Privacy settings for Lifelog?

I like using SWR10 and Lifelog to track my activity, but I would like some control over the data collected.
For example, I like the step count being tracked, but I don't want my GPS location being tracked in Lifelog. Is there a setting for this?

Open up LifeLog > Settings > Logger. Here you can enable or disable Location, Activities, Application and edit location tracking mode.

Make Flash Plug-In for Firefox Remember Privacy Settings for Camera and Mic Access on Local File

My company is using Flash Player to develop some kiosk-style applications to run on a standalone computer (no network connection). This computer will contain web pages containing Flash content. They will be opened from the local HD with Firefox with the Adobe Flash plug-in (v11.7.700.224). One of the applications accesses the microphone hooked up to the computer. When this application is started, it always asks for permission for "local" to access the microphone and camera. In previous versions of our system, we could click "Remember" if we did it once and that would make it so it wouldn't ask for permissions again (in this case, the Remember option isn't available, and the site settings don't even offer the Privace tab). However, in the previous case, we were running IE with a previous ActiveX Flash version (unfortunately, this approach is no longer available as we have had to switch to Windows 8 and that changes the game with IE and Flash entirely).
At this point, we have tried to use the Global Settings for "Camera and Microphone Settings by Site..." to enter "Local" as an always allowed site. This does not seem to have any effect. We also tried entering the root directory of the applications in "Trusted Location Settings", but that also seemed to have no effect.
I'm not sure what has fundamentally changed here. I think there might be some differences in the Plug-In version (compared to ActiveX), but I'm not sure what they might be or how to do the same thing as before.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We learned that the Privacy tab (in Settings) can be found under the Flash plug-in for Firefox, but only if Firefox is running under an administrator.
Unfortunately, we haven't had much luck with the mms.cfg file. The following was used in the mms.cfg file (placed in both the %WINDIR%\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash and %WINDIR%\System32\Macromed\Flash” directories):
AVHardwareDisable = 0
AVHardwareEnabledDomain = local
AVHardwareEnabledDomain = 127.0.0.1
AVHardwareEnabledDomain = localhost
AutoUpdateDisable = 1
The AVHardwareEnabledDomain settings seem to be getting ignored regardless of whether the user is a standard user or an administrator. I also checked to make sure it wasn't just a local problem by going to a website that uses a microphone (http://www.testden.com/accent-reduction/systemcheck.htm). Adding the requested domain to the list (AVHardwareEnabledDomain = train.act360.com) still didn't bypass the allow/deny dialog box.
We know that the mms.cfg file is being read because setting "AVHardwareDisable = 1" will result in no prompt and that section being greyed out in Global Settings. I saw a post that suggested this setting was required to even make the AVHardwareEnabledDomain work, but it seems to block the local entirely and still brings up the dialog query on the internet site.

How can I edit the privacy settings for my daughters Apple ID.

My daughter has forgotten her privacy settings. She has $80 in credit and would like to use them. How can she edit her privacy settings?

What do you mean by 'privacy settings' ?
If you mean the Settings > General > Restrictions passcode on her iPad then was it on the iPad when she last backed up ? If not then she can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when she last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and she can then re-sync your content back to her iPad - she won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.
If you mean the answers to her security questions, then if she has a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on her account then the steps on this page will give you a reset link on her account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6170
If she doesn't have a rescue email address (she won't be able to add one until she can answer her questions) then sher will need to contact Support in her country to get the questions reset.

Disable Privacy Settings for Local Application

Hi,
Is there a configuration / policy file that can be used on a
user's local machine to disable the privacy settings dialog that
pops up asking "Allow / Deny" for a Microphone?
Our application is distributed on the client from an
installer that must be run with administrative rights, I need to
find a way to disable this from showing since the user is
implicitly allowing us access to their microphone; after all the
software is developed specifically for audio recording.

GPO for changing privacy settings for Internet Zone

User Configuration - Windows Settings - Internet Explorer Maintenance – Security
in GPMC. On the right-pane, please double-click Security Zones and Content Ratings. On the dialog box, we should choose "Import the current security zones and privacy settings" under
Security Zones ad Privacy and click Modify Settings
to modify the level.
The article Ravikumar provided is very useful to us for configuring the settings via Group Policy, please also refer to it.

Using IE maintenance is the old way which I don´t recommend when implementing IE9 or newer. I wonder, why there is no way to configure this with traditional GPO?

Privacy settings for Online Number

Hello,
I'm trying to change the privacy settings in my account from Only Skype Contacts to Anybody so I will be able to receive calls to my Skype Online number from friends and family.
Everytime I do it after a few minutes it goes back to Only Skype Contacts on its own....
How can I make this change permanent so I can get calls from Anybody to my Online number.

Hey Everyone I really could use some help! Ok so I recently got sent a replacement iphone 4 in the mail. I backed up the old iphone 4 and transfered that information over to the new one NO PROBLEM. I downloaded my apps no problem either BUT here is my question. My apps such as facebook, twitter, and instagram do not have access to my photos. When i go to settings > privacy > photos NONE of the apps show up and they also dont show up under anything else in the privacy part like contacts for snapchat to use (which doesnt work either). My restrictions are enabled and my photos and everything else under there are selected to ALLOW changes. I have tried resetting the location and privacy as well and still the apps will not show up under privacy so I can give them access. Its very frustrating to not be able to use the apps. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! Also i have tried deleting and reinstalling the apps that hasnt worked either

I have recently upgraded to Yosemite and started thinking about security and privacy. So I had a look around hoping to find an article or something telling me what I should do to various settings to make sure that everything is okay. I did find some information but bits of it were beyond my understanding and I did want to do anything in case I messed anything up. Like I saw about FileVault but then went I went to use it I was asked if I wanted to use iCloud with it or not, but I didn't know which option to go for so I left it. Obviously I have a password and Firewall turned on but just wondering if there was anything else I can do to protect everythin. I also read that Apple gets a lot of information from web searches and such. I really do t like the thought of thar. Can I do anything. I'm sorry if this seems really basic but I would appreciate any advice anyone can give or point me in the direction of.

