I'm not sure where WPCentral got their info from, and they don't cite any info except the last line in this quote, so I'll call it a RUMOR for now, but check this out:
Two sites today—TechRadar and the Verge—both with decent track records on rumors (not-ranked and 84% respectively, via Tracour) are claiming that AT&T and Nokia are looking to open the doors to the Lumia 920 and 820 on November 2nd.
The phone is reportedly in testing at AT&T’s labs and if all goes well, that is the date that AT&T will be looking to put the phone on the shelves.
The date is a bit odd as it falls on a Friday. AT&T as far as we know always release phones on Sundays and they have been quite consistent in that recently for the last few Windows Phone launches. Why the change if true? Perhaps to get the phone out as early as possible but also maybe they are timing it with the end of BUILD 2012, which coincidently ends on the same day.
T-Mobile is expected to launch the Lumia 820 during the same week and later Verizon will launch the flaghship Lumia 920, hopefully in that fireball Red.

However, a source talking to Nokia For Us says the phones are coming to AT&T, available in stores Nov. 2.
Joining AT&T sometime during the first week of November is T-Mobile, which will supposedly carry the lower-spec 820, and Verizon, which the source said is set to get a version of the 920.

Does the Nokia Lumia 920 support APTX?

I am wondering as I am looking into purchasing the HS3000 to use my S4 headphones but if the phone doesnt support aptx i will probably pick up the mw600 with fm built in.

Apparently not from reports ive read..Currently they are , v3.1 with A2DP, EDR APTX needs 4.0
The 820/920 have got 4.0 certification so hopefully later on they will have it out of box.

What was ready? Are you referring to second or third hand information about when Windows Phone 8 was claimed to be ready ("golden", released to manufacturing)? If so, Microsoft has not made any official announcements, as far as I know.
From the day the final version of WP8 is made available to device manufacturers, it'll still take a good while for them to rebuild the firmware for their phone models, fix any issues discovered, and do a full round of testing, possibly additional fixing, retesting and then reflashing the device inventory, packaging and shipping. Some countries also require additional approvals/certification, before they allow a phone to be sold there.
So, from the day Microsoft releases final software, I'd expect it'll take at least two months, probably longer, before the first devices become available for sale anywhere.
If WP8, indeed, was ready on Sep. 17th, that'd mean sales starts mid-November at the earliest. (And usually sales, and manufacturing ramp-up is gradual, so the devices won't be available everywhere as fast; some regions/countries probably won't get devices until some time January/February.

Nokia Lumia 920 loads of issues after Denim update...

Everything functions well, but after updating it to Lumia Denim + Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 I first got some weird installing issues, then it started randomly crashing, then it worked fine again, of-course it won't back-up as usual (so no hard-resseting for me), and the live folders seem buggy for no reason at all, but for some reason whenever I attempt to create a live folder it takes me 5 minutes and it won't ''accept it''.
Also for some reason there is no ''Hey Cortana'' or maybe this simply isn't for the Nokia Lumia 920.

Hi, TulaTheQuang. You may try checking if there is any update on the phone system apps by going to Store >... > settings > check for updates and see if these will fix the problem. If not, try rebooting your phone by holding the volume down and power keys at the same time for 10-15 seconds, release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to set the date and time on the phone. Let us know what will be the outcome. Hi I have a nokia Lumia 920, I updated it to amber using nokia software updated for retail. At that time I was able to install nokia pro cam, but I had to reinstall amber because of minor problems and when I tried re installing pro cam it said "this app does not support your device". Please advice me what to do, I really love the pro cam app

First of all will the Nokia Lumia 920 from AT&T get the 8.1 update or will it have already been considered EOL? Also when will the 920 from AT&T get the 8.1 update and whatever update is included with that from Nokia?

The lockscreen behavior
Upon power on, screen lights up and shows the lockscreen (or camera), which runs a timeout to auto power off the device if screen is not touched in X seconds.
But if screen is touched, the timeout counter is restarted, so continuous touching could lead into a loop, the "death loop" which won't let the device to power off (standby) and will consume battery life.

