Problem downloading song

Hello,
I was downloading an album, and one of the songs stopped while downloading. It had an error (-208 the first time) and quit, and downloaded the rest of the songs on the album. I was able to d/l another one, but still have that song that won't download. It gets to 1.2 mb and quits, and says the network connection timed out.
Is there a way that that song could be reset so I could try again?

never mind - it was having trouble downloading for a while and looked like it was going to have to be reset... but, it looks like it finally went through - yay

  • Problems downloading songs from Match to a 5th Generation iPod

I have about 16,000 songs in my library in iTunes on a Windows 7 laptop, and have successfully turned on and synced with Match, with a paid subscription. Now I want to download songs from my library to a 5th Generation iPod. Whwn I connect the iPod to my PC, iTunes sees that iPod, allowed me to Restore it, then I clicked the device (iPod) checked Sync Music, Selected Playlists, artists, albums and genres. I browsed the artists that it showed to select a portion on my library (since 16,000 songs won't fit on a 30 gig iPod) and iTunes showed only 136 out of 16,000 songs. I have a Playlist titled All, that has the whole library in it, tried selecting that, but got the same result. Why isn't iTunes seeing my whole library?
    Thanks!

Is this an iPod Touch and have you enabled iTunes Match on the device? If not, which seems to be the case from your description, this isn't really an iTunes Match problem. You might get better help by posting in one of the specific iPod forums, or perhaps the iTunes for Windows forum.

  • There was a problem downloading song. The file seems to be corrupted.

    Hi
I'm trying to download an album i purchased but i'm constantly getting the message "There was a problem downloading X. The file seems to be corrupted" for every song I try to download. Also if i try to stream the song it says "This computer is not authorized to play X. Would you like to authorize it". But my computer is already authorized and when I try to authorize it again, it says this computer is already authorized.
I've tried downloading them through the purchased section of the store (which causes itunes to crash 50% of the time) with no luck. I've also reinstalled itunes. This only started happening once I installed the latest version of itunes.
    Any help would be appreciated

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • UNIQUE problem downloading songs

I've been having a problem that no one seems to be able to solve. The folks at Apple Care sent me to the Music Store, and they sent me about 20 e-mails before giving up and referring me here. So here's the deal:
I've been downloading songs for years w/o problem. Then suddenly, all my downloads began freezing. There was never any error message or anything. They'd begin downloading at normal speed, and then at some point they'd just stop and freeze so I had to cancel the download. I go to advanced -> check for purchases about 6-7 times a day to try to recover them...same thing.
But the odd thing is that out the 50+ times a week I go to check for purchases, there's one time when it works perfectly and it downloads all the songs that I've been purchasing. But then when I start purchasing new music, I repeat everything above. So basically when I buy songs, I have to go to check for purchases 6-7 times a day, and pray for the 1 time out of 50 it will actually work.
I use a cable modem connection, and I didn't change providers. I didn't change anything actually, this just started happening. The only thing I've done is consistently upgrade to the new version of itunes.
I'd greatly appreciate anyone's help. Thanks

I got this from the music store:
The error you describe may be caused by the presence of web acceleration or firewall software. While the iTunes Music Store is unable to provide technical support, we can recommend that you either test your connection to the iTunes Music Store without the presence of this software or configure your system to allow access to the Music Store's address.

  • Problems downloading songs: error 3259

I've been very patient with iTunes over the past month while it's been having difficulties downloading my songs. At the begining of the new year, my problems stopped and my songs finally downloaded. Now, I have tried downloading songs again and it's not doing anything. I can download apps and update them, but nothing else happens. I have the most recent version of iTunes and software for my iPod Touch 3rd gen. More important pieces of information: no other software was updated before this problem started and when I run a diagnostics test, it says the secure link to iTunes has failed, but it won't let me click the help button to let me fix it. Please help in anyway you can!

Same problem. It all started on the week of New Years. I also received a new iPod Touch and downloading Apps is fine on it. I thought at first the speed was due to an un estimated amount of customer downloads, but... looks like I might be wrong. If anyone has an answer please tell me, I've never had this problem since I got my first generation Nano.

  • Problems downloading songs on iphone4

Ever since I downloaded the new IOS software I have had problems downloading music in itunes on my iphone4.  I can access the itunes store on my phone, i can purchase the music and then when the phone starts to download it goes through part way and then starts over and continues to do this over and over.  It never downloads on the actual phone.  I have to go into itunes on my laptop and download the music and then sync it with my phone.  Can anyone offer any help as to what is causing this and maybe something I can do to fix it.  Thank you!

