Privileges in Xe

Hi,
I have create an aplication, when someone whant´s to access a restrict area must make a register and then make the login. The data of the register is in the table users that i have create, so all the users can only see the webpage.
Is it possible to give to some users administrator previleges, so they can acess to the application builder and access to all information ao the application , like tables etc.
Thank´s

Hi Lionel,
I have a few questions for you:
Do you actually want these users to be developers / administrators in your application? You may want to carefully consider this. If they truly are capable of developing and administering your application then okay... If not then letting end users loose in the back end of APEX is only going to end in tears...
What do you need them to actually see - is it the table data? You could make a few application reports on those tables if needed and set some conditional displays for certain user groups and of course allow editing of the data if required.
What other application information would you want your users to have access to?
Is the register used to audit certain page visits (or something like that)?
Are you using the 10g XE database with original APEX version (2.1.0.00.39)? If so then I think each workspace has its own schema and the owner (schema) is the workspace administrator. I think there is a way to set users as developers in this version of APEX however I am not sure how to do it in the GUI. Take a look at the EDIT_USER procedure -maybe that can help. If you are on APEX 3.0.1 then you can manage users and flag them as developers (or administrators) of the workspace by going to the Home>Administration>Manage Application Express Users page and editing the user you want to.
Cheers,
Mike

Itunes wont open and when re-installed received this msg: Service Apple mob device failed to start.  You have insufficent privileges to start system svc.  Help?

Download Itunes from Apple.com, not from within Itunes.
Redo the install, following the below procedure.   However, when you re-install Itunes,  right click and run the install as administrator.   For Win 7, you have to hold down the cntrl and shift keys when you right click and then "run as administrator" will be an option.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Vista, Win 7 & later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Remote system Producing Errors "In sufficient Privileges" while running scr

    Hi
I have Machine with Oracle 10g 64bit(software only) on windows 2003 server and that machine located at Remotely(UK)
In fact i d'not know who installed the Oracle on that machine,
To access that mechine they given user/password to me
Now I have to run a script from here(script will create INSTANCE,OFA,DATABASE,changing SYS SYSTEM password, and final it create USER for that DATABSE which is created by script)
here problem is script able to Create INSTANCE,OFA but it unable to create DATABASE in this part it is giving Error saying that
    "In sufficient Privileges"
I tried with Command prompt like
    setted Oracle_sid,Oracle_home
    1.C:>sqlplus sys/change_on_install as sysdba
    or
    2.C:>sqlplus system/manager
    3.SQL>startup nomount pfile='<pfilepath>"
In above 3 cases it is giving same error “ In sufficient Privileges"
1.What may be that reason it is producing errors

Try adding the windows user you're logging in with to the windows machine to the Administrators group. Also check the persmissions of the pfile and subdirectories.

  • OIM 9.1.0.2 provisioning privilege configuration?

    Hi there,
I've set up an access policy to provision users of a certain employee type/role to an Oracle DB.
However, (a) when I create said user, no provisioning seems to occur.
    (b) I'd like to adapt the provisioning so that it grants connect privilege and some other privileges to users of this type.
If I provision the user manually, they are created in my DB fine.
    Any help given gratefully received.
    Go well, Hugh

Which group you have attached with Access Policy ?
Have you created membersip rule for that group ?
Access Policy always works with Group. Just givemembership to newly created user into Group which is attached with Access Policy and see what happens.

  • Why do I get "The exception Privileged instruction (0xc0000096) occured in the application" error message when exiting LabVIEW 6.1?

I have created a vi that uses the LV-GPIB and database connectivity vis. The program runs fine and it ends execution by running the "Close Database Connection.vi".
After closing out my front panel windows and exiting LabVIEW 6.1, I get an error dialog box that reads the message "The exception Privileged instruction (0xc0000096) occured in the application". What does this error mean and how do I resolve it?
    Thanks,
    Taf

    Hi Taf,
Given the broad scope of your application, it may be best to try and isolate the problem down by taking out parts of your application and simplifying it down as much as possible until you can get a consistent version that throws this exception. I would first try to take out either the GPIB or database connectivity portions of the application to narrow down our problem. This error generally occurs when accessing DLLs and external applications, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's the GPIB or database. Let's try to see exactly which one it is and then we can dig deeper into that part of the code. Thanks for your cooperation!

