PRO & Cons of using treasury management

Hi,
I am trying to implement the treasury management, could someone tell me the PRO & Cons of using treasury management?
thanks,
Liang

Hi,
Based on the business requirement of the client you can decide upon using the Treasury module. If your client is into Banking or Investment field, then you can certainly go ahead with implementing Treasury as the daily treasury process within a company comprises a wide range of transactions, from determining the current liquidity based on bank account balances (cash position) and open receivables and payables (liquidity forecast), through to manually entering planned payment flows (advices) and carrying out cash concentration (the concentration of several bank account balances onto one target account).
The main aim is to
1)Ensure sufficient liquidity for all payment obligations that become due.
2)Ensure that the incoming and outgoing payment flows are optimally controlled and monitored.
For additional information on benefits of implementing treasury ,u can refer to the following link:

  • Pros & Cons of Using SAP PI Interfaces for Report Generation

    Hi Guru's
    I have a Scenario's like
I have to generate a customized report in SAP with the main data's available in SAP ECC and some required data available in the Legacy System.
I want to know the Pros & cons of using SAP PI RFC/Proxy adapter interface to get the data from the legacy system for each time the user execute the report in SAP ECC.
    Thanks in Advance

There are couple of "dimensions" to consider in your PI interface design. For exemple when you are running the sizing exercise (Since we are considering adding a net new interface), you will need to capture specific information about new interface.i.e. S/A, adapters, frequency, avg payload size. etc..Note that the last two attributes will be hard to size properly in this case since you can't predict how frequent the end user will run the report which will impact the latency time required to pull the data. Latency will affect the user experience as visible side affect and definitely the SLA for other interfaces running at the same time.
On the other hand, the data you are trying to retrieve from the legacy won't be used for transactional purpose but for the end user to pull KPIs from the system which can affect ECC as well. You may end up doing lot hot fixes for your report (Assuming that the report is a medium complexity code)
There are other factors to consider but let's consider these are the major one.
    Cheers,
    F

  • What are pros/cons of using xmarks vs. firefox sync?

Used Firefox for a long while. Bookmarks morphed to Xmarks, which in turn has been acquired twice. I continue to use the newer Xmarks. In process of setting up a new computer, found that Firefox has it's own bookmarks sync.
Like to keep things as simple as possible. Does Firefox sync do all that Xmarks does? What are pros/cons of using xmarks vs. firefox sync?

I am not in a business environment, just my home. So, I don't know your specific requirements. I operate a dual G5 xserve, a dual quad-core mac pro, 6+ Apple MacOSX computers of varying types and several other linux servers plus a couple of Windows machines. If it were me, I would get two mac pro's running MacOSX Server and use one for backup of the other. The xserve RAID is too expensive from my point of view. I copy data from the xserve to several MacOSX computers with firewire drives for my backup and I have every computer on a ups. (I am assuming that they will not all fail at once!
I run Tiger servers and would suggest that you significantly test Leopard before committing to it.
    Hope that helps.

  • Oracle Best Practices Discussion Pros/Cons of using Synonyms

Please share your experience given the Pros/Cons of Developing Enterprise Database Applications using public and private Synonyms.
My recommendation to developers on my team is to avoid using Public Synonyms in their code and instead Fully Qualify the database object by schema owner.
Pros: When you drop a schema, you do not drop the public synonyms that they created. Therefore if you have to use synonym, make it private and not public.
    Please share your experience!

    Fahd Mirza wrote:
Well I rarely use public synonyms and that only case of db links. For example, I have a scenario, in which I have hooked up a MS SQLSERVER database with Oracle database through Heterogenous Services. I am accessing the SQLSERVER table in real time, through HS, in Oracle in real time, and then from this Oracle environment I have created db links to many other interested databases. In those interested database, I have created public synonyms over those dblinks.
It's so transparent for the interested databases. But I have documented this whole configuration in great detail for any upcoming DBA, just in case I leave, or expire or anything. Sounds interesting - this might be worth 'cleaning' and publishing to OTN's Articles. • Pros & cons when used ROWLOCK in deletes.

Could you please breif the pros & cons of both operations...
    DELETE x FROM
    dbo.table_a x WITH(ROWLOCK)
    INNER JOIN dbo.table_b y WITH(NOLOCK) ON x.id=y.id
    DELETE x FROM
    dbo.table_a x WITH(NOLOCK)
    INNER JOIN dbo.table_b y WITH(NOLOCK) ON x.id=y.id
    Thank you.

