Problem accessing KM documents as link (from e-mail)

Hi All,
We are working on SP17 and using SPNegro for SSO of the Portal.
The SSO to the EP works fine, but when accessing documents from KM through links (that are sent through e-mail), we get a user/password popup.
I read in some notes that: "Document links in e.g. notification mails will only work for documents that anonymous users are allowed to see. As an alternative action inbox channel could be used instead of mails"
Is it related? We are not using anonymous users...
Any ideas?

Hi Aviad,
we had that problem and SAP created that note after the solution was found.
After you applied note 993579, you need to verify the "Authentication schema" of the km url iview.
In portal, go to :
Content Administration.
Go to folder Portal content\Content by SAP\Content for final user\iViews\com.sap.km.iviews\URL Access.
Open properties of Km document iView, show all, then go to "Authentication Schema".
Be sure that it is to default and not basic authentication.

Unable to open links from e-mails

I am unable to open links from e-mails received. This problem has only just occurred. Can you help me please?

I can understand your concern, however can you please let me know that are you able to open both the PDF files ( the one you converted form excel to pdf & the other pdf that was mailed to you ) individually without using any password?
As it asks for the password, it means that the postal mailed PDF is password protected. You can ask for the password from the sender of the postal mail & then try to combine the files.
Please follow the steps in the provided KB doc.to combine the files : Combine files into single PDF | Adobe Acrobat DC tutorials
This will probably resolve your issue.

Error when accessing the "Org unit" link from iview "Who's who"

Hi all,
In our ESS/MSS implementation we have come across to a strange error:
In the master iview u201CWhou2019s whou201D when trying to access the link for the org unit we receive the following error:
Service EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE does not exist.
Indeed the respective service does not exists nor the resources. We have ECC 5.0 and EP 7.0. We were unable so far to find the right (or dedicated) resources/services for this.

Problem accessing shared folders with SMB from a Windows machine

When I reboot my Macmini, I cant access the shared folders from any Windows machine. On the Windows machine, I'm being prompted for my password, but event re-entering my password does help to get access.
The workaround I found is to go to the MacOSX System Preferences, Sharing, File Sharing, Options, and to uncheck and re-check the checkbox Share file and folders using SMB (Windows). Then I can access again the shared forders from a Windows machine and I'm not re-prompted for my password.
This is quite trooblesome to do that everytime I reboot my Mac. Is anybody experiencing the same pb? Any idea to fix it?
Also, since Lion, I'm experiencing some connection interruption, especially when copying big files from my Mac to a Windows machine.

Yes that is basically the only workaround for this problem. By chance do you have a SSD installed in the Mini?
I had this problem on my MBP when I had a SSD installed. Problem goes away with the original drive or a Seagate XT series drive.
If you don't have a SSD installed the only other option is to Wipe the drive and reinstall and test (Make a TM backup first so you can restore if the problem continues with the clean Re-Install).

Firefox won't open links from Mac Mail

Like everyone else Apple Mail links will not open in Firefox if it is already open. Clicking a link brings FF to the front but no page loads. Links work if FF is not open. Links work if command is pressed whilst clicking the link (opens in new tab in background).
Problem occurred after 32.0.2 update, it appeared to briefly resolve itself after 32.0.3 update, but stopped (I think) on next reboot.
Have monkeyed around for ages with different combinations of default browser and rebooting.
Will abandon FF and go back to Safari if this isn't sorted soon - shame.

Work is proceeding on [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1017595 Bug #1017595 – Links from external applications sometimes fail to open when Firefox is hidden] but as you can tell from the title, this is focused on the problem of Firefox not coming out of hiding from the dock or coming out of hiding but not loading the page. If this also occurs when Firefox is not hidden at all, there may be a secondary issue. But hopefully solving the one will solve the other. Unfortunately, I don't know whether it will be in time for Firefox 33.

Accessing parent document div tags from child document loaded inside parent document

I am loading an ASP document (Child)inside another ASP document (Parent) using Include statements.
The parent document has certain div tags which have some properties to be accessed from inside the code in child document using javascript.
Please advise on how to access the parent document varioables and div tags from inside the child document which has been loaded from within the parent document.

