Private Distribution Installation Quirk

Hey all,
I ran an update on a private distribution app today and when I tested the install, I got the normal installing icon, but once it installed, that icon stuck around and a second completed icon for the app showed up next to it and sticks around on iOS 7. The same thing happens on iOS 6 devices, but the extra icon dispears a few seconds after the sucessful install.
Is my client stuck with an iOS 7 bug? Or can I change something to get rid of this icon, which, you can't delete until you have restarted your iPad.

In the meantime, try this suggestion from another user who was able to get it to work, looks like similar issue http://forums.adobe.com/message/5740108#5740108

    Hi Juan,
I tried that but it is not showing the shared distribution list for moving.
I found 1 sap BC office document which stats that moving the distribution list form Private to public is not possible due to security reason.
So, no options for me and to create manual shared distribution list.
    Thanks

  • DPS Multifolio App on Windows Platform (Corporate/Private Distribution)

    Dear all,
our company is about to use private distribution platform with DPS.
as I am pretty sure about the workflow with Ipad/Apple devices... it's a bit more blury with Windows.
First is it possible for our Adobe rep to build a Windows Multifolio application (for W8.1) that will connect to our fulfillement server ? (just like the IOS app will)
If yes, does it mean we'll get an application we might install on our windows devices ?
    Thanks a lot your answers.
    Regards.

    Thanks Neil,
yes (sorry for my french) we will setup direct entitlement (something like this, also seen last year with Klaasjan Tukker)
I wonder then if the Windows multifolio app you will build will also be able to connect the server for authentication?

  • What are the requirements for publishing an App for private distribution, not sale.

I need to create an App in English and 4 other languages for private distribution to individuals. What are the requirements for doing this please? I currently have a just a Single Edition license. Am I right in understanding I need a Cloud subscription and an Apple Developer subscription also?

My client desire is to only make their accessible to paying members requiring a sign–in before download. Does this fall into a private distribution deployment.

  • Build installer LV2009, requires OLD distribution installation disks?

When building an Installer using LabVIEW 2009, and including additional distributions, why does the installer builder require the original distribution disks from the install DVD/CDs?  Why are the version required not promoted to the LATEST update installed?  This is a real PITA when I have to go find the disks from 1Q2009, no wait, it did not ask for that, it asked for Feb 2009 device drivers disk 2.
This is as bad as Microsoft for installing from original distributions.
It is not a good thing to expect that I have to maintain a library of DVDs/CDs for every distribution/update I have ever used.  Especially when I am taking work home, and do not have access to this ENTIRE library, rather a copy of the lasest update ONLY.

Thanks Craig... BUT, I only have LabVIEW 2009 Intalled.  although I have upgraded components through the quartely updates.  So while what you say is true... it does NOT necessarly mean that you have 'multiple' versions of the LabVIEW development environment installed
That said... I have been at this for a little while (more than a day, but less than the time since dinosaurs walked)... and app building is something that has become much more complicated over time... I want to know WHY NI does not promote the installers/distributions to the most current version on the update DVD/CD where applicable... but you bring up a good point... If it cannot promote the distribution, it should give you a warning and ASK you if you wish to 'cache' the obsolete distribution as it does when building the current distribution.  This gives you an option to cache it WHILE the distribution is handy.
Failing that, in the project, there should be an option to have it display the currently required distributions as opposed to having to build the installer object, start the installer build, then wait for it to ask you.... by then it maybe too late.
I realize that you are trying to help/offer workarounds... I appreciate what you are trying to do... BUT, in this case, I want NI's people to justify what they are doing and why.  This goes beyond wish list, this requires justification, as even Microsoft has addressed this issue.

  • How to make an Arch Linux Distribution Installer?

I have made a customized distribution of Arch Linux in vmware.
I now need to make its installer for deployment.
    How can I do it?
I have tried Archiso, but it makes new work dir and downloads archlinux again.
I want to use the current installed and modified linux for the installer.
    Please help

    Hello,
Basically, I am doing the same right now in VirtualBox.
There is aif, an installation framework for Arch, which can be customized to install and configure Arch just like you manually did. Use [wiki]Archiso[/wiki] to create a bootable medium and make sure to install aif on it. Now, you need to modify aif in /usr/lib/aif to make exactly the same changes you did to your running system. Then, you can run /sbin/aif from the bootable medium to install your customized Arch.
Unfortunately, I myself do not know how to change aif to do things to the target system, e.g. install custom packages or manipulate files on the installed system. If someone has already done this or knows how to do, I'd be very grateful if he can share with us.

