Problem -10401(LabView-calibration)

I have the PCI-MIO-16E-4 DAQ with
CB-68LP. My problem is that I can't calibrate the card because error -10401
appear. The first person that will tell me the correct answer I promise that
I sent him a high T bismuth superconductor from Colorado superconductors

You didn't mention if you had tried anything in the way of troubleshooting, or
checked the NI KnowledgeBase. A quick search suggests that perhaps you need to
wire the device number of your E Series DAQ device into the task ID input,
assuming you're using the Calibrate VI all by its lonesome.
This advice probably isn't worth the superconductor, but I appreciate the
incentive!

  • Problems with camera calibration

    Hi!
I am trying to create a project that realises stereo vision with two cameras using the VIs provided by LabVIEW. During development I ran into problems with the calibration of my camera(s).
    My questions are:
I would like to calibrate the camera-images with the IMAQ Learn Camera Model VI. For this purpose I have to show the camera a calibrational image (containing a group of points) in different angles. However even after multiple shots the value of the Insufficient Data part of the Internal Parameters output remains TRUE. I also experienced the same thing while running the Stereo Vision Example.vi. I held the calibrational image according to the directions in both cases. I would like to know what does this VI need for finishing succesful computations? Is the implementation of other VIs is necessary (apart from IMAQ  Calibration Target To Points - Circular Dots VI)?
Another question: If I give a TRUE value to the Add Points And Learn input, will the VI use every previously given data for computation or it will use only the currently received values until I change it back to FALSE to start accumulating data after that?
I generated the data to the Reference Points input with the IMAQ Calibration Target To Points - Circular Dots VI. Are there other VIs with which I should use the Learn Camera Model VI?
Apart from the things listed above a general description of this VI (and the other calibrational VIs) would be very useful and maybe a simple example program that illustrates the function and work of the Learn Camera Model VI.

    Hi nagy.peter.2060!
I found just a few hints and example:
    Learn Camera Model
This VI has 2 images as input, Calibration Template Image and Grid Image
When First Image comes as input, we have to wire that image to Calibration Template Image.
We will only learn Grid of Calibration Template Image if and only if no Camera model is attached to the image.
If no camera model is attached, we have to learn Grid and calculate camera model and attach calInfo to Calibration Template Image
If Calibration Template image and grid image both are present, we have to learn grid of Grid Image and attach calInfo to Calibration Template Image.
I searched for examples related to camera calibration.
The example number 1666 illustrates how to use a calibration grid, either with a live acquisition or from a file, to correct for perspective distortion. The example documents the process for calibration as you learn a grid, apply the calibration information to your image, and then either correct the entire image or convert individual pixels to real-world distances. Link: http://ftp.ni.com/pub/devzone/epd/1666.zip
I found an other example without description, but it uses Learn Distortion Model VI. Please find the image of the VI attached, I hope it will be useful.

  • Run-time engine problem in Labview 2009 and Labview 2010

I have a problem with Labview 2009 and Labview 2010. I updated my Labview 2009 into 2010. But it turned out to be a trial one, because i did not have the serial number. So I uninstalled the Labview 2010. however, the funny stuff came over. I cannot use my Labview 2009. So i uninstalled Labview 2009 again. But eventually, I could not reinstall Labview 2009. Every time i had a runtime error and i could not proceed with the installation. in addition, any installation  related to Labview is not permitted and the same error came up every time. it is very annoying.
    So, What is the deal?
I attached the error here. Any comments or advice are welcomed and appreciated.

By chance is this machine's language set to any non-English locale?  You would check the locale setting by:
    Opening Control Panel.
    Opening "Regional and Language Options".
Looking Under "Regional Options" >> "Standards and Formats"
If it is set to something besides English, trying setting it to English and please report back what locale it was set to (or if this even solves the problem).

  • Problems Installing LabVIEW

Problems Installing LabVIEW Run-Time Engine for Ubuntu 11.04
I'm relatively new to Ubuntu and its community, but have been pleasantly surprised with how easy troubleshooting has been. Unfortunately, I've spent the last two days trying to install the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine, but keep coming up short.
I've tried a number methods from the following threads to no avail:
The problem I'm having now is that despite having the ia32-libs, here is what comes up:
    Input: "sudo alien - k --scripts labview-2009-rte-9.0.1-1.i386.rpm"
Response: "labview-2009-rte-9.0.1-1.i386.rpm is for architecture i386; the package cannot be built on this system".
Alien is required because Ubuntu isn't compatible with the .rpm format.
Your help would be immensely appreciated since we use LabVIEW programs to display, manipulate and simulate our spectra.

