thank for your collaborate

hi,
check this oss note, hope it solve your problem.
No SID for the 0UNIT or 0CURRENCY characteristic
SAP Note Number: 619987
Symptom
Message BRAIN 070 appears when you load transaction data into an InfoCube or into an ODS object:"No SID for value '&' of characteristic <...> found".<...> is a characteristic that refers to 0CURRENCY or 0UNIT.
Other terms
0UNIT, 0CURRENCY, BRAIN070
Reason and Prerequisites
As of 3.0B Support Package 9 or 3.1C Support Package 4, only valid values are allowed for currencies and units.A unit is valid if it is in the T006 table and a currency is valid if it is in the TCURC table.Note that there is a conversion exit on the MSEHI field of the T006 table.
Since only internal values can be posted there, you must deactivate the conversion exit during the analysis of the T006 table with transaction SE16 (Settings > User parameter > Tab DataBrowser > Consider conversion exit cannot be selected).
Solution
If you do not find the value in the T006 or TCURC table, you must insert it. Note that the initial value is always allowed.
If you nevertheless receive this error message for the initial value, this means that there is an inconsistency in the SID table for the 0UNIT or 0CURRENCY characteristic. You can eliminate this inconsistency by calling the RSDMD_INITIAL_LINE_INSERT function module with I_CHABASNM = 0UNIT or 0CURRENCY.
If units are loaded in the external format, you must either convert these into the internal format in the transfer or update rules or change the extractor/file.The CONVERSION_EXIT_CUNIT_INPUT function module converts the external value of a unit into the internal value.

• Problems in displaying chinese characters with utf-8 encoding

Hi,
I got problem in displaying chinese characters in my web application.
I am creating a web application supporting both English and Chinese charaters. What I am trying to do is:
1. storing some chinese characters via a web page (page1) into database.
2. retrieve the chinese characters via another web page (page2) from the database.
Once I put the Chinese characters on the webpage (page1 in step #1), it displayes well (the readable chinese characters) before I submit this page (after submit, the data will be stored into the database).
But when I tried to display the chiese characters via page2 in step#2, I got un-readable characters displayed.
The running configuration is: Sun Application Server (coming and with the JSC2) and MySQL server 5.0. And I setup the database server with utf8 as character-set.
It seems like the chinese characters got messed up throught the round-trip (from page1<----via jdbc---->database<----via jdbc------>page2).
From the database, I found the chinese characters are there. Any helps are appreciated.

Hi,
I am trying to insert new record. The record may contain chineese or English data.
I did same what u specified.
first I converted to the byte UTF8.again,I converted byte to string using 8859_1.
the values are not storing chinese characters.
pls suggest me.
below is my code.

• Problems with characters like "Á", "É"

Hi, I'm having trouble when reading data with characters "Á", "É", "Ñ" from a database. If I use this:
stmt = this.conexion.createStatement ();it works fine, but of course cannot access the records in the ResultSet but with method next ().
As I wanted to use absolute (), first (), etc. I wrote that:
stmt = this.conexion.createStatement (ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);but when I try to read for example the word "PÉREZ", I get the word "0x50C38952455A".
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

This is my connection code:
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, login, password); The code that works:
(1)
stmt = conn.createStatement ();The code that doesn't:
(2)
stmt = conn.createStatement (ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);Then, the same code to execute the query:
rs = stmt.executeQuery ("SELECT MY_VARCHAR_FIELD FROM MY_TABLE");And to retrieve the value:
String myValue = rs.getString ("MY_VARCHAR_FIELD");The odd thing is that before using a scrollable ResultSet (code snippet (1)), this worked perfectly. But, since I changed to code snippet (2), it doesn't for those characters.

