Private Appointments vs TO-DO Bar

Hey Folks,
It seems Microsoft has taken away the ability of the user to hide details of private appointments (in Outlook 2013) on the TO-DO bar, which is clearly annoying for uses who work side-to-side with other colleagues and wouldn't like to expose the tittle and
contents of appointments as easy as on the to-do bar.
Is there any way (such as on office 2010) where user had the checkbox to hide these details, I have browsed around and was unable to find such funcionality. Is there any work around this issue? Is this by any chance coming back?
As for me is a major issue I might have to return to office 2010.

Hi,
Since Outlook 2013, some of the functionalities of the To-Do Bar is no longer available, including the To-Do Bar Options.
Currently we don't have a method to disable the details of Private Items in the To-Do Bar.

  • Snow Leopard: iCal doesn't show private appointments of as booked !

    Hi Apple-Dev-Team,
one HUGE issue with the new Exchange iCal implementation: I cannot see if a collegue has an appointment at a given time because it won't display private entrys!! that's an absolute no-go for any workgroup/team or enterprise using macs with iCal !!
Please tell me if i've missed some option... If not it would be absolutely necessery for us and all of our customers to see private appointments in iCal because everybody uses its calendar to manage private appointments as well...
I love iCal/Mail much more than Entourage, so it would be really nice if one could fix this issue...
    Thanks a lot!

  • Private appointments in ical?

Does iCal on iOS 6 support private appointments? If not when using a local calendar, does it support it when syncing with an Exchange server?
iCal on Mac now supports private appoitments after years of not supporting it. I was hoping that iOS 6 finally solved this architectural mistake on iOS too, but whenlooking at a local calendar on an updated iPad it did not work. I wonder if I did something wrong or if it is still not fixed.

  • Private appointments in calendar

I can't find anywhere where to set an appointment as private. I keep looking for it because it's extremely hard to believe this would be left out. Our organization mandates, as I'm sure others do, to keep private appointments in your calendar as well so that others know when you will be out for a doctor's appointments, etc without showing detailed personal information. It's crucial so that others know when meetings can be scheduled, etc.
You can do this easily with any other mobile phone that uses active sync for exchange. I also used this feature when out on the road setting up appointments. If I can't create private appointments, I would have to go back to early 2000 by typing it in notes and then create the private appointments when I get into the office. Huge step backwards.
Anyone find it or have a solution?
    Thanks!

This is critical to anyone in a business environment using an iPhone with Exchange.
For those of you that don't understand, setting an event as "private" works best with shared calendars in Exchange. Lets say I allow my bosses to 'see' my calendar. They can technically see everything in detail except for the stuff that's 'private'. The private events appear as mysterious, blocked out time. And that's how it should be. There needs to be a separation of work and personal time in Calendars. And flagging something as Private in Exchange accomplishes this task.
I'm hoping the iPhone guys see this. It's a small checkbox that I'm sure won't take too much effort to release. But adds great relief in the corporate world.

  • My Firefox updated this morning. What happened to my In-Private browsing in the Menu Bar? it's gone!

My Firefox updated this morning. What happened to my In-Private browsing in the Menu Bar? it's gone!

Yes, they made it able to start a "private Window"...
    But does it WORK?
I noticed that in v20, Firefox send cookies that were set before the "private Window" was opened.
    This means NO PRIVACY !!!
A site you visit in your "New Private Window" will ID you by the cookies it has set in the past.
Privacy is gone... bye bye ...
Of course one can manually delete the cookies for a certain domain.... but why would i want to go through all this work...
    I hope it's fixed.
And if it's not fixed.. it will be bye bye Firefox ... terrible choice.

  • Why don't private appointments synched from Outlook 2011 (for Mac) show up on my iPad2?

I have an iPad2, and have upgraded to iOS5. I sync my mail/calendar from Outlook 2011 for Mac. Recently (after the upgrade to iOS5), I noticed that the appointments marked "private" in Outlook no longer sync to my iPad, though they do sync to my iPhone 4 (also running iOS5).
    Any suggestions?

I am a doofus. All I needed to do was go into settings, click on keynote and turn iCloud on in keynote.

  • Remove (Private Browsing) in the Title bar

When in Private Browsing mode is there any way to remove the identifying text in the Title bar?

