Privacy settings on iPod Touch

Can anyone tell me how I get to the privacy settings on iPod Touch?
If not available on the app on the iPod Touch, is there a way to set them if I sign in at skype.com? (Couldn't find it there either)
Solved!
Go to Solution.

you may need to install the Skype windows/mac version to adjust your privacy settings.  I think that your desired settings will be carried over or will also apply when you login again using your iOS device.

  • Mobile Me Settings on Ipod Touch

I have successfully synched my calendar and contacts on my mobile web account. I have downloaded same to my Ipod Touch. However, I do not seem to be able to get Mobile.Me to synch to the Ipod Touch. I am connected to a wi-fi network. When I try to go to Mobile.Me via the web to sign-in, and check settings for synch..... Ipod tells me I can connect through applications, however, I do not have or do not see a MobileMe or .Mac icon to connect..... Need the calendar to synch to all the computers I use as well as Ipod. I assume the setting is "synch" for all devices.

well I found out I had to load the new Ipod software for $9.95 which was okand now, through MobileMe, I am syncing from Ipod to other computers but can't seem to get it to go TO the Ipod...thoughts.

My ipod touch was working perfectly fine, but i was going to give it to a friend and so i decided to go into settings and clear the content and settings, so that it was a fresh ipod.  Well now it says connect to iTunes, but when i connect it to the computer it says that "USB device not recognized: the Device has malfunctioned and cannot be recognized" something like that.  And then it says it failed to install drivers and disconnects.  I do not know what is wrong and why it wont connect to my computer and iTunes.

  • Finding out Additional Space settings on iPod Touch

In iTunes you can see exactly how much space (GB, MB etc.) that Audio, Video etc. uses, as well as capacity and free space. On the iPod Touch 4G you can only see number of songs, videos and photos, and the capacity and free space. Is there an app or an iOS update that lets you see more details on the capacity, e.g. the GB of audio on the iPod?

  • E-mail settings in iPod Touch is gone.

Alright so couple hours ago I restored my iPod. Then few hours later I went into my settings to change something but then I noticed that my mail settings has disappers. I swear I saw it before but now its gone like bye bye. Anyone know why? Please help I dont wanna restore again and I tried restarting the iPod no use.

    Try this:
Email server settings (POP and SMTP)
AT&T email server settings are needed if you intend to use an email program (e.g. Outlook) with your AT&T email accounts. The current settings are displayed in the table below. If you only use AT&T Webmail to access your AT&T email accounts, these settings are not needed and you can access your mail by logging in at https://login.yahoo.com/.
If you signed up for a free att.net email account after 6/12/11, you will not be able to use an email program (e.g., Outlook) with your AT&T email account.
Note: AT&T's POP/SMTP settings have recently changed to inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net. However, if you are using the old settings, they will continue to work.
    The following mail server settings will work with all AT&T email domains: @ameritech.net, @att.net, @bellsouth.net, @flash.net, @nvbell.net, @pacbell.net, @prodigy.net, @sbcglobal.net, @snet.net, @swbell.net, @wans.net.
    Email Program Settings Field:
    Enter:
    Incoming (POP)
    inbound.att.net
    Outgoing (SMTP)
    outbound.att.net(requires authentication)
    Incoming mail server:
    POP3
    Incoming/Outgoing User Name:
Full AT&T email address, including domain (e.g., [email protected], [email protected])
    Incoming mail port #:
    995, secure connection (SSL) checked
    Outgoing mail port #
    465, secure connection (SSL) checked
Note: When updating the secure server settings, check the SSL check box first and then update the port number if necessary.

