Problem deploying Office 2010 via SCCM 2007

Hello,
I have a problem with deploying Office 2010 to Workstations.
I did exactly as instructed settings: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff404178(v=office.14).aspx
When you release it manually (I tested it) everything went fine but when I let you install via SCCM 2007 workstation, just run setup.exe and processes stuck there and nothing happens.I have no idea why setup.exe. What is wrong any ideas?
(It does not matter who's office: 013,010,07)
Thanks

Are you using any silent key like setup.exe/s S  or setup/quite etc.. ??

No, should i? Microsoft does not say anything like that...  Name field,
which in this example is named Office 2010 silent installation.
In the Command line field,
in this example type setup.exe.
Of course I'll try but I do not suppose this helped ...

  • Running a Repair for Office 2010 via SCCM 2012

    Hello,
We have come into a bit of an issue. We're attempting to deploy & install Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010, however it fails, after some research it looks like it works if we run a repair on Microsoft Office.
Is there anyway we can do this via SCCM? because we need to run a repair on 5000 machines.
    Any ideas?
    Jay

Take a look at the following.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/75d50085-28b4-400b-97d4-77203c173352/repairremove-office-2010-silently
Only caveat is it states 'Make sure that no Office applications are running when you try to repair/remove Office 2010.'  Not sure how you would control that in the real world.
    Cheers

  • Deploy Office 2010 gpo/oct activation

I am trying to deploy Office 2010 Standard through  group policy startup computer script. A batchfile runs which starts the setup off Office and a msp file. First office 2003 gets deinstalled and Office 2010 installed. This all go fine but the activation
fails. When i start a Office program the program wants to activate.
Reading on the Internet about this problem comes with a lot of solutions which do not work. Solutions like AUTO_ACTIVATE and ospp /act in the oct configuration already tried without luck.
We use a proxy server in our orginisation but the proxy server is set in Internet Explorer. The difference is that the installation runs as a system user when set as computer startup script policy. Maybe that is the issue that the system user cannot reach
    the internet....
Off course when i login as the user and start for example excel then he cannot activate because of the user rights. A prompt appears of UAC that a username and password must be given but that can not be left over to the users....
We use a MAK key and not KMS (not a solution because MAK key is chosen..)
Also tried to activate remotly thru ospp but then a error appears 0x80072ee2. According to Microsoft this has something to do with rights, but how to overcome this problems.
I would like a silent install thru GPO and no user intervention, including activating....
What is the best way to solve this problem?
    freddie

I have almost the complete silent install however struggling with activation. Tried the above command in OCT with the cmd.exe /c etc switch but nothing happens because after starting a office programm activation requered coms in. It could be do that the installation
is in a batchfile and runs in a computer GPO maybe the system user has no rights to activate….
I cannot find a log file in %temp% to see what errors are…
I have also tried to set a batchfile at computer startup the runonce and even force in the OCT to start the machine up after Office 2010 is installed but then i need to restart the machine again because the runonce batchfile is put there after a restart is
taken place i guess so the machine needs to reboot the second time for the activation batchfile runs.
I am now seeking a easy way to activate silently and automatically without user intervention.
    Summarize what i have tried:
configure office thru OCT in the OCT tried AUTO_ACTIVATE =1 and add registry keys which adds a key in the runonce to start a batchfile which suppoce to activate Office. But after install office the machine restarts and after login the batch is not started,
    it is started next reboot....
Als tried in OCT to run cscript OSPP /act as a command post installation.
Non of the above works. Auto_activate and the direct script OSPP does nothing. The batchfile in the runonce starts the OSPP command but after a new restart so it needs 2 restarts.
The msp file is saved on a shared resource and the command to start the msp file is put in a batchfile which runs at startup script thru gpo, so maybe the local system user which runs the installation then cannot access the internet or whatever but thatswhy
i made  batchfile in the runonce so that batch is started under the user, but if only the batchfile would start after the installation and reboot of Office 2010 and not reboot again to start it...
What else can i do to activate Office automatically?

  • Found error while Deploying office 365 through SCCM.

    Hello Experts,
We are currently working to deploy office 365 through SCCM but on client system it failed to installed.
    found error in AppEnforce.log file.
Please help to resolved the error.

ConfigMgr is doing it's job and trying to install the application. However the installation times out after an hour.
    See:
Waiting for process 5820 to finish.
That would suggest to me that there is something wrong with your installation parameters. The installation is probably not fully silent and is awaiting user input (that you cannot see).
Narcoticoo's advice is good. Try to install the app silently manually. Until you can do this successfully ConfigMgr will not be able to deploy it.

  • Deploy a shortcut via SCCM 2012 R2

Hello, I have a package that installs a program in C: \ Application but it does not create an application shortcut on desktop.

