Pro 9500 Mk 2 front flap will not lower fully. Any ideas how to rectify the problem

Thanks for your input. Sorry but I am not explaining this clearly. The following pictures will show you what has happened. Since your last post we have been 'fiddling ' with the flap and have managed to get it down to the horizontal. There is plainly something wrong with the mechanism as normally it is smooth and quiet whereas as now it needs a bit of persuading which causes some creaking of plastic against plastic!

    Did you delete all receipts with iDVD in the file name  with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder before installing the new copy?  If not then do so and delete the new application also.

    Jim, that sounds like a good hypothesis. Yes, I am using smart previews. I have my originals on an external drive which is connected. Still, LR can not find them. Do you know how to tell LR where to find the originals? I would like LR to identify the source automatically: if external drive is connected LR should show "original and smart preview" not only "smart preview". Thanks for your help.

    You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password.  They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary.  The call should be free.

    Here are my answer to your questions.
    1) What's causing this problem -- me, software, or hardware?  
    Depends are you listening or playing those songs online ? This Can be caused by Software or Hardware. but based on your description it sounds like that this might just be a driver issue
    2) How can I avoid it? (work-arounds)
    Reinstall SOUNDCARD DRIVER  or get a faster internet connection ( For streaming musics )
    3) How can I eliminate the problem completely?

    4) Is there any way that the sound and internet are actually related problems, or are they just coincidental?
    Soundcard and Internet will be related to each other if you are listening or Playing those songs online. Since it needs to buffer first before you will be able to play the whole song completely without cutting off.

  • My Nook finds the downloaded books and is authorized but will not open them, any ideas how to fix?

    I finally got the Nook to find the books I loaded through DE, but they will not open,  B & N seems clueless and the local lib is working on the problem.  Meanwhile both books I downloaded are about to be overdue!  I could use some help!  Thanks!!

    Figured it out!
    Connect nook to computer
    In explorer, delete ".adobe-digital-editions" folder on the nook
    Disconnect the nook from the computer
    Start ADE
    Then plug in the nook to the computer
    ADE will ask to register the nook
    Do so
    Now I see the nook in ADE
    Close ADE and disconnect nook
    Now I am able to read the ebook that I had transferrred originally from ADE (purchased from Kobo)
    Apparently, ADE did not register my nook properly the first time.  The second registration worked like a charm.

    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button.     Are you using a Mac? It sounds like you are using his computer to sync to. If this is the case, then it will sync to all of his stuff unless a new user is created with your personal stuff on it.
    When you want to sync your iPhone to that computer, switch to your user first, and then everything will sync with your stuff. If he wants to hook up his iPhone to sync it, then he needs to switch back to his own username first.

    It definitely sounds like your Nano needs a new battery at this point.  You can have Apple replace it for a flat fee, send it into a third party service center to be replaced for much less, or you can purchase a new battery online and swap it out yourself if you feel up to it.

    And, you are sure you have provided the correct username and password for you email account? I'm not familiar with Virgin media, so you might contact their tech support to find out why you are having a problem sending mail but none receiving mail. I assume your mail account has always been POP3 and not IMAP. Typically, the outgoing mail servers are not the same for the different types of account service.
