Pro to save movies from web...

Hi all,
First time post here. I just bought QT Pro and one of the features "Save as Quicktim Movie" in the browser plugin, just doesn't seem to have been activated. I don't want to steal content - just watch it offline (on the train home and stuff)... arrgh!
Any ideas?
Thanks,
J.

You must wait for the entire QuickTime file to download before the menu can be activated.

  • Can't save pdfs from web browser

I recent;y had to reinstll adobe pro on a new computor (purchased here). Now I cannot save pdfs from my web browser. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

    What browser, and what happens?
Are you trying to save PDF as PDF or create PDF?

  • Why do I need QT Pro to save movies

I changed something in my preferences in conjunction with Flip4Mac while downloading a file. Now I have different pop down menu's and I can't save anything. I don't remember need to have QT Pro in the past to simply save a file?
    Any ideas.
    QT 7.3.0

It really depends on how the QuickTime browser plug-in is used (or not) as to whether you can save copies of Web based files.
If the link to the QuickTime content is "direct" then the browser plugin displays the content in a new browser window. You can then save the file without using QuickTime Pro because the browser is saving the file and not the QuickTime browser plug-in.
You can also copy/paste that direct link in the Safari Downloads window to keep a local copy of the file.
QuickTime Pro is required to save files that are not a direct link but some authors can change that by using the special html code kioskmode="true" which, again, disables Pro users from seeing the save as dialog.
At the far right of the QuickTime controller is a downward pointing arrow. A Pro user can click on this arrow and a contextual menu will appear to allow saving.

  • Right clicking to save photos from web source

I am trying to save PICS from a web-site and I am stumped about the "right-click." What is the Mac substitute for this command?
It is a subscription service so I can't send you the URL.
If you'd like to save photos to your computer, simply hold the cursor over one of slideshow pictures and select Visit Gallery. From there, you'll be able to download individual ones by opening a photo, right-clicking, and selecting Download This Photo.

On a Mac, right-clicking is done by holding down the control key when you click on the image or file.
Alternatively, just dragging the image to your desktop usually does the trick.

  • Cannot save images from web on ipod touch 4 after ios 6 update

After downloading ios 6 to my ipod pod touch 4th gen, I can no longer save images from the web to my camera roll. Please help!

It works fine on my iPhone 4S
    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Setings>Safari and Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • How to download movies from web with Quicktime Pro

How do I download movies to my harddrive from youtube and google video. Have quicktime pro, but I don't see down arrow when I watch a movie on the web. There is gotta be a way to this for a Mac. Somebody explain it to me, please....

Quicktime can't download videos from youtube. Youtube videos aren't quicktime videos they are flash flv's videos.
There's a few ways to download youtube videos:
Wail you have the youtube page open that has a video you want to download you open Safari's activity window and look for the flv's url (usually the largest file). Copy that url into Safari's download manager...
Or a much simpler way is to download MPEG-Streamclip, free. Copy the url of the youtube page into MPEG-Streamclip "Get URL" done...faster. You can either download the flv or mpg-4 (better quality than the flv) video from youtube using MPEG-streamclip.
    Here's M{EG-Streammclip down page http://www.squared5.com/
As for Goggle there a download button on the right hand side of the Google web page.

  • QT& PRO and saving movies from the Quaylernet

Just purchased Qt Pro so I could save trailers etc. from the internet.
    1) Where in the QT menu/ screens/ about/ info or anywhere else does the program identify itself as "Pro"? Mine doesn't, so maybe my reg key didn't go thru? If not, skip question 2).
    2) If I'm okay on 1), how do I save, specifically, starwars.com QT trailers? I tried a post that suggested using Firefox with page info to find an embed with a .mov extension, which I did but couldn't save it as a .mov. My system changed the extension to .html. Again, maybe my Pro key didn't register for some reason.
Could really use an emoticon for hair being pulled out...

If your registration "took" the Preference Pane is the only place your see the word "Pro".
The QuickTime Player should now have the word Pro removed from all menu options.
I'm not signing up to enter Star Wars site so I don't know the formats they use for playback. You should be able to use the disclosure triangle at the right end of the movie controller to save. If it's not present then the page code uses the kioskmode="true" tag.
You need to copy the URL from the page source code (begins with http and ends in .mov). Paste that link into the QT Player Open URL dialog window and wait for the file to download completely. Then use the Save or Save As menu to keep a local copy of the file.

  • How do I save contents from web page to iWork

This may be the wrong community so please let me know if it is? I want to save a document from a web page in Safari to iWork on iCloud.com. The document is of my son's USA hockey membership confirmation and I don't know how to save it to iWork or which application to save it to once I do? Numbers, Pages? Thank you in advance..

I thought I was clear about what I'm trying to achieve... I want to view my document in either Pages or Numbers, because they are on both my Macs and iPhone/iPod touch's.

