Problem deleting email after 2.01 update

Before updating to 2.01 yesterday I could hit the trash can on my iphone and the email would be deleted, but since the upgrade (done from itunes site) I can no longer delete email using iphone? Is this a bug with the new software?

I doubt that it's a bug because it works for me, and I haven't seen any other reports in the forums. First try a reset, then a restore.

Z10 Deletes Emails After 10.2 Update

I have 4 different email accts. on my Z10.
My POP email acct will lose emails after 3-4 hrs after showing up on device, but I can retreive them from my computer.
This doesnt happen to my gmail, outlook or yahoo emails, just my POP acct.
Have removed acct and reinstalled it, removed battery, sim and media card for 1/2 hr. Still have same problems.
Never had this problem untill I updated to the 10.2 update.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem with my Outlook account after upgrading to OS 10.2..1.2102. Email shows up in my Z10. After a while it disappeared. When I logged on to Outlook, I couldn't retrieve the emails. I've been losing a lot of emails.
I had tried the follwoing but no success so far:
- Delete email account in Z10 and recreate
- Setup email id with email SYNC Timeframe to 'manual'
- Change my Outlook accounting setting ot 'leave a copy of messages on the server'
If I don't have Outlook on at the same time with Z10 on, Z10 will delete my email messages from both the Z10 hub and mail server after some time.
Please help! What do I need to do?

Problem deleting email messages since be update

Need some help with the following?
After the new update on my wife’s phone some email messages have appeared, NO SENDER. These messages cannot be pulled up, nor can they be deleted.
Can someone tell me how to get these off her phone; I have tried all I know.

Going out on a limb here and assuming you deleted the messages in the actual mail program? (i.e. Gmail or Yahoo?)

I don't really understand your comment about "sing of tubes in RED which is wired". But if you are referring to the display of iTunes and the USB port that is an indication that you must restore your iPhone by connecting it to your computer via USB and then using iTunes on the computer to restore it.

Try settings -- messages -- send & recieve and see if your email and phone number are in there and if there is only a check mark next to your email address. If so just check off your phone number and try that.

Problems with sms after 2.1 update

I have an original iphone, and after the recent update, I have had some problems with my text messages.
1. A friend who has sprint is unable to delete a text that I sent to her. She has had no other similar issues from anyone else.
2. Occasionally, the text entry box, disappears and I am unable to type anything.
3. Occasionally I am unable to scroll down to the most recent message in a conversation.
4. The text entry box has also moved up to the top of the screen.
Since the update, texts are not as sluggish, which is great, but these other issues are bothersome as well. Anyone with similar problems?

I don't recall reading anything similar to this, however if you are having problems with your phone, the standard troubleshooting procedures are to turn phone off/back on. If that doesn't correct it, then reboot the phone, hold home key and sleep/wake button together until you see the Apple logo, past the slide to turn off screen. If that doesn't work, then restore, first from a backup, then if necessary as a new phone.
I don't see how someone not being able to delete your text could have anything to do with your phone. That would have to be on their end. I had an origianl phone that I updated to 2.1 and did not have any issues whatsoever. See if any of these help.

Is it a Gmail account ? If it is then if you currently see an archive, instead of delete, button, then you should be able to get the delete option by disabling archiving via Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Gmail Account > Archive Messages (from http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=86614 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4207)

Mail sync with gmail problems - deleted emails keep re appearing

Learned all,
Upgraded to Mavericks and my main (work) email client is gmail forward to my mac. I simply can't delete emails from my inbox, they re appear after every sync. If I delete them on my phone they re appear after a sync. They remain in the google mail/gmail inbox, as accessed in a browser, marked deleted but still sitting in my inbox. I haven't noticed this before but then I haven't really looked.
This is bizarre, and fundamental. I have read the TidBITS article and cringe at the thought of having all my emails load back up to my mac. Also cringe at all the other accounts of issues that this resolution doesn't fix. My temporary work around - disable my gmail work email account on my mac, forward all emails from gmail to my icloud mail account/client. The biggest problem, and a show stopper, is that I can't send emails via icloud from my work email address. I assume that you can't add an alias with a different domain name? Anyway I had 3 and have to wait 7 days after deleting one before I can add another. 7 days??
Any wisdom or learnings from out there? Any advise appreciated, thanks.

