Problem after resizing photo image in premiere timeline

Hello,
I am editing a wedding video and just wanted to add a few photo's to fill in some gaps in my timeline. I converted my jpeg to a psd file and was able to import it into my premiere timeline, I was also able to resize to fit the time line. My problem is after I resized it I have a like black background on either side of the still photo I wanted to add. I don't know how to get rid of it so that just my photo is shown in the timeline. can anyone help.
Thank You A beginner at adobe premiere

    Do the filenames contain special characters, like "ä,ü,..." or white space or are the vry long? Is there anything special about the image format? Try to export the edited versions in that case and reimport it with a different, shorter filename.
    For testing, create a new book with only the images you want to check.
    If this does not fix it, try rebuilding. Depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild the library.

  • I want resize the image and set position after retrieving from oracle datab

    How can I display image on web page after retrieving it from oracle database. Display is not problem but resize that image and position is very dificult .Please send me Guideline about blob object todisplay and resize it in web pages

    I tried to do the suggetion made by you but I was not able to solve the issue. I think I am close to it and with your help I should be able to resolve it. Let me explain you the brief about this issue.
    1. Another group uses Oracle Apex to load the images in to the database.
    2. I am fetching this data fron Oracle and displays in to Webpage using PHP.
    This is so far I tried. Please bear with me if I am doing anything wrong.
    1.I created program.php which calls the <IMG> as suggested by you.Snippet of the code is
    <div><img src="/oracle/image_story.php" alt="Image Stories" width="900" height="500" /></div>
    2. In the image_story.php, I used the following code.
    <?php
    $query = "SELECT *
              FROM IMAGE_STORY WHERE image_id = 50";
    if ($result = run_oracle($query, 'select')) { // Run the query.
         $num_results = count($result);
         if ($num_results > 0) {
         foreach($result as $row){
              $img = $row['DOCUMT']->load();
              header("Content-type: image/pjpeg");
              echo $img;
              //echo '<div><img src="'.$img.'" alt="Image Stories" width="900" height="500" /></div>';
    ?>
    When I run the program.php,Image is not displayed and it is showing as "X". To troubleshoot the issue,I run the image_story.php and echo $img is giving me the weird character like,
    "ÿØÿàJFIFddÿìDuckyPÿîAdobedÀÿÛ„
    I used PL/SQL developer as a client to access the BLOB field from the database and in the HTML view, it is giving me the same output.
    Select * from image_story a where a.image_id = 50
    I am not sure the issue is with the MIME-TYPE,ENCODING or I am missing something here. I tried lot of Content-Type.
    Please guide me.

  • Resizing an image in a layer using values from another layer

    After resizing an image on a layer, is it possible to easily copy the resized width & height (pixel) values to images on other layers?  If so, then how?  I'm guessing there's an easy way, but it eludes me.  Copying the values manually is okay with just a couple of layers, but rather tedious for changing many layers.

    You could record an action to resize the layers. You could use the action only
    on one layer at a time.
    1. Pick the layer you want to have the other layers resized to and find the pixel dimensions
       of the layer i.e w 422 x h 830.
    2. Pick the layer you want to resize and make it active.
    3. Start recording the action following the steps below:
       (the menu commands are in red)
    4. When you get to the image size dialog, set as below with your own
        pixel dimensions. Don't change anything in the document size from
        how it's set when the dialog opens.
    5. After you record the action set the image size dialog so it opens
       whenever you run the action so you can change the pixel dimensions.
      Click in the box to the right of the checkmark (highlighted above in red)

  • Media Encoder is rendering an older version of my Premiere timeline.

    This has happened to me on a few occasions, where I have a dynamically linked After Effects comp in my Premiere timeline, the changes I make appear as they should in the Premiere timeline, but when I queue it to Media Encoder or render directly through Premiere, it renders the older version of the AE comp, as if it thinks nothing has changed. This happens even after cleaning the cache, saving a new copy and restarting premiere.
    The only way I've managed to fix it, is by saving a new copy of the Premiere project file over the temp file submitted to Encoder.
    This is how it looks on my timeline (Correct):
    How it looks when I queue through Encoder (Incorrect):
    Any help on how to avoid this in the future would be much appreciated!
    Cheers,
    S

    I thought you had something working after you installed FFDshow tryout.
    It would be helpful if you could upload one of your files that you can't convert to a file sharing website. Then others can download the file and work with it on their machine to see if they can convert it.
    I use MediaFire's (http://www.mediafire.com) free plan to upload and share files. For example, http://www.mediafire.com/?uhpmob5nc1w6q is a link to one of my files: "Kodak Zi8 720 30p." It's not a direct link.

  • Resizing of images after FCP update not working. When I try to resize, It resizes a blank transparent image.

