Problem creating Techincal system as my R/3 system on different LAN

Hello friends
Our r/3 system with host name [ps0784] is on different LAN hence accessible only by IP or if we give its complete name like ps0784.persistent.co.in
But here the problem is, when we try to create a Technical system in SLD for ps0784 using IP or complete domain name . then while adding Application Server List we have to give Host name, when we trying giving IP or say complete domain name and then say ADD, it adds only the first part and ignores the rest which come after dot (.)
I mean for IP : 10.88.152.88 , it takes only 10
And for domain name ps0784.persistent.co.in , it takes only ps0784
So we are not able to create a technical system
How do we overcome this

Problems creating source system

I am trying to create a source system in BI 7.0. I created the logical system for ECC 6.0 and assigned the logical system to the client. I then tried creating the source system. The source system gets created but not in the SAP folder where I intended it to be but in the BI folder. I am able to replicate data sources normally but I am unable to force it into the SAP folder no matter what I tried. I suspect there might be errors in creating the logical system or assigning them. If anyone has come across this issue or if you have information of any notes, please respond. Answers will be rewarded with points.

Hi,
How are you expecting under BI folder. SAP is the correct folder for it. Is it your ECC system is a SAP(R/3) system or not. If we connect any other BIW system to your BIW system, then it will come under BI folder. But your R/3 systems comes under SAP only.

Problem creating transactional iview for BW system

Hi gurus
We are facing one problem creating a transactional iview for a BW 3.5 system . We wanto to call transaction SU01 in our BW system using an iview. When we use SAP for html, we have all the menu on the iview , I mean the same result as if we use smen, not SU01.
And if we use SAP GUI , we are always having the same GUI Error

Thanks Bala for your quick reply. I´ve tried with function module RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET and all the settings were OK. Still the same result.
Adding more information. We have another WAS 6.40 server with different Module(we have RM and XRPM , not BW) and we are having the same problems. I am wondering if its related with some special config or activation
Maybe I´ve forgot some service activation in SICF? I´m able to reach the SMEN, but not the SU01
or I´m missing some config elsewhere?

Problem while creating business system...?

Hi All
My Scenario is RFC - To - File. For this i am trying to creating a business system with web as ABAP. I have specified all the parameters but when i click on next i am getting "The selected client has an associated logical system name that is already used for another business system. Select a different client" message.
Now how to create an another business system as web as abap with same server , client , installation number and all.... Could you please tell me...
I dont want to use the existing business system

The selected client has an associated logical system name that is already used for another business system. Select a different client" message. if u want to create another business system...give dirretent Logical System name

Ok no difference, I don't get any drive errors that seem significant or numerous, sometimes I don't get any at all, the disk always verifies and I haven't had to run a repair on it yet. I've gotton one or two drive errors, I'll save them next time I run either DU or DW.... however with permissions, there are a lot and they all fix (except: see below: Last 3: ACL errors are always there) but as I keep having to do force quits and system re boots they keep coming back; posted them below IDK if this will help you to help me, LOL... but figured it couldn't hurt, the ones below are re-occuring I know i've seen them b4. . . Don't know if this makes a difference but on initial install I had several font conflicts w/system fonts, I renamed suitcases and that error message hasn't come back . . . but do you think this could be a font issue . . . I have like 12,000 fonts of which a couple hundred are ususally always active . . . IDK it doesn't make sense to me it would be, but you never know... just a shot in the dark
I also saved my last PS crash report and it was like 100 Pages long, I've never seen one that long, I make a pdf of it and post link to my idisk, if its something that you can interpet.

Problem While Creating New system

Hi.
i have downloaded sap netweaver 7.01(trail version) from SCN.
installation was successful.
Frontend GUI was installed in System Drive(C Drive)
and Netweaver was installed in D Drive
i have started the application server.
in the logon pad what are the details i need to enter while creating new systems in logon pad.
i followed help and typed the same info as in the f1 help.
in connection tab:
connection type: Custom Application Server
System connection parameters:
Description: SAP
Application Server : u9cmain (as in f1 help)
System Number: 00(as in f1 help)
System ID: u9c(as in f1 help)
SAProuter Sring: (empty)(as in f1 help)
after giving this details. when i logged in it shows this "hostname u9cmain unknown, check your application server name"
how can i rectify this error. where can i check my application server name...
help me out plz.

You can't use the same host name and SIDs as per help under F1
Configure as below:
Description: SAP (You can use anything)
Application Server : (your computer name or IP address)
System Number: (has to be 2 digit, and which numbers you have assiged while installation)

During the System Object Creating in System Landscape, there is any entry as Message Server Host: CRM MS HOST
and Message Server Port : sapmsSID and add this entry in etc/services --> bottom samsSID 36NN/tcp where NN is instance number.

Can you tell us the exact settings you made on your system entry? All we know from what you have posted is that there is a connection error - without more details on the error (from the defaultrace.trc log, perhaps) or details on your system settings, it's impossible to help you.

I have a problem while creating Source System to a Solman syatem configured with BW content. I have configured few some source systems already in the same Solman System.The system shows the following error, previous to this i get the message a "generating connection to the source system"

Thanks for your response. i am working on XI 7.0 and when i go to SLD-> Adminitsrtion-> SLD Data Supplier. There i tried to add SLD CLient.
It is asking me for :
-URL of target SLD system, e.g. http://host:port/
-User
-Password.
What should i give here. WHat will be port for R/3 system to which i want to connect.
Just to add: I have already created Technical system for R/3(CLient 600). I added this through SLD only. But now it is giving error for Technical SYstem for same R/3(Clinet 812).
