Pro 6 start up error
Hi all,
I'm having problems starting up Pro 6. It runs into an error (to submit to Apple). It seems that it crashes during or after the plugin check. I have tried to run Logic via a new user and it runs perfectly. This could mean a preference problem but deleting the preferences in Libraby/Preferences didnt do the trick.
Since there is no support whatsoever for Por 6 anymore...
Can anyone please help? Does it help to post the bug report here?
Thanks a lot in advance!!
Marc
Thanks!! The AU manager did not give any errors, but by browsing another folder I found a TC component which was causing it. I removed the component and Logic was starting fine. Also reinstalling the TC plugin worked

MacBook Pro start up error..
when I turn on my Mac a black screen with an Apple icon in the middle appears, it seems to be an update and right afterwards it will shut down.
I can turn the Mac back on but it will go back to the same loading screen as before.
we used another computer to run diagnostics on the Mac to see the issue and later found it was either the heat sensor or the hard drive is fried.
the only time I had this problem is when I updated to osx 10.9 mavericks.
my question is how much would the repair be if the hard drive and or the heat sensor fried out.
It is also around four years old if that may be can a contributing factor to this problem.
I feel the update is here to blame since it has slown down my device.
I've never experienced this with my Mac before.
I'm a huge Apple supporter, I've had almost every Apple product created.
please tell me there's a way to fix this.Thomas1550,
if this is due to a problem with your MacBook Pro’s internal hard drive, then you could buy a new 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD (and a T6 Torx screwdriver if you don’t already have one) and replace it yourself, if you’re comfortable with simple DIY computer repairs.
If it’s due to a problem with the thermal sensor, then you could try replacing your MacBook Pro’s heat sink, which includes the thermal sensor; it’s not a particularly expensive part, but the replacement process is time-consuming. If replacing the heat sink doesn’t solve the problem, then your logic board would probably need to be replaced — and a logic board is quite expensive.
If you’re not comfortable with DIY computer repairs, you could take your MacBook Pro to an Apple Store (or other computer repairer) and get a price quote. -
Pro XI Install error on Win 7 64-bit "The application was unable to start correctly"
I am trying to install Acrobat Pro XI an a computer running Windows 7 64-bit
Before I can install I get the following error:
I exited the install and ran vc_red from the Adobe CD.
Started install of Acrobat XI and got the same error.
I exited the install and installed vcredist_x64 (Visual C++ 2010 SP1 downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center)
Started install of Adobe Pro XI and the same error came up.
Decided to proceed with the install.
Got the following error once install had completed:
Closed the error by clicking "OK" and clicked finish on the install window.
Tried to run Acrobat and got the same error as above except it said acrobat.exe-application error instead of acrodist.exe-application error.
Restarted PC-Same Error
Used Adobe cleaning utility
Rebooted PC
Reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI
Same ErrorI haven't heard of any fix from Adobe but maybe this will hwlp.
I kept getting an error this morning when trying to install Windows updates on my PC. One of the updates was trying to update Visual C++ (vc_red) from a folder on the C drive which was locked. The folder had a very long name (2f4b86.....). I kept getting a popup box pointing to the folder but it would not install the update from there. I had to copy the folder to the C:\Users\Public Downloads folder to get it to install. I mention this because vc_red seems to be involved with the previous Acrobat XI installation issue I had.
I would try looking at your installed updated and see if you have either update installed.:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243)
Removing them may allow Acrobat XI to be installed. -
Error message @ Win 7 Pro start up "There was a problem starting C:\programdata\ofpviaowu.dat - The specified module could not be found."
This error message appears every time I start (boot) my computer and windows starts (Firefox is not running at start up). Firefox 15.01 functions properly otherwise.
This started after I installed the 15.0.1 patch.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but the problem remains. Google search for "ofpviaowu.dat" came up with "2012-08-29 Firefox Release 15 Startup Crash Report" as the only listing.
Is this a Firefox issue?hello QAMgr, i'm not aware of this file being a part of firefox & also find it slightly suspicious that there are no more google search hits. maybe this is malware related... could you do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes]?

Comprssor won't start. Error message at startup is "Compressor quit unexpectedly"
I have Compressor v4 and it won't start. Error message at every startup is "Compressor quit unexpectedly" See below
I'm on a Mac Pro
Running Lion 10.7.4
Processor 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Ram 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
I also have the previous version of FCP Studio installed, which has the older version of compressor, which runs fine. ( Could there be an incompatibility?)
I've uninstalled and reinstaleed Compressor v4.
I've created a new user on my mac, loged in and compressor still won't start.
I've repaird premissions.
I've run the 3rd party Compressor Repair app.
Any one have an idea what I can do to get this to work?

