Pro Logic and Access Virus Ti Polar

Does anyone have any experience using the Virus Polar with Logic Pro? The Virus is supposed to be an audio interface. However; Logic does not recognize it. Any help would be appreciated.
Secondly, recording through an Apogee unit, either Ensemble or Duet with the Virus synth would sound better?

Did you go into the Audio preference in Logic and select the Ti from the drop down list? If it doesn't show in this list, does the Ti show in Audio Midi Preferences in the Utilities folder?
As far as I remember, the Ti is only a 16 bit audio interface whilst the Apogee gear is 24 bit. Access mention some massive sample rate / bit depth in their marketing but that is for the analog converters only, not the audio interface via USB specs. It's really a bit of a con.
I sold my Ti because it's not what Access advertise both in sound quality (as a plug in) and as far as "Total Integration" is concerned. I had all sort of problems with sync and arps going out of sequence. The moment I started using a dedicated audio interface instead of the Ti, all my problems with latency, popping and crackling stopped. I sold it and bought Zebra 2.

Logic Pro 9 and Access Virus TI2 on a MBP 2011

Hi,
I am struggling for over a month now to make my Access Virus TI2 and MBP 2011 to work together
but I keep getting a communication error in Logic Pro 9.1.5:
A communication error has occurred. The Virus TI does not respond to request messages or the transmitted data is corrupt.
I am having my setup as simple as it could be. The Access Virus TI2 is connected to the MBP through USB.
I have contacted Access Music, they claimed the error to be result of the USB communication between the two machines. They suggested me I use a usb hub. I bought one and now I am using it but there is no change. The error persists.
I was wondering if someone else is having the same setup and if he faces the same problem. If yes, how did you resolve it?

Access Virus Ti Polar - Interface With Logic Pro

I just purchased the Ti Polar and the instructions claims it can act as an independent audio interface for Logic Pro. I installed the software and see it under my "preferences" but nothing works. Does anyone have any experience with this? The synth is tremendous and again according to the instructions can control Logic, Ableton, Reason, etc...

Pro logic and omega

newbie here i got a friend who wants to switch over to mac and pro logic....botttom line is he has a omega external usb device he wants to use to monitor his work and to use as a input device....his manual said it will work on mac core drivers. so that is the question..he wants to tkeep his cost down for time being and use this device....will it work?

As long as it's CoreAudio-compatible, it'll work.

Access Virus Ti Polar & Korg Zero 8 Mixer

I just ordered a new Virus Polar synth. Does anyone have experience with this device being used as an audio interface into Logic? I just had planned on using it for its sounds direct to track recording. Can it really be used as an audio interface?
Secondly, the Korg Zero 8 be used as an audio interface? I am considering getting one.

Yes.. you can use your monster Ti as an audio interface with LP8 but there are known issues with Mac OS X Leo. Its partially the Access that needs to come up with update. And their latest update will be release this spring. check virusti dot com for current info and help.
I gotta admit TI is probably the best synth out in the market right now.
Korg...I am not sure..never had it.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Access

Currently, we are using a handheld unit to collect process data from our line which is then uploaded into our Quality Access database via ODBC link. we are upgrading computers and plan to change this handheld to a Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
Question: What would be easiest method to link or upload process data on the Surface Pro to our existing Access quality database.
1. Put a local copy of our database on the tablet then export to the database or use an append query?

How do i hook up The Virus Ti Polar to Logic pro 8

i just recently bought the virus ti polar and the m-audio firewire solo and i have no clue on how to hook the virus up into logic 8? or do i run it threw the firewire solo interface and then into logic 8 im very frustrated. i dont know where to start and what setting to use or even anything. I just dont want to be lost with this forever because i paid 2850 and i want to use the virus to its full potential. so if anyone can help me setup the virus ti polar into logic pro 8 it would be much appreciated.

Connecting My Access Virus KC To Logic Pro

I recently bought Logic Pro 8 and a Access Virus KC. My problem is I have no idea how to set up the virus to logic. If someone could give me step by step or just some basic information that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Setting up external keyboards has been covered here lots of times, so a forum search will turn up lots of information.
In short, in the environment, create a new multi-instrument, call it Virus, and set the MIDI port and channel it's connected to. Enable as many sub channels as your keyboard uses (up to 16.)
Save this to your default template so it's always available when you start a song.
Now just assign the Virus to a track and start sequencing.

Access Virus KC, Logic Studio & ARP Sync - Please help!!

Can someone please help out here.
Im using an Access Virus KC, via an external midi channel in Logic, connect to an AMT8.
When the I play an ARP patch iv created through the midi channel in logic, the ARP pattern doesn't play back. All I get is the single note and sometimes 3 notes of the pattern????
Similarly, when I have the external midi track selected in the arrange page, when I play the keys on the virus, I get the same problem. However if I move the selected track in logic to an audio channel, I can strike the keys on the access and hear the arp play back perfectly.
This may be a simple issue, however I cant seem to figure out what the problem is here.
All advice appreciated.

To help figure out where the problem is,
open both your reference movie and one of your bounced audio tracks in Quicktime pro, with the audio track in front. Hit ⌘⏎. If they play in sync, the problem is happening when you re-import into FCP. If out of sync, the problem is in Logic.
Also, the sync issue - is the audio or video playing slow, and how quickly does it fall out?

Is it possible to ("Library") these sound files or access them from logic?

Zfdinvscanner and McAffee on-access virus scanner

Our environment is Zen 6.5.20, WinXPsp2, McAffee MCShield on access virus
scanner - controlled by ePolicy Orchestrator.
When zfdinvscanner runs, it appears to open loads of files on the PC to ID
them (logically); however, the MCShield on-access scanner traps this and
does a virus scan of the file before letting zfdinvscanner do its stuff
and move on. With MCShield enabled, zfdinvscanner takes 10-15 mins to
scan a normal workstation - during which time processor utilisation sits
at 80%+, often hitting the bumpstops at 99% and generally making the
machine unusable.
With MCShield disabled, zfdinvscanner completes in no time at all.
How does everyone else cope with their on-access virus scanners? It's not
feasible for us to disable for zen inventory, or set up any kind of
exclusion within it due to the way zen inventory works...
Any help/advice appreciated.

HT5421 Logic Pro 8 and OS 10.8.2 ?

Hi there, I want to installed Logic Pro 8 ( an upgrade version ) on my Macbook Pro with OS 10.8.2 and when I click on the installer on the DVD, the message is : You can’t open the application “LogicStudio.mpkg” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is that mean that it is no compatible ? what can I do ? Thanks.

I had this issue as well.
Check your Logic 8 packaging and see if you see "Universal Binary" written on the back or spine of the box.
Logic 8 in later releases was both PowerPC and Intel supported. However I get the error "cannot run PowerPC applications" on OS 10.8 on my new MacBookPro.
The cause of this is most likely that the installer was a PowerPC application, and Apple assumed at the time you could just run Rosetta for the installation.
Solution: install Logic 8 on an older Mac, run a Timemachine backup of your mac, then plug your Timemachine harddrive into your new mac and run Migration Assistant (Under Utilties)
Works perfect, even the plugins and Apple Loops carry over. It works 100% perfectly good. If you have the "Universal Binary" version there is no need to buy Logic 9.
I wasn't really "wow'd" with the new features of 9 and thought I would hold off until 10 to upgrade. This was 3 years ago. I still use Logic but it's amazing how cutting edge it used to be, and how far Pro Tools and Cubase and FL studio have come in the mean time.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.
