Problem converting links from Word 02 to Acrobat 7

Hello All,
I have this problem that is driving me nuts. I am working with Word 2002 and Acrobat 7 Pro.
When I create internal links within the word document (terms linked to the glossary) and PDF using the PDF toolbar (change settings to include bookmarks and links, no security). The PDF only converts some of the links, and it is never consistent. My co-worker has the same problem, but her links that don't come in vary from mine (word 2003 acrobat 7).
This doesn't happen to all documents with links, the website links work perfectly.
Any ideas?

I created the links in word, pressed the PDF Maker ("Adobe PDF" Button on toolbar), changed conversion settings: Standard, (all check but "Attach source file to PDF"), Security None, Word Tab (all checked but "Convert displayed comments to notes in the PDF"), Bookmarks were selected, clicked OK, clicked "Convert to PDF."
If you look at my original post, I attached screenshots of the PDF Maker dialog box.

Problems converting pdf to Word in Acrobat X Standard

I am not able to convert pdf docs into Word using acrobat x. I have tried running OCR before attempting the converstion but that does not help. It goes all the way through allowing me to save the document as a docx but then I get the message "Save As failed to process the document. No file was created". Any ideas?

You have both Adobe Reader (which offers one kind of conversion, paid for one way), and Adobe Acrobat Pro (which offers another kind of conversion, paid another way). Be sure you understand that these are two different bits of software, and that you can and must choose which one to use.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble converting files. Are you receiving the conversion error regardless of the file that you try to convert? Does the error occur whether you use the web interface, or convert via Reader? And an odd question: how many files do you have stored in your Acrobat.com account? We have seen reports of this error when there are a large number of files stored in the root folder of your Acrobat.com account.

Can you link from Word to a specific page in PDF without a webserver?

I am trying to add a link within Word that opens a specific PDF file and goes to a particular page within the PDF. Is there a way to do this without a webserver?

I have a similar problem I would like to solve. I am also running Word 2003, Windows XP and Acrobat Professional 7.0.
I can create a hyperlink in a word document to open a separate PDF file.
I can then use PDF Maker to convert the word document to PDF.
No problem.
When I click on the new link in the PDF document it opens the separate file in the same window and the original PDF file is closed.
I do not want the original file to close.
When I set up a new link from within Acrobat then I get the option to "Open in new window". This link works the way that I want.
As there are multiple hyperlinks in the word document, I will need to recreate new links everytime I modify the Word document. This is very time consuming
Question - how do I get the automatically created link to open in a new window?

Creating PDFs from Word using Acrobat 9

I am trying to create a PDF using the 'convert to acrobat PDF' button from Word 2003. My PDF settings are set to embed the fonts. The resulting PDF has gaps in the text (bits where there is no text and should be). I have also tried going to File, Print and select PDF printer and the same problem occurs. Each time I try different bits of text are missing.
If I untick embed all fonts there is no problem.
I was using Acrobat CS and have used Acrobat CS3 and not had this problem.
Any help appreciated.

If you use ctrl-D>fonts, are all the fonts embedded. If not, are any of them non-standard fonts. The problem is typical of issues with fonts that are not embedded, sometimes due to license restrictions.

Problem converting MSWord into PDF with Acrobat 8.1

I have a problem very similar to this. I also have a new laptop with WINDOWS Vista professional, MS Office 2007, and Acrobat Standard 8.1.
The 'Create PDF' button in MSWord (and MSExcel, Powerpoint etc) does not work even for the simplest of Word file without any speacial character. Also if I try to convert the file from inside Adobe Acrobat using "Create PDF/From File...", I get the following message: "An unexpected error occurred. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF." The Acrobat printer is working fine.
Any Remedy?

Transfer links from Word to PDF

I want to create a PDF file from a Word document. I click "Adobe PDF" on the word toolbar and the PDF file is created, but the hyperlinks that I had in the Word document don't transfer over to the PDF. I am using Word 2003, Acrobat X Standard and Windows 7 Home Premium. How can I get the links to carry over?

I suspect your version of Office is no longer supported.

Problems converting Pages to Word.doc

I am new to Macs and Pages so need some help. I have to convert files to Word as some of the companies i work for need word docs. the problem i have found is some characters (in tables etc) and bullet points disappear, leaving an indent in word, but not the bullet point mark. This is very frustrating and have had to resort to opening text doc or pc office application and changing it all. what am i doing wrong?