You could enable verbose logging for the MSI installation.
Then install the MSI using the local system account with PSEXEC -i -s cmd.exe
    http://richardbalsley.com/a-simple-tip-to-test-software-installation-using-the-local-system-account
Have a look at the log file and compare it to a log file installed with your own credentials.

  • Deploying Office 2013 through SCCM 2012 SP1 leaves Office 2010 Tools and Sharepoint behind

I apologize in advance, but I have searched similar topics to this, but I haven't seen an answer yet that describes where and how to accomplish this.  I'm also a bit new to SCCM and I'm still finding the nuances.
Scenario:  Running SCCM 2012 SP1.  Office 2013 32bit is added as an application and deployed properly with an accompanied .msp file stored in the source folder.  The configuration is to have Office
2010 uninstalled silently.  The deployment runs flawless and the user doesn't know otherwise.  Success in anyone's book, right?
Except... Office 2010 Tools and SharePoint Workspace 2010 are left over.  Manual uninstallation is not an option.  This is for hundreds of PC's in several global locations.
I've seen it hinted to write a script.  That's fine I suppose, but what do I write, where do I store the script, and can I have SCCM2012 automatically run it before the installation of 2013?
Our favorite IT tool Google hasn't quite returned what I'm looking for.   Does anyone here have ideas or perhaps have experienced a similar issue?
    Thanks,

1st, save the following content as a XML file on a server share, named as "config.xml".
    <Configuration Product="ProPlus">
    <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />
    <Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="Never" />
    </Configuration>
Run the following script during or before the installation of Office 2013:
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup Controller\setup.exe" /uninstall ProPlus /config \\servershare\Config.xml

  • Enabling Thesaurus for Microsoft Office 2012 via SCCM?

    Hi guys,
We have Office 2012 with Windows 8.1 in our corporate environment but at the time of BOE/SOE creation, Thesaurus was left out with deployment.
If we want to enable Thesaurus across all the PC's what the easiest way to do this?
    Via SCCM or Group Policy?
    Thanks in advance!

To be clear:  this is an Office question, not an SCCM question.  When it comes to app deployment and configuration SCCM basically dogmatically does what ever you tell it to do so what you really need to to know is:  how will Office let me
    do this?
The exact process is also going to vary depending on which office you have installed.  Enterprise media will let you use setup /admin for example to create configurations you can push to workstations (adding missing components like the shared features
which I think will have the Thesaurus), Click-to-run from O365 will require the editing of a deployment xml (I'm blanking on the details but you can look it up) ...
.. at the end of the day there _is_ a silent way to update the deployments which will enable you to create a package/application that you can then push to workstations.  Sadly exact syntax is not as straight forward as "how do i update Office"
... because frankly there's lots of ways depending on the flavor.

  • PXE Boot a client to connect to a Remote Desktop Session Host/Terminal Server Farm via SCCM 2007

    Hi all,
we've got a bunch of old desktops which are destined for disposal but i was wondering if we couldn't use them as disk-free clients to connect to our Remote Desktop farm. I did some digging and have managed to put together an iso which will boot
the machine into WinPE and then connect to our farm. However, since it's an iso i have to use either a cd or usb for this to work. (This is pretty much what i did: http://www.iammacgyver.com/2011/02/easy-rdp-60-from-winpe-30-simple-boot.html)
What i want to do is to advertise the boot.wim to the client via SCCM so that it boots via PXE and then picks up the WinPE image and connect to the RD farm. I've imported the boot.wim file into SCCM under Boot Images and created an empty Task Sequence
with the boot.wim as its Boot Image. I then advertised this Task Sequence to a collection which contains the old desktop clients. The machine PXE boots ok and loads up WinPE but rather than launch a remote desktop connection, it trundles through the normal
WinPE stages and once it's finished 'Preparing Network Connections' it simply ends and the client reboots.
Is what i'm trying actually possible?
Can anyone tell me why the ISO works yet pushing the boot.wim out as a Boot Image doesn't? I know the boot.wim file (which is the same one present in the ISO) is ok since the client boots into WinPE fine when PXE booted so why doesn't the remote
desktop session conenction launch? How is booting from the ISO different from booting from the PXE boot.wim file?
Slightly long winded problem so many thanks in advance to anyone who can pass some info my way!

It doesn't work because importing it into ConfigMgr injects binaries and the task sequence engine along with the process to launch the engine thus suppressing whatever you've got configured.
Perhaps you could use a pre start command (pre-execution hook in 2007 parlance) to launch your RDP process though.

