  • Problem reseting Cisco AIR- LAP1131AG

    Dear Expert,
we have customer which used Cisco Air-LAP1131AG and Wireless Lan Controller. The Controller went back to Cisco as Traid in, but we got some AP for our lab.
Problem is, that when you connect via Console cable it brings you into normal mode >, but when going into enable mode it asks for Password. Problem is, that customer changed password and don´t know anymore.
Is it possible to reset the password and configure the AP fresh from beginning?
    Thanks

  • MDS 9216 - showing red status LED, not starting up

    Hi,
In a recent power loss (took out our R&D UPS in the process), an MDS 9216 we have in R&D failed.
On power up, it shows a red status LED, and does nothing. We've pulled and swapped PSUs (something we're told is a common fix for a common problem with these chassis), to no avail.
Strangely, we pulled the fan card (which had a green light), and put it back in to see it now also has a red status light.
We've swapped all cards around for new and spares (even the main cards) and they show up with red status lights in the chassis (can't test them in another chassis at present) so I assume this problem is with the chassis itself (ie the backplane or PSUs).
    Any ideas, any similar experiences?
    Many thanks,

As far as warranty, it would be covered for 1 year or 90 days from purchase....not sure which, but since the 9216 is end of sale for a few years now, I doubt that is covered under warranty. If you have a maintenance contract covering that 9216 serial number, then it would be covered. The design on the 9216 is that the module 1 is not field replaceable. There is no Cisco part number for the slot1 line card. It is a hybrid of a 16 port FC module with a supervisor daughter card. It is basically considered part of the chassis. If you have your own spare 9216 and feel energetic you could replace the slot 1 line card....but from the official support perspective, it is not replaceable.
There are no other replaceable parts besides the chassis and PS that would cause this problem. (I assume you have removed any line card from slot2 to be sure it was not causing the problem).
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Cisco 1131AG LWAP status led yellow and other leds blinking green

I have a problem with three AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9  that joined the controller and the status led turns to yellow after joining the controller while other LEDs are blinking green.
The APs has no coverage at all although the WCS shows that there is coverage and the 4400WLC shows that the AP interfaces are UP. (The ethernet interface and tha 802.11b,g radio interface is up).
    The SSID broadcast is enabled.
On the switch the interface is up and there is traffic going in and out of the LAP.
I tired power reset and factory reset for the APs but the problem remains the same.
Any ideas for what might be the problem ?!!
    Regards

Yes the clients are not able to see the SSID broadcasted by the AP.
But these APs were functioning normally before without any changes to the WLC config.
I had the same problem with other APs but they went back to normal state after a hardware reset to the APs.

    8x Cisco: AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9 also v/7.0.98.0
Interference Profile Failed for Base Radio MAC:

This is a threshold parameter: "Interference Profile failed" along with some others.  All this does is send alerts to the WLC log, to your syslog or to your WCS/NCS or Prime Infrastructure management tool.  You need to adjust these for your environment if you see too many alerts being triggered.  Interference can be a main issue in downtown big citites and you would bump the value up to reduce the number of alerts you see.  Yes interference will cause issues, but this is an alert threshold and will not fix your interference, just tell you that you have interference due to hitting the X value.

  • 1131AG no status LED

    Hello,
One of my 1131AG access points stopped working and I am trying to troubleshoot.
When I apply power (originally it was PoE) the Status LED never does anything (not even a blip), the Ethernet and Radio leds will flash, but the status LED will never light.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Rob

    Rob,
Is this an IOS or LWAPP access point your troubleshooting, the reason I ask is because it's possible to disable that Circular status LED from within the software and it's possible it has gotten disabled.
If it is an LWAPP access point, I'd just do a factory reset on the unit and then see if it comes back up or console into it first and see if it is even booting.
if it is an IOS access point console into the unit and enter enable mode by typing en; then enter config mode (conf t), from there you should have an command that is something like status led  and the options are enable, disable, blink
Hope this helps... Please rate useful posts.

  • How to read the power and status LEDs on cFP2020

Can the cFP2020 Power and Status LEDs be monitored by a host program? Also, can the Power and Ready LEDs be monitored from the other cFP Modules?

You can not directly read the Network Module Power or Status LED from a host program. Likewise, you can not directly read the Power and Ready LED of an IO module.
However, even though you can not directly ready the LED status, there are ways of finding out most of the information that the LEDs convey.
For the Network Module Power LED, you can infer the status of the Power LED by looking at the channel status for any/all items that are on the bank. If the items have errors indicating that a communication timeout has occured or an addressed item does not exist, then it is probable that the unit is offline (either because of no power or a fault). The Status LED indicates the current operating status of the Network module and in most cases, if it is flashing
, then a fault has occured that shutdown the processor. In most cases, you will not be able to determine that the Status LED is flashing, as the Status LED indicates a fault condition which will put the unit into a non-standard operating mode (e.g. firmware corruption, unassigned IP Address, or an OS fault).
For the IO modules, each channel on a module can report status, and based upon the status you can infer the state of the LEDs. If the module does not have the Power LED lit, the most likely status will be "Addressed item does not exist". If the module has the Power LED but no Ready LED, then the status will indicate that the "item is unconfigured". If the module has both a Power and Ready LED, than the channel should report either a good status, or a channel specific error (if applicable).
    Regards,
    Aaron

  • How can I disable the wireless status LED (T61)?

When I'm working on my laptop and listening to, for example, online radio the wireless status led under the screen keeps blinking (data is being transmitted). I find this extremely annoying and distracting. Is there any way to disable the LED? (but obviously I would still need to be connected). I'm using windows xp on a thinkpad T61.
    Help much appreciated!

i would use a black permanent marker or something, or a black sticker. This is the easiest and safest way of doing it, it is perfectly reversable.

  • Cisco AIR-AP1242AG-A-K9 Vs AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 Which AP is best

    Dear All,
I am confused between AIR-AP1242AG-A-K9 and AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9, we have WLC 4400 which supports both, which one will be the best.
and what are the adv. adn disadv. of both.
    Thanks,
    Almas...

    Almas,
Depends on what you are looking to do.  Both are good for any standard deployment, i.e. office space, hallways.
The 1242 is a bit more flexible as it has external antenna that can be articulated.  So you can mount it on a wall, or on the ceiling.  The down side, is they will be visible.
The 1131 has built-in antenna, and is designed to be mounted horizontally, on a ceiling for example.
So depending on where you can mount, that will determine the type of AP you need to use

The thing is, I've been applying the instruction:
capwap ap controller ip address 10.4.13.2
'cause I want them to communicate with a remote controller, and the past eight did it fine, but this two didn't.
As for the things I've already tried, I have reset it's parameters to it's initial settings, I've tried to load a new IOS image, I've cleared the flash memory, but nothing works, it keeps communicating with the old controller.
How can I fix this? (I mean, changing or adapting the AP to a lightweight AP)
    Thanks in advance

Its fine to try to apply it from the console...but if you really want to clear the AP, you need to clear the nvram.  so if changing the primary from the GUI that the AP has joined didn't work, then try this:
    debug capwap console cli
    erase /all nvram
    Example:
    Entered the username and password
    debug capwap console cli
    erase /all nvram:
    [confirm]
    undebug all
    reload
    [confirm]
    Thanks,
    Scott
