Problem about partition on window 2003
Dear All
Why I can't see Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR) and Cluster Synchronization Services (CSS) Voting disk When I re-install cluster ware, event though I re-install Window 2003 operation system and delete all partition on share disk then re-partition.
Could you show me how to clear these partions(Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR) and Cluster Synchronization Services (CSS) Voting disk) before re-installing CRS
Thanks so much
There are 2 things you must do.
1, you must remove the symbolic link name using the oracle tool guioracleobjmanager
2, you must format the partitions using logpartformat (or use the clean all command from diskpart)

Problem on installation of windows 2003 Standard Ed. 64 bit with 10 GB RAM
Hi,
I'm trying to install the Oracle 10G R2 on Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition 64 bit on HP machine 64 bit.
My problem is that the Oracle is seeing just 4GB of RAM.
I found some Oracle notes that explain this problem for machine and OS with 32 bit.
Any idea?
Thanks,
SergioAre you installing Oracle 32-bit?
(In that case, the process virtual memory addressing is limited to 2^32 = 4GB. Note also it is virtual, not physical memory)
64-bit editions (e.g. for X64) are available from:

TNS problems in 9i on Windows 2003 Server
Goody day
I have installed Oracle9i Database (and 9i Developer Suite) onto an HP ML370 Server running Windows 2003 Server. My problem is that wherever I need to use the username / password for things like sqlplus, forms, imp, etc I get SERVICE_NAME errors, TNS adaptor protocol errors, Can't resolve SERVICE_NAME and many more in that description field.
Please help.
Thanks
WilliamYou need to look in the listener.ora for the db you want to connect to (did you create one after installing Database product?). Then you need to verify that entries in tnsnames.ora of both DB and DS homes "matches" with listener.ora.
Other than that, it is more likely to have a chance to help out if you provide some details of actions taken and corresponding errors (exact codes and messages). -
Problems working offline using Windows 2003
Hi all,
this is not really a topic for this forum, but maybe some of you had the same problem.
We are working with Symbol Pocket PC / Windows Mobile 2003 / Symbol Pocket Browser 2003 / SAP Mobile Engine.
Our web application consists of an offline and an online part. The offline part is served by the Tomcat/SAP ME which is installed on the device. The offline part works as long as we are in range of the WLAN Accesspoint. As soon as we leave the range, Pocket Browser 2003 notifies that it cannot connect with the current connection settings. But the offline part does not need to connect using the WLAN connection, it just has to connect to 127.0.0.1:4444/some/application.
Our previous configuration was:
Symbol Pocket PC / Microsoft Pocket PC Version 3.0/ Symbol Pocket Browser 2002 / SAP Mobile Engine.
This worked fine.
Did anybody have similar problems? How can we fix it?
Regards SaschaHi,
the problem is that on Windows mobile 2003 the Pocket IE cannot connect to 127.0.0.1 if no active connection is available. I found a fix on microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer. Here is the link:
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=(localhostOR127.0.0.1)+group:microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer.*&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=AE26D501-0D21-46C6-8B94-B8947FBC956C%40microsoft.com&rnum=3
Just follow the steps desribed there and everything works fine.

WSCONFIG Problem - MX6.1 on Windows 2003/IIS6
I'm having a problem with connecting a ColdFusion server
instance to my IIS webserver using the wsconfig GUI. A few months
ago I successfully followed these instructions -
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/coldfusion/articles/multi_instances_print.html
- to configure 4 CF server instances to 4 separate domains on my
IIS webserver.
I now am unable to complete this process for another domain
because when I get to the part where I run the wsconfig GUI to add
the web server configuration, I get the following error message:
"Exception occurred trying to get an MBean"
I found this CF TechNote -
http://www.adobe.com/go/fa9e26a2
- which states that this error is occuring because the wsconfig
utility is executed with the Sun JVM version 1.5. It then gives
this solution:
To resolve this, ensure that wsconfig is executed using a 1.4
JVM version instead. Using wsconfig.jar at the command line is the
most effective means for specifying the JVM 1.4 java executable
when running wsconfig.
My problem is that despite knowing this and using the
examples they give and performing numerous google searches, I'm
still unable to successfully do this.
Please help me solve this problem.Mark,

