Problem calling Oracle's procedure in Chain

Hi
In chain I call Oracle's procedure using ABAP code:
======================================
REPORT  ZETL_MAIN.
DATA: p_err_code TYPE i,
      p_msg(1000) TYPE c.
EXEC SQL.
  EXECUTE PROCEDURE ETL.MAIN (OUT :p_err_code, OUT :p_msg)
ENDEXEC.
IF p_err_code = 0.
  MESSAGE  p_msg TYPE 'I'.
ELSE.
  MESSAGE  p_msg TYPE 'E'.
ENDIF.
============================================
Every time after I change procedure, compile it
and run chain for the first time, I recieve error.
Doing nothing, I run chain the second time and it is
completed with success.
Does anybody know the reason of it ?
Regards
PWnuk

Hi,
The addition %ERRCODE is exclusively designed for internal use. It is no longer available as of Release 6.10
please see the note 364707
May be you can change code this way
EXEC SQL.
EXECUTE PROCEDURE
sap_distr_utils_pkg.get_info_cli_prc(
in :w_kunnr,
out :nome1 )
ENDEXEC.
IF SY-SUBRC ne 0 OR nome1 ne 347.
    WRITE: / 'Wrong result for EXECUTE PROCEDURE:', nome1.
ENDIF.

  • Problem Calling Oracle Stored Procedure From JAVA

    Hello all. I've been banging my head against this all day:
    Here's the procedure I'm calling:
    GetIDsByLatLonRadius(inLatitude IN NUMBER,
    inLongitude IN NUMBER,
    inRadius IN NUMBER,
    inTableName IN VARCHAR2,
    inIDColName IN VARCHAR2,
    inLatColName IN VARCHAR2,
    inLonColName IN VARCHAR2,
    LocationIDs OUT HomesCom_Types.GenericCursorType,
    ErrorNo OUT VARCHAR2);
    And here's the JAVA code:
    public Hashtable GetInRadius(Hashtable inStruct)
    ResultSet locationIDs = null;
    Hashtable outputHash = new Hashtable();
    float latitude = (float) 30.429;
    float longitude = (float) -84.2585;
    float radius = (float) 10;
    try {
    CallableStatement proc = con.prepareCall("{ call GEOCODING.getidsbylatlonradius(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?) }");
    proc.setFloat(1,latitude);
    proc.setFloat(2,longitude);
    proc.setFloat(3,radius);
    proc.setString(4,"demographics_school");
    proc.setString(5,"onboard_id");
    proc.setString(6,"geocoding_latitude");
    proc.setString(7,"geocoding_longitude");
    proc.registerOutParameter(8,OracleTypes.CURSOR);
    proc.registerOutParameter(9,OracleTypes.VARCHAR);
    proc.execute();
    locationIDs = (ResultSet) proc.getObject(1);
    if (locationIDs != null)
    outputHash.put("query",locationIDs);
    else
    outputHash.put("query","LOCATION ID WAS NULL");
    catch(SQLException sqlException) {
    System.out.println(
    "The following error occured in reading " +
    "from the table: "
    + sqlException);
    outputHash.put("error",sqlException.getMessage());
    return outputHash;
    This catches and the sqlException I get is: Unhandled sql type
    I'm not a java expert and I'm completely stuck at this point, so I figured a few more eyes on it might help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Danny

    Danny,
    Don't print merely the error message, print the whole stack trace.
    Then post it here.
    What java version are you using?
    What JDBC driver and version are you using?
    What Oracle database version are you using?
    Is the code from a Java ServerPages (JSP) or from a Java Stored Procedure (JSP)?
    I guess "HomesCom_Types" is one of your PL/SQL packages or routines, right?
    If so, then you can't use it in JDBC, you must define a database type using the command:
    create or replace type ...But in later versions of the Oracle database, the REF CURSOR type is built-in.
    Check the Oracle documentation for more details.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

    --                         status_message, 0, debug_message);
        ROLLBACK;
    END send_rm;
    And while i am calling this Store procedure in MII, I am facing error.
    I have tried different ways but didnt solved
    In SQL Query, i kept mode as: FixedQueryOutput
    Can anyone tell me or send code for calling above store procedure
    And onemore thing, While creating store procedure in Oracle for MII. Do we need to Create output parameter as cursor or normal.
    Thanks,
    Kind Regards,

    Hi Praveen
    Our wrapper was created because we could not modify the procedure we call (it was not returning a cursor).

    then with a FixedQueryWithOutput
    call mixar.qasap.wrapper_update_put_in_use('[Param.1]','[Param.2]',[Param.3],?)
    Hope this helps.

