Problem adding photos to a photo template page
I am using iWeb 3.0.4. After selecting a Photo template page I tried to drag an iPhoto event from Media sidebar that has 32 photos in it to the photo place holder on the page. Only 9 of the photos were transferred. Trying to drag any other photos, even a single photo, caused a text box with the name of the photo in it to be placed on the page and the Inspector window to open with the Link tab active.
Does anyone have any ideas on why or what to do?
Your library is damaged and my not be able to be totally recovered, i.e. recover albums, slideshows, etc. along with the photos.
If the original files for your photos are inside the library package (even if iPhoto can't display them) the following should create a new library with all of your photos.
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
2. Open the library package like this.

3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4. Drag the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects. Check it out carefully to see if all of your photos are represented in it.
Your current library will still be available for further fix attempts.

Problem adding recordset to a Template page
I've been having problems adding sql recordset to a Template page, when i set the record the editable region of the template is no longer editable and it begins to be editable everything else, one more thing that happens with the record is that is partially inserted into the body of the php page, i have tried to reinstall wampserver, dreamweaver, delete the folder with the user settings and the registry of dreamweaver but nothing seems to work, the only thing that i haven't tried is delete the folder with the main settings, but i don't think that it is the problem

Can 'SUBSCRIBE' be removed from photo template pages in iWeb??
I am using photo template pages on my website (designed in iWeb 08). My site is an artist portfolio site so the photo template pages work well for dealing with all the art images I am posting.
One problem: there is a subscribe button on my pages which lets people subscribe to my iPhoto library. I cannot figure out how to remove it.
Any ideas on this?

Click on the Inspector at the bottom of your photo page, then click on the Photos Inspector (just to the left of RSS).
Next click on the Photos button, then uncheck "Allow visitors to subscribe".
The Subscribe button will disappear from your page.

When I selected a photo template page, I got 4 slots for pictures. Does that mean I can only, actually, have 4 photos? I can't seem to grab it to duplicate it nor find a place to simply increase the pictures to 6 or 10 or whatever.
Should I just skip that template and use a blank page and perhaps drop in a photo album from iPhoto? I mean, it seems silly to think that Apple has only a page for 4 photos.Actually you can drop in up to 99 photos into the photo template area. Or you can drop in a few at a time. The template will automatically expand as you drop more photos in. Just drag your photos over the thumbnail area and you will see the template box highlight in blue and your cursor will turn into a green "+" sign. Then let go of your photos and they will be added to the thumbnails!
And yes, you can also use iPhoto and select up to 99 photos and then click on the iWeb button and select "photo page". That will work, too! -
Can't modify "My Photos" template page

There has to be a simple solution to this: the white "My Photos" template page has 3 pictures across in a row. I can't edit them at all, i.e. can't replace the template's images with my own. If you click on one of the 3 default images, all 3 are selected (indicated by a blue frame) but that's it. Can't change a thing. How do I get rid of them so i can place my own?You get rid of them by dragging other photos onto
them. They are merely place holders to show you
where the photos go. If you have used iPhoto to
arrange the photos you want to use into an album, you
can just drag the album to them. You should see a
blue line that encompasses all the photos show up.
When you do, let go of the album or the photos.
If you use iPhoto, an easy way to do this is to use
the Media Browser (there's a button for it at the
bottom of the iWeb window) to locate the pictures you
want to use.
I did that and if the picture you want to replace the placeholder picture with is smaller, you can still see the dummy photo under it. How do you eliminate that? Also, when I drag a bunch of photos to the page, when I publish the page and click on the start slideshow button, the only images that play are the dummy images. What's with that?

Rotating Photo on Photo iWeb Template Page
I have selected a photo that I'd like to ROTATE on an iWeb Photo Template page.
Go to the "ruler" in the Inspector.
The Rotate wheel is not operational, nor is the ability to Add a New Value, nor is the "handle" on the photo as the Help menu also suggests will happen.
Suggestions?Unfortunately, there isn't a way to rotate photos on the Photo Template page. Strange, isn't it? Hopefully this is something else that will be changed in iWeb 2.0. Haha.
Anyhow, you have to have your photos oriented the right direction before bringing them into iWeb. And sometimes when the photo has been rotated inside iPhoto, the orientation property will not "stick" and the photo will be turned the wrong way when brought into iWeb. Try this....drag the photo that you are using from iPhoto to the desktop. Then open it with Preview and then "Save" it or do a "Save As." Then drag it into iWeb.
I don't think you'll have to do this with every photo you want turned...just the pesky ones that don't keep their orientation. It's a bug of sorts with iPhoto and the Media Browser....and it would all be fixed if Apple would just let us rotate the photos in iWeb!

Photos not resizing into template with mask
When I drag certain photos into the iWeb template, they are not resizing. When I try to change the size of the photo within the mask, the whole mask changes accordingly. I do not want the masked area to change, just the size of the photo so that it fits.
HELP!!It's difficult (for me at least) to imagine what you are seeing. If you want, you could post some screenshots. I haven't tried this free GrabUp app, and it's not the only way to post screenshots, but it claims to be fast and easy to use:

I have added photos to My Photo Stream on my PC (Windows 7). They appear in the Uploads folder instead. They do not upload to iCloud. Am I doing something wrong?
Unfortunately, photo stream on a PC is iffy at best. Many people have problems getting it to work properly, including myself. A work around would be to use an app like PhotoSync on your PC, which can send photos wirelessly to the camera roll on any of your iOS devices on the same wifi network. Once in the camera roll, you iOS device will be added to your photo stream.