Enter Private Browsing mode this way and close and restart Firefox (File > Exit) by starting Firefox automatically in Private Browsing mode.
To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting '''Firefox will: Use custom settings for history'''
Check: [[ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"

  • IPhone 5 with private appointments?

For my enterprise (>10.000 employees) we consider using the iPhone 5 as the enterprise phone.
    We use an Exchange server.
It has to be possible to mark appointments as private on the phone. Furthermore it should support categories, because we have a system that exports specially marked appointments in a resource planning software (e.h. vacation, course, etc.).
Will those thing be possible with iPhone 5? I know that it's not possible with iPhone 4...
    Thank you for your help.

Consider it all  you want... no new hardware has been announced.
Until the new hardware is announced, no one knows anything about it.
As for iOS 5, all we know currently is what has been announced and is available at http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/

  • Private appointments in bridge calendar

There doesn't seem to be any way to mark an appointment as private in the bridge calendar.  The option exists on the Blackberry, but not on the Playbook.  This is a useful feature when other people have access to your calendar (BES, Exchange server).

    Cheers,
RandomHero, I appreciate that you're posting into a lot of different threads thanking us all for our feedback and telling us that you're constantly improving your products, but I would much rather see actual improvements to the product.  At the very least, it would be nice if RIM could actually let us know which improvements are being considered and how far down the line they are from actually being implemented.
The Playbook is basically an overpriced toy for me right now.  I bought it because it was supposed to be a "professional grade" business tool but there is absolutely nothing on it that makes me more productive than just having my Blackberry phone.  I realize it's a new product and I'm willing to wait a little while for updates, but how long do I have to wait?  Are we talking weeks, months, years?
It's been two weeks since I bought it already and all I've heard from RIM so far is "that feature is not supported on the Playbook" on several support calls and now a thank you from you.  I've heard from developers that they're waiting for a native development kit to be released so they can port their apps.  None of that is very encouraging to me.

  • Office 365 API: work hours and private appointments

    Hi,
We have application that supports Exchange on-premis and we wont to add Office 365 support. For that we need to be able to obtain same information that we use currently with our on-premis solution.
Does Office 365 API support retrieving information about user work hours and events that are marked as private? I haven't found this in documentation https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/office365/api/api-catalog

  • Private appointments with Iphone-Calendar

How can I mark a private appointment in my calendar as "Private". I want et to be labelled "private", when my colleagues open my shared calender in Outlook. Is it possible with the Iphone, or do I really need to add the appointment at my pc to mark it as "private". Please help. Thanks.

Again, thanks for your reply, allthough it doesn't solve my problem
I have now posted the following text at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html (hopefully they will add the "!privat-flag-option" in the upcoming softwareupdate):
"I recently became the lucky owner of a brand new Iphone 3Gs. But I'm very surpriced, that it is not possible til flag an oppointment in the calendar as "private". This is absolutely a "need-to-have", if the Iphone is supposed to be used as a businessphone.
Is there a particular reason why Apple has not included this option?"

  • How to display private calendar appointments in Sharepoint calendar view

I found this post about how to setup a sharepoint calendar as a personal calendar within Sharepoint 2013.
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/83366/view-outlook-calendar-in-sharepoint-2013
It works great, but when the logged in person opens it the private calendar appointments only show as "busy" and don't show the details of the appointment. Since the person who's viewing it is the person logged in I would think it would allow the
person to see their own calendar appointments.
Is there a way to allow private appointments to show details in this view?

  • Can I create a private iCal event in iOS?

Can someone tell me how to mark an event as private with iCal using iOS?
    Thanks!

Bad news -- private appointments/events are not supported on iOS, at least as of iOS 5.1.
You can make an event private in iCal, Outlook or other calendar programs, but iOS will simply ignore that attribute.

  • Lock symbol not shown on private appointement...

    Hi
until one or two wekks ago, when I hit f8 after creating an appointment, the lock symbol was shown, but now it doesn't work any longer.
This happens both with gw12.0.1_hp1_client_win_multi and gw12.0.2_client_win_multi.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forums
There could be something going wrong with the client itself. You could try any of the following and in no particular order:
    1. Open a Service Request and get an even newer version of the client and install that.
    2. Do a GWCheck routine and select the "Reset Client Options" option and see if that resets the behaviour back to default.
    3. Despite the above, I would test, via proxy access, if anybody can actually see these "private" appointments.
Let us know how it goes.
    Cheers,