Could you please breif the pros & cons of both operations...
    DELETE x FROM

    DELETE x FROM
    dbo.table_a x WITH(NOLOCK)
    INNER JOIN dbo.table_b y WITH(NOLOCK) ON x.id=y.id
    Thank you.
what pros and cons do you want. Table hints should mostly be avoided specially the NOLOCK hint it should never be used. Its bad coding.
The Rowlock is used to change locking behavior of SQL Server it would try to take ROW lock even if page lock is required.
The pros and cons would depend on scenario.

  • Pros/Cons of using Snow Leopard Server as my main OS?

Hi, I'd like to have some of the functionality of SLS in a small network, but I don't need a dedicated server. Purchasing the Mac Mini SLS config seems to be a good way forward. Apart from the hardware differences in the Mini (e.g. no built-in optical drive), are there good reasons why I would not want to use SLS as my everyday OS?
    Simon.

This one gets asked pretty regularly; poke around the forums for various previous discussions.
Mac OS X Server is almost the same as client in terms of its contents and software.
Recognize first and foremost that it's more complex to manage a server than a client. You're expected to know more about IP networking, DNS, Open Directory, AFP and other services. Putting this distinction another way, you get a cute little documentation booklet included with Mac OS X client, and [here is the documentation shelf for Mac OS X Server|http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/resources/documentation.html].
And one more subtle detail that comes into play with a server; if the server is down, more than one user is typically adversely effected. Not only can management be complex, but there are considerations around whether the services are available and stable and reachable. Most folks don't care if a client comes or goes, but every other user and other box on the network that is depending on the server for (for instance) DNS translations can get cranky if the server isn't reachable.

  • Pros/cons of using iPod as backup HD?

Ok, I'm the last person on the planet without an iPod, but thinking of getting one.
I'm wondering if I can get away with using an iPod for both music and as my backup HD (instead of using an external FW HD) for my primary HD (this would get me halfway to justifying the purchase ).
Anybody using an iPod for both music and as a backup HD for their primary HD?
If so, what's the good, the bad and the ugly?
In doing some reading here, I see that the iPod cannot (should not?) be partitioned, so that's one strike against it.
The process to put it into disk mode also seems a bit putzy compared to simply hooking connecting a FW HD to my PB and having it automatically mount.
    Other thoughts?
Anybody using Carbon Copy Cloner to clone their entire HD to an iPod?
Anybody use an iPod to boot their Mac/PB? (Apple KB doc says it may be possible, but it's "unsupported").
    Thanks

I use my iPod for quick backups. But I never trust it as my primary back up. One, the iPod is not designed for sustained read/writes because it is not adequately ventilated to keep it cool enough. Another reason not to use your iPod as a primary backup is that it can easily be stolen. But as for a back up device that works in a pinch, it can't be beat.

  • Pros/cons of using Microsoft Office vs. iWork

Soon I will be buying a Macbook, and I am trying to determine whether or not to have Mic. Office 2007 Home/Student or iWork installed? I wanted to know what people recommend or their opinions on either and which one works best and is user friendly with respect to compatibility issues with sending/receiving info to/from PC's? Thanks

It really depends on what you need to do with it. If you need to do presentations through Powerpoint then that will be difficult. Pages will transfer seamlessly for almost everything and so will Numbers. The issue with Keynote to Powerpoint is because Keynote is to advanced to Powerpoint and doesn't match with its transitions. For instance if you wanted to do magic move or text transitions on Powerpoint, you can't because Powerpoint isn't as advanced so when you export from Keynote to PPT it will not transfer those transitions. So you have to keep the transitions very minimal. I personally love iWork and think it is better than Microsoft's stuff (cheaper and better). But if the school requires Powerpoint stuff to be done on THEIR computers then you might want to use Microsoft's crappy stuff.
Here are the links for both...

Also if you order iWork with your macbook it is only 50 bucks, you can also always try the trial for 30 days and see how it works.

  • Using Business area for External Reporting-Pros & Cons?

    Dear Freinds,
We are a Retail Business Group half way through SAP IS Retail implementation. We have 8 legal entities, currently their complete Annual Financials are being made & audited separately. In SAP the structure is that there is Single Co. Code & transactions will be seggregated by Business Area (made manadatory for data entry) and Annual Accounts will be drawn up using Business Area.
This to me does not seem to be the right structure. I have joined the group recently, I will be much thankful to you all if you please help me list the Pros & Cons of using Business Area for external reporting.

