Problem authorizing iPhone to get new music.

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is just a weird iTunes bug or what. When I tried to put new music on my iPhone, I got a message that it wasn't authorized for this computer, so it wouldn't sync anything from my library onto my phone. So I went to the iTunes store as the message and online forums suggested, went to "Store" in the menu, and clicked "Authorize." I was told in the iTunes store that my phone was already authorized. So I returned to iTunes and again tried to sync music, and I was again told that my phone wasn't authorized. Am I missing something here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

nothing works in trying to get it on my iPhone 5, if that's not clear

    You created a new AppleID?
Why not simply update your old AppleID so you have only one iTunes account?

  • Does anyone have problems with iPhone 5 getting hot?

Does anyone have problems with iPhone 5 getting hot? I just bought a new iPhone 5 & it's gotten hot twice. Once when I was on FaceTime for 30 min it got hot about 15 min into the call. & once when I was downloading some apps.

It is normal for it to get warm when it's being used, especially if it is hot outside. It can even get uncomfortably warm. As long as it is not causing you physical harm (as in giving you burns) or displaying a temperature warning, then it's normal behavior. It's like taking your laptop outside and using it. Except the laptop will probably burn you.

My computer crashed and I downloaded Itunes on a new computer and I'm trying to get new music and it says my Ipod is synced with another itunes library {my dead computer} and I can either erase and sync or transfer itunes purchases. Is there any way possible I dont have to erase my music? So frustrating.

Yes. I have no personal experience with this, but it is possible to recover your music from an iPod. See this link: http://guides.macrumors.com/Recovering_Songs_from_an_iPod

  • My old computer crashed, my new one won't let me get my music off my iphone or put new music on it.

So i had my iphone connected to my old computer.  It crashed.  However i had my work computer that i was going to use.  My work computer is connected to my ipad.  I can plug my iphone into my work computer and see everyting on it but i can't copy all my music onto my work computer or put new music from my workcomputer onto my iphone.  My Itunes on my work computer is authorized as well.  HELP pleae! Thanks!

If you bought your music from iTunes, right click on your iPod in the device list and choose "transfer purchases".
For all music you did not buy via the iTunes store, you'll have to use 3rd party software like Touchcopy for example.

  • Iphone wont sync new music with new Macbook.

I recently purchased a new Macbook. Through home sharing I manged to transfer my itunes library from my old computer to my new one. Although my device is recognized on my new computer instead of being recognized as "Nicole's Iphone" its simply "Iphone". This morning I downloaded a few new songs to my library and tried to sync them to my phone with no luck. The phone will sync when connected to my new computer but none of the new music is transfered. How do I get my new computer to properly recognize my iphone? Do I need to deactivate itunes on my old computer? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

    Hello CNicole2000
Ensure that your new computer is authorized for your Apple ID and then sync to test. If it does not work, then check Manually manage music and videos and then drag and drop the files that you want on your iPhone.

  • Sharing iTunes btwn two users -- getting new music to show up for both

I'm setting up a new PC with Windows 7 and, at the same time, setting up two new iPhones.  In trying to keep my wife's iPhone linked to her Apple ID and my iPhone to mine, I followed the directions here -- http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1203 -- and set up iTunes on each of our Windows user accounts and put the iTunes Media Library files in a public location we can both access.
My problem now is, when one of us adds new music to iTunes (to the shared, public folder in Windows), it doesn't automatically show up in the other's iTunes library.  I know that I can manually go in and use "Add File/Folder to Library...", but, is there a way to have this happen without user intervention?
Many thanks for any help you can provide!
    Bobby

    Don't do it.. !!
Apple says specifically don't put your iphoto library on the TC.
    And I quote.
    iphoto network no no.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1198
It's recommended that you store your iPhoto library on a locally mounted hard drive. Storing your iPhoto library on a network share can lead to poor performance, data corruption, or data loss.
    See further
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6692100
The TC has no media smarts at all.. none.. it is completely dumb stupid hard disk in a router.
If you put libraries on the TC apart from being slow.. because all files must be transferred via the Mac running itunes you then have no backup and no way to backup your files.
Get a large external drive or get a proper NAS with built in iTunes server. (although exactly how well they work I am not sure).
You still should not put your main iphoto library on the NAS but you can put a copy.

  • With an empty iTunes but a music-filled phone, how can I get new music to the iTunes then to my phone without deleting the music on my phone?

The computer I had all of my iTunes music on recently got a virus and was completley wiped. I will now be attempting to use my laptop for iTunes, which I just installed. But now my iPhone 4 has 150+ songs and my iTunes has none. I know I cannot transfer my music from iPhone->iTunes, but can I download new music to my iTunes, then sync my phone and not lose all my music? I am basically asking if I have only 20 songs on my iTunes that aren't on my phone, is there a way to sync and add the music from iTunes to my phone (already has music on it) without replacing it with everything I have on it?
    Thank you so much!

You can't. Sorry. In order to sync with a new iTunes library, the media on the phone will be wiped.
Music purchased from the iTunes store can be re-downloaded at no charge. Anything else will have to be restored from the last backup of your computer before it was wiped or you will need to purchase 3rd party software to try and extract the music from the phone.

  • Iphone 4 and new music

    I have an iPhone 4.
A lot of the new music I recently purchased that fades in and out in volume.
    I have push turned off.
    Notifications off.
    All apps off.
music fades, brand new earbuds, apple earbuds, plugged all the way in.
    Hard restart.
What else.  must I erase and begin from scratch?
    Win 7 64
    itunes 10.4.1.10
    iphone 4 version 4.3.5 (8L1)
    firmware 04.10.01

Yes and as long as the apps are compatible on the iPad you should be OK. This article explains how to do it. This talks about iPad to iPad but it works the same way from iPhone to iPad.

  • How do I get new music on my iPod using my new computer?

My old computer crashed and I downloaded iTunes on my new one. I plugged in my iPod but it won't sync. I bought new music through iTunes but I can't get it to go onto my iPod with my other music. What can I do? I don't want to lose my old music! I hope I don't have to factory restore my iPod to use it with my new computer.

Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one, then sync

  • Getting new music from iTunes library to iPod?

For the past week or so, my iPod hasn't been syncing correctly to my iTunes. I have too many songs on my iTunes to fit my iPod Touch (4th Gen.), so i uncheck the ones I don't want. However, the new songs that I've added from that's in my Recently Added playlist on my iTunes won't add onto my iPod. I've tried taking all of the music off my iPod and putting it back on, but it's like the iPod won't respond at all. Nothing changes when I change settings and new music, or even TV shows, can come on or off it. Idk what to do at this point. Help?

  • Problem activating iPhone 4 on new network.

Hello, I have received an iPhone 4 from a friend who has recently upgraded, he is on vodafone and I am on Giffgaff both in the UK.
He has been in touch and been granted a factory unlock from his network for me, although when he originally retired the handset he did a full "as new" restore through iTunes. I cannot activate the phone with my sim as it's not the original carrier but therefore also cannot get beyond the activation of the handset in order to "apply" the factory unlock through iTunes.
Is there anyway around this problem or will I have to borrow/acquire a Vodafone sim to firstly activate and then update through iTunes? Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick altogether? Help much appreciated!

There is no way around. SIM is required for activation and not for a Restore. (Once unlock is approved, then only after restore, with any SIM inserted in, it can be activated. So long it is locked, you always need Vodafone SIM.)
    Hope it answers.