  • Private distribution on iOS 7

I am having problems with enterprise signed, built-in single edition, privately distributed apps on iOS 7. When a user installs the app, the normal blank icon appears for the instilation, but instead of being replaced by the real icon, the blank icon sticks around, while a second, final icon that is the app, appears next to the blank icon. Obviously this is less than ideal for users and my client won't take final delivery until this problem is cleared up. I am not having the problem on iOS 6 devices nor with privately distributed library apps.
    Thanks for any help

  • Help needed, DPS iPad app private distribution

    Hi all.
I need some help. I have built a single edition iPad app that is a training manual that my client needs to distribute only to customers that have bought a training course. So the app needs to be distributed privately.
Will this work if my client buys a volume purchasing programme ? Do I need to then buy an enterprise account in order to use the B2B distribution? Or is there any other way of getting the app to their customers without these?
Look forward to hearing from any of you.
    Thanks
    Gavin

Hi Gavin You need an enterprise account to distribute privately, unless you are happy using the adobe content viewer. No other way cheers Alistair

  • Distribution Installation with websphere

    Hi there,
I installed EPM 11.1.1.3 in a distribution environment. e.g. installed webSphere 6.1 in server A, but installed Essbase and EAS in server B. How to deploy EAS web application in a remote server?
BTW, EAS server and shared service can't start in windows service panel, but can start successfully by command method. How to resolve it?
    Thanks very much!
    Bruce

I did a websphere based project back in 2006 and I remember that some bundlings of Websphere (i.e. Websphere express) did not have all the components that OIM needs to work.
Have you tried installing OIM on the websphere version that is supported according to the release notes?

  • Private Distribution

Is there a way to distribute an app privately without having to create an HTML pg where the app files would live?
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/distributing-enterprise-ios-vi ewer-apps.html
The above link explains that option thoroughly, however is there a simple way to just send a link through an email and have the app download on the users device?

    HI,
To non business app and to small group you can use https://testflightapp.com/

  • Make iPad app from InDesign for private distribution

I want to make an iPad app (or similar) with inDesign that can be distributed via e-mail to a limited number of people. This is for the purpose of spreading information that isn't of interest to people in general, and the app cannot be avaiable through the AppStore or similar. (Yes, I know I can use iBooksAuthor on the Mac but I want to utilize InDesign's full functionality with portrait/landscape layouts etc.)
If not an outright app, can InDesign do something landcape/portrait with interactivity that can be read through iBooks or the Newsstand?
    Thank you!

    Ok, solved it.
Instead of requiring directory wide authentication, I'm only requiring authentication to access the .plist. Therefore the user navigates to the page(unrestricted), taps the download button, which makes the call to the .plist (restricted) and the user is then asked for credentials. When the user successfully authenticates, the .plist becomes available, enabling the download.
The .htaccess file looks like this:
    <Files enterprise_viewer.plist>
    AuthType Basic
      AuthName "Authenticate to Download"
    AuthUserFile /home/file/path/.htpasswd
    Require valid-user
    </Files>
I have a few concerns about the overall security of this, so if anyone has more of a background I'd appriciate a chat, but at least this works or basic security.

  • Private distribution of apps for ipad

I would like to develop apps for the ipad but do not want to permit gereral distriution via the istore. I want to be able to distribute to specific customers.
What kind of developer licence is required to permit me to distribute my apps to specific customers?

The main App Store page only shows a subset of apps, "New and Noteworthy" and "Staff Picks", as the headers indicate. If you want to see all, or most, of the iPad apps available, click here (this will open iTunes and take you to the App Store).