Xp_logininfo "Installation problem on windows 2003 with Sql 2005"
Hi every one
I am facing a problem during the installation of Solution Manager 4.0 on Windows 2003 server with Ms Sql 2005, I received the following error
Msg 15404, Level 16, State 19, Procedure xp_logininfo, Line 60.
Its some how look likes that the user "SID"ADM
Can any one give me a clue
thanks
Kind Regards
SohailHi All,
This would solve your problem
First of all this error is <b>MSSQL error</b>.
When you perform an action on an instance of SQL Server that requires SQL Server to resolve the credentials of a Microsoft Windows NT domain user account, you may receive an error message that is similar
Server: Msg 8198, Level 16, State XX, Procedure <Stored Procedure Name>, Line <line Number>
Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user '<Domain\Account Name>'.
To resolve the credentials of a Windows NT domain user account, SQL Server uses the xp_logininfo system stored procedure. Here is a list of the common scenarios where you may notice that the xp_logininfo system stored procedure fails and causes the 8198 error.
When you use an xp_sendmail extended stored procedure.
When you set up replication.
When you run a SQL Server Agent job.
SQL Server may run the xp_logininfo system stored procedure to retrieve information about the Windows domains and the user accounts, even if the user does not do so explicitly. Therefore, if you receive an 8198 error message and the error message mentions the xp_logininfo system stored procedure as the procedure, you must use <b>SQL Profiler</b> to trace and to troubleshoot the exact point of failure.

Problems printing via AppleTalk with a Windows 2003 print server
My company is migrating from Windows 2000 Server over to Windows 2003, which is going to be the new acting print queue.
We have a mix of old and new printers (most of them HP), and our Macs have been printing to the printers via AppleTalk. With the new print server, we could not easily find the printers on the network since AppleTalk was not turned on. However, once AppleTalk was turned on, it was easy to find and add the printers. We are good so far. Before hand, I tried to add the printers via an SMB connection, but kept having problems with NT Authentication errors.
I tried printing a test page to the newly added printer, and it came back with this error:
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: languagelevel ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
This is about the best reference I've found so far which relates to this problem:
http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1167812&page=1
Most of the other suggestions I've dug up so far refer to updating firmware or drivers, but I don't think that is the problem. The drivers on the old W2K print server and the new W2k3 server are the same, so it is my opinion that something on the new print server isn't turned on or isn't installed yet.
Any ideas on what the issue is here?"Supposedly" the same exact drivers were installed for the printer -- the same driver that was used on the old print server. Might something else need to be installed?
I've found a few other cases where people are having the same error:
http://www.macfixitforums.com/showflat.php?Board=Forum39&Number=732031
Below is the error that is printed when I print a test page from http://localhost:631
SYSTEM Test Page
%%[Error: syntaxerror; OffendingCommand: --nostringval-- ]%%
%%[Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored]%%
Below is the error that is printed when I try to print a document (I've tried Safari, Preview, and TextEdit).

%%[Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: ]%%

Installation problem on Windows 2003
Hi All,
I have installed the saprfc extension on my laptop for testing purposes.
Definitions of my laptop: Windows XP, IIS 6, PHP 4.4.2, SAP GUI 640
Everything works fine and I can access the SAP through the web server on my laptop without any problem.
Now, after finishing my tests I installed my web application on a real production server with the following definitions: Windows 2003 server, IIS 6, PHP 4.4.2
As you can see the two differences are the operating system and the fact that I do not have a complete SAP GUI installation on the server I only located the librfc32.dll under the windows library.
My problem is that I get the message that the php_saprfc.dll extension cannot be loaded (I edited the php.ini).
Doe anyone have any idea why?
Thanks,
RoyHi,
I have an installation with my laptop WIN2003 server with apache web server instead of IIS, without problems.
Are you sure that in your php.ini is all OK?
Have you tried to copy the WIN2003 php.ini on your laptop and try to load saprfc.dll?