Welcome to the forum.
Word allows you to use dingbats from various standard Windows fonts, such as WingDings, as bullets.
Pages does as well, but it may be that the particular font used in the Word document is not on your Mac or in a different format. OSX favors .otf files, many Windows users are still using the old non-Unicode .ttf files.
When you open a file it may tell you that the font is missing and you may be given opportunity to open the font or replace it with another.

Can't print from Word or Acrobat

OK, I had this problem maybe two years ago and I did fix it. The problem is back and I don't remember how I fixed it.
I have an HP printer (new printer since the last time I had this problem so its not necessarily the printer) - MS Word and Acrobat Adobe will not allow me to print.
I can print Appleworks and can convert Word to pdf and print it with Preview not Acrobat.
Did I reinstall the printer program? or Word or Acrobat?

There is absolutely no relationship between what InDesign installs (and uses) and the operation of Microsoft Word and Acrobat. InDesign does not install any system components or share any system components with Word and Acrobat.
Look elsewhere for causes and solutions. In the case of Acrobat, if you have specific issues with printing with specific types of PDF files and/or devices, post your questions on the appropriate Acrobat forum (“Printing and Prepress”).

Enable for Commenting and Create Links from URL (JS, Acrobat Pro)

I need to change a PDF's settings to Enable for Commenting and Annotation and then Create Links from the document's URLs. I can do it manually, but I don't see where these properties can be adjusted with Javascript.

Converting documents from word

Today, for the first time, when I attempted to convert a word document, I got this error message: "missing PDF maker files: Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?: When I clicked on yes, it downloaded for 8 to 10 minutes, but nothing changed. I am new to this community and am not terribly adept on computers. Can anyone help me?

At first it sounded like it is a feature that had been working and just quit. However, if you have upgraded WORD, it is likely that your Acrobat is no longer compatible. You did not indicate the verions of WORD or Acrobat as well as the version of Windows, so it is hard to tell what the problem may be. Some of the WORD updates have also been known to turn off the PDF Maker macro (add in) in WORD. In the latter case, you simply need to activate it.

Problem copying text from word to dreamweaver

Howdy..
had a problem copying text from a word doc (07) to
dreamweaver, for some strange reason it missed a complete section
in the middle, 2 paragraphs gone... no errors... no blank spaces,
just would not copy and paste the section, everything b4 and after
was fine, the only way to correct this was to copy to
textpad/notepad first and then recopy and paste..
anybody have any ideas ?

nope, there didnt seem to be any special formatting in the
word doc, just a straight forward press release, two of them
actually and they both had sections that didn't copy and paste.
what was very strange was it was sections in the middle of
the docs, and wasnt the same in both, was 2 different areas in
each, just when u copy'd and pasted it gave nothing..
and ive never seen anything like it b4,
ive just upgraded to CS4 a few weeks back and this is the
first time ive noticed it, ill keep my eye out and see if its
somethng to do with the way word is formatting stuff..

Problem with printing from word 97

hi!!
I have HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One installed. Unfortunately my fother still uses MS Word 97 because he knows it best. Any try to print a document from Word 97 results in crash of the programm without any error message. It just closes when he tries to choose HP C5280 in the print dialogue. Other office programms don't have this problem. I already updated drivers and software to the newest version. Is there an update for compatibility with MS Office 97 or my father have to learn to use another office programm??

Try taking all of the spaces out of the printer name. There also seems to be a problem if you switch from normal print to draft in some models. I think the problem is with word 97. Still a great program.

Problem converting PDFs to Word or Excel, does anyone know why?

I have been converting PDFs to Word or Excel for several years but lately every time I try an error message comes up saying "an error occurred while trying to AdobeExport PDF online", does anyone know why?

Na transformação de um arquivo editado em PDF para transformação em Excxel, noto que essa transformação não esta sendo feita para uma planilha do Excel (13). exemplo. Na planilha em PDF o valor é de R$ 25,00. Na transformação para o Excell 13, Esta constando 2.500. Quando abre essa planilha em PDF para fins de Impressão, ela é toda normal para uma planilha de Excell. Mas, quando faço a transformação de PDF para o Excel, distorce toas as colunas, apresentando um titulo do PDF abrangendo mais colunas.
