  • URGENT : Problem in Photo Dispay in ESS Who's Who

    Hi,
    We have a situation there that, the employee photo is not displayed for Who's Who Service. (ERP2005)
    The problem is happening in QA System, but the same is coming in the Dev system.
    From the PA30 we are able to display the photo.
    Kindly throw some light
    Best Regards
    SERA

    Hi Sera,
    Compare the iview properties in both DEV and TST system.
    Also, compare the config in R3 for both systems.

  • Problems displaying photos

    My new VAIO doesn’t display photographs  properly. For example, there are color changes in the shadowed portions  of portraits, so that the shadowed side of the face looks pink instead  of skin color. The same problem appears in landscape  pictures – the colors of the shadowed portions are not correct. The  problem occurs in Photoshop CS5, Firefox, and Windows Photo Viewer but  not in Paint, for some reason. Does anyone have a solution? I work a lot  with photo processing so it is really important for me to fix this  problem ASAP. Thanks in advance!
    Specification:

    Windows7 64-bit

    In addition to changing the monitor profile to sRGB as suggested, check your display imaging at this website:
    http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/
    Pay particular attention to the Contrast, Gamma Calibration, Black Level, White Saturation, and Gradient (banding) tests. You can use this site as a "poor man's" monitor calibrator, but it won't help you to set accurate screen color temperature or luminance level. Any hardware monitor calibrator will do that for you and adjust your screen for more accurate colors. I wouldn't use Lightroom without one, since you are making your “visual" image adjustments with an unknown frame of reference!
    You have severe posterization in the shadow area of the posted screen capture. This might be due to a bad monitor profile, graphics driver, Windows Display Setup issue, or simply a problem with these pictures. The Langom website tests will tell you more.

  • Problems displaying photo

    Hi All,
    In the first place, I've already searched for this topic and I didn't find any suitable solution, maybe that's because I'm a newbie.
    Windows XP
    Oracle XE 11.2
    APEX 4.0.2.00.09
    It is a school application. 3 Pages.
    Page 1: login
    Page 2:
    HTML Text with an automatic row fetch sowing pupils data, also there is an item DISPLAY IMAGE called P2_DISPLAY_FOTO that reference the actual database column containing the BLOB, everything works great.
    I can see the pupils data with corresponding photo.
    There is a button (named TEST) that will redirect to Page 3.
    There is an After Region Computation that will store
    the BLOB information into a hidden item called P3_DISPLAY_FOTO. This is a pl/sql Function Body, and this is what it does:
    return '<img src="'||apex_util.get_blob_file_src('P2_DISPLAY_FOTO',:P2_ALUMNOS_DNI)||'" />';
    P2_ALUMNOS_DNI is the primary key for the table containing the BLOB column.
    Page 3:
    This page will be used to perform some calculations for the chosen pupil from Page 2, and I need to show data from previous Page 2, such as Name, Last Name, and PHOTO.
    The thing is, I DO NOT WANT TO ACCESS DATABASE AGAIN TO GET THE BLOB and name and last name, I'm trying to avoid unnecessary database queries.
    There is no problem to show again pupil name and last name. But I cannot display the corresponding photo.
    In order to display the photo again, this is what I did:
    - I created a subregion as html text with shortcuts
    - defined as region source = &P3_DISPLAY_FOTO.
    wich has been set on Page 2 after region computations
    Well, it does'n work, the sub region will show the following string:
    <img src="apex_util.get_blob_file?a=103&s=326193120935733&p=2&d=7366714062123782&i=8726421562708554&p_pk1=20912349&p_pk2=&p_ck=0B5CD62FA1A56005CA6AB150510F60C3" />
    The strange thing is:
    I tried to replace the region source
    &P3_DISPLAY_FOTO.
    for
    <img src="apex_util.get_blob_file?a=103&s=326193120935733&p=2&d=7366714062123782&i=8726421562708554&p_pk1=20912349&p_pk2=&p_ck=0B5CD62FA1A56005CA6AB150510F60C3" width = "200px" />
    and it works.
    I also tried to define the sub region with region source=
    htp.p('<div class="sparepartImgContainer">');
    htp.p('&P3_DISPLAY_FOTO.');
    htp.p('</div>');
    but it doesn't work either.
    Hope my explanation is clear.
    I'll try testing some other ideas in the meanwhile...
    any ideas will be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Regards.
    Found how to fix this.
    On Page 2, I changed the P3_DISPLAY_FOTO computation
    from
    return '<img src="'||apex_util.get_blob_file_src('P2_DISPLAY_FOTO',:P2_ALUMNOS_DNI)||'" />';
    to
    return ' '||apex_util.get_blob_file_src('P2_DISPLAY_FOTO',:P2_ALUMNOS_DNI)||' ';
    And I changed Page 3 sub region region source
    from
    &P3_DISPLAY_FOTO.
    to
    <img src=&P3_DISPLAY_FOTO. />
    Now everything works great.
    Sorry to disturb you all.
    Regards

    If you must store HTML code in session state and access it using static text substitution (not recommended) then use an application item.