  • Patch deployment on second Primary SCCM 2007 site

    Dears,
I have the following design on my SCCM infrastructure.
1 Primary Site (Parent Site code H01)  - Located at HQ
1 Primary Site (Site code D01) - Located at DR and reporting to HQ primary Parent site
    - clients located in DR location has the agent installed with site code ("D01")
-clients located in HQ has the agent installed with site code "HQ1")
    My questions are:
I have create a deployment management in HQ site and install patches to all clients belong to HQ with site code H01 without any problem.
For clients belong to "D01" I want them to get the patches from D01 primary sccm server located in DR.
Should I create another deployment management in DR sccm server separately or I can use the existing SCCM deployment management created in HQ1?
Any suggestions are much highly appreciated.
    Many thanks guyz..
    MC

Yes, they will appear locked at that site. You can't edit them. If I recall correctly though you can deploy them. I always perform all administration at the top site in the hierarchy though.
Are you truly trying to use a child primary as a in a DR scenario? If so that's not a great idea.

    Hi Nils,
I think you must have selected the defualt checkbox (Try and uncheck that). Also uncheck the checkbox for "<i>Yes, I want to remeber the password for deployment</i>" if it is also selected. When you deploy the par file now enter the password and try to deploy. I think this will solve your problem.
Apart from this, try this methos of deploying the Par file.
    1) Save you project. Right click it and "Quick par Upload".
    2) On your browser type
    "http://<your_server_name>:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/"
    Your case:
    <i>http://khz059:52900/irj/servlet/prt/portal/</i>
or same page you can get by navigating:
    System Administration-> Support-> Portal Runtime-> Administration Console.
    3) At the option "Please specify a Portal Archive file (PAR) and press "upload" to store it into the PCD." Deploy your par file by giving the path.
Now you file is deployed on the server. If you want to create an Iview from this deployed .par file then :
    1) On your portal. Follow the path: Content Administrator-> Portal Content -> Portal Content(sub-option). Right click -> New from par ->iView.
    2) Here in the list you will find the par file which you have uploaded. Proceed as said.
    3) You will finally have an iView. Right click it and preview it.
I hope this solves your problem.
    Regards
    Pravesh

  • Problem uninstalling Office 2010

My company is currently using Office 2010 ProPlus via O365 subscription.  We are preparing to update to Office 2013 and I am trying to create a script that will uninstall Office & Lync 2010 and install Office 2013.
I'm having trouble finding a way to uninstall Office 2010 from a script.
I've tried to follow the instructions I found here, but when I run the command:
    setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config uninstallconfig.xml
    I get an error:
The product installation has been corrupted.  Run setup again from the CD, DVD, or other original installation source.
The install source I'm using is a shared folder on our network, which is the same location Office 2010 was installed from.
I've tried using both /uninstall ProPlus and /uninstall ProPlusSub as I'm not sure which one is correct.  I get the same error both ways.
    Any suggestions?

Just like the error says that your installation has been corrupted. I would suggest you to use Microsoft Fix It tool to remove Office 2010:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179
Or you might repair Office 2010 first, then try to use /uninstall command again.
For the command, please check whether you have typed the correct ProductID. For more details about
    /uninstall, please refer to:

  • Deploying Office 2010 with SP2 / Access runtime 2010

I am trying to install Office 2010 thru OCT / GPO. Starting a computerstartup script which runs a batchfile. The batchfile is starting the deinstalltion of Office 2003 and installs Office 2010. In the updates folder is also SP2 integrated so that SP2 is
    also installed.
In another batchfile and another policy i also install Access Runtime 2010.
The problem i have is that the installation of office 2010 is starting and installs, however the SP2 is often not. Sometimes it does and sometimes it don't. That is also the fact for Runtime 2010. Sometimes it does and sometimes not, then only Office 2010
    is installed without SP2.
because he sometimes installes access runtime 2010 and Office 2010 SP2 it makes it more difficult.
The batchfiles are running in computer startup script so before the user can log in to their W7 systems.

  • Migrating Clients from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 R2 via SCCM 2007 PACKAGE

I can migrate sccm clients from sccm 2007 to sccm 2012 using sccm 2007 package with sccm 2012 client?
    Thanks!
    Atenciosamente Julio Araujo

Thanks for help me Peter and Torsten but this documentation says:
"You cannot upgrade Configuration Manager 2007 clients to System Center 2012 Configuration Manager by using this method.
In this scenario, use automatic client upgrade, which automatically creates and deploys a package that contains the latest version of the client."
I Need migrate clients from sccm 2007 to sccm 2012 r2 and
I thought ofcreate a package in sccm 2007 with a sccm 2012 client.

  • Deploy Lync 2013 Via SCCM 2012

    Dear,
I wants to deploy Microsoft Lync 2013 via SCCM 2012, I have created a new deployment package based on MSI file to install Microsoft Lync 2013 for company machines, during the installation package will install for clients computer perfectly but instead of
install automatically to users, every time message coming user should do it manually for example user should accept the terms of the agreement, kindly I need a way to solve this issue, I need Lync 2013 automatically install without users doing anything, please
    see attached snapshot.

Make sure that you are using the right command line using your newly created MSP
    ex: setup.exe /adminfile "Lync_Updated.msp"
As proposed, update your DP so that your MSP gets distributed.
You can also follow this guide if you're still experiencing difficulties.
