    I refurbished my macbook air 7 months ago because there was a problem with the steady state drive. Now my battery seems to be dead again. How long does the warranty last? Do I need to pay for a new battery?

    As I wrote Apple will diagnose an Apple product even if it is out of warranty for free. That should be your first step to find out if the problem is the battery or something else.
    Once you have Apple telling you a 7 month old battery is defective (if that turns out to be the case)  then it becomes a game of horse trading. You'll need to speak to the tech and when he tells you there is nothing he can do you will need to speak to the tech manager and when she says most likely there is nothing they can do you go to the store manager, etc.  It is unlikely (though possible) that they will give in easily you need to be firm, polite and let on that you're willing to accept a partial reimbursement.
    So again the first step is to find out what is wrong.
    good luck

  • Problems with the CD/DVD drive on my presario CQ50-108NR

    Hey there.
    I picked up the above listed laptop a short time ago, and I have discovered a problem that I can't seem to solve.
    The CD/DVD drive reads and plays movies well enough, but it will not read CD's; any CD, be it data, music, images, whathaveyou. When I try to access the CD it keeps telling me that I need to insert a disk into the drive.
    Again, it plays DVD movies well enough, not a hitch there. It just won't read CD's.
    I'd love to assume that it's a driver issue (which would be the simplest and cheapest to fix), but I hate assuming anything where computers are concerned.
    Thanks in advance for any and all help.

    Is this a used Notebook?
    Use device manager to uninstall the DVD drive, open DM, expand the DVD drive, then right clcik on the dvd drive and select "uninstall" Keep DM open, now right click on any device and select "scan for hardware changes" Windows will reinstall a clean copy of the driver. Reboot the notebook
    If this does not fix it, the drive is bad.

  • Has anyone else experienced problems with the disc burner/driver software not being found?

    I am trying to burn music onto a disc and it is telling me that the disc burner/driver software has not been found. Has anyone else experienced this with their MacBook Pro?

    SuperDrives wear out - it seems that yours might be on the verge of a mechanical failure. I'd just replace it, buying a new drive from Other World Computing and installing it yourself (because Apple would charge a small fortune).

  • Problem with the iPhone Camera Driver.

    I have the Original iPhone with a 3.1.2 OS and I'm on a Windows Vista Ultimate x64 machine. The "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" is installed and everything works perfectly normal, iTunes recognizes the iPhone and I can transfer files and use all the functions iTunes has. The only problem I have is that when I plug in my iPhone the "iPhone" driver fails to install every time therefor it's not showing on My Computer and I can't get the photos from my phone as the driver I need makes the iPhone look as a 'Digital Still Camera'. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling every Apple related software multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from the Device Manager and scanned for hardware changes but nothing worked. I also tried to change various USB ports and followed other simple instructions given by people on forums but none of these worked. I would really appreciate if anyone can help me solve this problem.
    This is the problem message I'm getting when it fails to install;
    http://www1.speedyshare.com/files/20781820/download/Problem.jpg
    ..and this is the report for that same error;
    http://www3.speedyshare.com/files/20781858/download/Report.jpg
    I think it's important to mention that I plugged in my phone on another machine (Windows XP) and every thing worked good.
    Thanks in advance.

    I have a 3GS and was having many problems with my device driver using Windows 7.
    The solution I found was to uninstall the driver
    Can do this through Device Manager--
    KEY STEP: I also read that having any photos in your CAMERA ROLL which you saved from the internet or email will INTERFERE with proper installation of the driver.
    Save yourself some headaches and before going through these steps make sure you delete all images in your camera roll which were saved from email or the internet. I beat my head against the wall for a good hour because I couldn't believe it would make a difference--it does--I have no idea why.
    THEN:
    Open device manager and navigate to "Portable Devices" and uninstall the driver.
    Unplug the iphone and plug it back in. The driver should install normally and actually be functional. It worked for me anyway.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem with the IDT audio driver.

    Hi
    i got a problem with my audio driver yesterday. while watching a video the driver stopped working and it says that "no audio output installed". i tried reinstalling the idt software from hp website. but it is no help, in the middle of the installation process the computer is showing an error saying that the idt software is not compatible with the hardware detected.
    I need my audio drivers as soon as possible as i have a presentation to do. Please help asap.!!

    Hi
    First uninstall the software from program and features.
    Or, you can uninstall IDT Audio Driver from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
    On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
    Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall a Program.
    Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.
    When you find the program IDT Audio Driver, click it, and then do one of the following:
    Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall.
    Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
    Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove IDT Audio Driver.
    Please try to install this software and see if this fixes your issue. In case this does not work try performing system restore to the date where unit was working fine.

  • Problems with the graphic card driver after update?

    First my brand new Macbooks main board had to be replaced since I couln`t charge the battery. After 3 weeks on service it`s back. Everything is fine until I update the drivers. After the restart the screen displays totaly wrong colors. Take a look below. What could be the problem, and can I solve it?
    http://www.blog.tyrkiskpepper.com/blog_img/screen.jpg
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Some user post that when they reset the pram and pmu and change the resolution screen to its native (biggest) resolution, it will solve the problem.
    Do some more search on discussion search column on your right upper corner.
    Good Luck

  • Problems with the 52.14 driver

    Hi
    My problems is: every time I install the 52.14 or 53.03 drivers, I can´t capture video (I'v used the 2.03 and 2.13 WDM). When I use the 5x.xx + 2.03 combination the video capture window shows a flickering image. When I use the 5x.xx + 2.13 combination the video capture windows shows nothing and a message tell me that the capture device coudn't be opened. When i install the 44.03 drivers (from the MSI CD and the 2.03 WDM everything is fine). I've made clean installs, upgrades, etc.
    System
    ASUS P4S533 Motherboard
    Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz.
    768Mb Kingston PC2700 DDR RAM
    2x Maxtor 80 Gb 7200 RPM ATA 133
    1 x Combo Unit LG-4480b (CD-RW + DVD player)
    1x Optorite DD0203 DVD Multiformat Burner
    SoundBlaster Live 5.1!
    MSI FX5200 VTD-128 Video Card

    If it works with the original drivers and not the newer ones then why are you updating them at all? There wouldn't seem to be an apparent benefit in updating...in other words, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

  • Has anyone else had optical sound output problems since the last Apple software update?

