Problem Dowloading Songs From iTunes (error code 8248)

I recently purchased an ipod touch and it seems that now when i try to purchase certain songs (I kissed a girl, addicted by saving abel) it downloads them all the way to the point where it says "processing file" and then either says iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close, or error code 8248. I have consulted with an apple rep about this problem already and they attempted to reimburse me for my lost money and that didnt even work. So now im out a few dollars and i still cant dowload these songs. I greatly appreciate any help or even any ideas you can give me.
iTunes is up to date
I have downloaded and re-installed itunes and it didnt help
Cleared the temporary internet files
Tried dowloading it using my ipod touch and it dowloaded and it showed up in my playlists but when it comes time for that song it just skips it or wont play at all

Hey!
I've also been having problems with the error 8248, and every time I think I get it worked out, it rears its ugly head again.
It first happened after I performed my last iTunes update, as someone else mentioned. It was during a multiple download, a bunch of songs went thru fine and then a few were flagged with the 8248. I was initially credited twice, tried some troubleshooting & reconfiguring each time per the helpful iTunes rep's suggestions to no avail.
Then, I searched the internet to find a solution, came here & saw the suggestions.
So far, I've removed VCast & Spybot, turned off both my Symantec & my firewall...with an unsuccessful attempt (and subsequent re-credit to my acct) between the VCast step & disabling my firewall.
I did successfully download 10 songs after I disabled my firewall, so I assumed the problem was solved. Then I tried to use my credits for the 5 remaining songs from the original download and the whole batch got an 8248 error. Well, my son was on his computer at the time, which shares my connection, so I eliminated that variable (not my son, just the computer use ;^) and tried again this morning...no luck.
WHAT is left to do? Why will it work sometimes and not others? And HOW can I talk to a real, live person to troubleshoot this?! Going thru e-mails has been extremely frustrating, not to mention taking a very long time between attempts.
I have 2 kids just itching to use their birthday gift cards, to boot!
HEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!
<argh!>

  • How do i report an error downloading a song from Itunes (error = -100000)

I purchased a song from Itunes with a number of other songs, all other downloaded as usual, but this in particular restarts downloading up to three times and then gives the error = -100000, and a pop up message suggest "the file may be corrupted" and instructes me to try it later. I have tried a number of times and the result is the same. Is there a way to report the specific file to Itunes Store?

    I tried this:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
While I got genuinely concerend support, I didn't get this issue resolved. I'm noticing that more and more posts are popping up with the same error code so it may be a new issue. Good luck in getting yours fixed!

  • Problem getting songs from iTunes to iPod

Hi all, can any one help?
My 6th Gen iPod was working fine this morning but now I get "Mac OS X can't repair the disk "Marc's iPod". I did manage to get it to show up in iTunes but when I tried to move a song from iTunes to my iPod I got a (-61) error and won't copt songs across. I do not have the privileges to make changes
The iPod shows up on my desk top.
Can anyone help, I'm not that technically minded when it comes to these things.
    Cheers in advance

    Hello marky_marc1979,
Perhaps it would be a good idea to try and reformat the iPod using *Disk Utility*. See this article for instructions on how to do this.

  • Help, I am having problems syncing songs from itunes to my ipod.

I am having great difficulty in trying to sync purchased songs from itunes music store to my ipod.
I have just registered my ipod to my home computer after having it originally registered on a friends computer. Now on my own computer I have purchased 14 songs and have tried to sync them onto my ipod. However it keeps coming up with a message that my computer is not authorized to play them. Therefore its not copying onto my ipod.
Any solutions/help would be greatly recieved, thanks.

I'll wager that you have a second account that you forgot about. Fire up iTunes but do not log on to your account. Try to play one of the problem songs. A popup window will appear asking you to authorize your computer for that account.

  • Problem downloading songs from iTunes to iPhone

I cannot download songs from iTunes into my iPhone. I was able to move about 10 songs but when I view them they are greyed out. I cannot manually move any songs. And if I attempt to drag and drop the iPhone will not accept them as the iPod will. Any suggestions? BTW I can move songs freely from iTunes to my iPod.

    hi jason,
imho, the lack of manual music and video management
is a mistake. i've had 4 ipods over the years and have always used
manual mode. the playlist hack works okay
    and is only mildly cumbersome.
however i tend to buy music from itunes both on my
imac at home and my pc at work. i've always simply
been to plug in my ipod to either computer and grab my
purchases, in either location. now, my iphone is "locked"
to my imac. i'm sure apple had a good reason to leave out
manual management, but i would suggest revisiting this
    asap.

