Problem downloading podcast feed to itunes

this website exists, but won't rss to itunes because the url could not be found on the server.
(www.undergroundfellowshiptelevision.info) what can i do to fix this?
i've been fighting with iweb to produce a podcast that can be found in the itunes store, (as roger w. knows very well) i seriously don't know why these mac products don't play nicely together.
a duplicate site exists, and DOES rss to itunes... but won't publish to the itunes store, because it is a forwarded url, i think. (www.undergroundfellowship.info/uftv)

That site gives the following link for the feed:
itpc://www.undergroundfellowshiptelevision.info/undergroundfellowshiptelevision/ happiness/rss.xml
which does not work. The feed is actually at
http://web.me.com/growingdeeper/uftv/happiness/rss.xml
but iTunes is working from an outdated feed at
http://uftv.undergroundfellowship.info/rss2.aspx
So you will need to access that feed and apply the method detailed here to change itunes to a feed at whatever address you want it to be at (and then make sure the web page reflects the correct feed - you could also give the iTunes URL).
If you can no longer access the feed at http://uftv.undergroundfellowship.info/rss2.aspx you will have to submit a new feed as if it were a new podcast (you may need to change the title to get it accepted). I would recommend submitting the actual feed URL in either case, not using a redirect.

  • Podcast feed in iTunes Store hasn't updated since January!

    Hi,
Our podcast feed which we have been running for over a year now stopped updating in iTunes Store and is still showing the latest podcast as Jan 2013 even though we put out 3 new episodes a week. If you are subscribed it works but people keep reporting to us about the iTS being months behind and it is bothering my employer.
Our server was running slow and I have since fixed the problem and it made no difference.
I reported a problem with the feed in iTunes and it made no difference.
I relocated the feed to another server using a different system and url which is much faster using 301 redirect and placed all files on a high speed cdn but this has made no difference either... Also updated images too.
I reported the problem again to iTunes and nothing changed.
Help I need to get this sorted as I don't know what else to do!!!!! We can't start a new one as we have too many subscribers.
    iTS page: http://www.itunes.com/podcast?id=564972472
Old feed URL (301 redirect): http://nexuschurch.com.au/podcast-feed/feed.php
    New feed URL: http://www.nexuschurch.com.au/podcast.rss
    Thanks,
    Seth

Your Store page lists 68 episodes running from 12 Jan 1012 to 19 Jan 2013. Clicking on the 'Subscribe' button brings up the feed at
    http://www.nexuschurch.com.au/podcasts.rss
This feed has 15 episodes running from February 3 to 11 March this year. The old feed URL you give successfully redirects to the feed now in use in a browser, and evidently also when subscribing in iTunes; but it looks as if it is not working in the Store page. The correct method for redirecting a feed involves placing a special tag in the original feed and is outlined here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
According to Apple's own documentation a 301 redirect should work in the Store, but it looks as if for some reason it isn't.
All I can suggest is that you place a copy of the feed at the old URL, adding the redirect link as described in my page, and remove the 301. This should move the Store to the present feed - it will probably take a couple of days or so to catch up.
If for some reason you are unable to set up the feed at the old URL you can try emailing them at podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to move the Store - give them the Store page URL and both feed URLs.

  • "There was a problem downloading podcast. An unknown error occurred (-50)"

    Hello everyone,
When I try to download the latest episode of my podcast feed, I see an exclamation mark next to the episode. When I click on the exclamation mark for more information, I see the following error message:
"There was a problem downloading <podcast_episode>. An unknown error occurred (-50). Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again."
I was hoping that somebody might take a look at my feed and review the code for any potential problems. It can be found here:
    http://www.stereogol.com/audio/wimpy_podcast.php
    Important notes:
    1. This is not XML code. It is an XML generator created in PHP.
    2. This feed used to work fine in iTunes. I had many episodes already downloaded.
    3. I began noticing the problem after upgrading to iTunes version 7 and beyond.
    4. I know at least 3 other people that experienced the same problem with my feed after upgrading.
    5. Upgrading to newer service packs (7.0.2 for example) has not solved the problem.
    6. I ran my feed through an RSS validator. It spotted 2 errors: (1) the width of the podcast image and (2) the syntax of the <source> tag. I made corrections but they did not solve the problem. I changed them back after that.
Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.
    Pedro

Try fixing up the validation issues...

  • Problem downloading podcast

hi, i've been having some troubles downloading my favorite podcast since upgrading to itunes 7.
in itunes 6 i downloaded hundreds of episodes of English as a second language podcast without any problem.
a few days ago itunes started downloading an episode but for some unknown reason it stopped and now i can't resume it, everytime i try to download it again it says 'url error'. how come did it download half of the podcast then??
today itunes downloaded a new episode, it downloaded the entire episode but there's a '!' next to the episode title and it says that the file is either corrupted or incorrect format, so itunes can't add it or play it. but the file is a normal mp3!!
i think it's itunes fault, since the podcast has always worked smoothly.
    does anybody have a solution??
    thanx

    1. Check that the Podcast feed is still active, can you find it in the iTunes Store?
    2. Try downloading the episodes again, but don't try to download too many episodes at once, this can sometimes cause problems.
    3. Did your connection drop out while you were downloading these episodes?

