Problem connecting HP laptop to Kodak printer

Hi,
I have a new hp pavilion laptop with Windows 8 OS and a Kodak ESP c315 wireless printer.
When i first got the laptop I connected them and could print no problem, however today for some reason they have decided not to talk to one another.
I have ensured they are both connected to the same wireless network by going to the network settings on the printer and on the laptop and have installed the software cd etc, but just cant work out what else I can do.
When i go to the control panel and try to add the printer it says no devices found! I have important university work that i need to print and it's driving me crazy, I've done so much switching off and on again (about as far as my technological knowledge takes me) lol. Please help!

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
    Read up the issue.

I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • Connecting to my new Kodak printer/scanner

I have a new MacBook and I'm pretty sure I have Bluetooth, it's in my system preferences. Anyway, i have a new Kodak printer/copier/scanner and I bought a bluetooth USB and plugged it into the printer and when I go to print it won't detect the printer at all. Is there something I need to do? I installed the printer hardware in my laptop, but I'm not sure what else I need to do to make it recognize it.
    Please help me!!!

    HI Polly
What you need to do is "pair" the printer/scanner with your Macbook and it's easy!
Go to System Preferences/Bluetooth: (You definitely have Bluetooth on a MacBook). Click the blue Bluetooth icon and the Bluetooth preference pane will open. Click the Devices tab. Click: Set Up New Device. The Bluetooth Setup window will open and walk you through the process. If you need further help, just post back. I've paired my cell, my other Mac, and my Windows based laptop successfully so hopefully you won't run into any glitches.
    Good luck...

  • Problem connecting wirelessly with HP 6310 printer

Since our computer automatically updated from Windows 8 to 8.1 a couple of weeks ago, we have not been able to use our HP 6310 printer.  It connects with the computer through a wireless internet router.  Have updated the HP driver to 8.1 to no avail.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hey there @Benjie18 ,
I read your post about how you cannot use your Officejet 6310 printer since upgrading to Windows 8.1. I have a few ideas that come to mind that I am going to suggest and I hope they help!
    1. Run the Print and Scan Doctor, which may find the problem and correct it.
    2. Make sure the printer can make copies.
    3. Try Uninstalling the Printer Software, restarting the PC and reinstall - HP Photosmart and Officejet Full Feature Software and Drivers
Let me know the results. If you run into any issues or errors, let me know!
    Have a great day!

  • Problems connecting X200 laptop to TV

I have an X200 and want to connect it to my tv.  I have purchased and connected a vga on my computer to an HDMI port on the TV with the proper cable.  I have verified the cable is working and that both of my TVs (Samsung and Panasonic which are 2 years and brand new units) are properly set up to receive video from my computer.  But, the video is not transferring from my laptop to the TV.  Pressing the control and F7 button does not solve the problem.  I have updated my laptop drivers.  What am I doing wrong?

