Problem editing text color and page properties due to favicon link

I recently added a link to a sites favicon using the link tag. Following advice on the net this was added beneath the HTML tag and before the HEAD tag. I was using a Dreamweaver template for the site and it updated all pages with the new link in the non-editable area above HEAD and just after the template declaration.
This was fine, unitl the user went to edit the site. He found that he could no longer get to page properties as he got an error that no page properties existed in editable areas... although there was an editable region for the page title. Also text color and highlighting were now disabled.
Moving the link tag into the head area has resolved the editing issue, but it seems a strange bug. Is there some way to add something between HTML and HEAD and have it appear before the InstanceBegin of the template?

You can edit text in any PDF by using trial version but as for as my knowledge and limited experience with Adobe I could not find any text color option in Adobe Acrobat. But you can highlight text in Adobe Acrobat. If you want to change the text color in PDF, I would like to recommend some another software which allows you to change the color of text and is available for download here.
Let me tell you how can change text color using this software. Open PDF file > go to "edit tab" > Click "edit" then highlight text to change the color. As you can see in the below screenshot.
Free free to ask. Hope it helps you. Don't forget to come back to share your views.

  • Anyone having problems editing text on wiki pages in Workspace?

    I have had some serious issues when editing text on new wiki pages in my new Beehive workspace. First when I tried creating bulleted lists (with several or more items), after publishing the lists the text would all get tossed to the bottom of the page after publishing. Then I gingerly recreated the bulleted lists by running all the text together, then pressing Enter at the start of teach list item. This worked with some effort. But then when I tried editing my lists to update the information, the cursor would inadvertently jump to another place in the page, select some text, then my next keystroke would delete it. Even then, once I recreated all the information on the page, when published some of the text did not show up in the published version (it was still there in the editor).
    When I recreated the text and lists in Word files, then copied and pasted it into new wiki pages on workspace, the formatting transferred OK. But editing still creates problems. The Undo button will clearly cause problems, so I stopped using that, but I still am having serious editing issues. Any help appreciated.

    I just started using the Wiki pages and what I need at the time are some sortable tables (only limited need for bullets at the time). I am having an incredibly frustrating time using the "advanced" tables. I use both the Rich Text Editor and Wiki Markup screens to do this. The interface is incredibly buggy! As you metioned, you can get things just so in the WYSIWYG editing tool and it is completely messed up when published. In my case just switching between Rich Text Editor and Wiki Markup (without doing anything) messes things up! And if you want sortable columns, you had better not make them links, as the columns sort on the invisible URLs...
    I can only hope that the engine under the hood of this product is more reliable. I certainly expected more from Oracle...

  • How can I change the text   color in pages

    Hi , how can I change the text color in pages app

    Tap Style in the top bar.
    Tap the Font name/size
    Tap Color then choose the color you want the text.

  • Use gvim to edit text areas and get it to use javascript.vim syntax file

    I have had a lot of trouble with javascript and editting files via apex's "javascript" sections in the page.
    The font in firefox did not distinguish various braces well enough for me. I kept accidentally mixing curly braces and parens... And I would now and then put the plsql concatenate operator || instead of the javascript +. Bleah! There are SO many ways to completely break javascript. And the whole javascript herd goes down when just one little function anywhere in there has an errant brace or quote. So I started resenting not using my customary text editor gvim. I have to have this stuff colorized and have showmatch turned on!
    So anyway I found that you can edit textareas with gvim, I don't know if this is commonly known or not so
    I thought I'd mention it. Or you can use whatever editor you want.
    I only tried this on windows but theoretically it works on other operating systems modulo you
    adjusting the shell details appropriately.
    First of all install the"It's all text!' firefox extension and restart firefox.
    then create a batch file something like this:
    (NB: don't call a batch file the same name as an executable. That can cause pesky loops :-)
    gvimrun.bat:
    c:\vim\vim73\gvim.exe %1 -c "set filetype=javascript"
    Note the pathname to gvim.exe needs to be customized. Note the parameter for passing the first argument along. (%1) The set filetype is telling it effectively to use the c:\vim\vim73\syntax\javascript.vim file.
    so then when you bring up your page in apex , when you put the mouse cursor right below the
    down arrow of the vertical scrollbar on the rhs of the textarea, you should see a little blue button
    that says "edit". Then right click and choose preferences. Direct it to your batch file.
    And if all is well it will work and invoke gvim with syntax coloring. Which makes it just a tiny bit less likely to really flub it.
    Now if anyone else wants to pick up the baton and figure out how to get more than one syntax
    in effect such as javascript and jquery? I did find a jquery.vim file out there. ...
    Now that we know how to do this if someone knows some really super great javascript /jquery
    editor that might be way better than gvim I would definitely consider that! Javascript is easy to screw up

    Hi Mathan. Here is something i have trying to do. This vi does not write it correct... and have I done something wrongly or "stupidly" in code
    Problems:
    -Second row is inroccet
    -If i know that device returns array where is 10 elements. Can I trust that and just return 10 elements from array and changed it to string?
    -Can I trust queue in this way?
    I think hardest in labview coding is that you dont know what kind component you should use and what is the right way to use them.