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B: Restart, Reset, Restore.

  • Problems download songs or adding anything to my libiary

When I download an new app I always get this message
There was a problem downloading "" you don't have the privileges to make changes
Please make sure there is an connection to the internet.
I check my iTunes media folder and under privileges it reads "read only" how to fix all of this?

This could be caused by several things. First thing, you really need to be using the newest version of iTunes to be able to download, at least 7.6. You may not have iTunes as an allowed site in your security or anti-virus software. Those are really the first 2 things to check.
I would also run a "search" in these forums, using the "search discussions" box in the upper right of this page. Simply type in "5002" to do your "search". I just ran a "search" in this manner & got several pages of hits.

  • Problem downloading songs from iTunes to iPhone

I cannot download songs from iTunes into my iPhone. I was able to move about 10 songs but when I view them they are greyed out. I cannot manually move any songs. And if I attempt to drag and drop the iPhone will not accept them as the iPod will. Any suggestions? BTW I can move songs freely from iTunes to my iPod.

    hi jason,
imho, the lack of manual music and video management
is a mistake. i've had 4 ipods over the years and have always used
manual mode. the playlist hack works okay
    and is only mildly cumbersome.
however i tend to buy music from itunes both on my
imac at home and my pc at work. i've always simply
been to plug in my ipod to either computer and grab my
purchases, in either location. now, my iphone is "locked"
to my imac. i'm sure apple had a good reason to leave out
manual management, but i would suggest revisiting this
    asap.

  • I can not download 19 songs that I recently downloaded it is telling me that my device is not authorized.  I have had this nano for many years and never had a problem downloading songs until now. I have even went as far as to restore the nano and it still

I can not download 19 songs that I recently purchased on my laptop.  I am getting the message that my Nano is not an authorized device.  Even though I have had it for years and it has many songs downloaded from my laptop.  I even decided to do the restore and it is still saying that the 19 songs can not be downloaded to my nano.  I did recently upgrade my window's 7 version.  Maybe this has created the problem.

Yes, the upgrade is the likely cause.
First you should try to deauthorize your computer/iTunes library before attempting to authorize it again.  To do this, click the Store drop down menu in iTunes and choose Deauthorize this Computer.  Then enter in your iTunes account credentials.
When it has finished, choose Store -> Authorize this Computer and again enter in your Apple ID account credentials.
Finally, try resyncing your Nano to see if that makes a difference.

  • Problem downloading songs with itunes +?

I have purchased 2 songs with new itunes + but they won't download. Anyone else have this problem? And what can I do?
    Toshiba   Windows XP

I started converting the "old" versions at 8pm CDT last night and was not finished at 12. I had about 275 songs to do. All loaded but 61 Grand Funk songs. Someone tell me that Grand Funk is that popular? Many dashed out to a fast load, only to stop halfway through. I agree that Apple has a problem, and it probably is a large load on their servers--but Grand Funk does not load? Does not make sense unless that funk just rocks the servers too much. Someone fix the problem, as I have about 600 songs to go. Oh, I restated the download so many times and turned off firewalls --and suspended the anti-virus protection, etc, etc, etc.

  • Problems downloading songs (store 404 error message)

    Hi folks,
Yesterday i bought an album and am getting the following error message "The url "^0" could not be found on the server"
This is for the "Top Gear / Opus 17 - EP" album, which only contains 2 songs.
I've tried the Store->Check for purchases menu option to try and download the songs again after restarting iTunes, but still get the same error. The status column in the download pane lists "stopped (err = 404)" for both songs.
Anyone else ever experience this problem? I downloaded 2 other songs in the same session and they downloaded fine (one before & one after the above mentioned album)
    thanks in advance

  • Cant buy from itunes store, message says there was a problem downloading - the network connection could not be made

recently changed my PC and successfully exported my itunes library. My problem is that when I now try to buy a song I get a message saying that there was a problem downloading (song) and that the network connection could not be made. Occasionally I get that the itunes store is temporarily unavailable and to try again later. The old PC was running Windows XP and the new one Windows Vista. I have already tried downloading a fresh version of itunes and ticked the repair option. Everything else appears to be working normally. Can anyone help please?

Still having trouble, the computer is authorized and appears normal in its function. Recently discovered that while it lists items I have purchased on another device it will not let me download to this computer and shows the same message as above. Also noticed that itunes says it is not connected to the internet which cannot be true because the list of previous purchases appears. Any help gratefully appreciated
