Problem configuring SAP AS server in NWDS 7.1 SP03
Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble in configuring SAP AS in Developer Studio 7.1 SP03.
In SP01 I have no problem, but in SP03 an error shows up, which says that the host and instance number are not available. In SP01 there's a field for the port, but in SP03 theres only fields for host and instance number.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Cheers
Hi Atul,
Thank you for your answer.
I have tried this and a message error comes saying that server is not reachable.
However, if I configure SP01 with the same server, it shows no error and I can see the server is up and
running. Is there a special configuration for SP03? Im I missing something, weather on the server side or
on de Dev Studio side?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Configure SAP for server-side trust
Hi all,
I am installing BusinessObejcts XI integration for SAP Solution. I need configure SAP for server-side trust. I have read BussinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solution Installation Guide. In chapter 6, It introduce how to configure SAP Server-Side trust. But I don't understand how to configure SAP for server-side trust, specially configure SAP Cryptographic. Would you please to give me more detailed explanation?
Please advise,
DuypmHi Duypm,
the SAP server side configuration is part of the Installation Guide Chapter 6. It starts on Page 94.
If you unclear about this and what SNC configuration means for the SAP server make sure you talk to the administrator for the SAP system. You need administrative rights for the SAP system and the system will have to be restarted as outlined in the installation guide

Configuring SAP BI server in Lumira Preferences to support SSL
Hello all ,
We are currently on SAP BI 4.1 SP 5 FP 3 and we have installed the latest version of SAP Lumira .
We have also implimented SSL for secured login to BI launch pad ,CMC -etc .
Is it possible to configure the SAP BI server URL in Lumira preferences to supports https based URL ?
The default URL looks like - http://<server name>:6405/biprws
If possible then please assist me to identify where and what I need to configure . We are currently on Windows environment .
regards,
Sourav RoyHave a look at this, although it talks about Team Server, it will be applicable to the BI system.
Note that without the BI add-on, you will only be able to use the platform for viewing, just file storage.

Port Number in configuration sap enterprise potal in NWDS
Does any body knows, What is the port number that i need to use in the configuration SAP Enterprise Portal in Netweaver developer studio?
Hello All,
I need someone to kindly explain how to select which forms are displayed in the KM Navigation view-NewsExplorer layout. I have gone to the Forms publishing menu in the KM Config (Content Mgt.), and changed the Global Settings from All to None. However, I still find that all the forms are displayed. This is the document I followed:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/8d/2813418366f023e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
I'd appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

Please help: problem configuring a SQL server datasource in Websphere.
I am using Rational Developer 6 and its integrated testing server (websphere v6). When configuring a data source for SQL server, I did the following steps in admin console of the test server:
1. Created a JDBC provider, using WebSphere embedded ConnectJDBC driver for MS SQL Server;
2. Created a datasource under the previously created JDBC provider, filled in the server name, DB name and port number (1433 for SQL server);
3. Created a J2C authentication alias that has the login info of SQL server;
4. Assigned the created J2C alias to both component and container managed authentication alias;
However, when I click "Test Connection", it always gets back to me with an error "java.lang.Exception: java.sql.SQLException: [IBM][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connectDSRA0010E: SQL State = 08001, Error Code = 0.".
My ultimate goal is to configure a SQL server datasource so that I can configure Kodo to use this datasource.
Can some one please help? Thanks in advance.Try this:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21210871
I am yet to test this. I am going to download latest SP for SQL Server 2000 and install it. I hope it will do the magic. -

SAP Content Server configuration CSADMIN username password
Hi all.
I am having problems when I try to configure SAP Content Server 6.40 after installation. When I try to run csadmin to set up the content repository, I constantly get this login prompt. I have tried using the default SAPR3 user and password, but I only get access denied. The SAPR3 user exists on my MaxDB 7.6. I have also tried setting AdminSecurity=0 in the ContentServer.ini file, and the login prompt is still displayed.
Does anyone have any idea on what username and password I should use, so that I can try to complete the Content Server config? Also, if you know of any decent guidelines for the content repository configuration, I'd be happy if you provide me with some documentation..
Thanks!

