Problem downloading software updater

Hi. Ive been trying to download the software updater for my N70 & N80 but everytime it get to installing the cable drivers 6.85.10.0 my internet connection ends and the LAN icon disapears from network connections.
The installation then cant continue cause my connection is gone and I cant get the connection back unless I remove the software updater that installed before the drivers.
Is there any other way to get the software downloaded or emailed to me?
I recoreded the problem and if you go to time 2min you can see where the problems happen during installation.

Please help

I remember, a couple of years ago, that every time I installed PC Suite (or its drivers), my WLAN was disconnected. Never resolved it, but that never happened with a cable (LAN) connection.
Maybe what you're seeing is related. Is your PC's internet connection wireless (Wi-Fi/WLAN), too?

  • Problem downloading software updates

I have been trying for a couple months, to download the new version (10.4.11) software for my
    Mac OS X.
When I try to download it, I receive a error message.
"a networking error has occurred:Error NSURLErrorDomain-1005 (-1005). Make sure you can connect to the internet, then try again"
I just downloaded three other updated today, which I was surprised even worked! but the mac update wont download.
I have called Apple and they walked me through re-booting my computer- that did nothing!
Is there anyone that can let me know what I can do?
I can't even use the new updates that I just downloaded today, because I don't have the "newest" version of my operating system!!
    aHHH!!
    thanks in advance

I had a similar problem two months ago, but mine was more of a disaster than yours: my computer crashed.
The advice I got from a support/discussion participant was as follows:
    1. Repair permissions before and after - which you have done.
    2. Never let "software update" do the installation: click "download in background" then do the installation yourself.
    3. It's best not even to download from"software update". Note the name of the update, then go to Apple/downloads and proceed to download and install from there.
All of the above were excellent bits of advice. Because I crashed, I was all the way back to OS 10.4.1. So I chose "combo" 10.4.11 (also on the advice of my 'helper'), downloaded and installed myself and everything has been fine since.
PS. I haven't let 'software update' do anything since that experience, except let me know when an update is available.

You cannot downgrade but as modular suggests you may want to restore the phone from your backup. If that still doesn't work then restore as a new phone.

  • ITunes won't open after downloading software update.  Macbook Pro OSX10.6.8  Simple solution?

iTunes won't open after downloading software update.  Macbook Pro OSX10.6.8  Simple solution?  And by the way, this is apparently a common problem and Apple has completely failed to warn in advance or offer a quick straightforward solution - used to be a good company, but it's becoming just another crappy screw-the-consumer corporation.

It would help to know versions here.  I'm guessing your update put an older version of something into a place where a newer version of something iTunes put in there existed.  Updating an earlier OSX version to 10.6.8 is still only updating to system software that was issued several years ago.  If you are running some slightly newer version of iTunes issued subsequent to 10.6.8 and you just updated to 10.6.8 you may have put in an older version of something iTunes uses.  Anyway, I'm guessing here until we know exactly what you did.

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.

  • Can't download software updates in iTunes - error message "network connection timed out"

I'm unable to download software updates for my iTouch 4.1 in iTunes.  I have iTunes version 10.5, Windows 7.  i've tried numerous times in the past and always get the same error message.  I'm now experiencing problems with some of my apps. and I've attempted 4 times in the past 2 days to upload version 5.0. It goes thru the whole download (761.61 MB), says "processing file", then closes out and I get the following message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "xxxxx's iPod". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are current and your network connection is active or try again later. Err = .3529."
I ran diagnostics and it said everything was fine.
Also not all the apps. on my iTouch are in my iTunes library even though I've synced my iTouch numerous times since I've purchased the apps. with my iTouch.  All the apps on my 2nd screen are on iTunes, but none of the apps. on my 3rd screen of my iTouch are in iTunes.

iTunes has to be able to contact Apple during the download of the software and the update process.