These are all IMAP. I see trash on the server and on MAIL. deletine Trash used to work from MAIL, but in last 4 months, if I want something to take effect, I work from the web mail of go daddy and MAIL gets the message.
So you suggest I go to Gmail and set up accounts ( I assume they will walk me through ) (starting from my current gmail acct that my android uses-- or start from scratch?) to receive email addressed to my current email addresses? Then by not transfering out of goDaddy, I won't lose lots of email and mail files, folders in the transition?
There is a discussion on this topic of GoDaddy delays, from 2010 and 2011. So I may not be alone with the problem now.

Since installing IOS7.1 I have not been able to send any email messages through any of my email accounts from I pad 2 or I phone 4S.. I can still receive emails ok. Has anyone had same problem?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

LG Ally will not receive email after 2.2 update

Does anyone know if they have the email problem fixed with the LG Ally after the 2.2 update? They told me it was a technical issue with the update and Embarqmail and that they would have to find a fix for it. So in the meantime they have sent me a new phone and told me not to update it to 2.2 until they have a fix for the Embarqmail problem. I would really like to upgrade to 2.2 so that I can start using some of the apps and games that I won't run on 2.1.

I would be surprised that the v2.3 update has done this. None of my Canon inkjets are showing the same symptom after running the update, although I don't have any machine as old as your i860. Personally I think that your print head could be the cause and the update timing is a coincidence. With a faulty print head, you would get no output even then though your supply levels still show the black ink as full.
I suggest you try a nozzle test. If you open Print & Fax, select the i860 and then click Options & Supplies, you should see a Utility tab. Select this and click Open Printer Utility. Then select the i860 and press the Maintenance button. Change the menu to Test Print and then select Nozzle Check. This will print a page and show you if all the inks are working. I would expect the black not to appear on this printed sheet. If this is so, you can then change the menu to Cleaning and click the Cleaning button. Do another nozzle test. If the black still does not print, then try doing Deep Cleaning.

Problems I faced after a new update on my iPad. My previous firmware was version 5.1.1 then I have updated it to 6.1.1.

The new update on my iPad won't allow me to edit my calendar events and activities manually through my device. How can I edit my events and activities?

There was only 'details' that appeared when it should've been 'edit'. Suddenly when I checked it again, the problem was solved after I logged in to my apple ID on calendars but all my previous events was gone after my device synced with my email. Which one would be a better option to choose as my default calendar? Google mail or iCloud? For your opinion.

Problems with 3GS after latest Itunes update

After installing the update my phone just has the usb port and itunes logo on screen.
Ive:
-Restarted my pc a few times
-Re-Installed I tunes
-Re-booted the iphone several times
-Closed any anti-virus things running
I've searched on several topics across google and non have solved my problem so far, I'll send the person who can solve this a metal pint of thank you.

How can I set TB to auto delete emails after a certain period of time?

I have two email accounts set up in TB.. I am using TB 24.5.0, and one of the email accounts is a Gmail account, and the other is a Microsoft Exchange account with a domain I own running through Office 365. I suppose technically TB looks at that account like an IMAP, although it is not an IMAP per se.
In any event, I am coming to TB new from using Outlook 2010 and 2013. I would like to figure out a way to create rules for each of the email accounts that would automatically delete emails from my inbox after they are a certain age. I would also like to determine how I can establish a retention policy for emails I know I want to keep beyond their automatic purge time frame.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

This only works with IMAP accounts.
Tools (Alt-T) - Account Settings<br>
Select your account - Synchronization and Storage
Make sure to move any messages you want to keep to the Local Folders account prior to making changes. Local Folders should be set to keep messages forever.<br>
Note, this is a manual step.
