Problem Editing a .fla

I am building a website and I happen to come across a flash intro movie on templatemonster.com and so i began editing it. Here is the actual movie itself: http://images.templatemonster.com/screenshots/18000/18003.html
All I am editing is the text in the movie in Flash CS4, and when I export the video the first second of the movie scraps one of the sound files and sounds like it is speeding it up like a scribble sound, and some of the text i edit looses the correct reflection affect, and instead of reflecting properly the text looks like it is overlapping each other on the bottom of the letters and the reflection overlaps slightly over the bottom of the actual text.
I have worked with previous versions of flash, but I am not sure why just from editing text that the sound messes up.

Since no one knows how your FLA is contructed, and it could
be constructed in dozens of different ways, it's darn near
impossible to advise you. Is there a separate layer which contains
invisible boxes as the actual active buttons? It sort of almost
kinda looks like that from your images. If that's so, then you just
need to select each button area individually and move them. Or go
back to your original FLA, make sure all layers are unlocked and
visible, select everything in every layer, and then use your free
transform tool to resize.
If the FLA isn't too huge, then zip it up, post it somewhere
and someone here might be able to look at it for you.
And please inform which version of Flash you're using.

Problem editing photos in iPhoto 6

Hi,
I am having a problem editing photos. When I click on a photo to edit I get the following error message:
Unreadable Files
The following file could not be imported. (The file is in the iPhoto Library folder.)
/Users/myusername/Pictures/iPhoto Library2006/Modified/2006/Roll2183/DSCN0164.jpg
I have rebuilt the photo library. I also backed up my iphoto library and reimported the photos. I have not messed with the photo library at all. I import my photos from the camera and generally work with them. I think this has been a problem since upgrading to 6.
Has anyone else seen this?

Problem editing place in Pics

I am having a problem editing the places in the Pictures. It doesn't behave properly. I have a combination of Pictures with Iphone that are geotagged and regular pics also. If I highlight several pictures click the check box to edit place the places are not saved when I exit out of that screen. I like using the Iphone because it already has the geotagged info and would like to extend that info easily to the other pics taken at the same location. With some other pictures I have taken, I try to change the places info like the name, but for some reason I run into the same problem that the info is not saved after I select done and exit out. Anyone know what im doing wrong?

I am not clear on your work flow
To add a "place" to a photo that does not have a "place" select the photo and click on the "i" in the lower right hand corner - click on place and type the place you want, if one you want comes up in the list click on it otherwise click on find on map and wait for the Google map to appear, locate the photo and click assign to photo and done
There is no way to copy locations between photos
There also is an application that will allow you to create a track on your iPhone and then use it to assign locations to photos on your mac automatically - GeoTagLog - http://www.galarina.eu/GeoLogTag/Home.html

Problem editing photo's from LR 2.0 in Photoshop

I have a problem editing photo's from LR 2.0 in Photoshop CS4. When I select a photo to edit in PS PS starts up but nothing further happens. This goes for all the different options (in layers, as HDR, etc) except for editing the original photo (in this case a jpeg-file). The option "edit original file" works fine. Help!!

Don't know whether it will fix it, but you should ditch 2.0 and install 2.1 RC (see top of the forum for the link). There were many bugs like this in 2.0 that were fixed in 2.1, so certainly worth a try. If nothing else, you'll have a much smoother running Lightroom.

PROBLEM EDITING AUDIO BETWEEN PREMIERE CS4 AND AU OR SB

I have a problem editing my audio files in audition or soundboth, when I return to premiere after have edited the file in AU or SB, I can't see the wave in premiere but I can hear the audio.
I have to rebote premiere to see the wave.
What could be happening?

What are your exact steps to edit in SB or AU? Do you first Rt-click on the Audio Clip and choose Edit in SoundBooth (or Audition)? Do you Render and Replace (basically what happens with the previous method), and then Open that resulting file in SB, or AU?
From SB, or AU, how do you Save your file - exact steps please?