  • Can not find SeManageVolumePrivilege privilege in the process token

I need to enable the privilege of SE_MANAGE_VOLUME_NAME(SeManageVolumePrivilege) in my application according to the article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/156932?p=1.
I called GetTokenInformation in my process to get all of the privileges: GetTokenInformation(hToken, TokenPrivileges, pTKPs, lenght, &lenght).
On XP and Vista, I could find SeManageVolumePrivilege privilege in the process token, and I could enable it successfully. However, on Win7, I failed to find it in the process token. So I doubt maybe some setting of my login account is disabled.  But my Windows login account is belong to the Administrator group and I also add it to the "Perform volume maintenance tasks" of local policies->user rights assignment.
Does anyone know about this issue? Thank you very much!

You will only see the privilege if you have the Full token (ie if UAC is enabled, you must be elevated).
    thanks

Thats obvious from the xml file contents you have given here. In this xml file You have four complex type. Two of them are employee and address. However the employee doesnot have any relation with address as you have not added the relationship. Thats why its failing. Its not the fault of ODI.
Also I would suggest not to use auto generated dtd by ODI as you might face problem in future. For example the address type of XML has 8 attributes and 4 of them are not mandatory. That means each of your xml file may have attributes between 4 to 8.  This is where ODI auto generated DTD fails.
    XML Schema complexType Element

    I have similar issues.
    What I've tried:
Installing Windows Installer Cleanup (which is, btw, no longer approved by Microsoft), but the installation of this tool failed
    Removing Adobe AIR with CCleaner
Cleaning up the registry with CCleaner
Running the Adobe CS5 Clean script - but AIR is not among the options available
Adding a "-uninstall" suffix in a shortcut as suggested here: http://www.sevenforums.com/software/68987-cant-install-adobe-air-2.html#post749619
Using Ninite installer: http://ninite.com/air/ (as suggested here: http://www.sevenforums.com/software/68987-cant-install-adobe-air-3.html#post1318156). I got the error: "Install failed - Could not verify installation (1), 7 - 1329"
In the registry, under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Installer/Products/, manually removing the entry with .air-files (which is of course risky business)
Installing an older version of AIR (2.0.2)
Trying to uninstall - and remove AIR components with Revo Uninstaller Pro. This actually looked quite promising since it appearingly found a lot of "abandoned" AIR files. Unfortunately this didn't help either
None of the above has helped, since when trying to install AIR I keep getting the administrator error:
"An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
As far as I can tell from googling various sites, this is a pretty common error, but none of the solution proposals seem to work for me.
Any suggestions on what else to try???

I have been trying to save a document in illustrator and every time I try to, a dialog box pops up and says the following- Can't save the illustration. You do not have enough access privileges. id: -5000....This has been happening ever since I switched to CC and whenever I try to save something in indesign, I get a dialog box that says that my file is corrupt. How do I fix this? I cannot get any work done !!!

    You should ask in Illustrator

  • File & folder sharing with privileges on my network does not work. What is wrong?

