Hello,
What is your outpt of the following command, post it here
lsrnctl statusAnd restart your instance to see if status changes
Go to Control Panel --> Adminstrative Tools --> Services --> look for OracleServiceXXX (e.g. OracleServiceORCL) and try starting it from there, you can change startup type to automatic so ti will start automatically when you reboot your system.

  • Bluetooth Portege 4010 - probs connecting to samsung and motorola phones

I have a portege 4010 with bluetooth. I am trying to connect to our two phones - a samsung sgh-e370 (newish) and a motorola V600 (2 yrs old). Both have BT. I have downloaded and installed the latest Tosh BT stack (4.0.something). Device Manager shows four tosh drivers under BT - all are OK. I have enabled discovery and permit connection on the tosh. I have done the same on the phones. When I run the "Add new Connection" wizard on the tosh, it finds both phones and they show up under devices in BT manager with the names I gave them on the actual phones. However, neither phone picked the tosh up and did not show the tosh as requesting the pin numbers on the phones.
The net result is I now have both phones showing up in BT manager, but if I click on either and choose use/connect I get back the error "Connection failed"
If I try to find the portege using the phones, the samsung finds it but the motorola does not. I can't get the motorola to pair with the tosh - it justs says "Unable to pair with portege".
    Any help gratefully received.

    Hello
I really don't know what is problem in your case but I have done this few times with my Motorola RAZR V3 and it works fantastic. The whole thing was finished for 1 minute. I hope you do this in right order but I write to you which steps I have done:
    1. activate Bluetooth using FN+F8 key combination
    2. install all new hardware components if necessary (few of them)
    3. start Bluetooth stack
    4. activate the Bluetooth on the mobile phone (discoverable)
    5. choose Express mode > Next
    6. Choose visible device listed in 'Bluetooth device list' > Next
    7. Choose pass key for identification (1234)
    8. Enter the key into mobile phone. Paring will be success
I have done it on this way and now I can send all documents to my Tecra. If you want to use it as modem you must do this:
    1. After paring Go to Next and configure the internet connection
    (provider number) > Finish
    2. the new connection will be created in Bluetooth stack utility
    3. you can start the dialing up with double click or click with right mouse button and choose 'Connect'

  • Prob. connecting to the R/3 thru NDS's SAP Logon Info. while Model Creation

    Hi,
I'm trying to create an RFC model in webdynpro. In the SAP Logon information screen, I entered all the neccessary information on the Single Server Tab (host name, Sys. No., client, username, pwd., lang.). When I click on Next it throws an error message saying that the user name is not authorized. But I am able to login to the system through SAPGUI though with the same information. I'm unsure what the problem is. Could it be a firewall issue, service issue, any configuration I'm missing??? Please help me out!
    Thank You in advance,
    Ashwin

    hey Rich,
Thank you for the help. I know that was a very wierd problem. It's fixed now. What happened was that, we are running 2004s and I wasn't aware of the fact that you need NWDS 7.0 to support that. I was running 2.0.9. I just now installed 7.0.7 and the connection to the backened was established as smooth as a cheese cake. Neways, I just lost a fistful of hair in last couple of days. Hope this info helps somebody who encounters the same problem. Points are assigned to you for your effort though...
    Thank you again!!!

  • Probs connecting 13"MBP to HDTV via Receiver

    Hi guys,
I tried to hook up my MBP to my HDTV via my Onkyo receiver using the Mini Displyport-HDMI cable.I got a weird colour screen on my MBP and then it went blank, with no picture on either the HDTV or the MBP.
I then tried connecting directly to the HDTV using the same cable and it worked fine.
Has anyone any ideas as to why i'm having problems connecting through the receiver?
    Cheers,
    Gary

The receiver isn't a monitor, so it doesn't look like a monitor to the computer, and apparently it isn't "transparent" enough to let the computer see through it to your monitor or TV set.
You may want to connect the computer's video signal directly to the TV and use the receiver only for the audio, via a separate audio cable from the computer's headphone port.

  • Probs connecting through PCMCIA USB 2.0 card

    Hi,
Looking to see if others are having this problem, and hopefully someone who's resolved it:
I have no problems connecting iTunes to my iPod (60G) using the built-in USB 1.1 port on my laptop, other than it's a terribly slow connection. I bought a USB 2.0 CardBus (PCMCIA) PC Card Adapter from CompUSA (I believe this uses a NEC USB chipset), and can't get the iPod to connect through that port. I can successfully use other devices using that card - USB mouse, and USB memory keys - no problems at all.
I'm running Windows XP Home SP2 on a Dell Inspiron - I mention this, as I've noticed a few other posts around the internet various problems with PCMCIA cards on Dell laptops, and perhaps it's relevant.
The first few times I tried this, I was getting a BSOD with a "BADPOOLHEADER" error. Tried rebooting several times, same thing. After running the 5R's (all of them, which took quite a while on the USB 1.1 port), I no longer get the BSOD. However, when I connect the iPod to one of the USB 2.0 ports in the card, I'll get:
a "Do not disconnect" message on the iPod, and a "Removable Disk (F:)" icon shows up in a My Computer window, but iTunes can't make a connection to the iPod. Sometimes the Do Not disconnect message goes away, and the iPod returns to it's normal menu, and sometimes it just keeps the message there (even when I disconnect the USB cable - which then forces me to reset the iPod).