New touchscreen technology
The Nokia Lumia 920 comes with a touchscreen that reacts to touch from pretty much any material such as metal or clothes. This can be dangerous.

So here is a theory
When the phone is inside a pocket or bag it can be touched by other objects. These objects can press buttons and can touch/rub the screen. This will initiate the "death loop" for who knows how much time, could be minutes or hours, depends on how active the user is since body movement will produce friction between objects/clothes and touchscreen:

The "death loop" will drain battery and battery is precious.
Solution?
Should be simple: screen must not power on if the proximity sensor detects proximity. Current version of Windows Phone does not take care of this. The big question is: will Windows Phone 8 take care of this? Is the Lumia 920 a potential battery drainer?

I don't understand why we have to spend our valuable time in the forums for days and nights to FIND HOW TO FIX THAT CRAB!! NOKIA company did not handout these devices FOR CHARITY.All of us had paid around a thousand dollars to buy this Phone. NOKIA LUMIA 920 reciever cannot hear me...

I contacted Lumia support in India for a sound issue i.e the reciever cannot hear me at all. This is for all networks contacting me. I am on Vodafone and using a blackberry at the same location the reciever can hear me well. I spoke to the tech support guys who advised me to take it to the repair centre. On saturday i decided to do a factory reset. Then the gears went on turning till sunday and my phone would not start or charge. I took it to the repair centre and told them about my issue. They opened my phone and said the phone has water damage and it is out of scope of warranty. I asked them how is it that the gears are still running when the phone is started and they could not answer and they returned my phone saying I have to pay them. I think this is ridiculous. I spend 38K on a phone and customer support says water damage which is impossible since the gears were still turning as you connected the phone to the charger. But the phone would not charge. I took the phone back home and restarted it and Voila it started working. However now my voice cannot be heard at all by the caller. So I basically have a big shiny brick in my hand. All calls are returned using a Blackberry Curve which is working suprisingly fine. Please advise I have mailed Nokia care in India they said simebody would get back to me no one has. It has been over 5 days since the email and 10 days since I have not been able to return a call.
Pretty frustrating. You can try calling me on 0091-xxxxxxxxx16 and see how bad the Nokia Lumia 920 sounds and then try me on my Curve at 0091-xxxxxxxxx96 and see the difference in clarity for your own self. Both are Vodafone sim cards.

I sent my Nokia Lumina 822 to Nokia due to the fact I could not hear every now and then the person I called or called me. I was told my Verizon to take battery out for a few seconds and then reinsert. This worked for a while. It eventually got worse. I dealt with Nokia via chat on line and phone for a few weeks trying to resolve problem. I realized my warrantee was up in ten days and discussed with them having the phone looked at. Being on an extremely limited income, I could not afford the insurance. The phone was sent back to me with a letter stating it had water damage and could not be fixed under warrantee. Everything on my phone worked except what I have listed above when I sent the phone in. Now I cannot even turn the phone on. I should have received the phone back in the same condition it was when I sent to them. Now they are giving me a run around that is beyond my comprehension. They are rude and demand this is my fault. I must have submerged in water, which I had not. Now I have a phone that will not turn on. This phone was synced with my computer and used on a daily basis when away from the house. I cannot afford a new phone as I saved just to purchase this particular phone. They say I have no recourse in this situation. I am extremely tired of being taken advantage by Nokia and treated as a stupid old lady. All I want is the phone back in previous condition. Not much to ask for, right?

have you checked that you are up to date with the latest firmware thur checking in Settings > Phone Update, and that you are up to date with all the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store? if you are, and you are still encountering problems then it appears you will need to visit your Nokia Care point for inspection of your phone.

Hi mate,
I presume the settings woul be inside the app for WhatsApp tones, however it would also pay to check if there are any relevant ringtones under Settings > Ringtones + Sounds.
As for the notification to show up on your lock screen, I'm unsure if Whatsapp would support it, but if it did, the place to look is in Settings > Lock screen, under the area Notifications. There is an option to choose which app to display detailed status, and also which apps to show quick status.
