Problem accessing a purchased book after a phone replacement

I had to get my phone replaced and now the iBooks reader won't let me read one of my books.  The book shows up in iTunes as having been purchased, so how do I access this book?

Is the book still in the store for buying (if it's no longer in the store then it won't show in Purchased for re-downloading), and if it is, is it hidden from your purchase history : hiding and unhiding ? Unhiding doesn't appear to work directly on iOS 6 devices (nor hiding), but you should still be able to see if anything is hidden (and if it is, download it if it's not on the device).
And did you try re-syncing it from your computer ? If it's on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to delete the incorrect version from your phone, connect the phone to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes and use the Books tab on the right-hand side to re-sync it.

    From your computer backup.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability by country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple recommends,  "... back up your iTunes library. • HT4059 when I try to access my purchased books, I get a message that says I cannot connect to iTunes

When I try to access my purchased books in iBooks, I get a message that says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store." However, if I go into iTunes, I can connect right up. Why will it not let me see my purchased books in iBooks?

I'm having a similar problem...but mine results from an OS upgrade from 10.6.4 to 10.8.5.
Where did you access a clean copy of Java SE 6?  The link at adobe for archicval plug-ins is a dead download (and it doesn't appear to contain Java SE 6.).

    Hi j.v.fromnc,
One of the advantages of having Pages in iCloud beta is its ability to share with other devices, so it is not surprising you want to be able to access it on your iPad. To begin with you will need to install Pages for iOS on the iPad.
    Pages
Once the document is created in Pages in iCloud, it automatically becomes available to devices using your iCloud account. On the iPad, go to Settings > Pages and make sure that Use iCloud is on. Of course you will want to be using the same iCloud account.
See this article for further information -

  • Problems with opening iBA books after the recent upgrade.

How many folks have had problems opening .iba books after the recent upgrade??
I did !  I completed and delivered a free book which was No: 9 in series - all the others opened OK in iBA after the upgrade except this last one.
I read the forum, none of the offered solutions worked for me.
I contacted support and was eventually asked to upload to there server the original .iba file which I did a few days back.
Today I had a reply to advise they had found and corrected  the probem and gave me  server access info to download a revised file.
The problem turned out to be the "Intro Media" I had dropped an image and not a video, which I have done before without probelms.
Apple support have removed it and the book file opens OK.
I dont know if this will help others who had problems opening files in iBA after the update.
It does seem as though the delivery of content acceptance critera is getting tighter or maybe its my own fault for doding the requirements!

Its seems like the application load may have not completed properly or there were some issues.
Backup all the data on your device then follow the below articles.

  • Problem downloading a purchased textbook after updating iTunes

Is there a problem with the latest iTunes update? I was in process of purchasing textbooks in iBooks and my laptop was installing the latest update. I cannot download the textbook onto my iPad now. It shows as being in the cloud. What happens to this purchase?

  • Problem accessing Time Capsule settings after firmware 7.3.1 upgrade

I understand there are similar posts, but none provide a solution to my problem:
I bought a brand new Time Capsule and set it up. Everything worked fine and I could access it using AirPort Utility. After the initial setup I immediately upgraded the firmware from version 7.3 to 7.3.1. Now, when I try to access or change the settings, AirPort Utility first reports that it is "Reading the Time Capsule configuration...", and after about 2 minutes I get the message
"An error occurred while reading the configuration. -- Please make sure your Apple wireless device is plugged in and in range of your computer or connected via Ethernet and try again. (-6753)"
I performed a hard reset and could then access the settings again for another setup. At the end of the setup, AirPort Utility reports that it's "Writing the Time Capsule configuration...", and after about 2 minutes
"An error occurred while updating the configuration. -- Please make sure your Apple wireless device is plugged in and in range of your computer or connected via Ethernet and try again. (-6722)"
I also tried to access the settings using a direct Ethernet connection to my iMac, but to no avail.
Now, even though I can't access the Time Capsule settings, which is annoying, the device seems to be working: it creates a wireless network and I can access the Time Capsule hard drive.
Any solutions to this problem? Is it possible to revert to firmware version 7.3? Or do I need to wait for a firmware upgrade?