• Language: Filename with characters for arabic turns question mark

Language: Filename with characters for arabic turns question mark
OS: Solaris 9
Machine: Sun-Fire 25K
There is an adobe distiller software that is configured and a java apps. There are postscript files that are being converted to .pdf format using the adobe distiller. Using the GUI (using the Exceed; for remote access), when they use GUI to convert the postscripts to pdf files, the long filenames have the corresponding characters for arabic reading purpose. This is OK.
When we use the windows RUN to telnet the server and convert the postscripts to pdf, it gives a question marks characters in the filenames ( this; is a sample; filename; ?? ??? ??; right.pdf )
We are not sure now if we have to add a package of arabic or a patch to resolve this problem.

Solution found, I'll post the work around to those who might encounter the same problem.
Somewhere in the layers of technology (webwork or weblogic I'd guess), the servlet response is encoded into UTF-8 regardless. The encoding in the database was ISO-8859-1. Sending ISO encoded bytes by UTF-8 caused the conflicting character codes (anything above 127) to show up as undefined.
The fix is to decode the input byte array into ISO-8859 string, then encode that string into UTF-8, which can be send by Weblogic.
isoConvert = new String(buf, "ISO-8859-1");
out.write(isoConvert.getBytes("UTF-8"), 0, isoConvert.getBytes("UTF-8").length);

• Problem in dealing with special-character filename

Hi,
I am facing a weird problem while dealing with a file which has a special character in its name. That character is the big-hyphen, i.e. '–' (not the normal hyphen we can type from keyboard), you would have seen this character in MS Word.
My java program is running on HP-UX OS, and its basically trying to copy this file to a Windows target system through socket. But while executing it, I am getting Broken Pipe Exception.
I am applying UTF-8 encoding while running my program (by specifying the argument "-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8" in the java process), and I am also confirming that the file-encoding is being applied to UTF-8 properly by putting a debug in the beginning of the program. My understanding is UTF-8 supports all the characters exist in this world.
Any suggestion / pointers would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Rajiv

Fine..... but is there any way to know which encoding has been applied on it ..
Let's say if you create any file on unix-based system in any application, which encoding gets applied there by default ?
This file is basically nothing but an html page created using 'Save As' from the browser.
The person who has created the file is a non-technical .. and won't know much about this all stuff... encoding etc.

• Issue with characters like u0151 in maintaining text

Hi,
When characters are entered as per HU language, we face trouble with characters like ő Ő into text fields like in sales order. As soon as this letter is entered, it is changed to 'O' as in EN language.
changing -> Options-> Character set -> Central European, makes the display ő as ő .
1. Is this the permanent solution for this problem ? or do we have any better idea ?
2. Does this character set do any command in printing (SAP Scripts/ Smart Forms / PDF) ?
Please let me know your thoughts.

• Problem loading Kanji(Chinse) characters

Hi,
I am having problem in loading Kanji characters in the database (Oracle 10g).
Background
There is an application which I am working on which provides the functionality to upload spreadsheets directly into the database. For this, we are utilizing a JAVA parser which parses the file into .txt and subsequently into a .dat file and then uploads it in the database.
Problem Statement
If a spreadsheet contains Kanji chracters, it is displayed as inverted question marks when it is loaded in the database. The data is loaded via SQL Loader.
I have checked the database parameters and they are as follows:
NLS_LANG AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
NLS_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
NLS_CHARACTERSET UTF8
NLS_TERRITORY AMERICA
Please help!
Thanks,
Manas

DomBrooks,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I found that there is no issue on the database side.
The NLS_LANG was not set correctly for the user id I was logging with. I set it up manually.
After that I tried to do a manual insert into the table with a Kanji value and it got inserted absolutely fine!
However, I tried the methods you mentioned and got the following results:
1. For a Kanji value 朝阳区, the DUMP function returned the values Typ=1 Len=6: 63,63,63,63,63,63 which clearly shows the ASCII value for ?. I am not sure what is meant by Typ 1. But one thing is sure that the data that is coming after parsing the spreadsheet is itself corrupted.
Now I looked into the JAVA parser. It first converts the spreadsheet into a .txt file and then by mv it renames it to a .txt.data file.
While converting to .txt file we are specifying encoding as 'UTF-8' like the example below.
Writer out = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(
new FileOutputStream("outfilename"), "UTF8"));
However I am not sure if converting this .txt file to a .txt.data file changes the encoding.
Another issue is that we are loading the data through SQL uploader. There we have put a TRIM function on the column which contains Kanji characters. Can this be the issue?
Thanks,
Manas

