Probably super simple...ACL/VLANs

I have a VLAN 6 that is dedicated to a Partner organization (they share our bandwidth and schedule conference rooms with our Exchange).
Question is how do I configure ACLs to direct ALL traffic to and from Partner, exception of accessing our Outlook Web Access and DNS servers in VLAN 1, and our websites in VLAN 2 ?
This is probably super simple but I keep ending up with traffic going where I don't want it to. Thanks so much...
(And if anything else seems wacky about this setup, blame the last IT guy)

What is the platform you are using??? ASA, router??

Probably a simple solution, but . . .

Hi there - There is probably a simple fix to this - and it probably doesn't even matter, but I'm curious. When I attach an exported file to an email, it is attaching as a picture of the document, rather than as an icon with the document's name. The thing is, it used to attach as the icon and not the actual document. I know it probably doesn't matter, but I liked it better when attaching the icon representing the doc. I've probably hit a button or flipped a switch I didn't know I hit or flipped, but where is it and how can I reset it? Thanks a lot!

I may not have understood the original question. The comment and action James has posted would relate to whether a file would View in Place as you compose -- it does not impact what is sent.
However, I thought you were describing the file Icon as having a Preview or Thumbnail, and not a full View in Place? If a file has a photo-like thumbnail, it is the result of the saving of the file, and not something in Mail.
Please clarify?

Probably a simple SQL Query - Newbie

I want to select entries from a table that has 2 columns where the first column value is contained within the 2 column....Does that make sense?
The first is a varchar that contains a value for a customer. The second is a varchar that contains a a textual description of a problem the customer has. My problem is that I only want to select the entries in the table where the second column contains a description that includes the first column value.
eg. I want to select rows that have the following condition:
column1 has value of "customer1"
column2 has a value of "an error was reported by customer1 on service blah"
but not these
column1 has value of "customer1"
column2 has a value of "an error was reported by customer2 on service blah"
This is probably a simple question but I've spent time looking at how to do it and can't seem to manage...any help would be appreciated....Thanks

I've never used the CONTAINS operator before. I compared the use in this situation to the other methods and found the others to be FAR less resource intensive, despite working on unindexed columns, as I demonstrate below.
It would seem that CONTAINS is unsuited to this type of simple query. Can you shed any light on this, from the perspective of somebody who has used it before? Is this type of performance penalty normal? If so, it could seem that CONTAINS is fairly useless next to LIKE.

Probably a simple solution to tweak a particle preset, please help

I am doing an effect for a friends video where a UFO is hanging in the air. I have tweaked the look of the 'Pulsing Laser Star' to what I want, however, the camera pans from the actors face to the light. I can't figure out how to already have it there. it's always births from nothing. I have tried setting the birthrate to 0 and the initial number up but that doesn't do it. I haven't used Motion all that much but I liked the look of this particle. Probably something simple. Can anyone offer any advice?

Simple ACL outside interface

Hello,
Does a router require a Firewall license in order to apply an ACL in the inward direction on an outside interface? I have a router which I use to NAT our internal network and I want to apply a simple ACL to block unwanted access to the router from the internet. As soon as this ACL is applied the users cannot browse the internet. I do have a couple of other ISR routers with a firewall license and I use the inspect commands. This is an ASR which may be different, but I do not have the firewall license applied to this router.
Any help would be great.

Questions on making a super simple dvd

I have a few (probably simple!) questions about making a dvd with iDVD. I made the movie in iMovie using the computer's camera and imported it into iDVD no problems. 1st question - how can I put track markings in? 2nd question - I don't want any fancy themes or anything, just a simple black page at the beginning with a title, or even nothing at all, just straight into the movie. How can I do this? 3rd question - I recorded it with an external mic, but the sound is quite soft. I increased it to 150% in iMovie (any more than that and it started to have an electronic kind of buzz); can I increase it anymore in iDVD?

Ok, so I will start this by admitting I know almost nothing about AS3 and very VERY little about programming as a whole.
I'll post my code below and you'll probably think I'm an idiot for not knowing what's wrong with it, but that's ok, lol. I keep getting "1120: Access of undefined property..." with a whole bunch of different problems, all involving the movement of a character that I'm trying to create for a game I'm attempting to make. If you can please tell me what I'm doing wrong and if possibly explain it as if I know nothing about programming, it would be very much appriciated. I've been working on this for a while now and am not getting anywhere, and I just know the answer is something very simple I'm missing. Once again thank you very much in advance for an answer,

Also a quick note is it worked great in AS2 with a few differences but I was told to use AS3 and when I changed it over and rewrote a few things it no longer works, thank you once again.

