Problem after importing - now EVERYTHING slow!

I recently made my first iMovie and burned to DVD with no problems. It was great! I am now trying to import video for a new project but it is not so smooth.
It seems to import OK, but when the letterboxing gets almost through it seems to stall. I end up having to quit and trash the project to start again but then my computer runs extremely slow for a very long time then seems to eventually come back to normal.
Here are some issues:
-I still have the old project on my hard drive, so I know it is taking a lot of space. But it was not slowing anything before starting a new project.
-the clip on which the letterboxing seems to stall is a long one. Could this be a problem?
-I've tried a few times to bring this movie in, each time trying smaller chunks so that it does not take too much space but it does not change anything.
-Why, even after trashing the new project, is my computer so slow? It takes several minutes perform any task and sometimes just goes to a blue screen.
I am using iMovie HD 5 and I have the version of the iMAC prior to the built-in iSight and INTEL processors.

What is a pre-defined help file? Do you simply mean someone
else created the project? You also say you you imported the files
but it's not clear why. Maybe that does not matter, I mention it in
case the next bit is not the problem as then I will need to know
more.
It should be as simple as double clicking the drop-down
hotspot. Does nothing happen if you do that? The text should be
above the ordinary text when you look at the HTML.

Avitek Sample Application - problems after imported to Eclipse

I downloaded "Avitek™ Medical Records Sample Application" and started a domain successfuly with this aplication. Then I imported its to my Eclipse Juno with the interest to debug this sample application. I included every lib are need. Now I am getting the error "Default target install does not exist in this project" in every build.xml on the target "<project name=".
Other error I got is "The type javax.jms.Message cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files" in the PatientNotifierBroker project. I looked for javax.jms_1.1.2.jar and I had already added this library.
Have someone face both problems after imported this sample?

11g by default is case sensitive username/password.
You can disable that with setting parameter SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON to false.
SQL> SHOW PARAMETER SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON

"Messages" problem after importing .xsd file as external definition

I received an .xsd file from a customer and need to import it as an "External Definition" in order to create the "Message Interface". The structure of the xsd looks like this:

After importing and looking at the tab "Messages" I get numerous entries, for each <xsd:element> I get one message! But I basically only need one "Message" that holds my complete xsd-file.
I tried inserting <xsd:element name="COMPLETEORDER"> right after the <xsd:schema>-Tag but that didn't work either. Somehow I need to sum up all the <xsd:elements>.
Does anyone have an idea? Thank you very much!

on top, the <xsd:sequence> would be on the same level as the simpleTypes - which is not valid!
But can I just move all the simpleTypes, e.g. into an <xsd:element>??
That would be changing the customer's structure which I think is not a good thing!?

Problem after importing

Hi,
I have a pre defined html help file for my project done by
someone else.
Now i have to edit the help file, so i have created a new
project and tried to import the html files from the old help file
which i had. Import was successfull. but i was not able to edit the
contents placed in "Drop Down Text editor" field it has been
encrypted. but the all the datas are present while viewing the
file.
Pls tell me how can i edit the "Drop Down Text editor" text
after importing the file.

Universe access problem after importing from R2 to R3.1

Hi all!
We have a problem with universes in 3.1: even with administrator user it keeps showing FRM 00008 error message (You are not authorised to use this document. The universe could not be found in the Central Management Server...) after importing successfully any universe or trying to open any universe locally.
All of the universes were imported using the Import Wizard. The CMS server have been restarted and is running, the CMS ports are visible, universe, connection and application access rights are full control (for the administrator user).
Any idea would be welcome on what else should be checked or set.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't help. I double-checked object right for administrator, and where it wasn't set as full control, I changed it to full control (universe, applications - DeskI and Designer, and the relevant connection).
And the administrator user is member of only two groups: Administrators and Everyone. (Everyone has no access on these objects, because every user in our BO enterprise is a member of a special group, so there's no need to grant rights to Everyone).
Any other idea?

