Problem Downloading: Error 8003

I am unable to download all but one episode of The Tudors that I recently purchased. I keep getting a message saying there was an unknown error (8003).
I purchased the entire HD Season 2 of this series, and only one episode downloaded. How do I get the rest of the episodes that I paid for?? This error has been happening for the past several days, so, clearly there's a problem with the iTunes Store which won't let me download what I paid for.

Doublechecking. Have you tried the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document?

  • Partial Duplicate Downloads (Error 8003)

One evening I set a TV series to download on my ATV. The next morning I noticed that episodes were down loading on my iMac. When that had finished, I had a complete series (and nothing else) on my Mac. However, when I return to my ATV as well as all the complete episodes I also have some partial duplicates shown. These files are listed in the downloads menu as 1% complete with the message Download error 8003.
What I think happened is that my wireless connection was interrupted over night so the episodes could not down load to the ATV. Before this happened, however, the ATV synced and put them in my iTunes down load queue, where they happily downloaded and then were synced back to the ATV.
I have all the episodes so its not a big problem, but I have all this junk showing on my ATV (so a series is listed as having 12 episodes when it only has 8: I have episodes 1 to 8, plus partial duplicates of episodes 1 to 4).
Any ideas how to erase the junk from my ATV (it doesn't appear in iTunes)?

Click the AppleTV device in iTunes to get the tabbed sync menus - if there aren't many tabs you may need to select to 'custom sync' on the ones available. My sync computer has failed so I can't check the exact option.
There are several posible ways to sort this, some more time consuming than others.
Those items which directly downloaded to AppleTV may have a trash can icon next to them when they're the current scrolled to item - if so you could just delete them direct from AppleTV.
Other alternatives would be to remove the sync computer from AppleTV Settings>Computers which will delete all synced data in preparation for a new sync library - it may not remove direct AppleTV downloads though - quick to try but you'd need to add the library agaim with the 5 digit code from this menu and resync stuff. Another alternative would be a factory restore, update software then add back the sync library but this is a last resort in my opinion.
Did the duplicates sync back to iTunes? If so deleting them from there may remove them from AppleTV at the next sync.
Oh, how I wish you could drag and drop files to AppleTV in iTunes, and delete/recover content from it in the same way!

  • Download Error (8003)

I keep getting af download error (8003), when i try to rent and download a movie. The movie is stuck on 79%. It just says "Download Error (8003)".
There is nothing wrong with my connection. Yesterday i rented two movies with no problem at all.
    What is wrong?

    Hi
sorry to jump into the middle of a thread but I have had the same problem and Apple suggested I check the forum. Just wanted to make sure I have understood your instructions correctly. I assume you are talking about the Apple TV remote control. That being the case I do not have volume control on mine. Page 27 of the guide shows a picture of the remote and the button above the Menu Button designates the top as "Menu up/scroll" and the bottom as "Menu down/scroll". When you say volume do you mean the Menu down/scroll portion of the button.
    Thanks

  • Download error 8003 on itunes 10.5 on Win XP Pro

Does anyone know what this error is? My windows xp pro was recently upgraded to itunes 10.5 to support an iPad. things were ok for a day, now I cannot download the "free apps" i "purchased". I get error 8003 which says "check network connection". I ran the itunes diagnostics which says passed: accessed Store, simulated purchase, etc. I tried to download from directly from/to the iPad and iTouch and get the same error. I "repaired" my itunes installation. Seems like the problem is at Apple or maybe my account information? I enter my password ok for my account, it shows my purchases, etc... Help?!

Try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • Error Restarting Download - Error 8003

I cant restart a download that was interrupted by my internet connection dying. I get an error 8003 - any help?

I just had this problem on 2 tracks I was downloading/upgrading to iTunes Plus. Disabling my Privoxy adblocking proxy did the trick. The proxy didn't affect the other 190+ tracks and vids I had, but my cable modem seized up like 5 times during the redownload (Commiecast :/), so I assume that an interrupted download recovery doesn't play nice nice with proxies..
Presumably this would also get you if you run a proxy for antivirus as well.
    HTH!

However, my main problem and area of concern is my downloads. I can download songs without hassle but i cannot download large video files. I start downloading like halfway of a 450mb file (TV Show) then it either disconnects "saying that no connection has broken) or when I press pause, then resume again, my downloads start all from zero kb. My internet connection is stable and does not go off.
I am really desperate here. Can someone please help me get my tv show videos to completely download without hassle.

  • ITunes downloading error 8003

Downloading episodes of The Daily Show, which used to download quite satisfactorily, now we get "error code 8003" at random times and the download stops. Quitting and restarting usually allows us to restart the download.
However, another problem then surfaces. Before, if the download would be interrupted by a temporary internet problem the downloading would resume from the spot where it stopped (so if 78kb had come in and downloading was interrupted, when we'd restart it would start from 78kb and continue). Now whenever there's an interruption it goes back to zero. Since it takes about 3 hours to download an episode, it's a constant and time-consuming crapshoot to see whether we ever actually get a full episode in before something goes wrong.
Any enlightment on the error code? Or a setting or something that can be tweaked to stop the downloads from going back to zero when interrupted?

