Problem Attaching photos to e-mail

Every time I  attach an iPhoto to an e-mail response is name and password are not recognized by server.  I have no other e-mail or server issues but I cannot get this one resolved

The best way is to select the photo (s) you want to send and click the e-mail button at the pbottom of the screen
The photos are now kept in a Package for safety -- for a more complete discussion on the library package see TD's write up here - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1126400&tstar

  • Attach photo to e mails problem fix

After OS4 upgrade you are unable to attach photo to e-mail and quality of photos are poor . Fix reload all photos and quality is fixed and you can attach photo to e mail again same as before

yes, go into photos, select the photo, tap the screen, there should be a button with a box and arrow. tap that, you get an option to email the photo.
not sure you can do it from within the email app though.

  • Problem attaching photos to emails

When I attach photos to my emails on gmail I am unable to edit the body of the email. Everything else works OK but I can only send messages with the default messages which appear when I open the message. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this? I am on Photoshop elements 11.

    Hi,
This is a problem with the Adobe e-mail client.
    The workaround is as follows.
Open Notepad and compose your message there
Select the whole message and copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl & C)
Switch to the new email message
Highlight the text to be replaced and do paste (Ctrl & V)
    Good luck

can any one tell me why i cant attach photos to emails using my i book computer?

    Hi Crystal...welcome to the discussions.

  • Attaching photos to Apple Mail - error when attaching multiple files

    Hello,
My iPhoto just recently started giving me an error whenever I try to attach multiple files to Apple Mail. The error says:
"Mail got an error: Can't get paragraph 8 of
content of outgoing message id 321072192.
    Invalid index."
The only option allowed is to cancel. When I look at my Apple Mail it has created a message with the first selected photo attached, but none of the other photos are there. Any ideas of how to correct this? Is this an email client issue?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
This is a problem between iPhoto 4 and 10.5.
The workaround is to use the Photo Browser on the new Message Window in Mail, just drag the pic over from there:

  • Problems attaching files to e-mails

After installing Lyon, from my wife's user she can't attach files to an e-mail. The window opens but only shows folders and the folders can not be opened. I can do it from my user. What could be happening?

This could be a hardware problem, or it could be software problem.
First... Get a full backup of your disks by booting from the DVD and using Disk Utility to copy the data to an external storage device, on the off change the disk or memory or server is failing; don't lose ground here, and try to avoid losing data.  Always, always, always have a good backup before you start hardware or software repairs.
As Christoph recommends, do check the logs.  Rather than looking at the directories directly, I'd suggest doing this using the Console.app tool (as that's easier than rummaging in /var/log, if you're not already comfortable in the command shell) and see if there are any relevant errors being reported.
It appears this box is critical, and doesn't have a backup, or spare parts, or local available support.  I'd expect there are folks in the Denver area that can visit the site and sort out the hardware or software trigger, if your coworkers aren't in a position to assist here.
If the box is under AppleCare, I'd plan for a trip to get the box looked at and potentially repaired.
If the box is not under AppleCare, I'd look for a spare disk.  Or better (but more expensive), acquire (or bring along?) a spare Mac Mini (Server?) and probably either used or off eBay or such, as you'll want to have a spare for any potential hardware failure.  (It's better to have two of the same, and newer Mac Mini (Server?) boxes will arrive with (and require) Lion (Server?) and not 10.6.8.
Usual path for a recovery here is an external backup (via booting the DVD and using Disk Utility to get that copy, and preferably a couple of external, full, current, copies of the data) and using the "migrate" option after a wipe and reinstallation, to bring a copy of the disk data back in.

  • Problems attaching photos using hotmail, also cannot update plug-ins

i used to be able to attach many photos to my hotmail emails.
i always reduce the size of the pics so i can attach 20 or more... now it will only attach 1, maximum 2 images.
i was told that i may need to update my plug-ins but when i go to firefox's Plug-In Check page it will not load, saying that it cannot find the server.. however my internet connection totally fine..
what do i do to fix these 2 problems??

Plugins are used from the Operating System, but Firefox often attempts to show them and to check them.
#First of all use the firefox menu to ensure your plugins are all enabled.
    # then use [/plugincheck]<br/> that will sometimes show an old Java as disabled for safety reasons, but then includes an update link <br/> note the page scrolls and provides general information and further instructions
Presumably you already have a firewall and other security software, you may need to check whether they block downloads or updates.

  • Since updating firefox, can't attach photo to e-mail

I use firefox 6 as my browser. Since the upgrade, I haven't been able attach any photo's to any out-going email. No problem in the past. I have centurylink.net as my server. After typing the email message, I click on"add attachment". select photo and click on attach. At the top of the page,"connecting" appears but fails to connect. There is no error messages or timing out messages. Something is not allowing the photo to be connected to email. I have tried to use Internet Explorer and it allowed the photo to be connection in a timely manner. I HAVE BEEN USING FIREFOX ALL OF MY COMPUTER DAYS. I DON'T INTEND TO USE I.E. AS A BROWSER.
    Thanks for any help.