  • Apple TV:  Problems displaying photos properly

    I have sync'd the Apple TV to my "My Pictures" folder. For some reason when viewing a slideshow of these photos some of them that are shown in "portrait" on my computer are displaying in "landscape" on the tv. I'm stumped on how this happened and what to do to correct it. It doesn't turn all photos to landscape so I don't know what is unique about the ones it has done that to. Any ideas for me? It's driving me nuts!
    Thanks!

    These are probably JPGs.
    Photos are either truly portrait i.e. they're saved from an editor with data organised in this orientation, or have their orientation set by various flags.
    Many cameras will set a 'flag' to indicate the camera was held portrait during shooting but not all do.
    Resaving JPGs as portrait will usually recompress them losing quality due to reordering rows and columns, but there is a flag in the JPEG header that can control orientation without affecting the data and is referred to as lossless rotation, and some software can change this setting.
    If an image is truly Portrait then it should show ok on AppleTV.
    The potential problem lies with the other 2 methods.
    Sometimes only the manufacturer's display/editing software knows that a shot was portrait (due to a manyfacturer's flag in the EXIF data) - consequently it shows it ok, but other apps or devices still think it's a landscape image.
    I can't remember if AppleTv handles lossless JPEG rotation or not.
    Windows XP's image preview rotation function isn't lossless (last time I used it anyway), so any photos rotated with that should show as portrait.
    Can you remember how you rotated images to portrait, or if the viewing software on XP just knew they were?
    A portrait image could also have a rotation flag set that makes it show landcsape even when it isn't.

  • Hard drive noise & problem displaying photos

    I have a 2 day old Ipod Video. I uploaded photos and when I try to display them, the hard drive vibrates slightly and makes noise. Plus, it takes forever for the Photo Library to load. I do not have this problem playing music or videos. Sounds like I may need to return it. Any input would be appreciated.
    5th G Ipod   Windows XP

    It is normal for the library to take long to load sometimes, depending on how many photos you have. Happens to mine too once in awhile. Are pictures totally not loading or are they just taking awhile to load?

  • Problem Displaying Photos Attached to an Email

    On my U530, I cannot display  a photo that is sent to me as an attachment to an email.   When I click on the photo, I am taken to Lenovo Photos and the photo is not displayed, not can I figure out how to display it.  Is there a way that I can just display the photos in some other manner?

    Try downloading the photo/photos and determine the type (that is png, jpeg, etc.). Try openning it with other program (you can use paint) by right clicking the photo file and choosing the other program if it can't be  open by Lenovo Photo.

  • How to Displaying Employee Photo in ESS Who's Who via Reverse Proxy?

    Dear Gurus,
    I have a bit of problem to displaying employee's photo in ESS Who's Who via Reverse Proxy.
    In my landscape, end-users are only able to reach the Reverse Proxy server, not the actual SAP server itself.
    In Who's Who, when displaying the employee's info, the URI for the photo is generated using the actual SAP server name.
    Illustration:
    - the URI we expect: https://portal.domain.com/sap/bc/contentserver?.....
    - the URI we get: http://r3server.domain.com/sap/bc/contentserver?....
    Does anyone know where/how I can set the URL (hostname and protocol part) to refer to my reverse proxy?
    Or is it because SAP is using an absolute path rather than the relative one?
    How do we go about it?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Display Photo in Employee Who is who search

    Hi,
    We are planning to display the photo of an employee in the employee Who is Who search
    Please let me know the procedure to do the same and points will be rewarded for sure
    Thanks
    Bala Duvvuri

    hi bala,
    Link photo to personnel number
    Transaction code OAAD
    Click on the Create – Store and Assign button. Enter Business Object PREL and Document Type HRICOLFOTO. Click on create(F8).
    Enter the Personnel Number of the employee you want to link the photo to. Choose also the infotype that you wish the photo to be displayed on (not sure how relevant this is. It works if you use 0002 but should also work if left blank. Suspect is only relevant if you wanted to store different photos for different infotypes)
    Click on Continue.
    Enter the path and filename of the photo. The dropdown will allow you to navigate to the appropriate directory.
    SAP will notify you that the Stored document is created successfully and you end up with something like:
    If you get an error 401 to do with missing authorisations, then try and redo the above step. It often only happens the first time you try and load the photo.