  • Can't play any songs from iTunes, error message "can't find"

I just got an iPod as a present (I'm behind the times) and I put songs on my iPod from some one elses computer. The problem is, now none of the songs on that persons computer will play, I get an error message saying, "the song [insert song name here] could not be used because the original file could not be found." My iTunes is fine, but my friends computer is not!!! Is there any way to fix this, I really hope i didn't just delete all their songs (I didn't even put most of them on my iPod).
    Thanks for any help!

Your songs might be taking up too much room in your iPod.
Open iTunes, right-click on a song. Make sure the song is no bigger than 4 MB and it's a MPEG file.
Also, in iTunes, click "Edit" and then go down to "Preferences". Click the 'Advanced" tab and then the "Importing" tab. Make sure your songs are encoded using AAC Encoder and a high quality setting of 128 kpbs.
If your song information is different from what I just told you then this is the reason why your songs won't fit in your iPod and there's not enough room.

  • Problems Installing Updates from WSUS - Error Code 0x800f0826

    Hi Everyone,
I have a WSUS server that I am using to dish out updates to the rest of my network. I am using PC's with Windows Vista SP1. Most of my PC's are installing updates fine with no problems - but there are a certain few that will not install any updates and return the error 0x800f0826.
All of the PC's are from the same image - so there is nothing different in the software setup that I am aware of.
I have been browing the net for ages, and have tried a few fixes - for example:
Starting Various Services and Setting to Automatic - No Luck
Renaming the SoftwareDistribution Folder - No Luck
Checked update history for failed updates and unassigned potential problem update - No Luck.
I am running out of ideas now - can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Matt

  • "Download error" when getting songs from iTunes on iPod touch 2G

Hi all. Recently I've been getting a "Download Error. Tap to retry" message when I'm downloading songs from iTunes on my iPod Touch. It doesn't always happen, but seems to happen most if I leave the Download screen before the song is done downloading and processing. Even though it says "Tap to retry", when I do that, it just errors again. This continues, with frequent pop-up prompts asking for my iTunes password, until I connect my Touch back to iTunes.
I was curious if other people had the same problem and if there is a fix for this or if I just need to stay on the download screen until the song is done.
I have a 32gig iPod Touch 2nd Gen with the latest OS.
    Thanks for any info.

    Basics from the manual are:

  • Download error/unable to download song from itunes?

I bought songs from itunes store but i can not get them downloded. What I have to do? I have this message showing under the title"download error. Tap to try"
And anotner message appears: Unable to download song, "name of song" could not be downloaded at this time . Have 2 choice tick done or retry but always message comes up after several try... Would be happy if someone could help. Many thanks!

    Hi All,
I see this is very old post, however only as of a couple of months back i'm getting a very similar fault.
I run an iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Mini 2 (cellular) and a Macbook Pro - all using the same iTunes account for my iTunes Match. When the devices are connected to the home Wifi (SKY BROADBAND) not a single problem with the service - However when i attempt to use iTunes match on any device via 3G/4G the devices will skip songs 99% of the time and also not be able to stream previews from the iTunes store.
I find if i have one of the devices on 3G/4G and turn iTunes match off and back on again, it may be able to stream a few songs ok. However this won't last for too long, and before long the issue will return.
From a very broad perspective, you'd think that the issue is with the Cellular Service Provider (EE UK), but i've been in contact with their technical team, and are unable to find any issues on their end, as the phone and iPad are both connected OK to the internet via 3G/4G.
I'm a Technical Analyst by profession, and have tried adjusting all settings, and turning accounts off and back on in different orders to try and find a pattern, but i'm left completely stumped.
Does anyone have a resolution for this?!
    Please Please Help!!
    Kindest Regards,
    Dan

Can anyone help solve this problem?

I've done a search on here and haven't found any solutions posted for it for windows computers. You could try posting in the iTunes For Windows forum and see if you get any suggestions in there (are you able to download other items from the store e.g. a free app ?) - I use a Mac, the only things that I could think of to suggest trying is see if you get the same error on a different iTunes library :
    creating and/or opening a different iTunes library : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589
or using a different user account on your computer in case it's a problem with that user account.
But you may want to try the iTunes For Windows forum first, apart from anything else you are likely to get better help for the above

purchased a song from iTunes, i tried to transfer it to my itouch, but i received an error "iTunes could not copy because the file could not be converted". how do i convert the song (well, i thought it will automatically be converted)?

    Problem Fixed:
Remove the song from your itunes library, then go to the itunes store and try to download it again. It will say something like "this song has already been purchased, would you like to download it again for free?". Click yes, and it will download again. This worked for me, hope it helped