the problem I have since I upgraded to Mavericks version 10.9.1
The problem appears only with Mail not with other programs, not even with my browser.
When I try to zoom the text of an e-mail I received or sent , I can no longer use the keys Command + to enlarge the text, although I can reduce it with Command -.
As I have a problem with my eyes, This is a serious matter for me.
When I write an e-mail, if I select text and press Command +, it just displaces the text to the right.
Now, my husband has a USB keyboard. If he connects it to my computer, his regular Command + does not work either, but he uses the extended keyboard, then it works. Unfortunately, he needs it for a musical application which does not work with a wireless keyboard.

Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10".

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

• Why does my iPhone 4 not charge correctly? Problem is definitely with the phone and not charges or chords. Phone will charge but very slowly and no icon comes on. Computer and iTunes doesn't recognize it a being connected.

My iPhone 4 quit charging correctly. It does charge but very slowly and icon doesn't indicate it as charging. I've checked cables and charges and the problem is definetily with the phone. My car stereo no longer recognizes it as a device. Neither does the computer. The real strange thing to me is that when I plug it into my old klispch speaker dock it will play songs. My battery life is good when it is charged so I don't think its the battery. I've tried resetting the phone and cleaning the charging port. I'm out of warranty.
Would disconnecting the battery possibly reset it from some glitch or is the charging port got some bad contacts?

I checked with the Genius Bar. It was a new dilema to the lady that was helping me. She took it to a back room and worked on it but it came out the same. She gave me some options for repair or credit for replacement.
I just kept the phone and put up with slowly charging it by plugging it in and then turning it off.
I couldn't transfer anything from itunes.
I finally got fed up and bought a new charging port for $10. and a toolkit for $3. I looked up a video on youTube for the replacement and did it.
That solved all the problems, it was the charging port, must have been some bad pins or something because it patially worked.

Having installed an upgrade for Photoshop Elements 13, I cannot open the application. I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X".
I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but get the same error message.

Which version of OS X do you have? It's not clear from your post whether "installed an upgrade" means you just installed PSE 13 as an upgrade or you installed an update to PSE 13, like ACR 9 or 13.1. Please clarify.

• Problem when syncing with MobileMe

I am using iPhone 3G, software 2.1. I use GMail for email (no problems) but my contacts, and only my contacts, sync through MobileMe.
The problem is that with MobileMe active, my Contact list, "Mail, Contacts and Calendars" settings and several other minor features simply do not work - they open, pause for a few seconds, then crash. The Mail application also hangs and crashes every other time I open it.
My local Apple Store restored 2.1, after which my Contact list and Email worked perfectly until I re-activated my MobileMe syncing, after which the problems resumed.
As the problems occurred only after MobileMe syncing is turned on, I assume this is the cause of the problem, but because "Mail, Contacts..." settings crashes every time I open it I cannot disable MobileMe syncing.
Any suggestions please? All help gratefully received...

This was resolved by completely removing the MobileMe account from the iPhone, rebooting it and adding the account again.

• Problems sending emails with iPhone 3G and outlook exchange

I have a problem sending email with exchange. Receiving and answering mail works fine and calender updates work fine. However when I initiate an email from the phone it syncs and ends up in the sent folder in the computer but never reaches the recipient. I have tried this many times with different recipients and phones. It only happens from my iphone and ipad. Any suggestions?
Any help much appreciated

The iPhone you returned is still syncing against your server and locking out your account. Someone possibly has access to your mail data. I'd recommend having your Exchange Administrator install the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E6851D23-D145-4DBF-A2CC -E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) and attempt to wipe/delete/block that other iPhone.