  • Problems connecting DeskJet 2542 printer to my laptop computer

I recently bought an HP DeskJet 2542 printer to replace my broken one.
Everything went well on the installation up to the point where I attempt to connect my printer to my laptop, which has been frustratenly unsuccessful.
I have tried both wirelessly through the network and wired through a USB connection, but neither work.
Upon further investigation, I find that the 2540 series software driver for the connection between PC and printer isn't even installing, despite several attempts.
I have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled the entire printer software, but even when it says that the installation is completed, it still fails to connect the printer to my computer.
Furthermore....I recently discovered that my laptop printer connection runs through Windows' "WSD Print Device", which has been prompting me via Windows Update for a software update....but everytime I run it, it fails due to a "300073EB" error.
My laptop is an Dell Inspiron N5040 running Windows 7 - 64 bit. Only changes I have made is to double the RAM memory from 4 GB to 8 GB by adding an additional memory chip.
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I simply return the printer back.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Well....I am happy to report that I have finally got my printer installed correctly, and it is working properly.
It turns out that the problem was a corrupted register key in the Registry folders where my printer drivers are stored was blocking the installation. I had to delete all the register keys in the folder where they were stored, then rename the folder in my spool folder where the relevant driver files were stored to "deactivate" it.
For those interested: here are the relevant steps I took:
    1) Obvously, back up your registry first just in case.
    2) Temporarily disable the Print Spooler service through the Services tool in Adminstrative Tools (click on the "Stop" button after right-clicking on the Print Spooler listing, then clicking "Properties".)
     3) Open Registry Editor (by typing "regedit" on  your Start searchbar), then right-clicking on "regedit.exe" to log in as Administrator.
    4) Using the left side nested folder directory, scroll down to this folder in the Registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3
(For 32-bit Win 7 machines, replace "Windows x64" with "Windows NT x86".)
Look for the subfolder underneath where the corrupted driver is located (in my case, "HP Deskjet 2540 series") and right-click and delete it. (Note: you could also do the same to all the other driver folders listed there, but you would still have to reinstall the services after you reboot. That's why you need that backup.)
    5) Next, get out of the Registry Editor and, using Windows Explorer: locate this folder in your root (C:\) directory:
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3
(This assumes you're using Win 7-64 bit; for 32 bit, replace "x64" with "W32X86".)
Rename the folder marked as "3" to "3.old".
    6) Now, go back and restart the Print Spooler by using the same procedure as 1), except clicking on the "Start" button. (If your Print Spooler is set on "Automatic", though, you could skip that process, since rebooting will restart it automatically.)
    7) Finally, reboot, and reinstall your printer software either using the attached CD or directly from the HP website.
It may simply be that an earlier install of a previous printer corrupted the keys enough that it was blocking the installation.
Justice and resolution may grind slow, but with a little investigation, it ultimately does grind. Thanks for your help....and you may consider this to be "SOLVED".

  • Hp officejet 4500 wireless won't print from laptop. It is connected to laptop. It prints from desktop

We have a HP Officejet 4500 wireless printer which was first installed in 2011 without any problems. We also utilize a HP LaserJet P1006 printer (not wireless) with our network. I cannot print from my laptop to either printer, but hubby's desktop has no problem. Both printers stopped working for my laptop at the same time. Everything worked perfectly until a few weeks ago when I could no longer print directly from my Dell Inspiron laptop. When I check on the connectivity of both printers to my laptop, the information tells me the printers are connected to my laptop.
My husband has a Dell desktop (our main computer).
I have tried everything I know to fix this problem, including shutting down the desktop, my laptop, the router, and the printers (including disconnecting the printers from the desktop with the cords that connect to the printers). I have followed all instructions on how to restart the entire system...plug the router in, plug in the printers & turn them on, and lastly restart both computers.
I am not what one would call "computer savvy"; as a matter of fact, I am quite computer-challenged. If any of you can tell me in extremely-easy-to-understand language what to do, I would appreciate your help.

  • I have problems connecting a Kodak hero to Mac OS X 10.7.2 5.1 to Mac?

I am having problems connecting our Kodak hero 5.1 to Mac OS X 10.7.2 5.1

I've struggled with this for a few days now but it's finally working.
I think the final solution was to download all of the latest Kodak HomeCenter and printer drivers. Then uninstall the Kodak software before re-installing it.
The important point seemed to be when it came to adding the printer through Print & Fax in System Preferences. This window was opened automatically by the Kodak installer, but what it didn't say was to click on the Default icon at the top of the Print & Fax window. My wireless Hero 5.1 was showing up there as a Bonjour printer (??) and now works fine. This had not been the case on previous install attempts.
I also discovered through this troubleshooting that you can bypass the Kodak software by entering the printer's IP address in the URL bit of a browser and it takes you straight into the Printer Management, including the ability to set up Google Cloudprint and the Kodak email printing.
Other thing I did was to set the printer up with a static IP address, but I think that relates more to my WiFi router as I've also needed to do that for all our Apple devices.
    Hope this is of use.

  • How can I print something from my laptop to a printer? (the printer is connected by USB to a Mac Mini, if that is of any help)

I have a laptop that used to be able to print because it was connected to my old iMac, which was connected (byUSB) to the printer.  The iMac broke however, so now I don't know how to re-do what I did with the iMac. How can I connect this laptop so that I can just press "Print" on it and as long as the Mac Mini was on, it would print out without having to press "print" on the Mac Mini?
Thanks if you have the time to answer,

Are your laptop and mini connected to a home network. If so, you can go into the Settings menu on the mini and, under Sharing, check Printer Sharing. You may also have to go into the Printer menu and turn on sharing for the specific printer.