As these are public forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support, I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post - it's not a good idea to post it unless you like spam email.
The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address on your account - a rescue email address is not the same as an alternate/secondary email address, they are different addresses/settings on an account.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

Editing a .fla

Last night I was messing around with an HTML/Flash template a
friend of mine sent me through email. This is a pretty high quality
and professional looking website that I'm looking to edit and
insert into my own site. My problem is this; first I tried editing
the swf file that came with the template, didn't get anywhere, and
eventually found out that I can only edit .fla files (which I
have). The fla looks something like this:

Cool. I want to change the text links at the bottom though.

I can't seem to edit them, at all. I select the Text Tool
with the intention of changing the letters, and all I can ever do
is create a new text box. Any idea why? thanks!

sounds like the layer is locked or the text field is nested -
make sure all layers are locked except
for the one you want to edit - i some cases there could be a
graphic on a top layer that has
transprency that will will be selected even though it is
invisible - lock all other layers.

Problems opening Mac .fla files on a PC

Hi,
Sorry in advance not to have fully searched the forums; I'm stuck away from work using crappy Australian 3G wireless....
A work partner is using Flash CS3 on a Mac.
She sends me her .fla files for me to edit which I cannot open.
I'm using Flash CS4 on a PC.
Is there a simple way to fix this problem; it's driving us crazy and really slowing down development. I haven't had this problem before working between PC and Mac formats...

No special program should be needed. She can just right click on the item and Compress the file to a zip. I just tested it myself from home to work and it is fine. And you should just be able to Right click and extract all.
Since you are having problems with the zips my guess is that it has to do with how the files are getting sent.
You didn't answer my question about file sizes, but I'm guessing that they are way too small. The Mac tracks its files differently than Windows. So sometimes people get two files with the same names -- a small file that doesn't work and a larger one that is the correct file. Or perhaps just the smaller file. That is what I'm guessing is happening.
Make sure that the mac user has "Send Windows Friendly Attachments" selected. It is under the Edit menu I think. Or it can be selected on an attachment by attachment basis in the attaching dialog (assuming that she isn't just dragging and dropping it into the e-mail.)
If that isn't it the only other thing I can think of is that one or the other of you have some kind of accelerator software that is maybe messing up the attachments?

I have a report which is generated dynamically, the source being a PL/SQL function body returning SQL query. The on-screen output is generated using mod plsql, i.e. an html table.
If I run the report with parameters which return more than 100 columns, all are displayed on screen
However, if I click on the (standard functionality) 'export to csv' link at the bottom of the report, not all of the columns are exported.
If I navigate to the report definition page, firstly a pop-up error appears: "A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to debug? Line 272 Error: ';' Expected". If I click 'no' then the report definition appears. There are 100 columns listed 'Col01', 'Col02', 'Col03' ... 'Col100'.
I can't edit anything on the page without getting an error when I apply changes:-

1. APEX can't handle more than 100 columns
2. APEX can't handle editing of the page once it has been created?
Does anyone have any good ideas/seen this before?
Could it be related to this Is it a bug (Form with more than 100 items/columns) ?
Is this a bug or an undocumented feature?

It created a 100 column report and I was able to manipulate the report the same as any other. So maybe it is not the fact that there are 100 columns. I know its not an answer to your question but maybe it can help.

hello, when my Q10 work account isn't responding ,its ask me to "tap for more info" , i go to "System Setting" - Accounts --Set up email --select my work account email address (show "Not Connected) -- "Edit Account" -Configure the account settings for- always in red font : -Not All Connections were closed in the alloted time. no matter how I change server address, port and smtp server address , SSL..etc..finally solve is to keep delete my work email account and re-install. this is happen on my own work email address account. i have another recruit email work account with same company domain name. but never have this problem. hotmail, yahoo doesnt happen also. may anyone can help ? or only solution is to keep delete and re-install. fyi., this is my second Q10 used 4 mths back. 2st Q10 doesnt happen for all work and personal mail account.Thanks alot.

(2ndPost) Problems opening a .fla (flash) file.

I was sent a link via email to download an .fla file. When it was downloading it said that the file may contain an application. Then when I check the file info, it says open with flashplayer (but the icon is older looking). I have updated my flashplayer but it wont open it either....
I removed an older version of flash player from my computer and the file tried to open.
this is what I saw:

The application is in a foler namer "ENU". To see the application in the finder without opening it, click Show Application.

