may be someone can help me to solve this.
i have SunFire V245

i have information about supported HDD and OEM P/N, :
Seagate ST973401SS (73GB - 10000 RPM SAS) Disk Drive, RoHS:Y
Fujitsu MAY2073RC (73GB - 10000 RPM SAS) Disk Drive, RoHS:Y
Seagate ST973402SS (73GB - 10000 RPM SAS) Disk Drive, RoHS:Y
But when i try installing the OEM disk, some disk can not detected. i've make sure in other systems (non SUN server) that all of the HDD running well without any problem. why SunFireV245 can't detect some of the drive, but some could detected and running well?
and why if i used OEM HDD, it's LED blinking as unusual. it only blinking when HDD inserted. then off.

if backplane is the real problem, it should didn't detect any HDD attached to the same slot/port, rite?
i was wondering, does it could be the problem with it's HDD bracket? but i can't see any component in the bracket that could affect HDD operation.
and 1 more things i consider, why when i attached Fujitsu drive, it's HDD led didn't blinking even it was detected and in operation.

If you already get a warning about internal HDD before Windows starts I would recommend exchanging it and backup all data as fast as possible.
Is your notebook still under warranty?
If yes you can get a new HDD from an authorized service provider. This would be for free because its covered by warranty. Everything what you have to do is contacting an ASP.

No Responses from ALOM using NET MGNT PORT on SunFire v245

Please Help...
I have two sunfire V245 servers running Apache on Solaris 5.10. Both servers have the same settings and apps. Before we used serial port to connect to ALOM 1.6. We switched to net mgnt port because of virtualization of all our servers.
Situation:
Server 1 applied the solaris patches to server 1 and switch to Net Mgnt port to connect to ALOM and no problem setting up and connecting to ALOM. And it is still working and everything works fine.
Server 2 did not applied any solaris patches and switch to Net Mgnt port to connect to ALOM and no problem setting up and connecting to ALOM. After applying solaris patches to server 2 (same patches applied to Server 1), no responses from ALOM when connecting to it. Apache and Unix OS are both working fine. Just can not connect to ALOM.

if you want to connect via net mgmt port, then you have to configure a separate IP address for net mgmt to access.
if you have not configure the IP for net mgmt then you can connect to serial mgmt port with a straight cable and with a DB-9 connector (null modem)
OR
you can do this from OS as well.
go to
login as root user
cd /usr/platform/`uname -i`
cd sbin
./scadm help
./scadm setsc netsc_ipaddr 0.0.0.0 (net mgmt IP, other than OS)
./scadm setsc netsc_ipnetmask 0.0.0.0
./scadm setsc netsc_ipgateway 0.0.0.0

plug in a cable in net mgmt port.
now u can access through net mgmt IP.
the proper way to exit from serial management is
sc> logout

MSI mobo not detecting HDD

Please help,
My newly installed MSI 6383 Socket 370 Mobo is not detecting HDD. Actually, it detects it but is not booting to WinXP. It hangs up while verifying VMI data pool?
Any Suggestions.
I had to replace mobo due to lightning strike which zapped psu and mobo, i think.

Yes it was in zapped pc. We have an identical HP in another office so i I took this drive out and put it in identical one and it works fine. It is jumpered as the master and connected that way. Seems like it is a compatability problem between motherboard and HDD, but I don't know. Both the floppy and the cdrw work fine. Thanks for the help.

Hard Disk Problems Detected
A hard disk is reporting health problems.
I get this message. I have triple boot (Arch, Ubuntu & Windows) and I don't get any error messages on the other two OSs. The error is for my 1.0TB internal HDD and the SMART status is: DISK HAS MANY BAD SECTORS.
Any ideas on why I get that message or how to disable it?

If your drive supports self-tests, perform a long one and review the results:

If the self-test doesn't confirm bad sectors you should do a system update with pacman.
Otherwise I'd prepare to back up my data.

according to the Sun System Handbook the Minimum Supported Solaris Operating Environment Versions is Solaris 9 9/05.
Earlier releases lack the proper kernel for these systems.
You can easily verify by booting with a CD of an earlier release. It asks to enter the path to the non-existent kernel file ...

Audio Configuration problem detected after install

During the download of the new ITunes version I had a major power failure. I went back and completed the download and after the installation I got an error message that ITunes could not be opened due to an audio configuration problem detected. I went to the Apple site and downloaded a new version from scratch and after the install I got the same audio error. Any Suggestions?

Hard Disk failed but no problems detected in hardware test

My macbook crashed yesterday when I was running a photo sideshow. When I turned it on a flashing question mark appeared. I have followed instructions in the mac manual and looked at some discussions here. If I hold down the options key on startup there is no hard drive there and there is also no have drive if I run the disk utility but when I ran the hardware test it said no problems detected and I have repeated the test several times. This might mean there is an issue with the software but how can i reinstall it if I can't see the hard drive? I'm not sure what to do or what the problem is so please help

Problems detected after updating to iTunes version 11.1.3.8 for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit version, Service Pack 1.
USB connected iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.4) is not recognised in iTunes.
Sluggish response when starting iTunes.
Any known remedy?

After updating to the newest version of iTunes which is 11.1.3.8, I can no longer edit song information because whenever I click Get Info, the program crashes. It says, "iTunes has stopped working...". I literally tried all the troubleshooting techniques here but to no avail!
I already:
Reinstalled iTunes and other related programs like a hundred times
Scanned my computer for viruses
Opened iTunes on another user account
Opened iTunes on safe mode
Removed unusable configuration files
BUT STILL, the problem persists. I have the same version of iTunes on my office computer and it works perfectly fine but I want my iTunes here at home to get fixed. Never had problems with editing song information until I updated it to 11.1.3.8.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I updated this program last January 1 and until now I haven't found any solution. It's really getting on my nerves!!!

Serious problem detected during aggregating

While executing job with only one step:DBMS_AWM.AGGREGATE_AWCUBE
i got a strange error (the output is below the post).
The strange thing is that when i change aggregation plan and i'm aggregating only few levels everything works fine. Aggregating more levels causes problem.
So i can aggregate cube, but only a few levels.
Cube isn't big
about 500 000 fact rows (unsolved)
6 measures
10 dimensions where 3 of them have 3000 members. others are less than 500.
What could it be?

This is a knowned 'Express' issue. We had it while running a medium sized DataBase of 12 Gb. Express is not that perfect to handle 'non widthed dimension'. The more you can define text dimension with a width attribute the better it is !!

Poking around a little more I see some suggestions about this error being caused when the batteries are too low. I was actually trying to use it plugged in but without batteries. I had put it away and so I took the batteries out. If these batteries don't work can I use regular alkaline batteries? If the HDD is actually bad (I found out that the article that used to be on nomadness.com was about how to replace the HDD) I'm just going to chuck it, but I'd like to see if it can be solved by charging or replacing the batteries.

- reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
