Privately Distributed DPS folios

Is it possible to take advantage of the DPS for enhanced interactivity but privately distribute it to specific employees within a single company? I would like to recommend it as a sales tool, but the key to being able to do that, is private distribution. I cannot have it publically accessable through the app store. (ipad only)
If it is possible. How do I do it? A link to a good tutorial is fine.

To create DPS apps with restricted distribution, you need an Enterprise account with both Adobe and Apple. You can read more about here:

Distributing a folio internally in a company

I have a client who wants to distribute a folio internally to the salespeople of a company.
It will contain information which is secret, so it may not be open to all on the App store.
Is the Enterprise Edition, the only solution?
or can I solve it any other way?

I also understand that you can use Adobe content viewer for a small number of users.
My client has requested a solution where there is a dps for internal use (about 200/300 users) and a solution for their customers externally.
The internal is for salespeople and will contain some inside information which is secret.(Prices, inventory status etc)
The problem is that neither my company or my client is a publisher who will give out a lot of dps's. But a few.
IT feels like a Enterprise solution a bit large and expensive.
And if I understand correctly is the the Adobe viewer most for review and testing?
As you can imagine, I am new at this;-)

Ad Hoc distribution with app built from DPS folio

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to deploy (ad hoc) an app built from the DPS tools. If it is, what are the implications and the methods? Currently, the only way that I am able to build iPad applications from DPS folio documents is from the Viewer Builder. Are there extra steps that are required to distribute these .app files via ad hoc? Thanks.

How to hyperlink a pdf or embed a pdf in DPS Folio?

I want to have an option where i want to connect a pdf to a button in DPS folio. I cannot upload the pdf on the any server and link it. So is there a way to connect or embed a pdf in the dps folio?

Best practice for exporting a dps folio so a third party can work on it?

Hi All,
Keen for some thoughts on the best practice for exporting a dps folio, indd files, links and all, so a third party can carry on the work. Is their a better alternative to packaging each individual indd file and sharing the folio through adobe?
I know there have been similar questions here in the past, but the last (that i've found) was updated mid 2011 and I was wondering if their have been any improvements to this seemingly backwards workflow since then.

Thumbnail View in DPS Folio Producer: Editor

Hi,
When will the thumbnail view for PDF folios become available in the DPS Folio Producer: Editor? This feature is waiting since a very long time to be implemented.
Or switch at least the behavior so the list view opens by default. Or remove the thumbnail view.

Viewing DPS folio on Content Viewer on PC

I am developing a DPS folio on a Mac for publication on iOS devices. I have a co-worker who needs to review my content on a PC. He is not using Adobe apps but has downloaded the Content Viewer on his PC. I have shared my folio with him and he can read it on an iPad. But we have not found a way for him to access my folio on a PC. Is this possible?

Actually, the content viewer on a PC can be downloaded at http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/installing-digital-publishing-tools.h tml and since it's a standalone executable, it does not require InDesign, etc., to be installed.
Yes, this person has an Adobe ID (but not Creative Suite) and yes, I have successfully shared this folio.
He and others would like to use Adobe Connect to review this app with me. The group I work within are mostly developers using PCs and I am developing documentation on a Mac/Creative Suite.

Viewing Folios with DPS Folio Producer and Adobe Content Viewer on IPad?

What is the path to viewing a folio, on an IPad, that has been published with the DPS Folio Producer.
Opening Adobe Content Viewer on IPad has no obvious path to the folio in the Producer.
There is no obvious path to the library in Adobe Content Viewer, either?
Logged in both with Adobe I.D.
Using ID CS6 on Windows.
Also as a Creative Cloud single member what is the process of being able to publish unlimited apps to the IPad.

Unfortunately, if you're on Windows you have no process to publish an
app. You need a Mac.
I wish Adobe would allow Creative Cloud members to use the same process
that Pro and Enterprise subscribers have by exporting a zip file. You
still need a Mac but you can pretty much use any Mac you have access to.
With Creative Cloud to publish a Single Edition app, you must have
InDesign installed on a Mac and you generate the app by choosing create
app from the folio builder panel menu.
All that said, if you create a folio while signed into the folio builder
panel, that folio should show up in Adobe Content Viewer as long as
you're properly signed into it.

We didn't export anything to PDF - they are all still indesign files...why would it have changed to PDF? Will the issue still work when submitting it to apple, if you can't see the thumbnails in the DPS folio producer organizer?

DPS Folio Producer Tools

How do I properly install DPS Folio Producer Tools? I keep getting an error message

I am working in Adobe InDesign CC 9.2
Mac OS X 10.7.5
When I open the Folio Builder Panel in InDesign this appears:
"You do not have a compatible Digital Publishing Plug-in. Click here to download the Folio Producer tools."
I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, these several times, and performed the two troubleshooting suggestions as throughly as possible

DPS folios from the UK

Having difficulty buying 10k DPS folios from the UK - anyone have a link or can advise best way to do this?
Seems the DPS store/checkout is buggy as hell... tried emailing Adobe for direct support... may as well have emailed Lord Lucan!

Distribute DPS Content using Apple Configurator

I have a small business and own 25 iPads. I use the iPads to present interactive training developed using InDesign/DPS. I use Aple Configurator to set up the iPads and some applications will allow the content to be stored so that I do not have to download each app and/or the content associated with that app.
I have not found a way to set up my DPS folio content so that Configurator will install not only the Adobe DPS viewer, but also the folios. Anyone know if this is possible or do I have to manually load each folio onto each iPad.

We have the same bug. iPads fail in education settings.
workaround:
a) hope/pray/wish that the ipad app has a way to import via iTunes from a desktop mac. For example. We manage the ipads with configuator, then quit configurator. Then I connect one ipad to my mac with USB. Before I do this i check that all apps on the mac and ipad are closed. I launch itunes, and then using itunes there is a tab called apps, and then a few apps support itunes file transfer. Learningally.org has an ipad app that let's me push out files to the app from a desktop mac using itunes. That's a rare app feature.
b) Setup the ipads with a generic mail account. We use a restricted email account called robot. I can then email an attachment to that address [email protected] Then on each ipad the kids open mail, and then click the attachment and say "open with". That is rare, but some apps can then import your word list.
c) Buy android tablets that allow many types of file transfer

DPS Folio Producer: Editor

I've just noticed whenever we open a .Folio in the DPS Folio Producer: Organizer we are taken to the editor screen which uses Acrobat.com Workspaces.
Will this feature be effected by the retirement of workspaces? If so what will replace it? We currently have a lot of folios being shared with clients.

Pages of Folio have disappeared in DPS Folio Producer: Organizer

Hi there,
We designed our latest magazine issue and by default it was set to version 20. It was showing up fine at this point in the DPS Folio Producer Organizer. When we updated to the latest software we had quite a few issues, so in trying to fix those issues we updated the version of the folio to version 24. Now none of our pages are showing up in the DPS Folio Producer Organizer and our new issue is simply an empty shell (In the DPS Folio Producer Organizer, not in indesign though). I have updated all of the articles individually, but it's still saying our folio is empty on the DPS Folio Producer Organizer. What am I doing wrong? What can we do to fix it?