  • Flash 12.0.0.77 plugin installs to wrong folder

    In Vista x64, using either Firefox 28 or Firefox 24.4 ESR, the plugin installer (one downloaded from Adobe distribution) installs the 32 bit .dll file to \system32\macromedia\flash\ folder;
installs the 64 bit .dll to:  \sysWOW64\macromedia\flash\  folder.  So, they're exacly reversed.
I uninstalled it completely - went well.  Then removed 1 remaining file in one of the above paths, then reinstalled.  Did the same thing.
Before I did all this - I was *very sporadically* seeing the FlashPlayerPlugin_12_0_0_77.exe file, running (kinda "sitting") in background, in task manager.  It never came to foreground w/ a UI, asking for anything.  Couldn't figure out what it was, until started looking in the installation folders.
That's what lead to discovery the files were in wrong folders.
    Anyone heard of this?
BTW, "Nayana" of Adobe Support chat, is a few bricks shy of a load.  Or I am.  I couldn't create an acct for forums.  She kept saying, you don't need an acct - "just post your question.  Other people will answer it."

EDIT:  Seems there's no error in Flash installing to wrong folders, only error in my brain.  Why didn't someone stop me from embarrassing myself?
System32 (in a 64 bit OS / architecture) is for 64 bit drivers, files; SysWOW64 is for 32 bit apps running in 64 bit OS.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WoW64
WoW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit) is a subsystem of the Windows operating system capable of running 32-bit applications and is included on all 64-bit versions of Windows
    Also, http://www.samlogic.net/articles/32-64-bit-windows-folder-x86-syswow64.htm (section on SysWoW64)
    End Edit.
Thanks for info on attaching images.  A bit different than most forums.  There's no "preview post" before submitting?
Screenshots of the 2 flash folder contents.
NOTE:  I attached full FlashInstall.log earlier.  I opened the 1.25 MB (text) file in an editor - copied contents to clipboard > paste to forum reply screen.  Immediately locked up Firefox like a big dog.  Couldn't perform any functions in Fx - not even reload or close browser.  At same time, Fx memory use was continually climbing; to nearly 2 GB when I killed it.  Won't make that mistake again.
Been many yrs since Fx locked up, doing anything.  That aside, Adobe is definitely "different" than most forums.  Almost like a person w/ no $ to use one of the many forum softwares available.

  • Public distribution of iPad app, but not in Apple's App Store

I know we can make a Digital Publishing Suite app avalable for private distribution with an Adobe Enterprise account and an Apple Enterprise account.
But we have a client who wants to make an app available to the public for download on a company web page, but not have it available in the Apple App Store.
    Is that even possible?

  • Include LabVIEW Run-Time Engine in C# Project Distribution

I have written a software package in Visual Studio using C# which calls a number of functions from a dll which I have built in LabVIEW. I am now trying to produce an installation program for my C# package but can't quite work out how to include the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine in this installation.
I am creating the installation program by defining a Visual Studio Deployment Project and I have added my LabVIEW dll to this. However, the dll requires the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine to also be installed on the target PC. I was hoping that there would be a set of files to implement the installation of the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine that I could include in my Visual Studio Deployment Project and do the installation of both my C# code and my LabVIEW dll (inc Engine) in one operation. Is this possible? Or do I need to produce a LabVIEW installation for my dll separately from the C# installation?
    Info:
    Development OS = Windows 2000
    Target OS = Windows XP
    C# Development Environment = Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 V8.0
    LabVIEW Version = 8.5
Also, I am using the Order Analysis Toolkit and noticed that there seemed to be an 'Order Analysis Run-Time Engine' installed on my PC. Do I need this too?
    Thanks for any help.
    CAS

    Hi CAS,
One way of automating the installation of the LabVIEW run-time engine is to use commands in a batch file (*.bat). These commands would be executed automatically at the same time as your distribution installer to install LVRT with your C# application. For more information on command line options, have a look at this KB. I don't have so much knowledge of C# distributions, though, so there may be a better way to approach this that someone else in the community could advise you on.
With regard to the order analysis toolkit, you will also need this runtime engine installed. A point to note, though, is that the toolkit requires a run-time licence to be deployed in this fashion. It is now part of the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite and needs to be licenced accordingly.
    I hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Tom