Not helpful. 'clearing Firefox's cache' is not helpful, since 'cache' doesn't show up in any of the Firefox pulldown menu choices (wasted time looking for that), and the plethora of things 'recent' and 'history' to choose to act on in these menus is also a possible waste of time, not to mention removing useful info for no reason.
I, too, have had this problem 'intermittently' for many months, always involving the 'first' file to attach in a Yahoo! email, and I've always used this workaround OK: click on the filename showing as 'being attached' (while Yahoo's doohickey round spinner denoting 'in progress' whirls and whirls to no effect) and use "Remove File"; THEN, REPEAT 'attach file' task & it then works, if slowly. After that for the same email, attaching add'l files NEVER HAS A PROBLEM.
SO, now today, without any software update yet (I've downloaded Firefox v.11 & will install shortly), at numerous attempts during the day, I CANNOT get the FIRST file to attach in a Yahoo! email. Simply, utterly, frustrating without any rhyme or reason. "Everything else, on plethora of sites, working fine."
    thanks.

  • I can no longer attach photos in yahoo mail

    Hello,
How do you attach a photo in an email?  My email account is with Yahoo and my browser is Safari.  I used to click on the Attach button in an email, then type the name of the photo (like IMG_8648) in the "Search" field.  Now when I do this, nothing comes up as a match.  In fact, it doesn't find anything starting with IMG_8, despite gobs of my photos beginning as such in iPhoto.
I also cannot find the location of said file when I search for it in Finder.  I can only find it through iPhoto and through Spotlight.
    Help?
    Cherie

I keep some pictures in the picture files and they show up.  The photos that I used to keep in iPhoto (which disappeared on upgrade) are not accessible in word.  If you click on photo the file location (in Word) looks for iPhoto and comes up blank.  If you try to enter the file location for "Photos" which is pictures/photolibrary this is greyed out and not accessible.  The only way I have been able to do it is export the photos to a folder and choose the file.  This is a pain.

  • Problems attaching photos

I have a two fold problem:
One, when I send a photo with iPhoto 09, it makes the image size reduced when the recipient receives it even though i have the box at the bottom say Original Image Size
Two, it doesn't allow recipients using Outlook to download the photo as attachments, simply embeds the photo as an html email.

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
For the second problem, after the email is available in the Compose window, click on Format in the menubar, and choose Make Plain Text. I have found that both iPhoto and Aperture prepare the message so that it become Rich Text, and that causes this issue with Outlook (also Outlook Express).
For the first issue, please confirm both the size selection made in iPhoto with regard to size, and then the Image Size button setting at the bottom of the Compose window. Also, I would Deselect to include file names and descriptions to be printed beneath the photos in the message.

  • Attaching pictures to outlook mail

I'm having problems attaching photos to Outlook mail messages. My previous PC used XP and it was simple to click on Attach in the Outlook mail message and choose a photo(s) from My Pictures in My Documents. (Alternatively I could right click on any photo and select attach to email) Now my HP Touchscreen uses Vista and photos are kept in Windows Photo Gallery but don't seem to be accessible via My Documents (the only way I have found of locating and storing photos is via the Windows icon which takes me to the photo gallery). I can't work out how to locate photos to attach them if I click on Attach in an Outlook mail message. I have tried going in to Windows Photo gallery, selecting a photo and then clicking E-mail then attach as suggested in help and support, but although the  screens appear nothing happens and no mail message appears. I'd really appreciate it if anyone can help!

Vista does not have outlook - it uses Windows Mail. Have you set up Windows Mail?
If not, you can use this support document to go through the whole procedure.
However, I recommend not using Windows Mail and switching to Web-based email service: such as Windows Live mail, Yahoo Mail, Google's GMail, MSN Hotmail, and others. These services are failry easy to set up and they are easy to access from anywhere in the world and from any PC (you can easily check mail from any PC that has Internet).. all you need to know is your logon and password.
I use Yahoo and GMail...not sure about the others. With either of these, when you want to attach a picture you click an attach button and pop up window lets you browse to the image file on your hard drive (if you know where it is). They even scan the files for viruses for you automatically.
As far as where your photos are being saved, Vista uses an entirely new browsing interface that can be very confusing if you are used to XP. Also... photo gallery is the Windows software for viewing photos - it's not the same as the old "My Pictures" folder. The equivilent to My Pictures is Pictures... Click the Blue Start button in the lower left and then click Pictures in the upper right portion of the start menu. If you can't find what you are looking for , click Public in the left side of the Pictures folder and you can find more Public Pictures folders.