  • Problem downloading podcast certain podcasts over wifi

I have a problem downloading 2 specific podcasts which i have never experienced before.  The two podcasts in question are "Janey Godley's podcast" and "Mike Harding's Folk Show".  Never had any problems downloading these podcasts in the past, but ive recently had problems with my broadband provider regarding my speeds.  This has now been sorted and every other podcast i subsribe to is downloading fine.
When i get to the two podcasts mentioned the download starts at around 80kb per second (opposed to my B/B speed of 3MB).  it then deteriorates till the speed drops to nothing and its says it will take over 2 hours to download. (both files are around 25MB-30MB).  I have tried unsubcribing, deleting and downloading form the source website but still the same problem.  i have also noticed that if i try to download previous episodes i'm getting the same problem also.
Tried downloading from podcast app on iphone 4s over wifi but again same problems.
I can dowload it from the podcast app over 3G with no problem on my phone.
Any ideas people, as the complete randomness of this has got me perplexed.
    I await your response
    David

  • Problem with podcast feed on windows 7

    Hi
I have had the following podcast working in itunes for over 3 years.
However, a couple of months ago I moved to a new PC with windows 7 and now the downloads start, stop straight away and give a 404 error.  However, when I use my old XP pc or Vista laptop the downloads in itunes still work.
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/stanway-evangelical-church/id277422426?mt=2
I have even copied the link against one of the podcasts in the itunes store and copied into a new browser.  When you then click play in the itunes browser version it plays.  So it is not an issue that the podcast does not exist and the server being down.

I would be grateful for any insight as it is very annoying.

Hhhmmmm! There is definitely a problem.
I've just tried the first link you gave, found the Podcast in iTunes Store and selected Free for the episode of 29th July (which should download the epsiode as a Podcast). Although it looked as though iTunes was downloading it, and gave no error message when it "finished", there is nothing downloaded. (Never seen a failed download but with no error message before!)
I even tried the episode from 8th July, but with the same result. In fact, in both cases, the progress bar went straight from "looking for the episode" to "done" in the iTunes Download section. I even attempted to watch the download in my file manager. The temporary folder is created but no content arrives and eventually the temporary folder is erased.
This is a Podcast problem. Although you managed to play an episode, (in iTunes - I can't), it is a different process to "play" the file as distinct from downloading it as a Podcast episode, so that explains why it can be played in a browser but not downloaded as a Podcast.
I suggest you contact the programme's producers, since it is they who control the Podcast, not iTunes/Apple. I'm sure their first reaction is likely to be that it's an iTunes problem. It may be, (although I doubt it), but as I stated, Apple don't control Podcasts and they will not fault find this one. From previous posts about faulty Podcasts, I know that if the problem is with the iTunes Store, it will still be the producers of the programme who fault find and then report the issue to Apple.

  • Can't download podcasts after installing iTunes 7

I have a 6 gig nano, was using iTunes 6 for a long time and built a huge list of podcasts that updated daily. After upgrading to iTunes 7 none of my podcasts will download. If you hit the refresh button they all just post that icon next to the title looking like they are updating but none of them are.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled a number of times. I'd tried each of the updates that have come out. After I do a fresh install it updates the podcasts once, but if I hit refresh again it stops all of them and won't continue updating them.
    Any ideas?
    thanks.

I have had a problem with iTUNES 7 downloading podcasts as well. If I select more than a couple at a time to download, windows crashes and reboots. Upon rebooting, when I try to re-download the same podcasts, I get the exclamation point icon next to the podcast indicating a network connection issue. What I have to do to resolve it is go to My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads/Podcasts then delete the folder that is named after the podcast. Restart iTunes and then the download works again. I think the guilty file is actually in that folder named (xxx).plist. I still don't understand why iTunes crashes like this though.

  • Still having issues with my podcast feed in iTunes

I am still having issues with my podcast feed. The podcast is not updating in iTunes yet I can see some of the new episodes through an alternative RSS.
    My podcast feed is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/SosChurchStockholm.
Not sure what I am doign wrong.
Thankful for any help in this regard.
    Thanks

I'm afraid I can't give you an easy answer. The Store has not updated since the episode of 10th November, but the later episodes appear when subscribing and there doesn't appear to be any problem with the feed.
The Store does appear to go through sticky patches sometimes and take a long time to update some podcasts; it will probably catech up eventually and I'm afraid that there isn't really much you can do about it. You could try emailing Support ad podcasts 'at' apple.com, but I suspect you will get a form answer telling you how to add episodes (which you already know).

  • Subscribe to podcast feeds in iTunes from Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, how can I add iTunes as an application to subscribe to podcast feeds, so that it shows as an option in the drop-down menu of the preview page? I've selected the iTunes.exe file through the "Choose Application" option, iTunes shows as an option, I select it and when I click on "Subscribe Now" iTunes opens but it does not add the new subscription. I am running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, Mozilla Firefox 3.6.12, iTunes 10.1.0.54 Thank you!

You can add directories to podcast application to use for searching.
Or you can enter the RSS url to add new podcasts.
No directory has ALL the podcasts out there. You need to search and add.