Help. No chat service available.
patPlease clarify: do you really mean the over a decade-old, archaic, obsolete Photoshop 5.x, or are you referencing Photoshop CS5?
If the latter, please don't refer to it as "PS5". Are you sure you are trying to start Photoshop in 64-bit mode? Photoshop CS5 is the only Mac version that ever offered a choice between 32-bit and 64-bit modes.
In 32-bit mode, Photoshop CS5 can only have access to a very limited amount of RAM.
Your 4 GB of RAM are very, very little RAM these days. You don't even mention the exact version of your OS.
Also, give machine details:
BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
A screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

Hi,
K7N2 Delta
Sempron Processor
MSI- GeForce FX5200 Video Card
1Gb RAM
Creative Audigy ZS Pro Sound Card.
Just built my system with above main bits. Got spurious error messages on bootup.
"Service not Started" which according to the Event Viewer is idfferent at every boot up and has no effect on the pooter and occasionall Flash MIBI Error pops up and disappears to quick to read properly but I suspect are MSI / Videocard related.
According to the following post
Please help..."nvraidservice.exe" error at Windows startup with MSI K8n Neo2 Platinum (more & long)
Which was the same type of problem and following the advice therin I disabled MSI Live update which seems to be the main problem however when I re-booted the computer would not even get as far as looking for drives to boot from. I rescued it with a timely Ghost Backup and tried again with the same result.
Now I am a bit confused, I cannot turn off the offending service (which I am pretty sure is Live Update) without screwing the entire thing up.
Do I need MSI Live Update running? I do not want it and I cannot see why it should cause such a disaster after being disabled?
Can I uninstall this 3D Turbo Experience ? I do not use this machine for Games I have a proper pooter for intensive graphics but I do use it for watching TV via Win TV so if I uninstall £D will it cause problems?. What does 3D do that a FX5200 can't do on regular drivers.
I would like to remove as many unecessary MSI utilities asd I can starting with Live Update and 3D Turbo Experience + anything else I can ditch, which will hopefully clear my spurious start up errors as I strongly suspect MSI utilities are causing problems...
Can somebody give me some advice on the removal of non essential utilities please?
Or should I just go buy an Intel MOBO and Video Card :-)
TIAHi,
Quote
If I have to reinstall this machine again the MSI stuff is in the bin and I am putting Intel Hardware in it.
Is this an L or ILSR?
A new install will take you less than 30 mins!
You say that you re-wrote your drive using Ghost - are you saying that the Ghost image was used on another (non-nVidia) motherboard? If so, you should have done a new XP install at the start.
Also put your Audigy card in the third PCI slot to prevent any possible conflicts.
Is APIC enabled in the BIOS (don't confuse this with ACPI)? If not, it should be enabled before and during a new XP install.
The following doesn't make sense:
Quote
when I re-booted the computer would not even get as far as looking for drives to boot from.
If this is the case then a Ghost rescue wouldn't have made any difference. If the system can't find your drives then you wouldn't have been able to write to them.
I suggest you clear the CMOS with the FSB jumper set to SAFE - see this thread:
How to clear the CMOS
Then return the (FSB) jumper to USER then install a fresh OS (after checking your APIC is enabled). Also don't forget to disable your onboard sound and don't have an active LAN line connected during install either. I'm assuming of course that you've not done ALL of this
Try to install only the nVidia LAN drivers manually after the install of XP (should be on the CD you may have to unpack it first) so that you can access the web, then download the nVidia nForce/Platform unified drivers from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
as well as your VGA card drivers if they're not included (dunno as mine's an ATI).
It may also be advisable not to install the nVidia IDE drivers at first (you should be given the option during the nVidia driver install) as some people report problems especially with older CD-ROM drives.
EDIT: TBT just saw your post! and wot he (TBT) said :
Quote
If you have time please list your COMPLETE system specs of all you hardware, including your RAM brand, and PSU brand wattage and max amp ratings for the 3.3 5 and 12 volt rails.
I may be wrong, but a BIOS update should be done.
Good Luck and repost with any further difficulties!

I have installed BPEL Process Manager with Weblogic 8.1SP4.
I am using Oracle Database 9.2.0.5.0 for Oracle BPEL Process
Manager installation.
Also i have made following changes for JDBC thin driver accordingly.
<JDBCConnectionPool CapacityIncrement="2"
DriverName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
MaxCapacity="15" LoginDelaySeconds="1"
Name="BPELServerPool"
ShrinkPeriodMinutes="15"
ShrinkingEnabled="true" SupportsLocalTransaction="true"
Targets="orabpelServer"
URL="jdbc:oracle:thin:orabpel/orabpel_password@hostname:port:database_servoce_
name"/>
I m getting following error while starting the server :-
Connection Pool "BPELServerPool" deployment failed with the following error: 0:Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: invalid arguments in call.
Also I m getting following error during startup

The process domain was unable to lookup the TX datasource "BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow".
Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Additionally check that the connection pool properties as defined in the application server startup properties are valid.