  • Transfer applications and settings from iPod touch to iPhone

    Hi all,
Currently, I have an iPod Touch. I have bought applications and I have configured some applications on it.
I am quite interested to buy the last version of the iPhone. But before buying it, I would like to know if it is possible to transfer the applications and the settings from the iPod Touch to the iPhone.
If it is possible, do you know how to do it? Restoring the back up of the iPod? I don't options about that in iTunes.
    Thank you for your help.
    Damien

First, be sure all your applications are included in your iTunes library. (iTunes > File > Transfer purchases from XXX's iPod Touch).
The application data is not included in the app, but in your ipod Touch backup file.
You can upgrade one device with the backup from a different type of device; most settings will transfer to the new device. See this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • What is the privacy selection for iPod touch?

In the new I O S update, I noticed in the settings, there is a setting for privacy.  What is that? So that no one can see your personal stuff? How do I set that up?
    Thanks

    Hello,
No setup is required, just open that up and you can see and manage what apps use your location, contacts, photos, etc.

    Hi gigABee!
It seems like the steps for syncing contacts through Facebook may be slightly different that what you have stated in your question, according to the user guide:
Add contacts - iPhone User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph14a87326
Import your Facebook Friends:  Go to Settings > Facebook, then turn on Contacts in the “Allow These Apps to Use Your Accounts” list. This creates a Facebook group in Contacts.

  • Securely Wipe iPod Touch

    Hey guys,
I just got an iPhone 4, and am going to sell my 32GB 3rd gen iPod Touch on ebay. The problem with this is that I don't know who will buy it, and I'va had somewhat sensitive data on it (Like contacts, e-mail, etc.), so I was wondering if anyone knew how to securely wipe my iPod? If it were a mac, I would open disk utility, and do a 35-pass format, is there some sort of equivalent that anyone knows of, because if you just format a drive, all the data is still there.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mncheeseboy

Erase all content and settings: Connect iPod touch to your computer or a power adapter. Choose Settings > General > Reset and tap “Erase All Content and Settings.”
This resets all settings to their defaults and erases all your information and media:
On iPod touch 3rd generation: by removing the encryption key to the data (which is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption)

  • Can't Set Up E-mail for BellSouth on IPod Touch

I've followed the guidance exactly and even had Apple tech support walk me through but I still cannot connect. I'm wondering if anybody else is having this problem and whether there is a workaround.
Gmail and Yahoo mail work like a charm so it's not a connection issue.
    Thanks much in advance.

Just got the iPod Touch 32GB for my beautiful bride for her birthday. Same issue. Fortunately, I have found that missing piece of the puzzle. I have worked with servers, email, etc. for years, so the frustration can be tremendous. With Bellsouth you need the correct information, but that is not all. I will include all of the settings so you should be able to get yours work as well. You can set up your account manually, but the solution that works is this:
(iTunes version 8.0.2.20 on Windows Vista 64 OS)
    (Microsoft Outlook 2003)
Go to iTunes on your computer.
    Connect your iPod Touch
You should see under Devices {your iPod name} iPod
Click the INFO Tab [Summary, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Photos, Info, Applications] that's the seventh TAB
    SCROLL Down to Mail Accounts
Select (check the box) that says Sync selected mail accounts from:
Select your mail application [ours says Outlook]
select the mail account in the dialogue box if you have more than one mail account
On the bottom right of iTunes, click the Sync Button
THIS will transfer all of your mail settings AND you will be able to send and receive messages.
Prior to the Sync, I had set up the account settings manually and was able to send, but not receive messages. After Syncing my wife's account, the messages I had tried from my account also were sent.
    Manual Settings from iPod Touch
In iPod => Settings => Mail, Contacts, Calendars =>
    Name: +Your Name+
    Address: +email address+ @bellsouth.net
Description: +Your Description to differentiate accounts+
    Incoming
    [POP3] *Host Name*: mail.bellsouth.net
*User Name*: +email address+ *DO NOT INCLUDE @bellsouth.net*
    Password: +your password+
    Outgoing
    SMTP: mail.bellsouth.net
    Settings:
    Server: On
    *Host Name*: mail.bellsouth.net
    *User Name*: +[no value entered]+
    Password: +[no value entered]+
    *Use SSL*: Off
    Authentication: Password
