Problem accessing ESS tab in new installation

We have just installed EP 6.0 and when trying to access the ESS tab we get the following error, I'm sure something is not set up correctly but we are having difficulty determining what it is. any help would be appreciated.

On the SAP Service Marketplace under the alias erp, you can find guides that provide you with the necessary information when you implement or upgrade the SAP ERP 2004 components. SAP Note 761266 provides you with information how to upgrade your XSS components.
If you are sure that everything is installed correctly give up a call (OSS) at SAP.

EE cannot access ESS tab in portal
I have an employee and when he/she log-in to thier portal, the ESS tab is missing. He has proper authorization roles and has a user ID in SAP and his/her Co. Code is included in the relevant TVARV table. what could be the problem? Thanks!

The employee has his IT105 subtype 1 maintained, so I think thats not the problem. Would this be a problem on the Portal side not in SAP. Btw, we are using an LDAP enabled directory service. (SAP to LDAP)

User is getting critical error while accessing ESS
Hi Experts,
User is getting critical error message while accessing ESS tabs ( working time , career and job ...etc ).
User account in PORTAL as well as in the ECC Backend is fine.(105 infotype is maintained).
User has valid roles also.
Can anybody please help me in solving this issue.

Problems with new installation of iAS on Windows
This is a new installation of iAS 10.1.2.0.2 on Windows. The application server doesn't come up properly after reboot. The log file D:\Oracle\ora101_infra\opmn\logs\OC4J~OC4J_SECURITY~default_island~1 contains an error stack that begins with:
SSO: DB Error. Please make sure the database is available and restart SSO Server
Obviously, the database (service name OracleServiceIAS472F) is started after the rest of the services (service names similar to Oracleora101_XXX). I have found documentation on how to make the ProcessManager service of the OracleAS Infrastructure before it starts up the ProcessManager service of the middle tier, but no notes on starting the database service in an order different from Windows default. Extensive googling doesn't give me that others have had similar problems. I would like to verify before starting to mess around with the order of services starting at boot time.
The person doing the installation (I don't have direct access to the machine) maintains that installation of WebUtil is causing these problems, and that the problems disappear if he reverts the configuration of WebUtil. I have limited experience with forms configuration and cannot see the connection.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

MariaMaria, we have numerous installations of both 10gDB 10.1.0.5/10gAS 9.0.4.2 and 10gDB 10.2.0.3/10gAS 10.1.2.0.2 here. The environments are all two server configurations: 1 server has DB + AS Infrastructure, 1 server has AS Middle Tier. I have not had an issue with a DB server reboot causing the Infrastructure to not come up, although we have a strict rule of always rebooting these two servers in pairs: first DB then AS Middle Tier. And since there are gazillion MS patches, they do get rebooted frequently. Regards, John

I am very new to updating my iPod touch and this is the first time I've used the iCloud. However, I am having problems accessing any apps on my iCloud such as photos, reminders etc. I've set it up on my iPod touch successfully and I can sign in on my PC. However, when I try to access any of the apps it says there was a problem. It doesn't tell me how to fix it or what the problem is.
Is anyone able to help?It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

I have a problem when I open the new tab. Normaly, I open the new tab as click mouse in button near to last page. " new tab" appear with untitled page. But now , It always appear with web sites wich I don't like. So, How can i repare this problem ?
This feature is likely to have been added by an extension. Check the settings for your extensions to see if they show this feature.

I have just purchased a new windows pc running windows 8 and am unable to install itunes 11 on my machine, when i tick download now it takes me to a screen that wants to show me whats new but has no tab to run installation or continue past whats new

iTunes can only be installed and run in desktop mode. -
I open emails with multiple images. The new version is having a problem opening a tab with more than maybe 6 or 7 images. Older versions sometimes had the same problem but the unopened images appeared on the page as a small blank box that you could try to reload. Not anymore. Now you have to reload the whole tab. Sometimes this works other times it doesn't.
You seem to be using a beta version. Maybe go back to a regular release and wait for V. 30 to become a regular release, and maybe whatever bug it is will be fixed.

I've tried a number of corrections including rerunning apex_epg_config.sql, apexldimg.sql, adding an apex.images parameter to listener startup (just a shot in the dark), deleting and recreating apex.properties, adding and removing trailing /'s, \'s, //'s, \\'s, etc. I didn't have success with any of these approaches, so it may have been cumulative changes that resulted in the problem. I just list them as having tried (at least once).

Yes, I did specify a full path rather than /i/. I think I had originally started with /i/ but didn't understand where /i/ maps to a folder path, so I reinstalled and specified the path with similar results.
I'll test reset_image_prefix.sql and post results.
I'm confused about the EPSQL gateway v. APEX listener. I just tried to follow the documentation which offered multiple options. I am not familiar with either of them, so I can't defend a choice.

Problem accessing BBC News via iPad 2, iPhone or web
Anybody else have these problems - and solutions?
I have continuous, but erratic problems accessing BBC News either through MacBook Pro, iPhone 3G or iPad 2 (64G Wi-Fi & 3G). Until a few months ago, I never had problems accessing BBC News via my computer. Now I often cannot access the site at all, and problems occur whether I use Google Chrome (11.0.696.57)or Safari (5.0.5). Erratically and less frequently, however, the pages load OK. I have no problem loading other news websites, e.g. CNN or Al Jazeera. I live in Spain. My internet provider is Movistar. I have an ADSL connection of 10Mb (maximum available here) and a wireless router. My MacBook Pro runs OS X 10.6.7.
When trying to access BBC through Google Chrome, I get the following message:
Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.bbc.co.uk

Trying to access BBC on Safari, I get this message:

Hence, I contacted Movistar (new name of Telefonica) tech support. I was told they knew nothing about the problem and tried to blame my computer for it. And then they hang up!!! Not impressed!!
I wrote to BBC again on May 19 asking WHO I should contact in Telefonica/Movistar, since their tech support staff claim not to know about the problem As of today, no reply from BBC, so still very frustrated! -

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.

That would be a question for Facebook support. If iPhoto is posting to your Facebook photos then it is up to your Facebook settings what to do next

Problems accessing new internet server
I just switched to Cox for my cable internet service from AOL dial up. When I try to open websites from an email(new email account, not AOL, or click on Apple support form the mac help window my computer tries to open AOL(AOL is still on my computer, but not hooked up when this occurs) and I can't access websites from my new internet provider. How can I get my computer to use my new internet provider, instead of trying to use AOL?
You need to acsess the browser you are using PREFERENCES, and you will need to change your settings under the GENERAL tab .
Go also to your Mac HD and Library and delete anything that has AOL. You will need to resrtart your computer after you make these changes.
The same will be required for setting up your Mail.
You have switched Services and you must re-confiqure everything from AOL to COX.
Changes will need to be made in System Preferences in Network settings to change from Dial-up to DSL.as well.
You are starting from scratch.