    I am having trouble resizing images after I installed the FCP update. When I press the transform button, and then click on teh image, I go to the little blue dots on the side of the image that usually resize the image, and when I drag them out, instead of the image resizing, a black trasparent rectangle the same size as the photo expands outward to my desired size. This has happened to me before the update when trying to resize text, but the problem usually fixed itself once I clicked again on the text line in the editing section.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Russ,
    It doesn't work that way either, however it's okay because I solved the problem. Turns out I had to select 'add keyframe' on either the 'crop' or 'distort' tabs and it fixes itself. No idea why but the problem is solved! Thanks for your help anyhow.

  • Why must a dynamically linked Premiere timeline be open in order to see it in After Effects CC 2014?

    I am having a problem I don't think existed before.
    I have an After Effects project with two different Premiere timelines in it. I red the dreaded red screen of "media offline" unless I open the timeline in Premiere. Which is odd, because I don't remember this being the case. As I recall in the past, if you import a Premiere pro timeline (not a project, but rather import as footage) then you didn't use to have to have that same timeline open in Premiere in order to see it in After Effects.
    Aside from this annoyance, my problem is that I'm using two different timelines from two different Premiere project files. So I can't have Premiere open twice. I shouldn't have to render out the timelines and import them as actual footage into After Effects in order to make this work. Or I shouldn't have to import one Premiere timeline into the other and relink one of them in AE.
    Is this occurring for anyone else? Any work arounds or (preferably) fixes?

    We can't know anything. You have not provided any system information or details about your project. By power of deduction it stands to reason that firing up Premiere initializes a specific CoDec or hardware driver required to handle your footage, but otherwise there is nothing anyone can say about the matter.

  • Resized & resampled image problems in Elements 5.0 on xp

    I'm having trouble with resize & resample images (trying to make them much smaller) so I can place multiple images onto a PDFpage at predetermined individual specific physical sizes thereby avoiding resizing the images within the PDF document, of which I understand is a NoNo for getting it commercially printed.  When I resize & resample an image and set the physical dimensions of the image it prints as a test print to the size I have set/want. The problem arises after I have saved the image & then try to insert it into my document. The saved image file when inserted is still or very close to the same physical size as before I resized & resampled it. - So what am I not doing or doing wrong. I have checked the file size in Windows Explorer and the actual file size is only a fraction of what the original is. The image has been reduced from 3200KB to 109KB, confirming I have at least reduced something within the file, just not what I wanted to. When I reopen the file in Elements and print it it is still the size I want, so why isn't it the right size when I insert it into a document. I have read the help files and don't understand what I am doing wrong, Please help.

    Hi,
    I suspect that the resolution of the file is getting changed instead of dimensions. So, the file size is decreasing but the dimensions are remaining the same.
    Please confirm that you are resizing the image as follows:
    1. Open the image
    2. Go to Image -> Resize -> Image Size
    3. Select the option Resample Image
    4. Now provide the new dimensions in Width & Height
    5. Click OK and save the image
    Now try importing on the PDF page.
    Thanks,

  • Problem with dragged component after resizing the frame

    My application is simple: I am displaying an image on a panel inside a frame (JFrame). I am able to drag the image inside the panel. My problem is that, after dragging the image around, if I am resizing the frame, the image goes back to its original position.
    Does anyone know a workaround?
    I have been using the sample provided by noah in his answer (reply no. 3) to a previous question on this forum: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=57&thread=126148
    Thank you!

    Chek out the visibility of your components. Some operations may render them invisible. Use the setVisible( boolean ) to make them visible.

  • Problems importing cs4 premiere timeline into encore and encoder

    Hi. I am still a "beginner to premiere" but have never had a problem importing premiere timelines into encoder and encore and then either creating a youtube file or dvd etc. But only recently it seems there is a problem importing the timeline ... it starts the process but then cannot continue ... it comes up with some error bug after about 5 minutes. Never happended before. I downloaded the latest version 4.2.1 but no difference. Should I uninstall/re-install??

    >comes up with some error
    That is just too vague for anyone to help

    Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
    The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
    However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
    I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
    However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
    So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is.

  • Image size problem after converting from Managed files to Referenced files.

    I recently moved to Referenced files for all my images. I use a plug-in (Graphic Converter 8.8.2) to resize all images to a consistent size (1440 pixels wide, landsacpe format) for a web app that I use (Sandvox). With Referenced files, when I drag and drop the externally processed image, it shows up at exactly one-half the correct size (720 pixels). As a test, doing exactly the same opeartion with an Aperture library utilizing managed files, there is no problem...it works as expected.
    As a temproray work-around, I found that instead of dragging and dropping, I use the Aperture Export function, everything is correct. This is not really what I want to do because I have a lot of images to process.
    This is Aperture 3.5 and Mavericks,  but the problem was there with with Aperture 3.4 and OS 10.7.5.

    Thank you for the suggestion and running the test. I changed the Preview settings to 1440, and then 2560 and finally, Don't Limit. Quit and relaunch Aperture between each setting. No luck.
    But you gave me a hint: maybe the problem has to do with the images being first Managed and then moved to Referenced files. So I tried one that has never been a Managed file and everything works correctly! Don't know if this is a bug or a feature.
    Mystery solved, but I still have a lot of images to reprocess.
    Thank you for the help.
