Pro 266 Master AGP Voltage

Does the AGP slot on the Pro266(ms6366) Master take video cards that are 1.5 volt?  Or is it just the lower voltage cards?

Installed latest via 4 in 1s, and the previous version.  Tried a different set of Detonator drivers.  Tried a ti4200(both PNY).  Tried setting a lower AGP aperture.  I even reinstalled Xp and used the native Xp drivers.  I also removed all PCI cards.  Still no go.  I just gave up on the Geforce 4 ti4400 altogether and went with a Visiontek Geforce 3 ti500.  This could be an issue for MSI.  If they want to do anything about it.  I did not, however, flash my BIOS.  I don't feel comfortable with the flash procedure due to the fact that my hard drive is NTFS.

    Hello!
I'm worrying for my AGP voltage witch is 1,75 V (in red in core Center).
I cannot change it in Core Center though (OK- and save) because after
reboot it goes back to 1,75 V. My two friends who got similar computers
have the same problem. The difference is that I've Sapphire's and they
    have Club 3D's graphic cards.
What to do - any ideas?

    Hello!
After spending some hours reading around in this forum I've realized
that Core Center isn't that good. I'll certainly remove it. I've had some
problems with hang-ups on my computer but my friends haven't experience
this yet. I thought it was due to old drivers but realized it probably caused by
Core Center. Thank god for this forum and all you guys with answers.

  • Agp voltage

    hi,
i have a asus radeon 9800xt/tvd and every now and then i get weird thick dark bands running vertically at window xp pro desktop...also has narrower horizonntal banding as well.  I reboot and it generally works after that properly.  However, the other day it initialised the GART driver just before desktop loading and suddenly rebooted...then did it again.  I went to bios and increased agp voltage from default 1.65v to 1.7v and it worked.  Hssn't done anything wrong since.  Was i right in assuming that was the problem and can i damage the card by doing so?  Has this happened to anyone else?  If so, how did you solve it and what was the cause?
    Aspro
    p.s. using latest catalyst drivers.
p.p.s. does anyone use the asus enhanced driver for their 9800xt/tvd instead of catalyst?  if so why?

I have read about some people using 1.7v to solve certain problems although this was earlier 9600 cards I believe. I'm pretty sure you can't damge anything with that setting so if it works keep it. It is odd though that increasing voltage would solve this since the card gets most of its power from the extra cable you connected.

  • K7T Pro 266 (Ver. 1.0) with a XP 2200+ Processor

I tried using a amd xp 2200+ processor with a k7t pro 266 mainboard, as soon as i installed the 2200 processor, all i got was red lights (=Something is wrong with the processor). So I took the 2200+ out and installed a 1400+, which was working fine up to then.
Still, the 4 red lights remained.
Since then, I have tried everything. Resetting the CMOS, taking everthing off my mainboard except the processor, then except processor and ram. I even bought a new Processor!
    Still: 4 red lights.
I have no Idea what to do and i don not want to buy a new mainboard.
    Please help me
    Greetings, Mike

Check if there's anything stuck inside the socket and also look for bent pins on the CPU.
    Check for bad caps too.

  • ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 4x/8x AGP 256 MB

    Hello all.
I need a little help putting my mind at ease. The original graphics card that came with my G5 (Nvidia 6800 Ultra DDL) died on me over the weekend and I find myself needing to replace it. Took my Mac to the Genius bar and the guy told me that I would need to replace the card with an AGP 8x card. So ... I went online and purchase from Macsales.com the ATI 9600 Pro 4x/8x AGP card with 256MB of VRam. I have two 20" cinematic displays, so i need the dual DVI support.
What is getting me a tad nervous is that Apple Care 'recommends' replacing the card with the exact same card OR one that was also being offered at the time of purchase (ATI 9800 XT).
Does anyone foresee a problem plugging in the ATI 9600 card? If you do, can you make a suggestion for a card and direct me to where to buy (the 9600 seems to be backordered everywhere)?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi-
The main problem with the 9600 will be that it will feel dog slow after the 6800.
There are reports of other problems, though more hit and miss than any one particular thing.
Easiest place to find a graphics card is eBay.

  • AGP Voltage @ 8x

    Hi
I have query regarding the voltage that my GeForce FX5200 AGP card should be set to in the BIOS.
The 'spec' for the 875P AGP 3.0 slot states:
"AGP slot supports 8x/4x at 0.8v (AGP 3.0) or 4x at 1.5v (3.3v is not supported)"
Now according to CPU-Z, my FX5200 is running at 8x and my voltage setting is 1.65v, but shouldn't it be set to 0.8v for 8x?
(Come to think of it, I don't think the AGP voltage goes as low as 0.8v because I bleive the minimum voltage is 1.55)?
Maybe I'm not reading this correctly but I don't want to damage my board or AGP card, so I'd rather check it out with you guys.
    Regards
    Brave01Heart

No 1.55 is Fine ...As that is what MSI chose to use as the AGP Default......Some people run it at 1.6, But as most people don't realize that these newer generation Vid Cards get 90% of thier operating power from the +12V line (of the 4 pin Molex connector)....And even if you dont have a four pin molex, the only thing that you are doing is heating up your MCH (north bridge) with the the extra juice if you run it more then 1.5 Volts .....Sean REILLY875