Can't use filter when accessing hana table through link from another table in sapui5

Have a strange one and I was wondering if someone had come across this before.
Hana table structure
      entity SalesOrder {
    key element name : String;
    element contact : Association[0..*] to Contact via backlink order;
entity Contact {
element location: Location;
    element order : Association to SalesOrder;

each sales order has a number of contacts.
In javascript, if I bind on list of contacts directly then I can use the filter
oRowRepeater.bindRows("/Contact",oRowTemplate,null,[new sap.ui.model.Filter("location",sap.ui.model.FilterOperator.EQ, "Germany")]);
and if I enter link i returns the number of entries
Contact/$count?$filter=location eq 'Germany'
But if I get contacts through the sales order it doesn't allow me to use the filter,
oRowRepeater.bindRows("/SalesOrder('mike')/Contact",oRowTemplate,null,[new sap.ui.model.Filter("location",sap.ui.model.FilterOperator.EQ, "Germany")]);
I can return the contacts same as accessing them directly and i can get the information such as
new sap.ui.commons.TextView({text: "{location}"}) same as before but only difference is that i can't filter.
When I try the following I get error
/SalesOrder('mike')/Contact/$count?$filter=location eq 'Germany'

When I open Chrome Developer Tools I see the following error

Basically the $count doesn't work if you access contacts indirectly even though the link is there.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Hana is sp8, I am up to date with almost everything.

It seems not possible toaccess from iPad oriPhon documents I saved in iCloud using TextEdit. Is this impossibility true? Seems silly! if not, how can be done?

You can only use TextEdit documents uploaded to iCloud with another Mac with Mountain Lion, but you can use Dropbox to upload the TextEdit documents to the cloud and use them on your iPhone and iPad

Problem accessing Application Ejb Jar files from Apache Axis jars

I have deployed an EAR application, with a structure as shown below,
MyApp.ear
|____ MyApp_Ejb.jar
|____ axis.war
|_____ WEB-INF
|_____ lib (This contains all axis specific jars)
The application deploys just fine. But when i goto happyaxis.jsp and try to view all the web services that have been deployed. I get an exception "No provider type matches QName '{http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java}SDL".
Here SDL is a custom provider that i have written and all the required files for the provider are available in MyApp_Ejb.jar.
I do not get as to why the axis.jar is not able to find classes in MyApp_Ejb.ear, when both these are in the same ear.
Now i know i can add a utility jar to a war files classpath by adding a classpath line in the War file MANIFEST.MF. But since MyApp_Ejb.jar is defined as a Web Module this solution too doesnt help.
Separating the provider related files from MyApp_Ejb.jar is not possible since there is too much dependance of other files within that jar.
So i am looking for a solution where in i can continue to have MyApp_Ejb.jar as my ejb module as well as the axis related jars can find the required classes within MyApp_Ejb.jar. some way of sharing the ejb jar across to axis jars.

Problem Accessing Class in my package from jsp file

Hi,
I am using Apache tomcat server and i have made package which contains a class for database connection. I have imported this package in my jsp file but when i run the jsp tomcat gives the class not found exception. i have placed the jsp file in /webapps/my_project/ folder and the package in the /webapps/my_project/WEB-INF/classes/ folder.
Still its not working.
Please help me out!!!!!!!!

Thanks for ur reply. You have guessed it right, i dont have a .jar file its a .class file in a package subfolder. I have tried out ur suggestion but it didnt work. The following error i shown when i run it.

Access to 3rd party email from BT Mail

I asked this question about a year ago but didn't get a satisfactory reply because the email migration was in full flow and there were lots of problems
I have a BT Mail account which I use from home. I also have a couple of business email accounts which I would like to incorporate into the BT account so when I'm at home I only have to login to one account. I have the 2 business accounts defined in BT Mail and I can view the messages. However, when I wish to reply to one of the business emails I don't get the option of sending the email as the business email address. I used to be able to do this with the Yahoo account before it changed to BT.
Any ideas how I can get this to work? I don't want to install Outlook or Thunderbird.

Why does Firefox load an old links (from e-mails or a previously played POGO game) when it first opens instead of my homepage?

Every time I receive an (Outlook) e-mail with a link, Firefox will open and navigate to the link, but then seems to remember and reopens that link every time I start Firefox, instead of loading my homepage. If I receive another e-mail (with a new link), and I navigate to the new link or the wife plays a POGO game then it opens each time I start Firefox. I currently using version 4, but the problem has been going on since approximately the last 3 or 4 updates.

Open the Firefox preferences (from the "Tools" menu, choose "Options"). In the "General" section, you can change the "When Firefox starts..." option to show your home page, instead of showing your tabs from last time.

Problems with printing MS Office docs from web-mail in Safari

Hello,
I have some problems when I try to print MS Office documents which are the attachments in my web-mail in Safari. I open the attachment online without saving it on my computer. Safari shows a blank page in Print Preview and the printer prints a blank page too. We tried to repeat it with another printer and with another iMac. The result is the same. PDF files have no problem with previewing and printing. Does anybody know how to resolve this problem? Thank you!

Hi, thank you for your comment. I tried this, but the list of plug-ins doesn't have Adobe PDF browser plugin (or PDF browser plugin). The screenshot is attached....