My Timecapsule is creating a network between my iMac with OS 10.7.5 and my Macbook Pro Retina OS 10.9.2. I am trying to setup a folder on my iMac with controlled access privileges to work as a server for others using the Macbook as a client. I followed different tutorials to the letter, but it did not work, I could not get the connection. Then I called the Apple help line. It turns out that just setting it up with a 'sharing only' account etc. in 'sharing ' in the 'system preferences' is not enough. One also has to set up the same priviliges in the 'get info' window of the folder directly at the same time...so a double setup. They could not explain properly why and there is no mention of this whatsoever in any tutorial I found on the internet. Anyway, I tried that and it still did not work. When I add the user in the 'get info' window and press enter, suddenly the user does not show up in the privilege box with the user name but instead a line saying something like "searching for user" and something small dudeling next to it......I called Apple again. After two agonizing hours on the phone where I was treated like an imbecile it turns out one has to somehow go through the address book ??? Why, I have no clue and how, I do not remember, but suddenly it worked.
Anyway, now two month later I had to add a new user account to my Macbook and I need to give it access to my server folder on my iMac. Well same problem again. I cannot remeber what we did 2 month ago an cannot call Apple, because my service period has expired. I tried myself and got the dudle in the folders 'get info' window again. Then by mistake I deleted myself as the only administrator account on the Imac from the access privileges to that shaered server folder. When I tried to put my account back into the folders privilege settings I got the same message and the dudeling thingy there too. Frustrated I thought it is best to just re-start the computer.......that was the end of it all: Now the startup window does not show my account name and icon anymore, just two lines to fill in the account name and password. The upper line has an arrow pointing left, the lower for the password an arrow pointing right. I filled in the account name and the password....the dudle circle comes and nothing happens, it seems to crash. When I click on the arrows the sign-in lines disappear, only the three buttons for going to sleep, re-start and turn off at the bottom are the only items left on the screen. I tried 10 times to no avail. This is turning into a nightmare!! My account is the only user account on this iMac.......
What am I doing wrong? Or what is wrong with my iMac?
Why is there nothing mentioned about these issues in the tutorials or anywhere else? Why do the tutorials say it is so easy, when even the staff on Apple's helpline cannot figure it out without having lengthy side conferences with their co-workers and managers???
Does anybody know what I have to do again with the address book to add this external 'sharing only' user account to the folder's privilege settings?
I assumme I have to re-boot my computer tomorrow and restore it from the Time Capsule. How do I do that? I cannot log in????
With the setup I had working for the last two month there were still issues with acces conflict to new subfolders and files inside the shared folder between me and the Macbook account user. I have read that the solution is to create a group and give the group access privileges to the folder. However, I could not find any details on the exact steps to follow. I need the exact steps, otherwise this will turn into the next nightmare. Where can I find this info.
I would really appreciate your help with answers and solutions to these complex issues
    Thank you

I passed in username and password of account "A" to method "LaunchAppWithElevatedPrivilege", and also the application i want to launch, e.g. "C:\windows\regedit.exe", but when i run the service program, i found it do launch
"regedit.exe" with elevated account "A", but the content of regedit.exe is pure back. screenshot as below:
Can anyone help me on this?

You code is not dealing with the DACL access to Winsta0\Default.  Only the LocalSystem account will have full access and the interactively logged on user which is why regedit is not displaying properly.  You'll need to grant access to your user.
You also need to deal with UAC since that code is going to give you a non-elevated token via LogonUser().  You need to get the full token via a call to GetTokenInformation() + TokenLinkedToken.
    thanks

  • Getting Insufficient Privileges Error while running Pages in Jdeveloper

    Hi,
When I am running my pages in JDeveloper, I am getting the Error:
"You have insufficient privileges for the current operation." and the Application login page is being shown.
Looking at the log window, I see that the system expects my page to be shown correctly. However the login screen gets displayed.
I suspected that my login/password is incorrect in Jdeveloper Project settings. But I tried that. It is finw. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be would be great.
Please find excerpts from the Jdev log window:

We have recently migrated our 9i database to 10G database. Is it something related to that?

iPod Classic 80GB. Message reads ' iTunes library cannot be saved you do not have enough access privileges for this operation'.  It says it has synced but it hasn't. Please help, I am not very tech minded.

See this article about troubleshooting the error message regarding access privelages.  It may be preventing your iTunes library from being able to save/retain music you have recently imported to it, which may explain why no new content is being added to your device.

  • During the installation of Mozilla Firefox 4.0 on Windows Vista, I received an error message saying that I need administrative privileges to install. Are administrative privileges necessary to install Mozilla Firefox 4.0 on Windows Vista?

The happens when I attemp to install Mozilla Firefox 4.0 on a classified network. Initially when I try to install Firefox 4.0, a screen comes up saying that I need administrative privileges to install. Then when I cancel my logon username/password administrative screen, the installation process lets me continue and I can install the Firefox 4.0 software. I would like to know if Firefox 4.0 might encounter problems later on a classified network if Im able to install the software initially.

hello, when this is happening after you've already updated firefox with your admin account, try to delete the ''updates'' folder and ''active-update.xml & updates.xml'' within the %localappdata% folder of your restricted account like it is described in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update#Software_Update_not_working_properly