Problem after importing iPhoto library - Syncing iPhone/iPad: wrong dates

I have a problem, which I cannot seem to find a solution to:
I have imported my iPhoto library into Aperture without any hassle. The problem now is:
When I sync my iPhone/iPad within iTunes, and I click "sync with Aperture"(instead of iPhoto) under "Photos", then "select only the projects of the last 3 months", I always wind up with ALL my Photos (20.000 +) that I have imported with Aperture. Not just the last 30+.
The individual photo's meta information in Aperture is however correct: i.e. a project containing pictures from 2006 still shows the pictures being from 2006. So they shouldn't show up under the photo sync within iTunes when I click "last 3 months", right?
What am I doing wrong? Does Aperture set the date to all the imported projects to the same current date they were imported on? Is there any way to correct this, or sync only the photos of the last 3 months?
Otherwise I will have to go back to iPhoto...

again the same problem, i emptied my trash and again resync after uncheck the photo sync option all the pics were gone, there wasnt any cache in pictures folder, i selected the photo to be sync arround 4573 and again its updating only 405 and i dont see any cache in pictures folder, i dont know may be in lion its saving cache somewhere else, im unable to find it and unable to do it right way. i searched in spotlight for ipod photo cache nothing showed up.

After installing Mav. everything slowed and curser freezes about 15 secs.when switching from off to online.

iMac slowed down after installng Maverick. The pointer freezes for about 15 seconds every time I move from an online document to a computer app/document. 240 GB still available on HD.

The problem is that during WEI testing there are a number of files read and written to the primary disk. My guess is that on your first try the SSD was relatively clean, so all writes were consecutive and the score came out at 7.4. Now, after having used the SSD for some time, your score deteriorated to 6.5, because of the flaw in SSD design, that causes a severe performance hit on writes after deletes. It is somewhat similar to disk fragmentation on conventional disks, although much more severe. That is where trimming comes in handy, because it alleviates this write speed degradation.
Don't hold me against these figures, but it is not uncommon to see read speeds of say 220+ MB/s and write speeds of 140+ MB/s advertised. These figures usually apply to new disks and without trimming after some time these figures may change to something like 200+ R and 50+ W. It is this slow down in Write speeds that kills the benefit of SSD's. Trimming has gone a long way to solve that issue by around 90% but not all SSD's have the trimming function and when using raids, the number of controllers that support trimming is still very small.
The WEI is not a real good measure of performance. For instance the Velociraptor is always 5.9, despite being a very fast and capable conventional disk. If you were to use WEI to measure the performance of another disk or array, things would look completely different, like below:
This is a run with an overclocked i7-920 at 3.6 GHz with only 12 GB 1333 memory, running @ 1500 MHz, and a large raid30 array.
BTW, loading PS in 3 seconds in pretty normal for conventional disks as well. It is about 2 seconds on my Velociraptor.

Problem after importing partitions

We use to import partitions regularly from our production db to test db for testing purposes. but, when I did the same this time, m getting slowness in the queries which are accessing the newly created partitions. I found the below from the trace file of the session

Hi,
If you have index on object_id, then i am assuming it is doing Index Range Scan.
With Index Range Scan, I see no problem with the wait event you have provided. It could be just that you have slow IO, but this should impact the entire database and not only to this partition.
If there is no index on object_id, or it is not doing Index Range Scan, then I suppose there is a reason for this query going slow.

Problem after importing bookmarks from chrome

My Mac is in German because I live in Berlin. This means that here I have to translate the messages from Safari into English, but it's fairly straightforward. My German is at native speaker level.
Problem is...
When I tried to import the bookmarks and history from Chrome, the progam hung up and I had to "immediately end" it. Then I tried again, this time only importing the bookmarks. It worked, but the result is that, although I have my bookmarks, Safari is not allowing me to delete or modify anything. Each time I try it gives me the message that I "have to accept or delete" the data that I've received from Chrome in order to proceed. But, whether I click on "accept" or "delete", nothing happens. In other words, the data is neither "accepted" nor "deleted", and I can't do any deleting or modifying of bookmarks without bringing up this same message, over and over.
So I can neither go back to the previous state by "clearing" Safari, reversing the process, nor can I go forward. All the bookmarks are as it were "frozen" in the positions that they had when I first imported them, and there is seemingly nothing I can do about it.
I would love to be able to delete Safari and download it again, but this doesn't seem to be possible. I also don't even know if this would alter the settings.