Space Problem in G: - after NW2004s SR1 installation on Windows 2003 server
HI Friends,
I have installed NW2004s SR1 on Windows 2003 server with Oracle 10g database successfully. My server has sufficient harddisk space as follows.
C: 9.6GB
G: 24GB
H:64GB & I: 73GB.
RAM is 6GB
While installing NW2004s i have defined a paging size on C: 400MB-1600MB and
i have set the option as System Manageble on other drives G, H& I drives. I did not get any Swap space problem while installing.
During installation I have chosen G: drive to store MirrorlogA, MirrorlogB, Oraarch, OriglogA, OriglogB folders of Oracle for redolog archives,.Total size of all these folders is 17.4 GB
G: drive has one more folder Program files which is of 155KB and no other files exist in it.
But My system says that I am running out of Space on G: drive and free space available now is only 44MB.
My question is where has the rest 5GB of space gone? Is it consumed as a part of Paging file which i have set on this drive as System manageble??
I have set the same option on other drives too i..e H & I. But i am not facing any space issues for these drives.
What could be going wrong?? Please suggest me how to correct this
Thanks

CF 9 on Windows 2003 installation problem
We've been trying to upgrade CF MX 7.02 (multiserver) to CF 9 on Windows 2003 and installation ended with 2 errors:
Install JRE: C:\JRun4\jre
Status: ERROR
Additional Notes: ERROR - Error Copying the JRE to the destination directory
ZeroGlq: Target file was read only or did not have write permissions and was not overwritten
Web Server Connector Configuration Error
Status: ERROR
Additional Notes: ERROR - JNDI port 2904 for server cfusion is not active
Now Windows can not start JRun CFusion service there at all.
The most weird thing is that we seem to be unable to uninstall what got installed of CF 9: [Remove] button in Add or Remove Programs does not do anything.
It works normally with the other programs but it would not remove CF 9.
The C://JRun4/Uninstall/Uninstall Cold Fusion 9.exe does not execute either while executables have been added into Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance -> Data Execution Prevention.
What would we do at this point?
Thank you!Hi,
Sounds like you got trouble there and I worry suggestions on forum may not be the best or indeed on track.
I guess c:\jrun4 was the same folder that CF7 installed and perhaps CF7 did not uninstall well or upgrade well to what is now a broken CF9. So now your currently not functional at all I guess you can be brutal and apply forceful changes since you seem to be in place where you can not easily go forward or back. How about this?
-rename jrun4
-reboot
-install CF9 again to newly created jrun4 folder
That way you can keep your neo*.xml files to refer and hopefully have a working file set present with CF9 functional.

Installing problem on Windows 2003 Server 64 bit
Dear All,
I'am trying to install XE onto a Windows 2003 Server 64 bit.. The installation process ends without any errors but the database itself seems not to start.
I tried several hints that have been mentioned here within the forum. But none of them worked. While experimenting I saw that there is not a single registry entry of Oracle within HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\Software .
Is there a possiblity to set those needed registry entries manually? Is there a script for that purpose?
Thank you very much for your help!
Regards
MatthiasHi,
thank you for your reply. As 32bit programs should run under Windows 64bit I thought the XE should run under 64bit, too.
The installation of XE itself seems to finish without any errors. But within the log files it can be read that the database has not started up due to a out of memory problem. This causes many log entries within all other logfiles as no database could be created.
The out of memory problem might be the same as within Advice on running XE on a small virtual Linux host ("Virtuozzo") because I am using a virtual windows 2003 server with "Virtuozzo", too.
At this time I am on discussing the issue with the provider. Maybe I will get a dedicated server with Windows Server 2003 64bit. Hopefully the XE could be installed on the 64bit Windows Server because 32bit dedicated servers are rare.
Best regards