Dan: <i>For management reporting you may not want to post eliminations between companies where the business areas are the same.</i>
If the Business wants to see the eliminations between companies, within the same business area, as part of BEx reports, what should I do? They do not want to execute consolidation functions in UCMON but just want to see how the eliminations have taken place between companies with in the same business area.
Dan: <i>As long as the partner company and partner business area are consistently included for the intercompany transactions, the eliminations between Legal and Management will agree at the top-level of each hierarchy.</i>
Have I to introduce one more InfoObject Partner Business Area in the data basis and assign the role Sub-assignment once again?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Pros & Cons of Currency Types of Profit Center

    Hello,
I would like to know pros & cons of using group currency as a currency type of the profit center when PCA is implemented (TCode : 0KE5). We can set either Controlling Area Currency, Profit Center Currency or Group Currency as the Profit Center Currency Type. What precaution we need to take in each of these cases? It would be really great if somebody can explain with the help of example or shares practical experience of taking decision on which type to be used.

    Hi
Trans currency is the currency you used in the transaction.. This is always recorded
I dont see any -ve impact of using it in BI in a Live System

Is  TechTool Pro any good for Mavericks 10.9.3 ? Does anyone use it ? Any speed increase? Any problems ? What's the pros & cons for using the software?
Please share your experience if you use it or have used it with Mavericks 10.9.3...

All such products are either worthless or outright scams. Avoid them. TTP is frequently cited as the cause of various problems reported on this site.
Use your Mac the way it was designed to be used - without burdening it with useless garbage.

  • PROS & CONS

    Hi guys!
I'll need to develop a medium/large scale RIA application
using Adobe Flex 3 and a .NET backend
What are the pros & cons of using these technologies?
    BlazeDS
    LifecycleDS
    WebOrb
    I need data-push functionality
What's my best option? What's the best scenario? Blaze +
    Webord? LifeCyle + WebOrb?
    Thanks!!!

    Hi,
You cannot use BlazeDS or LiveCycle DS for .NET back end.
Those products are for Java back end. You should be using Flex and
Weborb, if you want invoke .NET objects from Flex application using
    Remoting and do more.

  • What are the Pros and Cons of Using Batch Numbers over Serialization

    Dear SAP Gurus:
Will someone please give me the benefits of using Batch Management over serial numbers in this case scenerio, or vice versa:
Client wants to trace all the components of an assembly in a BOM.  Even the Raw material.  The client sends the material out today and has the vendor assign serial numbers to the individual pieces, the client gives the range of serial numbers to use.  We are looking at using batch numbers to accomplish this and issue one material and batch number to a production order.  Then use MB56 batch where used functionality to view history.  I am wanting to understand the benefits of this.  Please advise and points will be awarded as always.
Also, in this scenerio, can you issue multiple material/batch numbers to one vendor op that has its own production order?

    Yes it is a subcontract.
Example:  This is the solution but need the pros and cons of doing this scenerio
Sheet of metal sent to vendor to make lets say 1800 peices of material number nas5703-01.  All 1800 pieces come back and issued to a production work order using one bacth number for one material item so that batch number can be traced in history in MB56 and a fit up report.

  • Pros and cons of using disksets for SUNW.HAStoragePlus

    Hi,
untill now we were usign disksets for SUNW.HAStoragePlus for installing HA Oracle on both Sun Cluster 3.1 and 3.2.
On the article ( http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/features/articles/cluster3.1_oracle10g.pdf ) with the title "Installing and Configuring Sun Cluster 3.1 Software for Oracle Database 10g HA" the author prefers using just the disk devices for SUNW.HAStoragePlus.
What are the pros and cons of using disksets for disks you'll use for SUNW.HAStoragePlus?
I think that if you do not need to add more than one disk to a diskset there's no need to to use disksets. So, you can eliminate a problematic layer such as SDS. What do you thnik and which option do you prefer?

    some more details :
On " Chapter 4 . Configuring SolarisVolume Manager Software" of "Sun Cluster Data Service 16 for Oracle Guide for Solaris OS"
(http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2980?l=en&q=Sun+CLuster+3.2 ) SDS disksets we use for HA-Oracle installations is explained in detail.
Our procedure to create diskset to locate Oracle files is attached.
After reading the article, I realized that using disksets is not a
must for filesystems to be mounted as SUNW.HAStoragePlus. If yes, I
would prefer using the disk devices directly instead of putting them
on disksets so that I can eliminate one for layer which is the problematic SDS layer.
