Problem Change SAP Query in Crystal Reports

Hi,
i have a problem with changing a SAP Query in an Crystal Reports.
I build a Report with a Query(1) and Design the Report complet everything works fine.
I make a new Query(2) and if i make a new Crystal Report with this new Query everything works fine.
Now my problem is i would like to use the design of the first report. Therefore i open the first report and save it under a new name. Delete all Database fields and delete the database connection.
Now i gave in the new database connection to the new query(2) and in the Database fields i see a lot of Fields but not the right ones. Its completly wrong. Is there anybody how know this problem?????

Hi i solved my problem by myself.
I have to set Query as external available and have to use the MDX Query.
Its strange because if i build a new report the query dont have to be set as external available.

Hello Experts,
I facing a problem.
I have a crystal report based on a BW Query. It has one parameter called Country.
Eg:
Until now, in BW query country variable has the following values.
USA
JAPAN
GERMANY
Now, from this fiscal year we have the following values for country variable
USA
JAPAN
INDIA
GERMANY
UK
I am trying to edit the list of values for the country variable in crystal reports. It is not getting reflected in SAP BW. I also tried refreshing it several times.
THE VARIABLE IS A HIERARCHY VARIABLE.
Can any one Please help.!!

You said that you are using version XI R2 SP2 (for BO Enterprise) - do you have any FixPacks on this codeline? (FP2.x)
Question: If YES to above, have you made use of the equivalent FixPack for Integration Kit? (known as "Partners Fix Pack 2.x ")
There are a few fixes in this area, I was thinking like:
ADAPT00716808 - When scheduling a report from SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW) that contains parameters from a hierarchy or a hierarchy node variable, the default values fail to be displayed from InfoView. >>
ADAPT00894127 - When users enter date parameters in the Calendar dialog box in SAP InfoView, the dates entered fail to appear in the corresponding field.

Query regarding Crystal Reports Server

Hi,
I am new to Crystal Reports.
I have created a couple of .rpt files using CR2008 and I am loading these report files in my aspx pages using CrystalReportViewer control.
I am planning to host my webApp on IIS in production environment. Maximum simultaneous/concurrent connections to my reports would be 1 or 2.
My question is:
1. Do I need Crystal Reports Server in this scenario?
2. In future if the number of concurrent users to report increases then do I need to go for Crystal Reports Server? Will just buying and installing the Crystal reports server on production server work? or will I have to do some configuration or some other changes in the existing deployed reports? OR Will I have to deploy my existing reports on Crystal Report Server again?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Error when opening a BW query with Crystal Reports

Hi all,
I am having problems when opening a BW query with Crystal Reports, the strange thing is that it only happens with
the bo user I have created. If I use a user that already exists and that has SAP_ALL authorization it works.
I don't know if this could be an authorizations issue, but I have created a role with all the authorizations stated in the manual.
The error I am getting is the following:
"An error occurred while generating a new report template. Error in UNKNOWN.RPT file"
Does anyone know what this could be?

I cannot access the system now. But I think it is not an issue of authorization, because I assigned all the good user's role to the bo user,
and even with that, it still don't work.

Modify SQL query in Crystal Reports 2013

Hi Claude,
If you are creating reports using tables then go in Database menu and click on show SQL query, this will show the SQL generated by crystal reports. Now go in database expert and expend your connection and double click on Add Command and past the query which was generated by Crystal and try to modify the date format and click OK.
Now you need to redesign your reports based on Add command.
or
If your reports datasource is Add command you can directly go in add command and change it.

Problems with parameter button in Crystal Report Server 2008

Dear all,
I have problems with parameter button in Crystal Report Server 2008.
when I created some parameters and groups in Crystal Report 2008, they showed both parameters in 'Parameter button' and group in 'Group button' on the left, so I can choose or type without clicking 'Refresh button' But when I added it to Crystal Report Server 2008 and I click parameter button , it doesn't show any parameter. Only click refresh button to choose them. On the other hand, for 'Group Tree' is ok. When go to Default Setting-> Parameter, all parameters are in 'Unused parameter' First time I think I had problems with my installation, but when I reinstalled it again, it was like before.
Could any one help me with this?

Convert BI query into Crystal Report

Dear Sir,
I have drawn a structure in BI query onto Crystal Report,
my question is that, can I delete one single field from this structure on Crystal Report ?
'cause when I tried to delete one single field, the whole structure is deleted.
In addition, can I change the field name(text/description) on Crystal Report ?

