  • Problems downloading and installing Adobe Reader X

I had problems with Adobe Reader X (couldn't print pdf documents, very slow opening and sometimes didn't open) so uninstalled it from my computer to see if downloading the latest version would get rid of the issues.   I am running Windows Vista Home Basic.
I am unable to install Adobe Reader X - it gets to a point where it should be installed and I get an error 1303 message, telling me that I need to log in as administrator (which I am).  When I retry the installation, I keep getting the same message.  What can I do?   I have quite a number of pdf documents that I now can't even open and read.
Many thanks in advance for any help that's there!

You can try using this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Problem downloading and installing cloud software

Each time I download the cloud software, the installation gets to about 96%, and then stops and tells me that installation has failed. This is on a Windows XP (service pack 3) computer. The software installed fine on my laptop with Vista.
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be, and how to resolve it?
    Thanks
    Colin

  • I'm having problems downloading and installing gimp photo editing

I've downloaded gimp and then MacBook Pro said it wouldn't instal it because it didn't recognize the source.  Also, I downloaded Macports first. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you
    RickyBobbyUSA

    RickyBobbyUSA,
are you trying to compile GIMP from source, or are you just trying to download a ready-to-run version? If you’re just looking for a ready-to-run version, then you can download GIMP 2.8.10 from here. If you’re trying to compile GIMP from source via MacPorts, then you’re going to need have the command-line component of the Xcode development system installed on your MacBook Pro to be able to do so.

  • Having a problem downloading and installing mavericks

i checked my specs and everything is a go except or the download it seems stuck. any suggestions?

Disable anti virus software if installed
Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
    Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected. If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

  • Problems downloading and installing Flash Player on Windows 7.

I have windows 7 and when i went to update my current version of Adobe Flash Player i would go to the page and only a few things would show up.  For example: It would say to press the Install Now button to go ahead with the download but that button would never show up.  So i uninstalled the flash player all together.  Then when i went to this page the Install Now button would show up.  So i would go along with the instructions of selecting yes on both prompts for the download.  And when i hit yes the second time nothing happens.  I went through some troubleshooting with my internet options and my Active X controls.  I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

  • How to download and install additional fonts in Firefox

I am wanting to add fonts which are "bold" or "black" such as "Arial black" or "Courier New Bold". I sometimes like to use darker fonts.

It's tricky to seamlessly override the fonts websites choose.
    * Firefox makes it easy to simply substitute a handful of selected fonts for all website fonts, but this will not always work well with the layout.
    * The zoom feature will enlarge all characters making them easier to read, but sites that do not flex to fit the window will get a horizontal scroll bar. ([[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages]])
    * You can create custom style rules for the websites that most need improved legibility, but this will take some time to set up, and a bit of experimentation.
Perhaps there is an add-on that improves readability without having to make a lot of compromises? I haven't tried any of them myself.

  • Is there any "simple" documentation on the steps to download and install Photoshop and Premiere Elements V13?  The downloads seems to work but there's nothing clear on what do you do next.

I've been messing with computers since 1958 and I've never seen such a mess as trying to download and install the recently purchased copies of Photoshop and Premiere Elements Version 13.  Slow downloads?  Sure, but I can live with that.  But once downloaded, what next?  Look for a xxx.exe file somewhere in the pile?  Read the "ReadMe" file?  All I seem to get is unzipping some files with nothing leading me into the proper steps.  I can't even seem to get off the ground.  Everything I touch unzips and just lies there.  I hate to think I've gone dumb after all of these years, but "user friendly" this is not.  My "Your order confirmation" sheet gives me "Follow the instructions below to start using it today" and the first three steps work as you'd expect.  Step 4 states "After you have completed the download process, your serial number will be displayed in the download center."  Step 5 is "You can log back into 'Adobe Account Management' in the future to re-download your product or retrieve your serial number. ...."  I have no problem with my serial number but there seems to be a lot missing between Steps 4 and 5.  It would be nice to have this information as pretty standard "stuff.  Computers are supposed to do super stuff without a lot of time-consuming problems with a simple process like installing the software.  I'm feeling a bit hostile about this but it is a time-consuming, frustrating process.