    This iView displays the employees in the manager’s area of responsibility, that is, employees who report either directly or indirectly to the manager. The display is based on the SAP application component Organizational Management.
    You can provide managers with various display options in this iView. To do this, you make the relevant Customizing settings in the back-end system (see the "Prerequisites” section) and in the iView properties (see the “Settings” section). Managers can also filter the data that is displayed.
    You can provide managers in your company with all or some of the following display options:
    &#9679;     Display employees for one or more organizational units
    Organizational units are displayed in a separate navigation area in which the manager can select the relevant organizational unit. You have the following display options for the navigation area:
    &#9675;     List display
    The system displays organizational units in a list. This view is suitable if the manager is responsible for only a few organizational units.
    &#9675;     Hierarchy display
    The system displays organizational units in a hierarchy. This is suitable if the manager is responsible for a large number of organizational units, or for part of the overall organizational structure.
    &#9679;     Display directly reporting employees in a list
    This view is suitable for managers located on a higher level in the hierarchy who require quick access to directly reporting employees.
    &#9679;     Search for employees
    The search function is useful for managers who are responsible for a large number of employees. The simple search function in the standard system provides managers with the following search criteria:
    &#9675;     First name
    &#9675;     Middle name
    &#9675;     Last name
    &#9675;     Personnel number
    The enhanced search function also includes the following search criteria:
    &#9675;     Organizational unit
    &#9675;     Personnel area
    &#9675;     Personnel subarea
    You can define additional search criteria in Customizing.
    Integration
    This iView is part of the General Information, Compensation Information, and Personnel Development pages. The iViews on these pages are called by a single Web Dynpro application. In the standard system they are not standalone applications, as users select most data for all iViews on a page, centrally using the Employee Search iView.
    Managers select an employee in the Employee Search iView. Using Eventing, the Floorplan Manager informs the remaining iViews on the page that a new employee has been selected. The iViews obtain the personnel number of the selected employee and display the relevant information for this employee.
    In the standard system, the Employee Search iView is integrated with the following iViews on the pages previously mentioned:
    &#9679;     Managers can use the following iViews to display further information for the selected employee:
    &#9675;     General Data
    Additionally, the Organizational Assignments iView is available by hyperlink from the General Data iView.
    &#9675;     Personal Data

  • Error Message:"Cannot find or create the font 'WP-MathA'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."  Who can help me solve this problem?

    Some of the pdf files I work with (receive) come up with a comment: “Cannot find or create the font ‘WP-MathA’. Some characters may not display or print correctly.”  Who can help me solve this problem?
    Thank you in advance for  your time.

    Hello Anubha,
    I am having a similar problem on my machine.  I was using Word 2008 and I created a PDF inside Word.
    I am opening the file on the system itself and I am running Windows 8.1.  I am using Version 11 of Reader.
    When the PDF I created (my resume) attempts to open, it says:  cannot find or create the file Times, Bold.  Some characters may not display or print correctly.
    However, the entire Reader keeps freezing and will not allow me to open or test print the document.  Also, it is not displaying any of the Bold Times New Roman Print.  Can you please help?  Thanks.

    When we browse thry SAP Standard " Who's Who" - It just display the employee information ina single Line as XL sheet line item and it does not at all show atleast " placeholder" for photo.
    We configured and uploaded all our photoes in the backend ABAP System as per the below link.
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/EmployeePhotoUpload
    We understand -  SAP Standard "ESS"  in application  -   Who's Who - should bring the Employee photo & information from Backend ABAP System.
    Can any one help us to know - why placeholder for photo is missing in "who's who" of ESS applicaiton.

  • Who's who upload photo error

    Hi all,
    I can upload photos in SAP ERP without any problem, and then these photos appear in PA20 / PA30.
    However, when i try to use Portal Component Who's Who i get an error telling that was not possible the upload.
    What am i missing?
    Thanks,
    Luis Cruz

    Hi Luís Cruz,
             Even we have tried for it, That is not possible from portal, we have another option.
    Go to Portal
              --> Content Administration --> Portal Content --> Content Provided by SAP -->Collaboration
                  -->Demo Role --> Iviews --> User Photo Maintenance (Self Service)
    Using this Service iview we can upload our photo with (100 X 130) dimensions. Where as we can assign this iview in the required home page area (like orkut).