I work in the power conversion industry and do these types of measurements all the time…
Do you want to just measure power quality or create and measure power quality problems?
    What hardware are you using?
    Power quality analyzer?
    Programmable AC power source?
    Fast Transient Generator?
Here is an example of what I do.
To create PQ problems I use a California Instruments AC source set to nominal power for the unit under test. Using Labview I program several transients consisting of fixed and random duration dropouts and surges. I also use a Schaffer Fast Transient Burst Generator to apply high frequency noise bursts directly onto power lines.
For measuring power quality I use a Voltech PM3000A power analyzer and Labview to measure everything from voltage, current, and frequency, to  harmonics and %THD

  • Problems with LabVIEW 7.1 and lock-in amplifier Stanford SR530?

Does has anybody had problems with LabVIEW 7.1 and the instrument driver for the lock-in amplifier Stanford SR530?
With LabVIEW 6 there are no problems at all, but with LabVIEW 7.1 it is impossible to communicate with the instrument.

Here is the code and snippet. I had it from before. It reads Channel 1 and Channel 2 from the SR530, that is whatever the display is for Channel 1 & 2. You set the display manually or programmatically, I let you figure that part out.

  • Strange math-problem with LabVIEW 7.1

    Hello!
I am using LabVIEW 7.1 and I came to this strange math-problem. Could it be that it is a problem of LabVIEW 7.1?
Ok try this with LabVIEW 7.1:
    open a new VI
place a subtract-VI (pallet numerical) on the block diagram and try to subtract 0.2 from 1.6
place a less-VI (pallet compare) on the block diagram and wire a numerical constant 1.4 to input x
wire the result of the subtraction to input y of the comparison
place an LED to the output of the comparison
    and start this.
    What does it say?
The LED should turn on and this means here that 1.4 would be less than 1.4 .
But I would have expected that 1.4 is not less than 1.4 .
This works also if you add or subtract upto 0.2 to/from the values 1.4 and 1.6 (or equivalent with 0.2) .
If you change the inputs of the comparison then the result is as expected and 1.4 is reported not to be less than 1.4 .
If you compare two constants with the same value 1.4 you will not get the same strange result.
Does anybody have an explanation for this?

    Hello,
For floating point math: Rounding to multiples of 0.1 is problematic as
those numbers are infinite fractions in base2 representation...
So maybe you should change your numbers to integers using fixed point math. If all your input values are in the range of 1.4 to 1.8 you can multiply by 10000 and round to next integer. Then do your comparison on that integer (there's also an 'InRange' function in the comparison palette).

We have a program in LabVIEW 7.1 running on Windows 2000.  We plan to upgrade all of our computers to Windows XP.  Will there be any problems installing LabVIEW 7.1 onto Windows XP?

    Hi,
No, you won't experience any problems with that upgrade.  LabVIEW 7.1 is fully compatible on Windows XP, just as it is on Windows 2000.

it seems to be very very hard to install Oracle 9i on Debian Etch, I found this on the net :
    > Is it possible to install Oracle 9i on Debian etch?
So far I have had no luck due libraries requirement.
    I appreciate any suggestions.Officially no.
Unofficially, you should be able to with a loooot of tweaking. The
secret is in the "compat" libraries. Basically Oracle is a binary
distribution and relies on gcc296 - not gcc3. You should also get your
own jdk install. Get 1.1.8 (yep - good old one) and use it to run the
installer. With Oracle9i there's no gurantee that the jdk in the
installer will run on your distro. Luckily you can override the jdk with
    your own.
If anyone knows a simple way to do it, I'd like to know, but I'd rather give up about this idea
It seems to be to tricky for my poor Linux knowledge

  • Problem with Labview and an ARM Cortex

    Good morning,
I am currently trying to use Labview with a board from ST Microelectronics (MCBSTM32) with an ARM Cortex Processor.
I use the SDK and have followed the tutorials.
But, when I try to launch the program (the simple loop as write in the tutorial n°2 : http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7029 ), Keil gives me an error via Labview:
"Argument 'DARMSTM' not permitted for option 'device'."
It seems that Keil does not allow an ARM Cortex from ST as the device.
Moreover, after having this problem, I am unable to use a Keil project ,even a project which worked before, without Labview. I need to restart the computer.
I also try to launch the Keil project generated by Labview, without using Labview, and it works. But as soon as I use Labview, I have the error.
Did anyone already have this error or know how to solve it
Thank you for your answer and sorry for my bad english.
    Regards,
    Raphaël VAISSIERE