ORABPEL START-UP ERROR!!!!!!!!
Can Anyone kindly suggest what is the problem ? -
Windows 7 PRO GP update error
We have a very peculiar problem
We have a Primary DC & Secondary DC installed in all our office ( Windows 2008R2). The Domain name is abc.com for all the Offices and the replication between the DC's happen in between the office happen without a problem.
The clients in each of the offices gets authenticated from the DC in the respective office.
But for a group policy update it gives an error as below
"Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encountered: The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file
\\<FQDN>\sysvol\<FQDN>\Policies\{BD732AAF-016F-11D2-945F-00C04Fb984F9}\gpt.inifrom a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is
resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following:
a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller.
b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled.
The error happens only on some clients.
We are able to Ping, connect to the local DC and the client gets the IP from the local DC and also gets authenticated by the local DC for log on.
On the PC which gives an error if we try to ping domain name - abc.com it returns the ip of the DC in a another office and not the local DC.
Request to suggest a solution / tips to identify the problemThanks for your reply

my itunes won't work so i tried reinstalling and when it starts an error pops up that says:
"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Itunes.msi' in the box below
please help, its frustratingfirst, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
next download itunes. it worked for me hope this is helpful!!
oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you! -
My Macbook Pro started running really slow
This week my Macbook Pro started running super slow, taking ages to open programs and giving me the color wheel alllll the time. I've never had problems like this before! I'm not running many applications or doing anything unusual but it's just running extra slow. Once or twice it has also totally gone to sleep while I was in the middle of using it, and I had to wake it back up. It has also been getting really hot and the battery life seems worse...! This is all new, I'm using my computer just as I always have but it suddenly has issues.
The only thing it has been doing for a while is sometimes the screen will go blue - this either corrects itself within a few seconds or if I close my Macbook and then reopen it, the screen is back to normal. This is very rare though and I don't know if it's related to the slowness problem.
What can I do to fix this??

Back up all data on the drive immediately if you don't already have a current backup. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.

Edited by: bala dondeti on Jun 20, 2011 12:43 PMThanks for the info Umesh,
Just to be sure - I should simply change "SOURCE_PACKAGE" to "DATA_PACKAGE" in the code of the start routine? "Source_Package" is present in two places in that code:
METHODS
start_routine
IMPORTING
request type rsrequest
datapackid type rsdatapid
EXPORTING
monitor type rstr_ty_t_monitors
CHANGING
SOURCE_PACKAGE type tyt_SC_1
RAISING
cx_rsrout_abort.
and then after that in:
Migrated update rule call
Perform routine_9998
TABLES
SOURCE_PACKAGE
CHANGING
l_abort.
Or should I revert to the 3.5 version? (as a side note, that Data Source (2LIS_13_VDITM) has been activated in 7.0 version by default, when I replicated data sources in BW).
Praveen, as to your remarks, I have the datasource 2LIS_13_VDITM (in version 7.0) active, along with the appropriate Infosource. Transformation between the DataSource and InfoSource is active, and only the transformation between the InforSource and the Cube poses problems.

Not sure why this is happening. dallaseasterrun.comHi Paul,
It appears you've managed to address this issue - I'm not encountering a "No Start Page" error when navigating to your site.

my macbook pro started acting strange after a safari reset.
the mouse no longer: animates the dock, activates hot corners or selects pages from safari 'top sites' (without a hassle). attempts to reset dock and hot corners from preferences has been fruitless
the mouse also gets 'stuck' in logic precipitating force quits.
i run osX 10.6.8 on a 2007 macbook pro that has had 2 motherboards replaced autumn 2010.
my troubleshooting has been: restart, pRam and safe boot, also checking a 'test' account to find the same issues extant.
pRam restart caused airport to quit and say there is no airport card, and wouldn't respond untill another reboot.
macbook pro 15" 2.4 GHz intel core duo.2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
i have treated this book with care, yet run logic pro studio to the limit of this book's abilities.
what shoud i do?You don't say which year you have, however...
...there are known problems with the mid-2010 models (see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US) as well as early and late 15" 2011 models (see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4766577?tstart=0).
Apple has taken ownership of the problems with the 2010 model but, unfortunately, the free logic board replacement for that model has probably long expired for you - three years after date of purchase.
One the 2011 models Apple has admitted no defect. You'll just have to skim the articles to get an overview of the problems that people are having (usually showing up as screen glitches at first and then going downhill from there).
Good luck,