Configuration of J2EE engine in NWDS 7.1
Hi All,
I need to develop a webdynpro application in NWDS 7.1 and deploy it onto a J2EE engine which is installed on a remote host.
In NWDS 7.0, in Window> Preferences>SAP J2EE Engine,
I could specify the remote Remote Server Host and Remote server Port.
How do I do the same in NWDS 7.1?
I dont see the "SAP J2EE Engine" option in Window-->Preferences ; in NWDS 7.1.
Please help in configuring the J2EE server in NWDS 7.1 so that i can deploy my webdynpro application.
Thanks and Regards,
SunilHi Satish,
I followed the steps you mentioned.
But I got an "Invalid Syntax error" in the Web browser when I deployed and ran the application.
The url when i run an application from NWDS 7.0 in the same server starts with
http://<server_name>:50200/webdynpro/dispatcher/.......
But the url when i run the application from NWDS 7.1 (with the configurations suggested by you) starts with
http://<server_name>:-1/webdynpro/dispatcher/.......
I have followed the steps you suggested.
Do I have to specify the Port number somewhere? or is there any other configuration which I need to do?
Please guide me in this.
Thanks and Regards,
Sunil -

Configuring OS X Server to pass FM Server requests
Hello all.
I am having problems configuring OS X Server (10.3.9) to allow access to FileMaker Server 8 running on a separate machine.
I want to access our work FileMaker Server from home through a standard FM Client connection. FM uses port 5003 to connect. We run our OS X Server behind DSL Router. The router performs NAT and if I configure it to pass 5003 requests off directly to the FM Server (therefore, by-passing OS X server) I can connect without problem. However, FM server is not protected by a firewall.
I believe I have to have our router point 5003 requests to our OS X server machine and then have OS X server pass the request through the firewall and onto the FM server machine. However I am unsure of how to configure the firewall (since 5003 is not a standard service port) and even withe the firewall on, wouldn't I need NAT enabled and configured to handled requests from the router?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Rick
17" Powerbook 1.33 GHz Mac OS X (10.4.7) http://www.aleclia.com Site served on B&W running OS X ServerHi:
Your router is already forwarding external requests for port 5003 to an internal IP address, this indicates – to me – that NAT is your Firewall and is protecting your LAN anyway. NAT at its most basic peforms as its own Firewall.
I should leave things as they are as there does not seem much point in what you are trying to do. You can make it work but it would make your internal network unnecessarily complicated as you would then have to consider turning your Server into a Gateway/Router sharing an internal internet connection when local users already have internet access using your router.
Hope this helps – Tony -
View contents of SAP Content Server
Hi all,
We have successfully installed and configured SAP Content Server - the storage system is database. From a separate test system, we use archivelink to send an image to the content server. As per the logs, the image was successfully sent to the content server. Is there any method we can use to check whether the image is indeed stored on the content server? We use Database Studio to do administration on the MaxDB database of the content server but it does not provide any facility for viewing the contents. Please suggest how can the image or any other data be viewed.
regards.Hi Gagan,
Thanks for your reply. Your suggestion will indeed confirm whether the image is present on the content server or not. However, I want to know whether there's some way we can 'see' the image on the content server. I downloaded another tool called SQL Studio. There you can browse the tables/indexes/synonyms, run queries etc but I'm not able to know which are the relevant tables I need to look into. There should be a table that must be keeping the image or at least a record concerning the image.
Any other suggestion.....

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?
Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working... As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop... Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...
Thanks in advance...Hi Yüksel
Thank you for the reply It helped me to configure but i struck in some place.. Dispatcher is getting stopped... I tried to add 3 different sap servers in sapmmc and tried to start.. Three are getting same errors(Guess same error)
After your suggestion i was able to configure and start SIDadm of host but immediately or after 30sec Dispatcher gets stopped tried to find out some solutions but didnt worked... But i was able to start from there servers manually in linux way startsap, but not in SAPMMC way...
Could you or please help me in solving trace given below...
