Problem: Charges but not recognised

Hey all, I connected my mini to my pc, but the pc dosn't detect it, i-tunes dosn't detect it and it dosn't come up with the 'do not disconnect' image, yet it still charges up and the songs still play fine. Ive tried re-installing i-tunes, resetting my pc and have reconnected it many a time. If anybody knows how to solve this problem it would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

Lucky. My mini is bearly over the six month warrenty period and it wont stay charged. I followed all the trouble shooting steps twice. Apple wants me to pay over 30 bucks to replace the battery. It is still under warrenty!!!!! I am thinking about saleing it on ebay and getting the dell jukebox.

  • 1 USB port charge but not recognise my iphone the othe one works fine

    Hey guys,
    I have MacBook Air 11-inch, Mid 2012
1 USB port just charges my phone but not recgnise it. I tried a flash drive and it didn't recgnise it as well
It was working well but all of a sudden it stopped working
    please help

    Try resetting the PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
After resetting NVRAM or PRAM, you may need to reconfigure your settings for speaker volume, screen resolution, startup disk selection, and time zone information. If issues persist, your Mac's logic board battery (not a portable Mac's rechargeable battery) may need to be replaced. The logic board battery helps retain NVRAM/PRAM settings when your computer is shut down. You can take your Mac to a Mac Genius or Apple Authorized Service Provider to replace the battery on the logic board.

  • HT4528 iphone 5 - dock will charge but not play music.

I've read and read and read posts about this same problem with no solution found.
I have an iphone 5 that just randomly quit playing music through any docking accessories.  It will continue to charge, but not play music.  It worked when I first got it, but later just stopped.  Same docking accessories, same cables, same phone.  Nothing changed, just quit working.  My phone is not jailbroken.  I have restored it.  I updated to the ios7 software which fixed the problem... for a day.  Now we are back to it not working again!
Please, if anyone knows a way to fix this, help me!!!  This is the whole reason why I own an iphone.  It keeps me from having to have a seperate phone and ipod!!!
    Thank you in advance.

Try unplugging the docking station from power for a minute or so, then also in that time, reset your phone by holding the power button and the home button until it turns off. Then turn it back on and try again.

Apple told you it was unrepairable.... You had it serviced by an unauthorized party. It's now no longer eligible for out of warranty replacement by Apple.
There's really nothing else we can say about it. Find a competent 3rd party repair shop or buy a new one.

  • My Mac Mini will charge - but not sync with - USB-connected devices (ipod, camera, memory card reader). How do I fix it?

My Mac Mini will charge - but not sync with - USB-connected devices (ipod, camera, memory card reader). I have tried unplugging the devices, restarting the computer, selectively unplugging and plugging in the devices, closing and opening the relevant applications (iTunes, iPhoto, etc). I have tried using different USB cables.
It's like all of a sudden the synching service stopped functioning or recognizing these devices for some reason. The other ports work just fine (monitor).
The only USB-connected external device that appears to be unaffected is the USB SuperDrive and it works on all the USB ports into which I plug it.
    How do I fix this?

Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens or doesn't happen.

Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
Is your Vista 64-bit?  If yes, do you use the 32-bit version of IE8?

  • My ipod 5th generation charges when connected to my PC but not recognised in itunes with windows 8.1

Why is my ipod 5th generation not recognised in itunes in windows 8.1?Connection to my PC only charges the battery.

Did this iPod previously work with this computer (running Windows 8.1), and does not now for some reason?  Or is this the first time (or the first time with Windows 8.1)?
The fact that only the battery charging symbol appears on the iPod screen seems to indicate that the iPod does not recognize a data connection.  It's like you are connecting the iPod to USB (wall) power adapter.  It is likely that the Windows system also does not see the iPod as a connected device; you should confirm by looking at Device Manager.
You should rule out a faulty USB docking cable.  The dock connector has separate connection points for power and data, so it is possible for it to connect to charge the battery but not connect for data.  So, if possible, try another docking cable, or try the cable you have with another Apple device.
You should rule out a problem on the USB port.  If you connect something else to the same port, does it work properly?  Preferably, you should use something similar, like a USB flash drive or port-powered external drive, and try copying over some large files.
If the USB port and docking cable are OK, the cause is more likely to be on the iPod (such as a dock connector that is worn out from use).

  • IPod is charging and recognised by windows, but not recognised by iTunes.

There was an error message but stupidly I did not read it, and it won't come up again. I've tried restarting my laptop, re-installing iTunes, restarting my iPod and all sorts.
The reason (I think) it stopped working was because I was trying to copy music from my iPod to my iTunes, and windows was not recognising it, so a friend suggested deleting and re installing the driver, which was successful. But when I then went on to iTunes, it came up with the error message saying something about the iPod no longer working with iTunes or something, and now won't recognise the iPod no matter what I seem to try.
Is there anything I can do without deleting all the music and resetting the iPod? Because the whole reason I was trying to do this was to back up the music so I could update to ios 5.1 or whatever it is, without losing all my music which I don't have on iTunes as it's a new laptop.
    Thank you.
    Ben x

    Try here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
It will not delete your library.

