Problem adding another email account curve 8310

I am trying to add another e-mail account. I go to the wizard, and the message I continue to get is "An error occurred while accessing your account. Please click below to try again. There is a hyperlink that says "Access Another Email Account". When I click on it, nothing happens. HELP!

It's hard to tell, but if you receive the error message just after entering your credentials for the new account, then you have either entered something wrongly or the email service is not fully compatible with BIS. I'd suggest that you use a PC/browser to access your carriers BIS:

and then create this new BIS conduit from there. If it as well receives the same error, then try entering your correct email address but an incorrect password -- this should bring up the manual/advanced configuration screens on which you can enter all of the pertinent information manually (you will need to know all of the information -- email servers, etc....you will have to get that info from your email provider or from another email client you already have configured for this email account).

I am unable to access my mail on my IMac after adding another email account. Somehow I manage to knock myself out of the Telus acct that I had recently migrated to my IMac. Any idea of how I can reconnect to my Telus acct?

I am having trouble accessing my IMac mail after I added another mail account to my list of email accts. I had migrated my outlook acct. from my PC to my IMac and when I went back to use my password it wouldn't let me in. Any ideas of what I should do?

Adding another account would not affect one that you already had. Either the password is wrong, or the server is coincidentally rejecting your credentials for some reason, or you did something different.

I have a couple email accounts on my phone and all is great. I just added another account from a local internet provider for a small business I have. It will recive mail from there but when I try to send i get "The sender address is invalid" I checked and double checked and all seems to set up correctly???
The account is with Plantation Cable in Georgia, if that means anything to anybody.

If the local internet service provider for this email account does not provide an authenticated SMTP server (most ISPs do not provide an authenticated SMTP server), you won't be able to send with the account using the ISP's SMTP server unless you are connected to the internet with your ISP via an available wi-fi network. When connected to the internet via AT&T'a network, you can use AT&T's SMTP server to send messages with the account, which is available on your iPhone to select as the SMTP server for the account. This may or may not work for sending with the account when connected to an available wi-fi network with a different ISP used for internet access.

Adding another email account

i'm trying to add an email account i have through my school, in addition to a yahoo one i'm already using. the email is through hotmail (or windows live). when i try to set it up in 'settings,' it asks me for the incoming mail server's host name (which i assume is home.live.com), the user name (which i don't have), and some kind of password. then it asks for the host name of the outgoing mail server. is this the same as the incoming mail server? and what is this username that i'm supposed to have? the email isn't set up as [email protected], it's [email protected] can i not add an account that's set up that way? and what's the difference between IMAP and POP? sorry if my questions are all over the place. i just hate having to check my email through safari.

Problems with POP email accounts set up on iPad air why can't I send emails?

I have an Ipad Air and am having problems with POP email account set up.
I can receive emails however I cannot reply or create a new email and send it.
Is there something I need to fix in Outgoing settings? these are the same as on my MacPro using same ISP provider Optus the only difference is that the Ipad has a prepaid sim card - however still with Optus.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

How do you add another email account

I have clicked on settings, than clicked on mail, contacts, calendar. But the Accounts section is all grey. I can't add another email account or even delete the existing one. I have changed email accounts, so this is really annoying. Can someone please help me here.

Forwarding email for a user to another email account

Hi,
in Leopard server there was the possibility to forward the email for user to another email account with a domain outside of my server (in Workgroup Manager)
This means: If the server receives email for user A with [email protected] he redirects the email to [email protected]
I can't find this in Lion server.
Does someone know how this can be done?

Account? Or just an extra address?
if you just want an extra address you can add up to three 'email aliases'. These are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.
You should however be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

If you want to add an extra full account you will need to go to http://appleid.apple.com and create a new Apple ID: you will need another email address to do this - you can't use the one already associated with your current ID.
Then you can go to System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and add it there (Lion 10.7.2 minimum required).
