Problem displaying iCal notifications
Since upgrading my Macs from Mac OS X 10.4.7 to 10.4.8, all my iCal notifications pop up in a way where most of the notification window appears off the screen. Just a small portion of each notification window appears on the left side of my display.
This is happening on my MacBook Pro that I use at home, work and school. It is also happening on the PowerMac G5 in my office at work, and my PowerMac G5 at home and other than installing Apple's latest iLife and OS updates, I have not changed either Mac.
Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is there a way for me to fix this problem, or do I need to wait for a bug fix from Apple?
In that case, I request that anyone else who is experiencing this issue submit a bug report to Apple via iCal's feedback feature.

No need to encourage folks to clog up the system by continuing to report something already acknowledged and for which a fix will be forthcoming.

ICal Event Invitations Not Appearing in iCal Notifications
When my wife sends me an iCal invitation from her iMac to my PowerPC Mac, the invitations arrive in my Mail inbox but not in my iCal Notifications.
My "Me" card lists my three email addresses.
My "General" Mail preference, 'Add invitations to iCal:', is "Automatically".
My "Advanced" iCal preference, 'Automatically retrieve invitations from Mail", is checked.
Any tips or suggestions? I seem to recall getting this to work by setting the Mail preference which automatically enables the iCal preference then manually disabling the iCal preference while ensuring the Mail preference is still set to Automatically but that's such a kludge.figured it out. it was a time zone syncing problem.

Weather not displaying in notification center after iOS 5 update not to mention the entire user interface is much more sluggish.
Okay, mine now works here is what I did.
plug in the iPhone, iPad etc
in iTunes select the phone or iPad
Under Summary uncheck "Sync with this....."
Under "Music" uncheck the "Sync Music"
Let it remove all the songs, dont worry it will come back no problems.
Once that is all done all the music on the phone or ipad should be gone.
Now check them both back on and everything should copy back onto it.
Working now !!!!! -
Can I put reminders to display in notification centre?
I am looking to put a reminder, which is without an alert, to my notification centre. So that notification centre will remind me each time i pull it down.
Coz to me, it sounds like only reminder items which are with alerts will be displayed in notification centre.
is that true?
and is it possible to do so?I have the same problem. I'm assuming it's because there's no date/time tied to the reminder. I think it would be helpful to have a non-dated/timed reminder viewable in the notification center.

I have a problem syncing iCal on my Macbook air (10.7.5) and my iPhone 4s (5.1.1) over iCloud. The following server error message comes up "The request (CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation) for account “iCloud” failed." Been to Apple Store - no luck instore, or with Super genius over the phone when with genius in store, taking data in real time via ethernet!
I had to do a full wipe of my system because of time machine back up issues 2 weeks ago, and the error has only occured at some point since then. I only did a drag and drop of my user account folders/files into an External HDD rather than a copy of my user account (advised by the staff in store at Apple to do this) and when reimported, the Mail folders are all present but each message is in a sub-sub-sub folder that is numerically named. I do not have a mirror image of the hard disk prior to the wipe, only a time machine back up from 2 weeks prior to it being done. I am uncertain if this reinstall has caused the issue.
I am not happy to upgrade the software in my iPhone until I have the calendars working. I have purchased Mountain Lion, but again am concerned about upgrading until the issues are sorted.
I have tried the other solutions on here with no luck. HELP please.

I made a back of what existing phtos and Videos I had on my Iplhone. I used Image capture to do this making an entire back up of photos and videoa that were still intact on the phone.
Image capture is god for this purpose, as it does exactly what you ask it to do without applying any rules or squishing the files back into iphote (which might also be corupted)
Image capture wil do the basic function of retriving the contents of the phone and save them as native files on your hard drive.
Once I did this I erased my iphone, and re intitialised it restoring an older back up from icloud.
As the retore was happneing - I did retreive the missing files that cuased the intial beviour as above, and I could play the videos that were missing in the above scenerio. The wierd ting was however that even though the source files were now back on the device, the thumbnail previews were missing. Where I ahd balck thumb nails for server portions of the resotred content.
I then went to bed as the restore is a long process. When I woke up the library had library had cleaned itself up. Mysteriously the prcess had deleted the files missing the their thumbnails.
This is very perculiar and bad behavior.
I am now repeating the process, and will attempt to download the missing content as it is restored and prior to the phone trying to fix itself.
Here are the lessons learned.
DO NOT rely on Photo Stream to keep back ups and synchornise videos from you IOS device. IT DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS CAPBILITY
DO NOT rely on iCloud Back Up alone - always fd an occassional iTunes back up or more reliably still always take a back up of photos and video files using Image Capture to be doubly sure that you a have backd up any content.
DO THIS NOW - dont wait to loose your phone ofr have your phone repaired by replacement at the apple Store. (I did both :-( -
Problem displaying CLOB in text file

I have a problem displaying the content from the database in notepad. When I click on a link on my jsf screen, I retrieve the data and display it in notepad.
I have my text content stored in the database with CLOB datatype. When I look in the database the data looks in the following format:

All the new line characters are lost and it just puts some junk character in place of a new line.
When I copy the same text onto textpad, everything is alright and it displays exactly the way it is present in the database. I am also open to display the content in html, but in HTML it doesn't even display me the junk character in place of new line. It is just one single string without any line separators.
I am using the following code to put the content into the text.