Great, thank you! Looks like this solved my problem.
I performed the reset, and then restored firmware version 7.3 using your great advice to *press the option key when clicking "Check for Updates"*.
I then used the setup dialog, put it my info and passwords, restart... oops, once again, I can't access the settings, even though I'm using firmware 7.3 which used to work when I first set up Time Capsule when it was fresh out of the box.
Reset, do the same thing again, still can't access settings and can't upgrade the firmware.
Reset, *first thing upgrade the firmware to 7.3.1*. I put in my info again, and finally, everything works.
One note: I'm not sure if that matters, but in the last step, I set up Time Capsule using the window that you get when you click the Time Capsule icon in the AirPort Utility. Previously, I would click "Continue" in the AirPort Utility for the assisted setup. This might not matter, but I want to mention it anyways in case it helps replicate this solution.

  • Problem accessing WLSE's GUI after upgrading to 2.7.1

    Hi,
I tried to upgrade from 2.5 to 2.7 and then to 2.7.1, and I can't connect to WLSE anymore with web browser.
In fact, when i'm going to : http://wlse_ip_address:1741, i have the page where i can enter my login/password (which work with telnet as well as console connection) and then there's a loading page which never stops.
So then I tried to install 2.7 from the recovery CD... But same problem again.
Do you have any idea ?
    Thanks for your help
PS : I already checked the possible solutions from "faq".

I found this command last day with a search on the cisco web site on "snmphandler" and i think this can be very helpfull. I will try it this morning with my customer:
    reset device-snmp
Resets the WLSE's community strings to the default.
Caution This command is intended as a last resort; use it only if you cannot restart the WLSE in any other way. You will lose the community strings and must re-enter them as described below under Usage Guidelines.
    Syntax Description
    reset [ device-snmp | help ]
    Usage Guidelines
This command is intended for restarting the WLSE if the tomcat process fails and the cause for the failure was corruption of the SNMP community string file. In that case, the Web interface will not be available, but the CLI will be available. The procedure follows.
Step 1 Log in to the CLI as admin <http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/cscowork/ps3915/products_user_guide_chapter09186a008052db78.html> or as another user who has the System Administrator role.
Step 2 Run the service status command to check the status of the tomcat process. If the status is "Failed to run", proceed to the next step.
Step 3 Run the show tomcatlog command. It should contain these error messages about the SNMP community file:
MESSAGE: SnmpLibHandler: About to initialize SNMP Errors found while
    parsing community strings.
FATAL ERROR: SnmpLibHandler: unable to read SNMP communities file:
    /var/adm/CSCOets/config/cwsi/anisnmp.conf
Step 4 Run the reset device-snmp command.
? The file is reset and previously defined communties are lost.
? The community strings are reset to *.*.*.*:public::10:1:::public.
? The old SNMP community file is placed in the WLSE's log area. To view the file, select Admin > Appliance > Status > View Log File. Select the anisnmp.conf.log file.
Step 5 Log into the Web interface as admin <http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/cscowork/ps3915/products_user_guide_chapter09186a008052db78.html> or as another user who has the System Administrator role.
Step 6 Select Devices > Discover > Device Credentials > SNMP Communities and re-enter your community strings.

  • Problems accessing itunes purchases since subscribing to Match

Since signing up for iTunes Match i can no longer listen to older purchases from iTunes. I get an authorisation request with an old email address in it.  Why is this and how can it be fixed?

  • I am gettin an error message when trying to open a contact: "There was a temporary problem accessing your address book. Please try again in 10 minutes."

I am using an Yahoo Email and I can open a list of contacts but getting an error message when trying to open any of them. My OS is Windows Vista Service Pack 2 installed on a desktop.

Does this issue occur on another browser? If this issue does occur on another browser then I would like to say that it is a Yahoo issue and not a Firefox issue.

  • Recover original phone imei after cell phone replacement by apple

I had my iphone replaced an year ago in apple store, now I want to unlock my phone and I called to my carrier. They asked me for the original phone imei but I don't have it anymore, as I don't have it any longer and I don't have the box and anything, is there anyway to get it?
    Thanks

Have an old backup of this phone still stored on your computer? Look iTunes>Preferences>Devices...if one is listed, hover your mouse pointer over the name of the backup & a popup will appear showing SN & IMEI number. Also, if you setup a support profile, with Apple, you can login & see if the old phone is still listed. If no backup, or support profile, you can "try" calling AppleCare...they should have a record of the exchange & perhaps can supply you with the IMEI number.

  • Can't access purchased books through Family Sharing feature in iTunes.

My wife and updated her iPad and my new iPhone 6 Plus to IOS 8.1, and enabled Family Sharing on all of our devices. I am able to access her purchased books in iBooks, but she is not able to access my books on her iPad. I checked to make sure I did not inadvertently hide my purchased books in iTunes and I did not. I'm not sure what to try next. Any ideas?