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

    Hi Matt!
I have found a couple of articles that will have relevant information about your issue. The first is about possible iTunes Store errors, and it can be found here:

  • Download error (8003) can not download all purchased content - Please help?

I have tried everything short of deleting my apple tv and starting again (already done the soft resets).
My recently purchased products only downloaded in part... spent $300 on content much of which I can not watch = very annoying.
Laptop is nearly full, so downloading to that and syncing is not really an option... just want thew apple tv to do what is advertised.
    PLEASE SOMEONE HELP
    thanks

try this, I could not find anything specific about that error code:
    Solution
Deleting the cached video files of the download, and starting the download again from the beginning, often will resolve this issue.
To find the cached video downloads:
    1. Navigate to the downloads folder on your system. This folder can be found in the following locations:
    Mac:
    ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads
Note: The tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    Windows Vista:
    \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Downloads\
    Windows XP and 2000:
    \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Downloads\
    2. Locate the folder that contains the cached video file for this purchase.
In Windows Vista, the folder will be named for the purchased video, and the name will end with .tmp.
    Example: The Dundies.tmp
In Windows XP and Windows 2000, the folder will be named for the purchased video, and the name will end with .m4v.tmp.
    Example: The Dundies.m4v.tmp
    3. Move the .tmp folder for the affected purchased video to the Trash or Recycle Bin.
    4. Open iTunes.
    5. From the Store menu, choose Check for Purchases.
    6. Enter your account name and password and click the Check button.

  • Error:8003 my two computers have norton blocking the downloads

I found that when I tried to download these three movies on my iPad2,  I consistantly would get an error: 8003 every time I tried. It was only when I brought my iPad with me on a recent trip to Montana, that my download suddenly worked just fine from my motel's Internet. That tells me that my norton is blocking anything I try to download. Can someone tell me why it worked with ordinary Internet. Is there a way I can get around this error? Has anyone found this to be true? I can't even download the music I have on my itouch to my ipad2 without running into this error for every single piece of music I have?

Hi, Frank: Your Envy notebook does not come with built in bluetooth according to the product specs at the link below. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-m6-Notebook-PC-series/5296045/model/5312259/document/c03489413/ If it had come with built in bluetooth networking, that feature would have been listed along with the 802.11b/g/n WLAN wireless connectivity specification. I purchased this external usb bluetooth adapter for my HP desktop, and it would work fine any notebook PC too. http://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTD-400-Bluetooth-4-0-adapter/dp/B007Q45EF4 Unfortunately, I would not be able to help you with the webcam problem.

Help?

I am having this same problem with my brand new Mac Pro. It seems to be tied to the computer awaking from sleep (no I am not leaving the iPod connected while sleep... I am referring to waking the computer from sleep and then connecting iPod as opposed to restarting the computer and then connecting the iPod). In other words, if you are getting this error message, try ejecting the iPod, restart your computer, then connect the iPod and see if the error message goes away. For me it does, but I only get one shot at it, if I eject the iPod and then reconnect it, the error message returns. This happens on both iPods I have. I have rebooted (hold menu-select) and gone to disc mode (hold select-play) and the error message remains. The only way it goes away is to reboot the computer, then I get one shot at hooking up an iPod.
I NEVER had nor get this error message when I connect to the Windows PC that I started with. Perhaps the iPod does not like moving from PC to Mac?

  • Adobe Application Manager Download Error (and other problems)

Last week I purchased a Creative Cloud membership (Student and Teacher Edition, if that matters at  all).  When I tried to download applications, the Adobe Application Manager seemed to be unable to connect and instead displayed "Download Error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support."  I read some of the responses to this problem on the forums, and after trying several things, I got it to work (I'm honestly not sure what I did that caused it to work).  However, it is now failing to work again and I can't seem to fix it this time.  As an additional problem, When I tried to open Adobe Premiere Pro (which I managed to download when I got the App Manager working for a while), I got the opening screen that asked me to open a project or start a new project.  No matter what I clicked on, Premiere Pro closed with an error message. Just as with the App Manager (and at the same time), I managed to get Premiere Pro to work (it seemed to work after I set permissions so I thought I solved it), so I was able to use it for a day.  However, now the problem has returned.
I don't know if these two problems are related, but they started working at the same time and stopped working at the same time, so I'm posting them together in case there is a connection.  I am running Windows Vista on my home computer.  I can sign on to the creative cloud online without problem so it recognizes me as a creative cloud subscriber.  My Internet connection is working fine.  I have disabled all firewalls and it still doesn't work.  Very frustrating, obviously.
Thanks for your time and any help or suggestions you can give.

Kardypaine for your Internet configuration difficulties I would recommend reviewing Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.
For the failure of Premiere Pro to open you will want to review the install log to see if you received an installation error.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.