    Hi Raphi,
So let me make sure I understand,
The project created in LabVIEW errors out with the message "Argument 'DARMSTM' not permitted for option 'device"
If you open the same project in Keil uVision, it runs fine
    Here are my questions:
    1. So how does the code run when run through Keil? does it deploy and run fine?
    2. Did you follow the porting procedure completely?
Your target STM32F103RB  is techincally supported by Keil but you need to port the RTX kernel to it. This paragraph explains it:
To determine if your target already supports the RTX Real-Time Kernel, browse to the \Keil\ARM\Startup directory, then browse to the folder that corresponds to the manufacturer of your ARM microcontroller. If there is an RTX_Conf*.c file for your target, then the RTX Real-Time Kernel has already been ported for your ARM device. If no such file exists, skip to chapter 4 for more information on the RTX Real-Time Kernel and a guide for porting RTX to your ARM microcontroller.
You also need to port the Real-Time agent to it.
I just want to make sure that you have followed the guidelines. If you have and are still having problems, we will continue to explore this.

Hello. Im a new beginner in Labview and am having a problem with a error message

The program is written by a guy on my university, and logs voltage from

with it, or possibly guide me to someone who could suggest a solution to this
    problem.

    Hi Chrisdee,
(.. not to discount what TimoS has suggested, however...)
Embedded in the error information you provided:
    ... Can't open file : 'solcelledata.MYD'.
Sounds like the program needs this file?  Has the program been moved to a new location?
    just a wild guess!

  • XY Graph Cursor Problem in Labview 7.1.1?

    Hallo,
I am  using Labview 7.1.1 and I am facing one problem with XY graph cursor. If I am moving cursor in one graph, I am expecting same movement in another Graph. But when I move cursor in Graph1, cursor in second graph moves but not to exact X value of Graph1.
Property of Cursor in both graphs must be "Lock to Plot"
If any body knows about this please let me know ASAP. I am attaching example VI for your reference.
    Thanks,

It's a curious effect. Probably the floating point coordinate is sensitive to the exact pixel alignment (I mean that this would not happen if we had for example 1 pixel per point in the X direction).
Anyway, if you use Cursor Index instead (which is an integer) the behaviour is as expected.

  • Problems calling LabVIEW VI through ActiveX inside another LabVIEW VI

    Hi everybody,
basically I would like to create an ActiveX to be inserted in a LabVIEW VI which at its turn would call another LabVIEW VI.
I have choosen Visual Basic to create this ActiveX, being the main section code:
    Dim lv As LabVIEW.Application
    Dim vi As LabVIEW.VirtualInstrument
Dim names(0 To 1) As String, values(0 To 1) As Variant
'Assign an object reference to VI
    Set lv = New LabVIEW.Application
'Assign an object reference to VI
    Set vi = lv.GetVIReference(lv.ApplicationDirectory & "\Examples\General\Strings.llb\Parse Arithmetic Expression.vi")
vi.ShowFPOnCall = False 'Open front panel if requested
'Initialize the variables & define the strings corresponding to the VI connector labels.
    names(0) = "Arithmetic Expression": values(0) = "1+1"
    names(1) = "Result"
    'Call the VI
    vi.Call names, values
So, when this ActiveX executes this code sequence it locks when creating the "LabVIEW. Application" object. I have tested this ActiveX from another client application (Internet Explorer) and it works perfectly, so the problem is located in the creation of ActiveX from LabVIEW. Do I need to do anything special in my code or simple it cannot be done what I want to do?
    Thanks !!!
    Jesus Valero
    Plataforma Solar de Almeria.

Exactly, but really the code of above it's only an example that I want to do. I'm trying something more sophisticated.
I want to create an ActiveX control that could work as stand alone executation with the ability of directly get some indicator values from its LabVIEW VI container and depending of those values, set the control values of others LABVIEW VIs. I really know that within LabVIEW itself I can get/set those indicators/controls, but with this method I think that the diagram block of the LabVIEW VI container can be more simple.