It's really just content on a web page but its information I need to have access to across all my devices from a MacBook Pro to iPhone and iPod touch. I want to be able to view it in the Pages iOS app and the OS X app.
I just need to know the best way to save it, & in the fewest amount of clicks preferably.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, printing from web cuts everything off on right side

    Hello,
I am having a problem with my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus cutting of everything ont he right-hand side of my pages when i print anything from the internet.
I am currently using Windows 7 and I am printing from Firefox.
I use Gmail and anything I print from there does the same thing.  I see on several other posts here that they tell people to go to the File menu and choose preferences, but when printing from Gmail, I do not see anywhere that has a drop-down File menu to choose from.  I also see several people saying to choose landscape orientation to print, however it still cuts off the right side when I choose the landscape option.
When I print from Gmail I am just hitting the printer icon on the upper right corner of the email itself (when you put your mouse over the icon it says "print all"), or I click on the drop-down menu under that icon and choose "print".
When I am trying to print some web pages, I can hit the download arrow to the right of the google search box and then print the downloaded page instead.  This usually corrects the problem, but sometimes when I try to download a page, it says there is nothing to download.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thank you,
    Steel

    Hi @steel13
Since the issue only occurs when you print from Firefox, I feel it would be most beneficial if you reach out to Mozilla.
You might first consider resetting Firefox print settings; Fix printing problems in Firefox.
    Best of luck.

  • Why can't I save pdfs from web anymore?

I noticed this recently, it didn't dawn on me at first, thought it was a particular web security, but even common sites I save from are no longer letting me.  There is no save icon, no menu, nothing. I am using Adobe 9 reader, with Firefox browser and Win XP. I can recall a fairly recent update from Adobe, it may be since then. Can anyone help?

    Hi and thanks for interest.
Can't find a way to reply via the forum (must be me) so I hope this is successful to answer both suggestions:
I had another look at the Firefox menu, and saw (maybe overlooked) the option of "save PAGE as". Decided to try that and it saves the pdf file (not just the page). I knew right-clicking had not worked, but tested all options again. No idea why or what changed, as used to have a save option on left or have the floating menu (rt click?). Anyhow - cracked it now - thankyou!

  • Web probroms for pc's downloading .mov from web

Hi I'm trying to download .mov files off of the internet and the information line says that it is downloading however when it is done nothing happens. Do I need to try a different extension on my webpage like .flv so my pc will read it? Help

    Welcome to the discussions!
I suppose you already have Quick Time for Windows, ( if not you can download it for free by pressing the Quick Time tab from a pc and using the download option. ) When the cursor in the movie pane reaches the end, you can ctrl-click the triangle in the end and choose "Save as". Otherwise it is saved in the destination you provided as all other downloads.

Yeah originally I was like "oh it's not as good as I thought it was gonna be" bot once you get used to some of the intricacies its actually a really nice phone.. could just do with being a little faster especially when you go to widescreen and back.
If you want some really nice themes, check out the ones by NCA such as Se7en blue.

  • Am trying to install CS6 on my new MacBook Pro. Downloaded installer from web. Ran installer, got a dialog asking me to "Please close these applications to continue:..." There were two items on the list: Safari

"Please close these applications to continue:..." There were two items on the list: Safari & SafariNotificati (sic). I closed Safari, no problem. But could not find SafariNotifications.
What I have done so far:
Opened "Force Quit" and the only applications listed as open now are "Finder" and "Adobe Application Manager".
Pressed "Continue" on the "Please close..." dialoge
Still asks me to close SafariNotificati
    Opened Safari
Opened Safari Preferences > Notifications Tab
There are no notifications listed. The list is blank.
    Closed Safari again.
Checked Force Quit again (once again the only applications listed are "Finder" and "Adobe Application Manager"
Once again if I try to move on with the install by clicking on the "Continue" button Adobe asks me to close SafariNotificati
    What should I do now?

  • Launching mpeg movies from web AW files

The mpeg movies work fine in author mode and in local
published mode but not on the web. It keeps yielding the message,
"Where is MV***.mpg?" I have placed the AW7 mpeg and runtime
drivers in the same web folder with the AW and movie files but it
doesn't help. Can it be some incompatibility between the movie icon
and the movie itself, or some problem with the movie format? The
    movie parameters I've used are:
    output format: Mpeg1
    codec video: Mpeg-1
    Fps: 25
    Bitrate: 1152
    codec audio: MP3
    Frequency: 44100
    Bitrate: 224

    The movie

    Should work fine.
    But you need to
    a) add the MPG files to the files list in One Button
    Publishing - if they
    are not here already
    b) make sure Authorware knows where they will be once
    downloaded. Default
folder for downloaded files **that are in the same folder as
    your Authorware
file*** is a subfolder of the plugin folder called downloads.
    b) is probably what is most likely to have caught you out,
    because
Authorware still looks in the same folder as itself, instead
    of in the
Downloads folder. You can either move all you movies to a
    subfolder, relink
them, then repackage, or else add Downloads to the
    SearchPath.

  • Acrobat Pro XI Create PDF from web page will only create first page.

Whether I try from within Acrobat or using the convert button on the Adobe toolbar my PDF cuts off at the bottom of page one and will not create subsequent pages including the rest of the webpage content.  I've played with several settings.  Any idea why?

I think I might have this problem too. Only difference is I am using Acrobat Standard. I have Acrobat Standard X on another pc and it works fine. An example of a web site page is https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landing/SearchRegisters.jspx?_adf.c trl-state=1766qhwwjv_4 I am in Australia. I hope you have access to this page where ever you are. Towards the bottom of the web page, there is a list of 3 documents. On my other pc, I can convert to pdf the whole page but on this pc, I only get one page.