  • MSI FX5200-T128[8917]Has 5200Ultra Chip Will it need AGP Voltage rise

    Hi,
Some where in this forum i saw that someone is talking about after removing the heatsink of 5200 and seeing it is 5200 Ultra ...It happened to me too...
My GPU is ought to be 5200 but under the heatsink it is 5200 Ultra
soo i need help about that how can i found vga bios for to turn its bios to 5200 Ultra's
My xp drivers saying it is 5200, after i updated bios will it be turn to 5200 Ultra...?? it must be but is there any compability issues known by anyone ??
And it is 5200 Ultra why it doesn't needs external power input[From PSU] like other Ultras have ?
If i rise the AGP voltage will it be helpful to use all power of 5200Ultra ?
    thanx for your time ...
    Sorry for my english

Since this issue is regarding a VGA card I'm moving your thread to the VGA Forum...

  • Agp voltage --- 1.6v ???

    guys,
i have an msi nx6800gt and my mobo is msi k8n neo2 platinum.
do you think i should try using 1.6v agp voltage?
i'm currently using default 1.5v but i was just wondering if using
1.6v would help me o/c a bit more.
at the moment the card doesn't o/c well at all.
would it be safe to use 1.6v?
    thanx

Yes, 1.6v is safe, but it may not help you OC much higher. If the card won't OC very well it's either to hot or your PSU is to weak on the 12v rail...Or you just got a card that doesn't OC well, that can happen too...Good Luck.

  • AGP voltage of gpu MS8808 ver:1A TNT2 Model64 32Mb??

    I need to know the AGP voltage of gpu MS8808 ver:1A TNT2 Model64 32Mb
because I am getting a new Motherboard and it seems it just admit 1.5 volts AGP Voltage.
    Thanks

    juanpa74,
That is a 4x Vid Card. All 4x and 8x vid cards work with 8x mobos. All 4x and 8x mobos work with all 8X vid cards.
Here is an 8x Vid Card:
    Take Care,
    Richard
P.S. If the card does not fit the AGP Slot on the mobo, the voltage is wrong. (The only time this is not true is with some old Vodoo Cards that were put on the wrong PCBs.)

  • Safe Agp Voltage

What is considered safe for agp voltage?  It is the one setting that I have not tried messing with because I am afraid of hurting/killing my card.  I am using an MSI 5900 Ultra by the way.  Thanks

Keep it as close to the "Default"(1.5 v) voltage as possible....As the newer cards as your is Gets the majority of its power from the "Molex" connector.......Sean REILLY875

  • K8N FSR AGP voltage too high w 6800GT?

    Hi guys !
I've been having trouble oc:ing my 6800GT and one guy told me that the problem is related to my AGP voltage. It's too high thus preventing the GT from running normally at higher speeds.
The symptoms of oc:ing are 1-3 sec freezings in 3DMark05/03/01 plus crashes "expolrer.exe & drwtsn32.exe". It's not a heat-related problem because I have a NV Silencer 5 mounted on the core which also covers all mem chips. My temp indicator shows me 45-50C idle 60-65C full-load.
I've heard that the GT requires 1.3V AGP voltage. Unfortunately you cannot lower AGP voltage in BIOS.
    Any suggestions ??

i have almost teh same setup.  when i first got my 6800 i had same issueso/c and i watercool.
it wasnt until i swapped my 430true power to wifes 350 enermax that it was straightened out.  ex has like 32a on 12v line
cpu used to use the 5v line but now almost your whole system rides the 12v line all peripheral cpu and your gt juce sucker.  so those old powersupplies cant keep up with big systems like ours
also with a64 some games you need to turn cool and quiet off during because the way the code is written it doesnt keep cpu at 100% so the cpu keeps throttling down and up.  i just shortcut in my toolbar for the power control from control panel. it works nicely
agp 1.5v.  6800gt core voltage is 1.3 ultra is 1.4.
those numbers are not really related.  your friend may be connecting numbers which are not related.  dont forget 6800 has its whole own mobo essentially with a core and ram and other chips sitting on it. thats what the agp 1.5v goes to.
    hope this helps

  • G4MX440 AGP voltage

    Hi,
I have a G4MX440 AGP Video card and have brought a new motherboard and CPU combination. The motherboard (ASUS P4S800 / Intel P4 3.0G) warns that the AGP slot is 1.5 volts only.
Can anyone tell me the AGP voltage of the G4MX440 AGP Video card or where to find it. I still have the documentation for both the Video card and previous motherboard but neither mention this detail.
    Thanks,

most AGP cards are 1.5V so you are ok

  • Why would you have to raise AGP voltage

I have an MSI 6600GT and I was wondering when would you have to raise AGP voltage? Can you safely and stably overclock the card without raising AGP voltage? Is there a way to monitor GPU temperatures? What are safe temperatures?

why would you have to raise AGP voltage
    you dont normally have to
though in the case of some ati cards they are not happy without it upped a bit
but ive never messed with it an any nvidia card myself