  • Cannot edit text in Master Page

    I don't work in InDesign often.  I had created a template file for a book back in December of 2011 (originally created in CS3).  I opened this file in CS6 today and did a Save As.  Now it's time to edit a few things to customize it for this new book.  So, I went into the Master Pages to tweak some things.  But, I can't edit any text.  I can click on some photos (not all), but no text is selectable or editable.  What in the world has happened to my file?
    I also went back to the final files for the book I did in December (not the template file, the actual working files).  Those give me the same behavior.  Text that should have been editable is not even selectable.  Again, some photos can be selected and moved, etc. but no text/text boxes.
    Is there some conversion that takes place opening a CS3 file in CS6 that is causing this to happen?  How do I fix it?
    Thanks,
    Matt Tyree

    The corrupted ID CS2 document has now been rebuilt using tagged text conversions, and is now only 3Mb, with .INX > .INDD conversions appearing to reducing the .INDD file size, rather than bloating each time.
    However, the Acrobat X Pro 'Compare Documents' feature is less helpful than before (v6 Pro), e.g. showing spurious differences such as:
    [Old text]: "personally-addressed"
    [New text]: "personally-addressed"
    and oddities like (perhaps flagging ID tagged text problems):
    [Old text]: " METHODOLOGY"
    [New text]: " MetHoDoLoGY"
    [Old text]: " [?993 ]"
    [New text]: " [?993]"
    ? = 'box corner' symbol. As this unanswered forum poster from 2011 says, 'Compare Documents' is too sensitive:

  • Cannot edit text in menu page

    I cut and pasted from a pdf to a menu page. I want to work with the font to make it more readable, but I can no longer select the text. What did I do wrong? I can't edit in Encore or Photoshop. I can select the layer, but not the text.
    I am trying to reproduce the page by duplicating it and adding the text again, but I cannot figure out how I got it there in the first place (to appear as it did in the pdf) It keeps pasting as an oversized text block in one column.
    In other words, How do I edit text that has been pasted onto a menu page? Seems it keeps wanting to create another text layer - in Photoshop as well

    In the previous print screen, the layer icon has a paintbrush in it. In the new menu page I cut and pasted the text is still 'text' layer. I am not able to format it other than change font color. I want to make it two columns of text like the original pdf, and change the font.

  • Problem with text resizing and moving

    After much pain with this issue, I'm going to ask for help.
    The whole issue(s) resolves around text upsizing, changing and moving in Muse.
    No amount of grouping, layering and locking has stopped this issue for me.
    I don't have divs that are a pixel off and whatnot. This happens even when I have a blank site and I test it (as seen in the example pic below).
    The majority of the time, this is an issue when viewing Muse created sites on Android, although text does move when viewed on iOS.
    Example 1:
    I have a square div. I put text in the div that I want to stay contained in the div. Basic right?
    View site on browsers and iOS devices it generally plays by the rules (although not always, there are some movement going on). When viewing this example text and div on an android device, the text resizes larger. This results in the text overlapping the div and moving EVERYTHING below it down. This makes it impossible to tightly design anything for a website.
    I know Android has options within it for users to set text viewing size, but this worthless from a web designer standpoint. That is something I can't control.
    Example 2:
    I have 1 text field and set the typeface to 15. There is nothing else on the page, just a background image (under "Fill"). Viewed on browsers and iOS looks fine. When viewed on Android this text balloons to some enormous size (25+) that makes the website utterly useless. This random resizing makes it impossible to design to.
    Example 2.5:
    I take that same text from example 2, copy it into 2 of the same size text fields. They are placed next to each other, taking up the same width as Example 2. It now looks like 2 columns of text. Set the typeface to 15 again. I view it on Android and get the resizing issues from example 1 not example 2. It's noting to the extent of example 2 but like example 1, it still changes enough to ruins any design I'm trying to accomplish.
    Is there any place in Muse to lock the text? I don't want to make the text into an image (obviously).
    I been dealing with this in Muse for 6 months and haven't been able to find anything online or in forums about. I understand with the bevy of platforms out there nothing will look the same across the board, but right now I don't see how I can continue working with this issue.
    Am I the only one dealing with this?
    Thank you for any assistance.