  • Jb script error downloading software update

on the nokia website, i try to download the software update site, but at the end a qwarning comes up saying vb script error, followed by the message that it was inturrupted so wont download.
i am using a vista pc.
    any help appreciated.

I had the same problems downloading the update for my n95 whilst running Vista. My positive result to solve this problem was to:
    Windows Vista
    On the Start menu,
    Click All Programs.
    Click Accessories.
Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator from the shortcut menu.
When the User Account Control dialog appears, click Continue.
At the command prompt type the following:
    regsvr32 vbscript.dll
    Press Enter on your keyboard.
    A message should appear stating
    "DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded."
Click OK and try re installing
Like I say this worked for me, but cannott say if it will work on your systems or not.
    Good luck

  • Unable to incrementally download software updates with unstable dial-up

I have recently moved to Angola and unfortunately only dial-up is available which is slow & very unstable so I am often disconnected. To date the maximum download/software update I have managed is about 20Mb.
Does anyone know of software that can manage interupted downloads and piece back together the file once all parts have been retrieved ?
I know this exsists in the PC world but I have found nothing for OS-X Tiger.
My guess is I am not the first with this problem so there should be something out there.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Hi JMB --
Tough situation you're in. I think it can be frustrating here having my Airport broadband connection freeze up from time to time -- you sure put things in perspective.
Give this download manager application a try, perhaps. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22616
I don't have personal experience with it, but, it did get a five star rating on version tracker, and it promises to resume dropped downloads from the point that they were dropped, which seems like it should solve your problem (if it works as advertised. It is shareware, and I don't know how much it costs to register, but a free trial download (ironic, no?) is available. Seems to be just what the doctor ordered for your problem.
Let us know how it turns out.

  • Is there a way to 'manually' download software updates?

    Hi guys
I've just reinstalled OSX on my iMac due to some issues and have found that I can't install Aperture because it requires 10.6.2 and the OS I have is .1. Fine, so I install the software update, but when it is in the installing stage of the process when the computer is restarting, it says that it cannot be installed and that the download may be corrupted etc.
I have downloaded the item twice and have had the same response each time. So I was wondering if there's a way to download Software Updates manually from somewhere on Apple's site or something so I can try that instead.
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks
    Steve.

Thanks, I'll try the combo update first. I'll make sure to Verify the disk first.
My internet connection is a Fibre-Optic broadband connection and I'm in Manchester, UK. There was some issues with downloading via Safari before, but now that's sorted out but the problem is persisting with the software update it seems. Hence why I'm trying it this way.
I'll let you know how I get on

Hi Guys - for a few days I have been having problems downloading and updating apps on my iPad and iPhone. The message cycles between waiting and downloading then eventually says unable to download app. Sometimes after many attempts it wil eventually work. I tested it on an old iPhone 3G and got the same problem so it is not an iOS 5 issue. My WI-FI connection is working fine. I was wondering if this is an App Store problem? Anyone else in the UK having this problem?

    Hi John
iTunes Support wasn't of any use to me.
I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb.  This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well.  This might be the common thread.

This forum is for questions about Apple Remote Desktop, Apple's software for managing networked Mac systems, and hence not the best place for your question. I'd suggest asking in the iTunes for Windows forum. You'll need to include more details, including the version of Windows you have, before anyone can do more than guess as to the problem.
    Regards.

Let's try the following document with that one.

No promises but a System Reset is worth trying:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide.  Pay special attention to page 162.  Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.

Finally, the User Guide can be downloaded at no charge via iBooks and a less comprehensive version of the Guide is included as a Safari bookmark.

  • Download software updates

Please help me to update my software to iOS 5.1 as my ipad2 doesn't have software update how can I download software update?

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, as your tagline indicates that your iPad is on iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes and selecting 'Backup' (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC)
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button
    Updating to iOS 5+ : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
You can only update a device to the highest iOS version that it supports, which for an iPad 2 is iOS 6.1.3