  • My iPhone 3G charges with a charger, but not when connected via USB to my computer and iTunes doesn't recognize it.

Hello, my iPhone charges when I charge it with the wall plug but not when connected to a computer via USB and my iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone either. iTunes recognizes my iPod and iPad just fine. I have been to Apple iPhone support page and I have restarted my iPhone, the computer, tried different USB ports, etc. I have also tried my iPhone on different macs even with different versions of iTunes and no luck. This all started when I was cleaning out some lint from the usb connector, could I have damaged some part of the docking connection? But why does it charge with a wall plug then?

I fixed the problem. When I was trying to clean the connector of the iPhone I must have bent some pins. I have straightened them to the best of my ability and now it syncs. If your iPhone charges, but doesn't sync, most likely you have a similar problem, because the iPhone doesn't need all of its pins to charge, but it does need all of them to sync.

  • IPod formatted properly but not recognised

    Hey everyone,
If this is answered somewhere else - sorry!
I was cleaning up my hard drive the other day and deleted the ipod updater (silly me!) and that meant my ipod could no longer be recognised in itunes etc. I downloaded the lastest updater and restored my ipod (multiple times) and resetting but its still not recognised. I checked on the ipod and it is formatted for windows (as I wanted it to be). I think the problem is with the driver. When I check in the device manager it says the ipod is a generic storage device.
I'm really at a loss as to what to try now. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Lisa,
Deleting or uninstalling the iPod Updater software will not disable the iPod from syncing with iTunes. I recently installed a new HD, installed iTunes, but have not yet installed any iPod Updater software, and my mini still connects and syncs. Several times without issue. So it is most likely not the fault of that....
    Try Resetting Your iPod
i while it's connected to the computer
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
    Also See:
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod
iPod does not appear in iTunes or on the desktop
iPod appears in Windows Explorer but does not appear in iTunes

  • Smart form exists but not recognised by application

    Hi all,
We are testing SAP ERP 6.0 and migrated a smart form into our client. The form can be displayed in SMARTFORMS and also shows as "active". I also generated the form. However, when running the dunning program, I get an error message like:
"Form XXXXX language EN is not active and has no errors"
The long text says that the form may not exist. In my legacy client it works fine.
Does anyone know what may be missing to ensure that the smartform is recognised?
    Thanks
    Rene

    Hi Rene
I am facing the same problem
I have implemented event 1720 and function but F150D does not call this event and does not recognise smartform
    this is what comes up
Form ZFSCD_DUNNING_TG language EN is not available in client 220 Message no. TD131 Diagnosis You want to display a form which does not exist. System Response If the form does not exist in the specified language in the current client, the form which was used for printing is displayed by accessing another client. The search is thus graded as follows: - Current client, form in specified language, status irrelevant - Current client, form in original language, status active - Client '000', form in specified language, status active - Client '000', form in original language, status active Procedure You can obtain a list of the form available in the current client using the function 'Find' in the initial screen of the form maintenance. Here you can also output a list of the forms in your current client or another client, using the menu option 'Utilities -> Client comparison'. Did this but still not working After executing F150 it is not printing dunning letter as it showing Forms for MAHNR: 'TG', RBUKM: '2200', KOART: 'D' do not exist (T047E) Thanks
looks like it recognises SAPscript as default and does not change its form to smartfor
please help how to make it happen
    thanks in advance

  • Battery showing 100% charge, but not running off battery

I have an Hp Pavilion 10 Touchsmart that shows a 100% battery charge, but will not run off the battery when I unplug the AC adaptor.   I have tried calibrating the battery which went okay. I have tried uninstalling the microsoft driver for the battery and reinstalling it and it did not fix the problem.I have also checked the "Battery Report" using the cmd prompt. The battery report showed everything was charging good with the battery on the laptop for many days.I checked the "Energy Report" using the cmd prompt. The energy report had some warnings, but it was all relating to energy use.I have owned this little computer for less than a year and it should not be giving me this much trouble. At this point, I think I have done everything I can do on my end especially since I cannot remove the battery without disassembling the laptop.  I do not think it is a bad battery unless it is defective because the computer sees very little use and it is less than a year old so I am thinking a software problem. Any additional suggestions?

It is my understanding Hp warranty is only 90 days which means it is not under warranty. I have owned the laptop for less than a year with it shipped by Hp on "Thur 9/18/2014 5:15 pm". I orginally thought it was not under warranty, but I just tried a Hp warranty status site and it said "2015-10-23" was the warranty expire date.

  • I can connect iPod to charger, but not computer? No symbols or anything.

I have a huge problem with my video iPod. I can connect it to the charger, no problem. But when it comes to connect it to my PC, it just will not read it at all. Usually it dignifies being connected by showing the "do not disconnect" symbol. But now it just will not read at all and shows no other symbols on the iPod. I have tried everything I can on both the PC and iPod but nothing works.
Please help, me being the idiot I am, I have important uni files on the iPod that I need asap.

updated ipad just after and now it will not do anything and can't get it to appear in itunes.
Might need to restart or reinstall the AMDS.
For Windows follow the instructions here > iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
For Mac here > iTunes: How to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service on Mac OS X
