Problem deleting music on iOS 7

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but i can't seem to find any information to help me.
A while back I bought some music from the store which I don't want anymore and I had as a matter of fact deleted it from the iPhone, then when I updated to iOS7 it appeared again and I know that to delete songs you swipe left and touch delete, but on those songs it doesn't give me the delete option. I already unselected the option to automatically download the cloud and they're still there, I just want them off my phone, can someone please help me?

Problem deleting music track

Hi there I am having a problem deleting a song in a slide show I am putting together in FCP. Everytime I select it and try to delete it removes the pictures and the music. What I am doing wrong?

You might be trying to delete the song when it is on the "Primary Storyline". The Primary Storyline is the one that has the darker gray background strip from left to right on your timeline. If you added your song first to your project, you probably added it to the Primary Storyline. Then the pictures and other things you put over or under your song in the timeline were "connected clips" attached to that primary storyline. When you delete the stuff on the primary storyline, the connected things get deleted along with it.
One way around this is to press the Control key while clicking once on your song. From the resulting menu that comes up select "Replace with Gap". The clip you selected should be deleted while everything that had been connected to it remains. Hope this helps.

Problem deleting music ID tags on 5800 Xpress

I think that the first few times I put music on my 5800 XP I used the drag and drop method from my PC's media player - this worked fine in as much as the tracks displayed and played fine. However, when deleting music from my phone, I am still left with the tracks ID tags with album/artist/genre info etc. This is a real P in the A as the tracks are obviously not there anymore!
Any suggestions??
Also I finally got my butt into gear some months ago and installed the Ovi Suite on my laptop. I recently did an update and now the damn thing can't read ANY of the tracks on my phone :-/
Again, any suggestions?

Regarding the ovi player it is full of problems as i had numerous problems with it...
Btw,i am also concern regarding the 1st problem as i am having the same stuff...

Can't delete music from iOS 8 devices

I have iphone 6 iOS 8 with iTunes match enabled. In iOS 7 I would delete my music (to clear up space) by going to settings -> usage -> music. However, I am not seeing the music app in the usage area any more. Is there any other way to mass delete my music?

IOS 8 Glich. Turn off Show all Music (from cloud) Delete music once through settings general usage manage storage (not icloud). Some songs may remain that can't be deleted by swiping. Create playlist with all remaining songs. Turn back on show all music. View playlist and download all songs from cloud. When done turn back off show all music. Go back to settings general usage manage storage(not icloud) and delete all music again. This worked for me and my phone was now finally empty of music. Turned back on show all music and download just what i want.

Yesterday, I upgraded to the new iOS 7! Yay! It's really cool, and I do like it, though I'm having problems with my music app.. There's a few albums I don't want on my phone, and it won't allow me to delete them. I try sliding to the right, and nothing happens.. There's no edit button either.. I am having the same problem, I sync by iTunes by the USB port and only want one genre on my iPhone. Since iOS7 it is syncing my entire library. I have it set to sync selected items (only 1 genre selected)... entire library still on iPhone. Selected to remove everything from my iPhone...all still there. Set it for only selected artists...all still there. Can't seem to get only some or none of the library, it only wants to sync it all. Any suggestions?

Deleting music on iOS 7 with a non-synced iPad

I have the following setup:
1) iPad 2 running iOS 7
2) iMac running OS X Mavericks
My problem: I have lots of music stored on my iPad taking up a lot of space that I want to delete, as I now use iTunes Match. The difficulty I face is that if I want to delete the music albums from my iPad, I cannot but instead have to go through every single track - a task that would take a VERY long time.
My next thought was to connect my iPad to iTunes on my iMac and delete the music on my iPad from there. The problem is that my iTunes library corrupted a while ago and I had to rebuild from scratch, so this current iPad is not synced to this iTunes library. If I then choose the option under Devices -> iPad -> Music, select 'Sync Music' and choose no music listings, I'm told that this will replace the entire contents of my iPad. All I want to do is delete the music; if I delete ALL the content, then there are many files on my iPad that I need to keep on there in other applications, from Pages to iAnnotate to Notes, etc. Again, it would take me a LONG time to move all this content off my device.
Any suggestions on a good solution here?

Thanks for the question. With the introduction of iOS 7 we introduced a new "Show All Music" feature. Utilizing this feature, you can view all of your past iTunes Store purchases right from your Music application. These songs are not locally stored on your device, but are available for re-download from iTunes in the Cloud.
If you wish to turn off this feature, you can do so from your Settings application:
Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.

Problems with Music in iOS 8.3

Since updating to iOS 8.3 on my iphone 5s, when I close the Music App., the next time I go in I'm back at the start (i.e. I can see all albums, artists etc.) - before when I closed the App. & went back in it took me to where I was (e.g. the track I was listening too) when I closed the App.
Is there any way to stop this?, as its a pain being mid-way through an album, closing the app. & then having to go through again - makes shuffle almost useless unless you can hear the whole album in one go & as for shuffling an artist...

I Have a similar problem. It seems the 'now playing' featuring has disappeared on the screen and when I go back to playing music on my phone it takes me back to the artist page and does not allow me to continue where I left off.

it tells me my memory is full, but the music on my phone is not listed on my pc??

If you want to delete songs from iTunes and keep them on the iPod you need to change the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos". The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different, you can get details here:

One major word of caution. If you delete songs or videos from your computer and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up anything you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD: How to back up your media in iTunes
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod

I don't know why it stopped working but it happened a month or two ago but the option on this phone that's usually all the way to the left when you select your device but now its not and I don't know what caused it. ive already tried troubleshooting my problem but have found no help.

IOS 8.3 unable to delete music via usage

The past few versions of iOS have all had certain bits in them to help get iTunes match a bit better. This last time I noticed features go missing. We all used to be able to delete music that was downloaded on our phones via general settings and the usage menu. Now apparently if you merely play a song it is cached to your phone and takes up space but is not actually loaded as a download on the phone. This leads us to our problem. I have 5 gigs of music on my phone now but since my phone doesnt actually know it's downloaded on there I can't delete it. Apple please fix this. Make the cached files show in usage again as the downloads did before. If it takes up space you should show it to me in usage... I shouldn't have to fight with my phone to make it work right.

I'Ve deselected "show all songs" but 2 songs remain.
YOu can delete other albums by sliding it to the left, but not this.

Cannot delete music IOS 7

I have been struggling with removing music and some video content that stubbornly remains on my I-phone. I am not even sure where it came from but it is mixed in with my purchased content (that I do want). I have isolated it by syncing my I-phone and selecting "Manualy Manage Music and Videos", and then un-checking the "Sync Music" and "Sync Videos" option. That removed all the items that can be 'seen' by I-tunes, but I am still left with tons of garbage music on my phone. With the old OS you could swipe the song in list view and then select Delete. With IOS 7 that option no longer exists. How do I remove this content from my phone?

Find the song you want to delete and swipe your finger across it from right to left then tap delete.
You can only delete by song, not by artist or album.
To delete all your music at once go to:
Settings > General > Usage > Music > Edit (top right), tap then delete.

You can either sync the iPhone and iPad to a computer that has your music on it and make sure the U2 album is not on the computer. Or you can delete all of the music from both devices (settings > general > usage > manage storage > music. Then redownload your music from your purchase history on the iTunes store