Telling me to go to wiki is kinda rude. Although Wiki has some valuable info, it is sometime incorrect and therefore unreliable and unusable just as you answer was.
I don't know that Wikipedia is any more unreliable than your asking on a discussion list populated by total strangers and anybody can post here... (though I must say that both Wikipedia and this discussion forum have a fairly high level of commitment and quality considering both are conducted by self-assigned volunteers). If you're desperate to get your own paid employment assignment done by the weekend and are worried about reliability then consider hiring a Flash programmer.

Problem opening a .fla file

I keep getting the error The application Flash has
unexpectedly quit. It happens when I open any .fla file in Flash
CS3 (Intel-based Mac and Mac OS X 10.4.10). I have been using the
application all of last week without hitch or problem. Suddenly
today it won't let me successfully open anything. Have ran a
software update on the full Adobe Suite. Updates were only
available for the Adobe Version Cue Server.

IISproxy problem: Edit locally - check in

Hi all EP freaks,
I have with succes implemented th IISproxy filter so I now can access the portal through the IIS(version 5.0).
I have som excel files that are being edited with the "Edit locally" function. This works fine (excel opens up and I can edit the data locally) but when I afterworth will "Check In" the modified documents the system "hangs". On the client the normal "copy file windows window" showing "Copyied 140% and still not finished... This wil go on for ever so I click cancel and the modified excelfile is'nt updated through the portal.
THIS WORK FINE BEFORE I IMPLEMENTED THE IISproxy module...
In the IISproxy log file i have:

Please try also the following settings:
use-continue=false
keep-alive=false
close-socket=true
These were reported by SAP support as the recommended settings for customer having problems with Local Editing and IIS Proxy.
ActiveX is for Windows only, Java Applet can be used also on other platforms. To use the Java Applet uncheck ActiveX, select "Java Applet" and set the version to "1.3" even if running 1.4 (again a recommendation from SAP support).
If it still doesn't work, you should check that your Java Plug-In actually works. Here is a link I always use to check that the Java Plug-In works:

Problems Editing Previous Annotations with Preview

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with Preview and/or has any advice on how to fix it.
Ever since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I've been having problems whenever I try to edit any of my text annotations in Preview. All of my notes for school are given as PDFs, so I have always used Preview and the textbox function to take notes during lecture. Before I upgraded, if I opened a previously-annotated document to study from and wanted to change something or add to the text, I would simply double-click the textbox and be able to fix it in 1 second.
Unfortunately, trying to make any changes to annotations has become a major process ever since switching to Mountain Lion.
Basically, as soon as I double-click any textbox to edit something I wrote at an earlier time, the box will shrink up to a single line that goes off the page and into oblivion. I have to resize the textbox over and over again just to fit it back on the page, which can be time-consuming and frustrating when paragraphs of text are suddenly condensed to one line that extends ten miles beyond the margins. It happens both with older documents from Lion and with the new documents I've only downloaded and annotated since upgrading to Mountain Lion. I thought maybe it was just my computer, but I tried it on a friend's Mac with Mountain Lion and had the same problem.
I have only used Preview for everything, so all of my annotations have been made using the same program. Also, it gives me no trouble if I try to edit as long as the document remains open; it only happens after I close out of a document and open it up again at a later time (even if it's immediately after closing it). Unfortunately, I can't keep 200+ documents open on the chance I might need to edit them at some point.
If anyone has any clue how I can stop this from happening in Preview or has a suggestion for another good PDF editor (aside from anything Adobe preferably), I would really appreciate it!!

This is happening to me too! It's so frustrating especially since I've come to love Preview before upgrading to mountain lion. At first glace it seemed Preview had become more userfriendly with the textbox, line and circle drawers all separate icons now but the textboxes are such a pain. I know it only takes an extra 5 seconds or so, but by the time you add all the 5 seconds' up, it's heaps of time. It's especially hard if I'm listening to a lecture and I have to stop and fix my textboxes while the lecturer is still talking.
Sorry this isn't much of a solution, but I hope you don't feel alone dealing with this flaw!