Adding Text over a Photo in a Movie
First, is this possible? Can I actually add credits over a photo added from IPhoto to a movie in IMovie 5?
I am having a problem adding a title (credits) over a photo I have added to the end of a movie. I unclick "over black" and type in the text to scroll over the photo, and when I try to drag the "T" onto the photo, a black clip appears, and the text goes over that. I look up, and the "over black" box is checked again. I did lengthen the time of the photo, but that hasn't made a difference.
The text has appeared over the wrong clip at times, too.
I'm sure I'm missing something somewhere. Help!Another thing to consider if your photo is a still frame, not using KB effect:
If you are ok with the title appearing just a few seconds after the start of the photo, use the "Split video at playhead" to split the photo just where you want the title to begin, and place it there. Just be sure that the length of the photo clip and the title are the same. You can lengthen the photo clip after the split if you need to.
This is great to do if you have used a transition before the photo, because you don't have to delete the transition. I have split a photo that had transitions on either side, lengthened the middle photo clip and added a title to that. Worked great! -
I have never had any problems before but all portrait photos added today have the top chopped off. For example , people's heads are missing or roofs or buildings are chopped off. Photos are fine on the camera and on my mac in iphoto and aperture. Switched off photostream on my ipad...all photos were deleted. Switched photostream back on and all photos uploaded again and portrait photos are cropped again
It sounds like while trying to import the photos with insufficient disk space those image files were damaged and not copied fully. Now that you have sufficient space (a minimum of 10 GB is recommended) the latest imports are good.
What do you get if you export one of the problem photos out of iPhoto as Kind=Original and try to open it with Preview. If it appears the same then there's nothing you can to do recover them.

want to replace a section of that page with a web photo album
created in Dreamweaver/Fireworks. How do I embed that file into my
2nd template page. It says to copy html into the page (did that)
and the photos and files are not refreshing on the server to show
them and the template codes properly as they are on my index page).

I recently upgraded to iphoto '11 so that I could make use of the photo book feature. I can create a photo book with no problems, but once it's created, I can't click on any photos within the photo book to change them around, I can't resize the photos or zoom in and out. I can't even add text to the pages. It's as though when I'm clicking the page it doesn't recognise that I'm clicking it. Does anybody know what has happened and how to resolve the issue?

HelenTry this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos, create a book and check to see if the same problem persists. If it doesn't then your current library is the culprit.
In that case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Photos printing in negative in Pages, etc.
Not sure if this is something others have addressed and I apologize it is somewhere in the archives but no time to read old posts...
I recently imported photos from my PC (saved via HP editing software that came with HP printer). They all showed up nicely in iPhoto with no problems. Now when I drag them to use in iWork (i.e. Pages), they look like they should in preview, but when I print them, they all print like the color negatives. I tried dragging photos that were NOT imported from the PC (rather directly from my camera hooked up to the iMac) and those photos printed just fine in Pages, etc. Any idea what is going on? Is there some sort of compatibility issue with the photos being originally from my PC and saved using the HP printer software? All of the photos are .jpg's still. HELP!
I found somewhere that I should try printing using the PDF version and that didn't work either. The only way I could get the photos to print right was using them in Word:mac and quite frankly, it's not as user friendly as Pages! But if that is my only option, I can live with it!
I have an HP Photosmart 7850 and have searched in vain for any info on it specifically.

ThanksI'm also getting the negative photo printing on my HP Deskjet 6980. Everything prints fine using Pages 1.0 and OS X 10.4 Tiger. Then I bought a new iMac with Pages 3.0 and OS X 10.5 Leopard. Now if I print the same Pages document, it prints all the photos negative. Same problem when printing a PDF of this document when using Preview.
Thanks for the Adobe Reader tip. It prints fine using this workaround.

What upload speed do I need to upload the XL photo books with over 25 pages?
I have just recently gotten a new Internet provider and the max upload speed I can get is 1mbps but I am only getting .4 mbps at the most. When trying to upload an XL photo book with over 26 pages it keeps failing to transfer/upload and the error message says to check the internet connection. I'm wondering what upload speed I need to upload? I need to cancel this internet provider before my free month runs out if 1mbps is not going to be fast enough.
Well I have my first order coming in tomorrow (according to Fedex) and I have my fingers crossed.
So far I haven't been able to find any local printers that will print and bind the books at a reasonable cost - best I've found so far is $200 (or more) per book.
Hardly cost effective for my relatively meager budget.
I've explored Asuka a littoe more, and their quality does appear to be superior at first glance, but it seems I am not able to take advantage of submitting my aperture-generated book directly. According to their templates I have to put everything together manually in Photohop. Great for end-control, but one thing that made me pursue this was the ability to generate a book inside Aperture using versions direct from collection (any changes I made to an original image were automatically incorporated in my book. Had I done it all manually, teh time/effort I'd be putting into the book with be well over 5x greater!
I've also looked at shutterfly.com so far - and they seem promising, and am wiating for my colleagues order to go through before I get too excited.
Either way, I hope to have my first printing this week - I'll keep ya posted! -
Adding music / audio to Photo Slide Show
I have several photo pages in the iWeb Photo Template pages and am giving the option to watch as a slide show.
If the viewer opts for the slide show, can music and/or voice over be automatically and simulaneously played?