  • Getting round the leopard/router/wireless connection problem

I was completely unaware that so many people were having problems with wireless connections in leopard until last night mine died! I'm not 100% sure mine is the same issue yet, as most people seem to have been saying they can recover connection via reboots/restarts etc. We have lost our connection completely, and can't seem to recover it at all.
We have 4 macs on the go here - two running on tiger, which have no probs connecting, and two brand new machines running on leopard - one 3 months old, one 2 weeks old. both are suddenly unable to connect to the internet, yet can detect the router sporadically.
Now, the debate seems to be between those who say the router is entirely at fault, and those who say mac shouldn't be ignoring the issue, and should provide some sort of fix to counter what is presumably a fairly universal issue. I don't really mind who gets the blame but i would like to be able to resolve the issue - and seeing as i can't download any updates even if apple did make a fix, i'll have to deal with it from the router end!
so could people post up makes and models of routers that have been categorically proven to work with leopard please? and don't just cop out with airport extreme and time capsule - we can't all afford that! Any help much appreciated, and apologies for the longwinded ramblings!

I'm having the same problem as you. If you downgrade to 10.4 or boot those machines off a 10.4 boot disk you will most likely find the problem disappears as is my case. Or plug them in wired to at least get updates.
One way to rule out your router is to see if the Leopard machines can see other Wireless networks in your area (the Tiger machines should see them).
In my case my Mac Mini (running Leopard) cannot see any networks ... it just network scans and finds nothing ... although there are at least 10 networks close by as verified by my working Macs.
Once can surely assume that every router in the neighborhood didn't suddenly stop working when I upgraded to Leopard.
Interesting note everything did work for me in Leopard for a while (as was your case as well). And every now and then the Mini still picks up the router (which is right beside it).
The genius I spoke to said that this problem seems to occur with certain hardware configurations (or revisions of the airport card) and suspects a corrupt system file is the culprit ... as wireless networking and Leopard works fine for most people.

  • Airport problem with WEP

    Hi,
I started having problem connecting to WEP 40/128-bit ASCII access point after installing the following updates.
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n305031
I always get an error something like..
"There was an error connecting on the airport network etc...."
We have 1 iMac, 1 Macbook, and 1 Macbook pro that has this prob after installing the update. The rest of our Macs (i.e. iMac Intel/PPC) doesn't have prob connecting at all. Only Macs updated with the airport update and 10.4.9 version.

Make sure you are using the WEP "Equivalent Network Password" when connecting non-Apple computers/devices to an AirPort base station.

The client request it's going trough an ASA, in the ASA side I see that the TCP connection it' half-open with SAaB flags. It seems that the VIP never replies with SYN+ACK to the ASA...
    Thank you.
    Best regards

    Hi Norberto,
The log messages you are getting are most probably the probe connections and not a failure, looking to them you will see your ACE is establishing TCP connection on 4444 then it will teardown the connection with FIN which is expected since you are using TCP keepalives.
I would recommend to go back and define the problem exactly, what are you exteriancing when you try to telnet on port 4444 toward the VIP from the client?
Run sniffing software on the client, the server and enable capture on ACE and ASA will give you exact idea what you are experiencing.
Note: The ASA and the ACE has great capture feature which will show you exactly the packet flows.
Note: Since you are applying NAT on the client requests, you should see the NATed IP address on the server capture.
Note: With L4 load balancing the ACE is not spoofing the clients' request, it just forward the SYN, SYN+ACK and ACK between the server and the client.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Best regards,
    Ahmad

  • Guide to remove power supply

Hi. I have a PowerMac G4 Sawtooth and it does nothing when you press the power button. I think it is the power supply that is the problem. I have a replacement power supply, but how do i get the old one out? Is there a guide somewhere? Or could someone make one that gives me the basics to get it out?

Before you remove the power supply, you should check for "Trickle Power". Without this 5 Volt supply, your Mac has no hope of starting, and with it, your Power supply is likely working.
With the Mac nominally off, but the AC power cord plugged into the wall socket, and the main 20-pin DC power connector still attached to the motherboard, measure the voltages by inserting a meter probe into the rear of each crimped wire connection. The black probe connects to any ground wire (typically black) on the same connector. More information and the pinout diagram in the article.

  • Data from SerialPort

Does anyone know how to read data from voltage probes connected to a serialport? I got javax.comm to compile and the port (COM1) is being recognized, but I am having trouble actually reading the data. I am confused on how to use inputstream or if it will even work for what I want to do...any thoughts?
    Thanks
...the probes are actually connected to an analog which is connected to a serialport--does that make a huge difference?...is it still possible to read the volts?

You need to look into the javax.comm API.

  • Software Download for Airport Express/Airtunes?

Hey all. I decided to hook my Sony speaker system up to my amplifier and hook back up my Airport Express. So I know I need to add the Airtunes software to my Macbook (iTunes) to be able to run it. Unfortunately I no longer can find the CD that Airport Express came with. How am I able to get the software now? I have searched alot of sites online and can't sem to find a download anywhere. Can someone help me out and point me to where I can get it. Thanks so much!!

    Hi Duane
I'm still having trouble. I did as you said. I have connected the Airport Express to my Sony amplifier and have plugged it in. Amber flashed for a minute or two and now it is solid green. I went to the Airport Admin Utility as it suggests in the help URL you posted. However no base station appears when it scans. It is not seeing it or some reason. Did I miss something? Is there a setting on my Macbook that needs to be adjusted?I havent used the Airport Express in a couple years. I did reset it with a paper clip as another help area suggested and then trued to rescan it but still doesnt show up as a base station. I am using it in conjunction with the existing wireless network in my house and my Macbook that I purchased the end of last year. I have no prob connecting to internet on my Macbook. Please help!
    Thanks
    Jason