Problems after import a project

Hi experts,
I copied a project file from workspace ,then import to another PC with NWDS.
I can build the project, and no errors. But there is a error "Could not get name for DC project" when I deploy the project.
And the deploy is failed .
Please give some advice to cover the problem.

1) Unzip the DC And go the dcdef file in component name\_comp\.dcdef
In the .dcdef file You can see the component name and component type in the corresponding tab

In NWDS Go towindows> perference >Java Development Infrastructure>Development Configuration pool , there you can see the root folder path
2) Open the comp folder of the newly created dc in the rootfolder \.dtc\LocalDevelopment\DCs\sap.com\componentname\comp and replace it by _comp folder of the extracted file
3) Rebulid the DC and Deploy

Problem after importing mail to Mail 2.1.3

Imported mail from another G4 and all email within the Sent Items folder is displaying as from and date received instead of to and date sent. Anybody any ideas on how I can fix this? It's driving me potty!

Try Control-clicking on the information bar and selecting To and Date Sent, and deselecting From and Date Received.

Autentication problem after importing users in osx.5 server

Hi All, I was able to import users to OSX.5.8 server using passenger from macinmind.com but my users could not authenticate. When I create one user at a time the users are able to authenticate. Help i am pulling my hair out.

Rather than importing in Server.app you could try using Workgroup Manager.

Is anyone else experiencing problems after ios8 update? Slow video playback, juddery images, slow loads within apps etc. my iPad is 3 years old but was highest spec available when purchased.

Problem with getting order correct after importing a cd.

Has anyone had any problems after importing a cd in to their itunes with the order of the songs not appearing correctly. Even after I double checked to make sure everything was matched up perfectly with the spelling, the tracks appear in the wrong order still. Cany anyone help me out???

Try clicking on one of the column headings to sort the playlist. I'm not in front of my Mac right now, don't recall which column provided the correct sort information.

Where are all the photos after import?

I don't know where to begin. iPhoto has gotten worse and worse over the years, but unfortunately I have tens of thousands of photos in it going back decades.
The tipping point for me was after photo streams and extra syncing was added to iOS 5. After importing to iPhoto I simply don't know where all my photos are anymore.
The import process itself is all funny. Sometimes it seems to just import the photo stream - which doesn't include videos.
Sometimes it will import everything if I press Import again, but the numbers don't match the numbers of photos on my iPhone.
If I check latest import it doesn't match what was just imported.
If I select to delete photos on my iPhone after import it deletes some but not all of them.
I don't have any confidence anymore that the photos imported. And organizing them - forget about it. It's the worse mess I've ever seen. I can't find anything anymore.
It definitely doesn't "just work."
I would like to clear out the photos on my iPhone 4 because the camera has gotten slow and I read somewhere that having too many photos in the camera roll can slow down the camera operation itself. Is that true? That would be sort of dumb if true because the only way of making albums directly on your iPhone is to leave the original photos in the camera roll.
Is there anything better than iPhone I can use to organize all my photos?

Well, I do like that Photostream syncs between my iPhone and iPad. What I don't understand is why the import into iPhone seems to sometimes have just Photostream events and then separately events sorted by date, but without the items that were imported into Photostream events.
Rather than turn off Photostream altogether, what would be nice is if I could just turn it off in iWeb. Is that possible?
I'm sorry my "finding and organizing" complaint sounds vague. It's hard to explain clearly because everything is so convoluted in iPhoto now.
Basically, it used to be that
(1) I could import and everything would be broken up into events by date;
(2) I could delete from my iPhone after import and everything would be deleted.
But (1) is not happening reliably. And neither is (2).
I just want to be able to organize my photos and find them. Even finding them in the current version of iPhoto got harder than it was in the previous version of iPhoto. It's just become a really confusing mess of a piece of software to use.
Right now the immediate problem, to attempt to be clearer, is that my imported photos and movies are not broken down by date-delimited events. The problem seems to be related to Photostream imports which confuse the normal event grouping process.