    I have just read an article about this problem and it seems that there is an issue with the last software update from Apple which has caused problems with the optical sound driver.
    My optical output stopped working a couple of weeks back which would probably coincide with the last update that was installed. Still have a red light at the end of the cable but no sound is transmitted.

    here's a thread with a possible solution.

    if clearing the system cache doesn't work, a factory reset should (just back up anything you don't want to lose).

  • How to set the oracle oci8 driver?

    hello all:
    I've set up the oracle thin driver and it works. but when I change to
    oci8.it don't work
    below is config and errors:
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"

    Properties="user=yanji;password=yanji"
    Targets="myserver" URL="jdbc:oracle:oci8:@pg01"/>
    Could not load 'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    If this is a type-4 JDBC driver, it could occur if the JDBC
    driver is not in the system CLASSPATH.
    If this is a type-2 JDBC driver, it may also indicate that
    the Driver native layers(DBMS client lib or driver DLL)
    have not been installed properly on your system
    or in your PATH environment variable.
    This is most likely caused by one of the following:
    1. The native layer SO, SL, or DLL could not be found.
    2. The file permissions on the native layer SO, SL, or DLL
    have not been set properly.
    3. The native layer SO, SL, or DLL exists, but is either

    Hello, Jenny I am glad you found your resolution. I too am having problems isung
    the oracle 0CI8 driver. My connection pool is creating fine, but my server is
    crashing with JVM errors.
    Here are my configurations.
    DBase=Oracle 8.1.7,OS=Win2000, running 6.1 with Portal 4.0
    pool config =
    <JDBCConnectionPool CapacityIncrement="0"
    DriverName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" InitialCapacity="5"
    MaxCapacity="5" Name="ccConPool"
    Properties="jdbc.url=jdbc:oracle:oci8:@servername:1521:orcl;user=XXXXX;password=XXXXXX;dll=ocijdbc8;server=orcl;protocol=oci8;dll=ocijdbc8;protocol=oci8"
    RefreshMinutes="0" Targets="portalServer"
    TestTableName="WIP_TABLE" URL="jdbc:oracle:oci8:@servername"/>
    My classpath sets my classes12.zip file first. My path sets %WEBLOGIC_HOME%\bin\oci817_8
    and %WLCS_ORACLE_HOME%\bin.
    Am I setting the right dll and protocol in my .dll? Where can I find documentation
    on these properties definitions?

    I've got the answer. those all because weblogic.jar. this jar include
    the
    class "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver".
    although I put the classes12.zip into the CLASSPATH.but the weblogic.jar
    in
    front of classes12.zip.so classloader
    load the class from weblogic.jar. so I can use thin driver(weblogic
    implements this function with class,but not for oci8 )
    ..this is really a big pitfall !
    put the classes12.zip in front of weblogic.jar .all perfect!

    Its not CLASS_PATH it should be CLASSPATH.
    when you say oracle\bin and oracle\lib , on what driver is the oracle
    folder?I meant to say 'on what drive' not 'on what driver'
    you have to specify the full path.
    post your startup script here.

    1. Dont copy this file oci8jdbc.dll, to bin folder. Make sure
    you
    place
    <oracle_home>\lib in your PATH before starting the server. Make
    sure
    your
    ORACLE_HOME environment varable is set to <oracle_home> folder.
    eg. set ORACLE_HOME=c:\ora816 before starting the server.
    so you must have done something like
    set ORACLE_HOME=c:\ora816
    set PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\bin;%ORACLE_HOME%\lib;%PATH%
    2. double check if you set your CLASSPATH something like this,
    CLASSPATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip;%CLASSPATH%
    in the server startup script just before starting the server.
    3. start the server the connection pool should work.

    hello All:
    I've edited the StartWeblogic.cmd, set the classes.zip into CLASSPATH,and
    copied the oci8jdbc.dll to the bea\wlserver6.1\bin. errors stillappears!
    my weblogic version is 6.1 and oracle is 8.1.6 .
    why the thin driver is ok but the oci driver can not work?
    I logined in the oracle website and look for the jdbc.but I find
    that
    jdbc
    all provide for jdk1.2 or jdk1.1. because the weblogic6.1 based
    jdk1.3.
    I
    think i can not use those drivers.
    I think my oracle driver is ok,because i installed the jboss and
    bas4.5
    in
    my computer. they all can use oci8 driver properly.and they all
    based
    jdk1.3.
    by the way. I 've tryed added the oracle\bin path inStartWeblogic.cmd,
    nothing changed !
    again below is my config : I want to know whether my config right?
    (the property DLL and Protocal auto added by the weblogic)

    To use oracle oci8 driver:
    You should have classes12.zip in weblogic classpath.
    You should have ocijdbc8.dll in your weblogic path..
    You can download ocijdbc8.dll from oracle website.