Whenever you get errors, you help others to help you by including the complete error messages in your posting. I cannot say for sure that the following line is a problem, but you can try changing it to see if an error goes away...

Then you will need to make some changes to update the code to be relevant to AS3. The Key class does not exist in AS3, so all of your Key.isDown() code won't work.
Also, _x and _y are x and y in AS3
You're best bet will probably be to search Google using terms like "AS3 Keyboard move tutorial" to get the info you need to do what you want in AS3

Probably a simple newbie question...

Hi. I'm teaching myself DVD SP (4.2) by putting together a very simple project but am stumped on what's probably an obvious solution.
I have as my first play a quick slideshow with an accompanying music track. It automatically goes into my main Menu as its End Jump. I'd like that music track to continue on uninterrupted into the Menu. How do I do that? Right now it cuts out as it goes into the Menu.

Make the slideshow in the other apps or you can change the slideshow to a track (make sure to make a copy it is only one way conversion) then bring that into a track (or add the other elements to the end of the converted slideshow) and use buttons over video to make a "menu"
Often you can make the similar slideshow quickly in iMovie or iPhoto if needed then bring that into FInal Cut (or AE) to finish the rest of the movie

Probably a simple answer to a simple question

I used all of my hard earned money to enjoy this wonderful device sent down from heaven. Now after 33 hours of trying to make my very un-cooperative computer work with this thing I have a really simple problem to you but to me its like nuclear physics. (actually 2 things come to think of it) I finally imported all of my music into the itunes. I first put like 6 songs on the i-pod just to try it out. Now in i-tunes its very organized. I can search by song, artist, album etc. In the ipod I can only search by song, when I try to search by artist I only got one album name in the artist section out of the six songs??!! how do I make it nice and neat on the ipod? The other question is I would like to know how when I download audio from Limewire to set it so it goes right into my itunes library. PLEASE will someone help me. THANKS!!!

Ok my tags are labeled correctly. When I right click a particular song in I-tunes and then click on "get info" I check the song, artists, album etc titles and they are correct. So back to my original problem, Everything seems to be labeled and organized correctly in I-tunes. When I am trying to browse in the I-pod I cannot look up certain songs by artists... This is probably a simple solution, but, so far, not for me.

I have a MacBook running Tiger. I moved my iTunes Library to an external HD. iTunes works fine for me, but I'd like all the accounts on my machine to be able to access iTunes easily. I've repaired permissions, changed permissions, etc. all to no avail. My sons and wife cannot use my iTunes library.
Is there a simple setting I can use so that all the accounts on my MacBook can use, listen to, add to and access my iTunes library? Any help is appreciated.

Where is your iTunes Library file located? For your purposes, it should be in the ~user/Music/iTunes folder. If you moved it to the eHD, you should ideally copy that file (and iTunes Music Library.xml) back to your Mac, then launch iTunes with the Option key pressed down, then Choose Library.., then point to where you moved it back to.
The basic principle is this : if you want all users to have their own playlists etc, then everyone needs their own iTunes Library file, preferably in their own user account, in the Music/iTunes folder.

Finally, if you are having problems with permissions on an external drive, I'm wondering how it is formatted? If in MS-DOS FAT32 it MAY be the cause of your problem, in which case you should back up everything on there and reformat to Mac OS X Extended.

Won't display images - Its probably something simple!

Ive been trying for ages, looked throught the tutorials (i have even tried just using java pasted from the site for one of the simple programs) and looking through old forum questions but can't find out why my GUI wont display images. It compiles fine but then when i run the program ... no pics!
I suspect its something to do with the directory, i have tired:
- putting the images in the same directory as the java classes,
- putting in the entire image location paths (for this i get illegal characters error because it has '\' in the path but i get round this using '\\' ) but still no joy.
Like i said am just using the example programme from the site so i know its correct, Any ideas??

Here is a simple program to test:

frame.setVisible(true);a) Place "image.jpg" is the same directory as the source and class files.
b) Don't use any package names for you class.
c) Compile using javac, not through and ide or anything.
d) Make sure your classpath includes ".", so it will search the current directory.

The easiest way to do this is with BASIC authentication in your web application.
Here's the simplest deployment descriptor possible to do basic security

Change the following tags to reflect your own needs:
url-pattern (the actual directory or files that you need protected)
role-name (put the user or group that you are allowing access to -- make sure that the two role-name
tags both have the same entry, the same way it is outlined above)
Now throw in a weblogic.xml file in the same directory. Simplest example is:

need more detailed information.