  • Calling Oracle store procedure from Crystal 11 command

    I need to call Oracle store procedure from Crystal Command. The Store proc has ref cursor. Is it possible. Can you post few examples?
    Also, is it possible to have multiple sql statements in a Crystal Command, when working with Oracle 10g?
    It is working for SQL server.

    Please re-post if this is still an issue to the Data Connectivity - Crystal Reports Forum or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly.

    I am trying to invoke the Oracle stored procedure from Java. The procedure does not take any parameters and does not return anything. If I call it from SQL prompt it is working perfectly. I am calling it in my program as follows.

  • Calling Oracle stored procedure from java

    The following query calls a stored procedure TRANSLATE_ZONEPATH_ID defined in a package MT by the user MTDBA. currentZone is a member variable of the class, and currently has value 1
    This query works just fine when I run it from SQLPlus* connected as MTDBA.
    But from java, the following piece throws exception saying "invalid column name"
    String query = "SELECT MTDBA.MT.TRANSLATE_ZONEPATH_ID('"+currentZone+"') "

    try this:

  • Calling Oracle stored procedure with out param of user define type from Entity Framework 5 with code first

    Guys i am using Entity Framework 5 code first (I am not using edmx) with Oracle and all works good, Now i am trying to get data from stored procedure which is under package but stored procedure have out param which is user define type, Now my question is
    how i will call stored procedure from entity framework
    Thanks in advance.

    I agree with you, but issue is we have lots of existing store procedure, which we need to call where damn required. I am sure those will be few but still i need to find out.
    If you think you are going to get existing MS Stored Procedures  or Oracle Packages that had nothing to do with the ORM previously to work that are not geared to do simple CRUD operations with the ORM and the database tables, you have a rude awakening
    coming that's for sure. You had better look into using ADO.NET and Oracle Command objects and call those Oracle Packages by those means and use a datareader.
    You could use the EF backdoor, call Oracle Command object and use the Packages,  if that's even possible, just like you can use MS SQL Server Stored Procedures or in-line T-SQL via the EF backdoor.
    That's about your best shot.

  • Calling Oracle Stored procedure with OUT parameter from ODI

    Hi,
    I called an oracle stored procedure with following anonymous block in the ODI procedure.
    Declare
    Status varchar2(10);
    Begin
    OTM.DeleteTarget('E_KPI_TARGET_VALUE', Status);
    End;
    I want to capture the OUT parameter STATUS value in a project level variable.
    And based on its va;lue I would like to choose between 2 interfaces in my package.
    Please help me in doing this.

    Hi,
    For that kind of situation I commoly use:
    1) one step with:
    create or replace package <%=odiRef.getSchemaName("W")%>.pck_var
    Status varchar2(10);
    end;
    * transaction 9, for instance
    2) step
    Begin
    OTM.DeleteTarget('E_KPI_TARGET_VALUE', <%=odiRef.getSchemaName("W")%>.pck_var.Status);
    End;
    * transaction 9
    3) then, at an ODI variable, use a refresh like:
    select <%=odiRef.getSchemaName("W")%>.pck_var.Status from dual
    at same logical shema where the package was created.

    Hello everybody, I am trying to call a stored procedure Oracle on Oracle 10g XE from Java.
    I can succesfully execute query from Java, so I can say that driver, connection, ... are all right.
    I have the following error when I try to call a stored procedure or a function.
    I think that it is a bug of the file OraClient10.Dll, so, in general, a bug that don't depends from my code. So I install the most recent version of JDK/JRE, and I download again file OraClient10.Dll but result was the same.
    Please help me!
    Thank you
    Ulix

    Why not just connect via the thin mode of the driver, not the oci mode?
    You'll get all the functionality and none of the native code bug risk.