Hi,
in Crystal Reports you can still decide which parts of the underlying query you would like to use in the report.
in case you mean a actual structure in the BW query and having 2 structures overall, one of the structures becomes rows of data in your report and you could if required filter it out.
In terms of texts - you can for sure create your own headings.

I have created report from SAP BW query using SAP toolbar in Crystal Report. I saved my report in BW server. Now I want to Publish the report into BO server.
I read that using BW publisher we can publish into BO server.
What is BW Publisher? How can i publish into BO server using Publisher?

Depends on datasource type but you could have a look at ODBC trace or if you have access to the SQL Server you could use profiler to monitor the session.

No SAP Datasources or SAP Toolbar in Crystal Reports 2008

I cannot see the SAP toolbar or SAP datasources under "Create New Connection" in Crystal Reports 2008 SP1.
After reading many threads on SDN and reistalling Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the BOBJ SAP Integration Kit many times I have not been able to get this to work. I have installed the following in order:
- SAP GUI for Windows
Release: 710
Build: 1046700
Patch Level: 12
includes the BW 3.5 AddOn and BI 7 AddOn
Crystall Reports 2008 SP1 which I installed all components except Legacy XML Export.
Business Objects XI Integration Kit XI 3.1 for SAP which I installed all desktop components and all server components excluding web content and SDK. This was a local install on my PC.
I have ensured that I have only one instance of SAPLOGON.ini on my PC.
I have not applied the transports yet because I want to see the SAP datasources and SAP toolbar in Crystal Reports before I progress.
We do not have Business Objects Enterprise and I'm not sure what "BOE 3.1 Client Tools" is referred to earlier in this thread. My understanding is that in addition to SAP and BW we just need Crystal Reports 2008 and the SAP integration kit.
We are on ECC6 and BW 3.5.
I hope someone can help.

Thanks for your response. I finally got this working. My issue was that I originally used the Crystal Reports 2008 and BOBJ Int Kit downloads from the SAP support portal. I checked with another SDN user Steven Dierick - thanks Steven - for the version of Crystal Reports 2008 he was using (version 12.0.0.683).
I downloaded Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.0.0.683 and the BOBJ Int Kit from the downloads section of sdn and it works!! SAP Toolbar, datasources and everything.
Considering I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 SP0 are there any disadvantages of not using Crystal Reports 2008 SP1?
If I'm better off using SP1 where should I download Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the appropriate BOBJ SAP Integration Kit?

please ask your network admins if there is a firewall between your CR Designer installation and your SAP R/3 system.
I assume that you have imported the necessary trsansports in your SAP R/3 system.
Which kind of driver do you use for the connection to SAP R/3?

Select Query in Crystal Report

Dear all,
I have a report to be developed in which i have to fire more than 2 select quires. I am adding this quires in "Add Command" window, it doesn't give any error but gives output of first query only.
I have tried to use multiple commands in report but the query fields are not having any common field in it so i am not able to link it.
Is there any other way to use more than one query in crystal report?

I am willing to develop a report in which i need to select diff data from diff table such as OOPR,ORDR,OINV and many more.based on diff conditions and it may happen that a query can give more than 2-3 records then i need to make summation for that. On the basis of this summation and some more formulas in CR i need to make some conclusions.
This cannot be done in single query. so i need to fire more than one select query.

Gana,
CR has an "Add Command" feature that will allow you to use hand-coded SQL as your data source.
Look at Defining an SQL Command in CR's online help (F1).
If a command was used in the original report creation, it's a simple matter to go in and edit that SQL.
If the report was not originally built w/ a Command you may find it difficult to switch over. In most cases it easier to start over from scratch, creating a new, blank report, that uses the command.

I am having a problem with SAP query
Execution of SAP query transaction is leading to Dump
the dump says Field 'R01' contains no fields, syntax check on the program shows same error.
When I tried regenerating the Query in SQ01
" Query Specification cannot be use to generate list
Ranked list contains only numeric fields
Please help me

I am not sure what business process you are describing here - is it some kind of third-party sales order? If so, your join is wrong.
From VB E P, firled BANFN and BNFPO you can go to table EBAN, where in field EBELN you will find the number of the purchase order (if somebody already had an MRP+Me58 run over the PR) which will lead you to table EKKO, and EKPO.
So what we have here (essentially is):
VBAK -> VBAP -> VBEP -> EBAN -> EKKO -> EKPO
But that only solves one of your problems - you still have a long way to go to get invoices, partner and partner roles into there and I am beginning to ask myself what exactly it is you want to evaluate.