    Welcome to the annoying realities of working with text on websites... Nothing you describe is unique to Muse.
    Every browser has it's own text engine and thus each line breaks text differently. Even the exact same web page on the same computer with the same fonts will sometimes result in different line breaks in different browsers, or even in different versions of the same browser. It's just a side effect of the nature of determining a line break, where even the most miniscule difference in calculations can result in an entire word fitting, or not fitting.
    There are two "tools" that are especially important to understand and use effectively in order to create designs that work as effectively as possible with the variation in line breaks from one site viewer to the next.
    Text Frame Height Always Matters
    If a text frame is drawn to the exact height of the text wthin the frame, then any increase in the number of lines of text due to changes in line breaks will result in the text frame growing and other objects below the text frame being moved down.
    If a text frame is drawn larger than the height of the text then when line breaks change the text frame won't grow unless the changes in line breaks are severe enough to result in the flowed text being taller than the text frame was originally drawn.
    If you resize a text frame smaller than the text within the frame in Muse Design view, the frame will snap back to be large enough to accommodate the text, but a dotted horizontal line will appear within the text frame indicating the "minimum height" for the text frame. If line breaks change in the browser the text frame will grow or shrink in height down to the minimum height indicated by this dotted line.
    Careful sizing of text frames can go a long way to creating a design that will continue to work well even when line breaks, and thus text frame heights change.
    Grouping Has Consequences
    As part of the output process, Muse collections the objects you've drawn into a hierarchy of horizontal groupings, vertical groupings, or stacks. When line breaks change in different browsers and text frames change height, when the text frames are located in this output heirarchy determines what impact the change in height has on other objects (if any).
    For example, if you have a layout that looks like a 2x2 grid of text frames, by default Muse will interpret it to act as two colums. So if the first text frame gets taller it will push the text frame below it down, but won't impact the location of the two text frames in the second column.
    If that's not the behavior you want, the way to tell Muse to treat things differently would be to group the two items in the first "row". This would cause the top to to be treated as a horizontal group. If anything in the group grows taller than the group, the group resizes taller and pushes the objects below it down. Thus if the top to items are grouped, if either one of them grows taller than the group it would push both the text frames below downward.
    The 2x2 grid is just a simple example of the concept. In most cases you don't have to do anything special to get the behavior you want, but it is important to understand grouping has this ramification. Grouping an arbitrary set of objects on your page can result in undesired behavior when text frames resize in the browser.
    For the Andriod screenshot you've provided, I don't have an immediate explanation. For us to explain what's shown we need to know the exact browser, browser version, Android version and device the screenshot is for. It would also be immensely helpful to have the URL for the page, so we can attempt to reproduce what you're seeing and view the exact code involved.

  • Problems with spots colors and printing

    Hello everyone,
    I am currently working on a business card for a client.  The design calls for white text with an inner shadow to sit above a bar with a gradient. One of the colors in the gradient is reflex blue. When I export the file to a pdf and try to print it the text box fills with white and the graident bar changes colors and a portion of it becomes solid. I can fix the problem by printing the pdf as an image or removing the reflex blue and substituing it for another dark blue.  However there really isn't a close match in cymk to Reflex Blue C. Is there a way I could continue using reflex blue ( incidentally that is one of the company colors) without these short of issues? If it helps I am using Indesign cs5,  Acrobat X, Mac OS 10.6.8, using Creo Rip Software and Printing on a Xerox 700 digital press.

    I tried putting the text on another layer but it didn't change anything. The only solution that has worked so far is changing the spot color, reflex blue, to a cmyk color. Here is a screen shot of the problem and some of my export options
    Hopfully that helps. In a realted issue, is there a way of lowering the transperancy of a graphic that uses spot colors without changing the color? Once again the problem is reflex blue. When I lower the transparacy the color turns purplish.  Thanks for the help

  • Possible to change review text color and wording

    I've searched high and wide to try changing the text color for the review mode field "CORRECT ANSWERS" that shows on a fill in the blank/ short answer question. Ideally I'd like white text (it's set at black) and I'd like to have it say "Correct answer(s)" or even somethinge else. I don't like the all caps that's used either.
    I've looked at the Object Style Manager but I don't see this particular field available/editable. Has anyone found where in the c:\Program Files\Adobe... files this setting is controlled - a .dll, .xml, .txt? I don't mind changing it to white there if I have to.

    Hi, thanks. Cap 7. I whipped up that course from scratch, no particular theme applied. Also to answer your question, I looked at the master slide and that particular review mode field isn't present, just the initial objects like the text input field.It's frustrating how everything but the CORRECT ANSWERS label is editable via the Object Style Manager. Why they forgot to include it is beyond me. I'm left at using "Hack a Cap" methodology by looking at all the .dll, txt. xml files hoping to fix it there because as far as I know you can't just turn the CORRECT ANSWERS field off even if you wanted to. Unfortunately almost all of our screenshots in our courses will have a royal blue background.