Thanks.The data is imported from a third party application to my database. It doesn't display any newline characters when I view the data.
But when I do a regular expression search on text pad, I could see that my clob contains \n as the new line character. Is there a way to replace \n with \n\r while writing the data.

I have a problem with iCal.Since 2 days ago,I couldn't add new event in iCal on my ipad2.It Keeps saying 'No calendar has been set", then if I go to Calendar field,choose one calendar,it gives this msg "That event doesn't belong to that event store". I can add event from iCloud and from my iCal on my iMac. Please help
Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)

While I love iWeb's ease of use, it seems to have serious problems displaying on IE. There is really no point blaming IE, since it is the dominant browser and most people who will see our sites will use it. The point of iWeb should be to allow people to communicate broadly and effectively, not just to Mac & Safari users.
Lists do not work well. The indents do not display properly. Text in boxes shift alignment and location. Bullets show up with different sizes. I have had to hand indent and line space all the lists in the sites I make, which is a mess and not scaleable.

Are there any workarounds or fixes?
The other obvious issues with iWeb are worth noting:
* inconsistent display in browsers -- pages look different in Safari and Firefox, even on the Mac (let alone IE)
* difficulty adding html code
* page names must be identical to nav names, so pages with multiple words (Get Involved) display urls as /Get%20Involved (can't be corrected unless you have Get_Involved as a header.)
* need to publish whole site for any change
* need to publish all sites for each change to any site
* can't change color, display, location, function etc for Nav
I assume everyone is aware of these problems. The question is, what to do? Grin and bear it? Any help, tips or ideas would be appreciated.

You can fix this by separating your sites into different Domain files so you only publish one at a time.
Contrary to the other response, "encoding" is not connected to the points you made. There is never any need to add a UTF-8 "tag" to an iWeb page. If you see question marks or Â's when your page is displayed on any browser, Mac or PC, then you may need to fix your ftp or server settings. -
Problems displaying rtf memo fields

We use Crystal Reports X to run reports on an Access database with a significant number of rtf memo fields. We use Total Access Memo to allow extended use of rtf within Access as our users require the additional formatting capabilities that this offers.
However, there are considerable problems displaying items like bullet points, tables and hyperlinks in the Crystal Viewer with tables in particular coming out in a real mess with all entries in the table being displayed in a list with a small square marking each cell at the end of each line.
Curiously, if you preview the report in the full version of Crystal X, it appears a bit better with the hyperlinks still underlined (bullet points still vanish) and rows in rtf tables are at least presented as a row even if the columns are not ordered and mixed (with no bounding cells visible).
Firstly, is this disparity of end result between full Crystal X Print Preview and the Crystal X Viewer fixable?
Secondly, is the limited handling of rtf tags likely to be solved in the next release of Crystal?Hi Mathias,
If I caught you correctly, you want to display data in Adobe forms in form of tabel, right?
So, follow the steps:
1. Insert one sub form on your adobe form.
2. Set its type as "flow content" in object->subform property.
3. Set flow direction as "Table".
4. Insert another subform inside this subform.
5. set its type as "flow content" and flow direction as "Table row".
6. Now, choose binding tab, and there check "repeat subform for each Data item check box" and specify min. count for your rows.
7. Now, insert your column fields inside this sub form once.
8. Format its look and feel as you want.
When you run this application, it will show you multiple data as table on Adobe form.

I've recently upgraded to FireFox 22. Originally, a legacy XBAP I use always opened correctly in FireFox and had no problems displaying or running. As of 22, it won't even attempt to download the application, let alone try and display it.
I have the windows Presentation Foundation 3.5.30729.1 installed, which is the same version I have been using in older versions.

We got about inflow of phone calls from our clients experiencing the problem mentioned above from the 2nd of July onwards... and more are phoning in.
All the complaints come from clients (+- 10 so far and rising in number) using Firefox v22 (we have checked), and all of them have said that it was working previously.
We downgraded one of the clients to an older version of Firefox, and it worked again. So far we are telling our clients to downgrade until a fix comes out, or use Internet Explorer (*blush*) -

Problems displaying itab with 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'

I have a problem displaying the internal table itab_test. Itab_uload is a TYPE TABLE of a complex and nested structure I defined in the DDIC. I am able to pass the entries, which are not conform with the specifications, to itab_test, but when I execute the program I get a short dump.
Error message is:" It was tried to pass the internal table IT_FIELDCAT to the formal parameter IT_FIELDCAT. In doing so, a ^type conflict occured between the formal and the actual parameter."
Can anybody please advise on the code-sample below. What did I wrong and what can I do to correct it?

I want to see script errors when script errors occur in pages (as a developer). In older versions of IE when you enable 'Display a notification about every script error' a yellow icon appeared at the bottom of IE and when you clicked it, you could see what