I just signed up for Netlix...they offered in the "opt out" privacy settings, for me to download, for Firefox users, the Network Advertising Initiative, NAI,..how do I uninstall this, in simple directions please. use my email naumoff@email.unc.edu

The NAI came to me while in privacy opt out setting signing up for Netflix...I need to uninstall it...I can't find where to do that on my computer. Need simple directions. use email: [email protected] as NAI is strangling my computer and takes forever even on your site, to load a page.

DURIM - Okay. I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]? We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro? If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. Privacy settings for my photos aren't working.

Whenever I want to send a picture on facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. It always tells me to enable the app to use photos through settings > privacy > photos. Now whenever I go to settings > privacy > photos, it never shows me the app to enable it, and I don't know what to do. I never had this problem before.

if its on the phone then just scroll down till you see it if you still dont then hard reset the iphone, hold down both home and power button untill apple logo shows and retry if that does not work go into settings general and reset then click reset all settings and go back and check it at that point if its still not working you will need to connect to itunes and restore the ios sw on the iphone

I am trying to find the option in GPO to set privacy settings and sites for IE 11. Does anyone know how this can be done?
Through Internet settings, the privacy settings are greyed out, through the admx templates, I can't find an option.

Prior to IE10, we can utilize Internet Explorer Maintanence(IEM) to configure IE Privacy settings. However, beginning from IE10, IEM has been deprecated in favor of Group Policy Preferences, Administrative Templates (.admx), and the Internet
Explorer Administration Kit 10 (IEAK 10). We can use IEAK11 to manage Privacy settings for IE11.

Privacy settings, Photo Library and Instagram

How do I adjust my Privacy settings to that Instagram can see both my Camera Roll (can see) and my Photo Library (can't see after latest Instagram update)?
Settings > Privacy lists Twitter and Facebook but not Instagram. I suspect I need to add them back here but can't determine how that works.

Same issue here after latest update.
The privacy settings for instagram is inside:
Settings -> Privacy -> Photos -> Instagram is listed among others.
Tried turing it off and back on but so far nothing.
Tried removing and reinstalling the app. No luck.

Privacy settings not working for me

Hi, I'm Jan and this is more or less my rage.
I THOUGHT Skype had privacy settings, cause I wanted to change some today and I went to check profile settings on my desktop software and show full profile and suddenly at the right edge I see the bane of my existance when privacy is considered. ALMOST EVERYTHING IS GREYED OUT AND SET TO PUBLIC! ARE YOU FREAKING MENTAL?! I'd like most of my info set to contacts only, thankyouverymuch. SO WHAT?! If I want to hide who I am until I am certain I want to tell somebody that information, I should commit identity fraud and FAKE ALL OF MY INFO?! WHY WOULD YOU EVEN CONSIDER DOING IT?! IS OUR PRIVACY WORTH ANYTHING TO US?! I realize that Skype has been through the gutter since it got bought out by Microsoft, but really? You can't manage not showing certain information? EVEN FACEBOOK WHO OWNS ALL THE INFO I PUT ON THERE HAS A "HIDE YOUR INFORMATION TO NON-FRIENDS" SETTING!!! I have a feeling I'll be searching for a new IM and net-calling provider soon, if this doesn't get fixed...
To be honest, I've been patient with every crash, every freeze, every update that looked more hideous than the previous, but this is the last straw.

Thanks for reply. Have done this already. Been spending 48 hours solving all the hardware issues that iOS 7 has caused. I have hardware issues that I never had before update. Had my beef with apple customer service that resulted in Apple being very keen on charging me £200+ for fixing iPad or advising me to buy anew iPad.
Result is that microphone is dead since update after resetting to factory setting 3 times!
Xmas will buy a nexus or samsung, fed up with the bad customer service, the poor software updates, 2 years for a £500 iPad is a bad return on money.

My privacy setting is stuck on Remember history, won't stay on Use custom settings for history after I set and click ok

When I go into Tools, Options, Privacy and set 'Use custom settings for history' and then click okay it will not save. It stays on 'Remember history', though it will save 'Never remember history' as I tested this. This seems to have happened after recent Firefox latest update. Does anyone know why I can't choose 'Use custom settings for history' as this is the setting I want to use?

It's not that I'm not satisfied with the current settings, it's just that I'm one of those curious people - wanting to know why suddenly I couldn't change my history setting when I could always chop and change it before to a setting of my choice. I noticed this has happened since recently updating to Firefox 6. When things like this just happen I always search for a reason. Anyway, it sounds as though I am a bit of a novice on Firefox compared to yourself, and if you recommend that it's probably best to stay on Remember History and it's not likely to cause any problems, then say no more, I shall accept your advice. Cannot change setting in privacy from remember history to use custom settings for history. I can set in to change but on closing with the ok button thus closing the privacy tab, it then reverts back to remember history.

I have been by a web sit that the cookies are disabled in the browser. on looking at the help on firefox help the instuction as i understand was to change the setting under the privacy tab ref history fromthe default setting of rember hhistory to use custom settings for history. I change the setting click ok but it reverts back to rember history. I just cannot change the setting.This also happend in the prevous version.

To see History and Cookie settings in Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
You need to make at least one change to make "Use Custom settings" stay selected.
If all history settings are the default then the History and Cookie setting revert to "Remember history" the next time you open Tools > Options > Privacy.
So it looks that your cookie setting are already correct.