  • Frozen cell text color and other formatting inconsistencies

    I am using numbers to maintain course grade books. On each of two gradebooks a single cell has spontaneously changed its text color. Nothing can induce these cells to return to the appropriate color.
    Along the same line, I find that sometimes it is impossible to select a row or column, and to change the cell attributes for all cells at one time. That is, applying a color or formatting feature will affect some cells, but not others. However, those cells can be changed individually.
    Has anyone else encountered such problems?

    Hello
    Use the Inspector to check if there is a "conditional formatting rule" linked to the offending cell(s).

  • Change Text Color and Background

    Hello
    I need to change the text colour and background for an entire text box and it's contents with as little iteration as possible
    For the Background I am using textframe.fillcolor
    and for the text I am usinf textframe.parentstory.fillcolor
    Is this correct?
    Thanks

    Hey!
    Yeah, that's ok.
    Also you can adjust color tint, and color text per paragraph like this:
    //fill text frame with color
    app.selection[0].fillColor = app.activeDocument.swatches.item("Red");
    //adjust fill color tint
    app.selection[0].fillTint = 20;
    //fill second paragraph
    app.selection[0].parentStory.paragraphs[1].fillColor = app.activeDocument.swatches.item("Red");
    //fill third line
    app.selection[0].parentStory.lines[2].fillColor = app.activeDocument.swatches.item("Red");
    Hope it helps!

  • JPA: looking for pattern to prevent edit of ownerId and created properties

    My business and persistence tier architecture ideally should prevent editing of the ownerId, created, modified and version properties which are common to all my entities.
    The ownerId is perhaps obviously the identifier of the user or group in a multi-user app who own the item of data and have rights to edit it. 'created' is the creation data when it was first written to the DB.
    I can't set the 'modified' or 'version' fields to updateable="false" because they do need updating.
    I don't want to use stored procedures, or interfaces for the entities. I'd like to keep it generic.
    Do I have any other choice than to execute a native sql query to fetch the unchanged values?
    Thanks
    Adam

    So I'll have to make 'created' and 'ownerId' parameters on the constructor with no setters and just hope I never have the need to set them.
    But with 'modified' and 'version', the properties need updating. JPA needs to access the version field - does JPA do this by reflection? I'll run some experiments to see what happens.
    With a setter on 'modified', I still want to protect it against change by anyone else. Well of course, I'm being a bit obstinate, if the 'modified' property is set every time by a listener, then it doesn't matter whether it was changed beforehand outside the persistence layer: that change will just get overwritten by the listener. Hmm.

  • Editing Text in new Pages

    I have seen several posts about this, but no response yet that solves the issue for me. Creating a text box is easy, but once I click outside the box, somehow the box locks (it doesn't show "locked" in the format area) and there doesn't seem to be any way to place the curser back within the text. Right click shows a greyed out "align front/back" and left click shows the outline of the box. Editing text should be the easiest thing in any software to intuit, and I just can't figure this out. Please help!

    Ok, I figured it out after fooling around with this for waaay too long. It seems that a triple click inserts the curser. Of course, like any triple click--sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't (all about perfect timing), which forces the user to spend a lot more energy than necessary on what should be the most simple of tasks. Very frustrating. If any of the developers are reading--please, this needs some serious rethinking.

  • Changing field text color and fill based on input value.

    I am trying to create a field that can be red, yellow or green.  In the end, what I need is a box that can be made red, yellow or green by the form user.  My strategy is to use a validation script to change the field and text color based on the field input.  So if you type "red", the text and field turn red, essentially making a red box.  The field is named "GoalColor".
    Am I headed in the right direction to get make this dynamic colored box?
    This script works but you must type "red" into the field(including quotation marks).  Any ideas on why the word red alone isn't triggering it?
    var vcolor = this.getField("GoalColor").value;
    if (vcolor == "red") {
        this.getField('GoalColor').fillColor = color.red;
    } else {
        this.getField('GoalColor').fillColor = color.white;
    I have also tried - works if you type 'red'
    var vcolor = this.getField("GoalColor").value;
    if (vcolor == 'red') {
        this.getField('GoalColor').fillColor = color.red;
    } else {
        this.getField('GoalColor').fillColor = color.white;
    and  - does not work
    var vcolor = this.getField("GoalColor").value;
    if ( vcolor == red ) {
        this.getField('GoalColor').fillColor = color.red;
    } else {
        this.getField('GoalColor').fillColor = color.white;
    Thanks!

    And you don't need to add the quotation marks in the text field. In fact, doing it will cause the script not to identify the word.
